Guest Reviews
- Sara (10/5): - Great stay, very accomodating, great bathrooms, great kitchen setup and great amenities.
- ian (9/5): -
- Gracie (10/5): Great times.would book this place again - Great location. Very peaceful. Loved how each room had its own bathroom. Nothing
- JENI (10/5): Slice of winery heaven - You cannot beat waking up being surrounded by water and kangaroos jumping past your bedroom I'm not sure if you can make the queen beds into 2 singles but that would be great if possible
- Sandy (10/5): - Love love love the beautiful Lakehouse š
Yet again, another wonderful stay - where you instantly feel relaxed as soon as you arrive. Such a perfect setting!
Can't wait to stay again - next time perhaps when the weather cools down to take advantage of the amazing fireplace. Perfect for relaxing in front of the fire with a glass of red in hand š·š·
Until next time Nothing
- Brooke (10/5): - So clean, very tranquil, lots of space and a very lovely location. The hosts were so accommodating and very easy to contact. We didn't book long enough!
- Kim (9/5): Perfect long weekend getaway - Lovely accommodation set in a peaceful rural setting. Centrally located to explore the local vineyards. The property had everything we needed for two nights. Beds extremely comfortable.
- Fiorella (10/5): The perfect stay for our group of 3 couples. We loved it. - The location, the layout and dealing with the property owners was brilliant, we loved it.
- Ngee Vun (10/5): Special stay in a surreal landscape. - The location was perfect. Quiet and blissfully peaceful and away from everything. Even the rain did not deter the beautiful location. We wished we could have stayed longer. The kangaroos were surreal to watch as they congregated around the estate and we even saw one with a joey in it's pouch. Just magical. We had problems with the fire as it was raining and we did not get a chance to load up on smaller kindling, but I guess it was clearly mentioned that only enough would be provided for 1 night, so no biggie.
- Nick (9/5): - Superb location, great outlook. We all loved it.
- Natalie (10/5): Our stay was wonderful! And weāre booking again for next year! - The Lakehouse is beautiful! Warm and inviting, well laid out, fully functional kitchen, most comfortable beds and immaculately clean. And a stunning view from every window!
- Glenn & Caro (8/5): Beautiful location, very comfortable. A couple of minor issues that could easily be fixed. - The location was spectacular - right amongst the vineyards and on the beautiful lake. The sunsets were stunning! The house itself was super clean and a great layout for 3 couples. The oven didn't work.
Would be lovely if the hosts could put the lights and heating on (including lighting the fire) to make the place more cosy and welcoming on arrival. It not very nice walking into a cold and almost dark house.
It would also be nice if more fire wood could be provided. We're guessing the same amount of firewood would be provided regardless of whether staying one night or two - given what we paid, there should have been enough to use for the number of nights stayed.
Please consider a standard 11am checkout time. Take a leaf out of accommodation in other countries (and even some decent places in Australia) where 11am/midday is offered as the norm. You shouldn't have to beg for an extra hour and there's no way it takes 4-5 hours to clean a house that size.
- Amela (10/5): Exceptional - Location, privacy , the vibe That we couldnāt stay longer
- Elyse (10/5): Exceptional - The perfect setting for a group of friends to catch up. Ample space with 3 bathrooms and spectacular views whichever way you look.
Most comfortable beds in Australia. Everything was perfect for us.
- Liz (10/5): The Lovedale Lakehouse - Lovedale Lakehouse was very good from the location, views overlooking the lake to the facilities in the Lakehouse, the welcoming kangaroos, to the Egret that greeted us from the balancy every morning. We all had a most enjoyable stay and would love to stay again.
- Yao (10/5): A lovely & calm Autumn get away. - We were back to this lovely place just 6 months after our last visit, as it proved to be our go-to place to chill when we feel like having one. Seeing the kangaroos wandering freely at the vineyard and around the little lake was therapeutic. The calm from enjoying every sunrise and sunset was indeed something we have missed most. We will be back again pretty soon without a doubt. N.A.
- Yingyan (10/5): I would rate 100 out of 10 if I could. Love it! - Everything. The location, the houseās decoration, the peaceful atmosphere, the lake, vineyard and kangaroos nearby and the lovely host. Nothing.
- Kerry (10/5): The perfect weekend lakehouse - Our group absolutely loved the lakehouse! The layout/ space was so perfect for 3 couples and the kitchen was well stocked with anything you'd need to use to cook. The lake, vineyard and location was beautiful, house was clean and well maintained. Will definitely be booking again next time I come to the Hunter!
- Kerrie (10/5): Exceptional place to stay in the Hunter Valley - The property is as described: well appointed, spotlessly clean and in a beautiful, peaceful location. The views over the lake and vineyard are magic. Kangaroos and lots of birdlife around. It is a really lovely place to stay as a couple or as a small group. N/A

- Yao (10/5): A great place for a get away in Lovedale! - The nature, the small lake, the vines, the birds, the ducks, and the kangaroos, were just so close to us when we were there.
The house was cozy and the kitchen was well equipped.
A very good place to take a walk around the vine and also the nearby areas where you can see the kangaroo families while you make your way around the property compound.
A wonderful place to take a break from the busy city routines and find some serenity. Nothing for us.
- Gulia's (10/5): excellent - Great Location. All was very good
- Owen (10/5): Peaceful and wonderful lakehouse stay - Lovedale Lakehouse was a phenomenal stay. The location was unbeatable and the accommodation itself was in a league of its own. You can feel the comfort of your own home whilst been on holidays, all the facilities you utilise on a daily basis and more are available to use. I'm already looking forward to my next Hunter getaway and I know exactly where I'll be staying.
- Ruth (10/5): Wonderful, I donāt think we could have selected anywhere better. - Everything! Location. House. Cleanliness. Privacy and tranquility.
The house and surrounds are spacious, with no amenities lacking. Excellent bathrooms, comfortable beds.
Bird life on and off the lake is stunning and the kangaroos add to rural ambience.
Host very accommodating and respectful of our privacy.
We had a lovely time and would definitely stay here again and also recommend to others.

- Jill (10/5): Absolutely sensational - highly recommend - Loved everything No washing machine/iron/dryer
- Kerryn (10/5): Fabulous accommodation at a fabulous location. Highly recommend. - Loved absolutely everything about this property. Superb set up, modern, well equipped with all the essentials such as olive oil, salt and pepper, gladwrap, paper towel, tea and coffee. Hosts left us a welcome gift of a bottle of wine and a bottle of olive oil. Little touches that really count. House smelt fresh and clean on arrival, no cobwebs and the grounds were well maintained. Hosts generously offered us a late checkout without even asking. Communication with the host was excellent - very responsive and the host gave several suggestions for dining and activities for our stay. Comfy beds, comfy lounges and a stunning fireplace. Excellent outdoor furnishings and an abundance of throw rugs to wrap up in when enjoying the deck. This place is the total happiness package!!!

Location was perfect to attend Lovedale Long Lunch, as we could walk to first winery. Fabulous hosts that were available to a see any questions. The location is so picturesque and so cosy in cold weather. The beds were absolutely amazing and we are now sourcing the mattresses. There is nothing I would change about this property. will definitely return We had to leave
- Marco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (9/5): Loved our stay, weāve had an amazing time! - Fantastic location, great setting, comfortable and well appointed.
- Olivia (10/5): Stunning lakehouse stay - The setting was absolutely stunning. Views over the lake were breathtaking. The property was spacious and I liked that it has a bathroom for each bedroom. You canāt escape the views in this property, every window you look out of is like a landscape painting. The host was so responsive over messages and recommended lots of local restaurants & vineyards nearby. Nothing - it was perfect!
- Jennifer (10/5): Long weekend to attend a wedding made magical by staying at the Lake house - The lake house was simply the most charming the most comfortable and perfectly equipped house I have ever rented Views of ducks in the lake, kangaroos wondering around the vineyards. It such a lovely experience. Canāt recommend it enough. Not one thing! Truly!
- Sean (10/5): My family, friends and I had what can only be described as the perfect weekend stay at Lovedale Lakehouse. From the mome - Magical spot next to a small lake flowing with peaceful and beautiful birdlife and Kangaroos. Incredibly located within a 5 minute drive from impressive wineries, restaurants and cafes. Spotless and perfectly clean! Generous, kind and attentive owners/staff being greeted with complimentary local wine, olive oil and Balsamic vinegar. Given countless suggestions for attractions in the area. Beautiful deck and BBQ area, aircon in every room. Stunning, didnāt want to leave!! Absolutely nothing! Itās perfect!
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - All of it. Bed was comfy. Well equipped kitchen and BBQ. Very spacious in all rooms.
- Rebecca (9/5): Peaceful and calm home to relax in after a day out in the vineyards - The lake house is so tranquil. It was lovely sleeping in and then enjoying coffee watching the kangaroos and the ducks moving by. The beds were super comfy, and a bathroom per couple was great. We chose it because it was remote, so you just have to be prepared to drive everywhere, it was fine by us
- Alexandra (10/5): We had the best weekend, mostly due to our lovely hosts and the beautiful accomodation they provided - There was nothing we didnāt like at all. The location was sublime, so picturesque we didnāt want to leave. The beds were very comfy, we loved how each couple had their own bathroom to use - was fantastic! The entire place was cleaned to perfection and we were made to feel so welcome. Most of all, the communication with our host was extraordinary. They were very clear, kept us up to date before our stay, kept in contact during our stay (only minimally to check we were okay and giving suggestions for the area) and even checked in on us at check out ensuring we did not have to rush. Everything about the lakehouse was amazing and we will 100% be returning. Absolutely nothing. It was perfection
- Maryanne (10/5): We loved our stay. It was perfect for our group of 3 couples. - This is a beautiful place to stay. it was very private but still close to all attractions.
- Jamie (9/5): Beautiful spot in the Hunter for a relaxing break - Lovely setting overlooking the lake and vines. Perfect place for a family or three couples as three good sized bedrooms and three bathrooms. The beds were super comfy. Check in process was seamless and hosts were very efficient.
Would return and recommend to others. Aunt wants to know where the beds are from, she loved it! Only slight drawback was the water for the bath was a yellow colour so stuck to the showers.
- Jaroslav (10/5): A beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. - The cottage is in a peaceful location next to the lake. There were beautiful views from every angle and so much birdlife. We loved the bird watching from the outdoor patio. The place was impeccably clean. And it was great that everyone had their own bathroom too. Nothing at all. I imagine it would be difficult to find a more lovely place to stay in the Hunter. We will definitely return!
- Karen (10/5): An amazing place to stay, beautiful views from every room, we will return - The location
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - Lovedale Lakehouse is beautifully appointed and offers a real sense of serenity on the ware among the vines. We went in heatwave conditions and were very comfortable in the aircon watching a hit Kangaroo cooling off in the lake right in front of us! Very happy!
- Leanne (10/5): An amazing place, very comfortable and clean. - A little hidden gem in the Hunter. A beautiful relaxing place over a lake. Perfect for afternoon drinks after a day out. it was very clean and comfortable. Itās location was quiet, away from the touristy part of the Hunter but close enough that you didnāt need to drive far. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone. we will be back.
