• Withem (9/5): Recommended Property - Highly recommend. It's really very nice & felt safe. The neighborhood is just off a main street, and the street is not paved, but cars did not drive fast because of the speed bumps. The door has three locks and there is a grating over the window, so nice and secure. The apartment was very clean and located within walking distance to small neighborhood shops and a large supermarket. There were nice towels for bathing, clean, comfortable linens, and enough supplies in the kitchen to make meal preparation easy. There was a good heater plus extra blankets. Also an oscillating fan for warmer times. The owners live on the adjoining property and were very accessible. A quick message brought them over to restart the heater and give me matches for the gas stove. My plans changed and I would have like to extend two extra days, but there was another reservation coming in so I had to relocate. They were kind enough to drive me to my next place. *Note to anyone coming from the USA. I speak zero Spanish and they dont speak English. We used my translator and it was all good. **The ATM fees in Argentina are atrocious, so bring all the cash you can. Convert it at the airport before traveling, or convert it here. Either option would be less than I've spent on fees. And specifically here in Puerto Madryn, I could not get money from the four ATMs I tried. The property prefers being paid in cash or Argentina bank transfer, but we did figure out that PayPal can be used in a pinch. The family was VERY helpful trying to givee me options for making the payment. Not a "didn't like". Just a note. The step into the apartment is a high step up and down. One of the doors to the wardrobe comes unhinged and makes it hard to use the top drawer.
