Guest Reviews
- Stevens (9/5): Nice place to stay. - Cleanenss and log burner Cold inside the cottage
- Darren (8/5): - Very cosy and close to Dyfi bike park.
- Michael (8/5): - Cute cottage, nice styling, everything we needed Storage heaters so not very controllable. An additional heater to plug in would help as it was a bit chilly. Back steps are area could have done with a sweep and there was old food waste out the back. Washing line unsightly. Main road - v fast vehicles and noise in day time, though it didnt bother us overnight.
- Caitlin (10/5): Amazing cosy stay - Lovely cosy cottage in a great location. Loved that you can park right outside as that makes it so much easier. Wood fire was gorgeous of a night time and heated cottage so quickly.
The host was so helpful and had thought of everything even down to labelling the charger wires in the cottage! :)
- DAMIAN (9/5): -
- Kim (9/5): -
- Gy23 (4/5): - Excellent No curtain in bedroom and no heating in the bedroom, electric heaters, no double glazing and very drafty , cost £30 in logs on top of price to try and heat the cottage
- Sharon (10/5): Perfect for what l wanted, comfortable and cosy, and a nice relaxing ambience. - Cosy cottage with great amenities. Just what l wanted. Comfortable, clean and perfect for a place to stay when l went to a dog show and hiking. Sadly the noise of the traffic as it's on a main road.
- tim (3/5): -
- Lauren (8/5): Good bootable to explore snowdonia area. Very cosy and comfortable and able to relax - Open fireplace with firewood. Decor in the kitchen very homely. Lounge very cosy Heating/ temperature a little difficult to control
- Samantha (6/5): A base to explore the beautiful Welsh rainforest. - Geographically very well-placed for exploring the area. Garden lovely, kitchen well stocked (apart from no cork screw). Log burner wasn’t working which we’d found out the day before. It made it chilly in the evening.
Rechargeable light bulbs weren’t really convenient.
If you do park in suggested lay-by, be aware doing it in the dark is challenging on busy road. Appreciate owners can’t do anything about traffic.
- Al (8/5): -
- Jane (8/5): Lovely cottage - Location
Bathroom was nice
Kitchen was nice
Lounge was nice The bed was uncomfortable and very noisy
The sofa was uncomfortable
Unfortunately too wet to view the garden which was located by steep steps
Slippery when wet
Noisy road
- David (6/5): Pleasant - Lovely traditional Welsh cottage. Very comfortable with a well appointed modern kitchen. The West facing garden is useful in good weather but you do need to be a bit of a mountain goat to appreciate it!. It is on a very busy A road with the associated traffic noise.. There is no real useful parking as the property is literally on the road. Please don't try to park on any adjacent parking spaces no matter how unused they seem as you leave your vehicle open to vandalism!
- Carol (8/5): Very good - Lovely little house very cozy Near road parking a little down the street
- Isabel (9/5): Traditional Welsh stone cottage - We liked the comfortable homely feel to the cottage, lovely local artwork and beautifully furnished
- B (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabelle (8/5): Very good -
- Wendy (9/5): Superb - Excellent location in beautiful area. Lovely. well equipped and comfortable cottage.
- Theresa (10/5): perfect, couldnt fault the cottage and the host (Sue) was amazing. - the location was great for travelling to different places along the coast. the road is very busy, but could have been busier due to holiday traffic. the cottage itself is quaint and homely, loved the fact that it was a traditional miners cottage. the speed of drivers on the road, 40mph but most came through at 60mph.
but that is no reflection on the cottage at all
- Matilda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Casey (7/5): Clean, cute, and good value! - The property is very cute! Kitchen is great. Owner was very quick to respond. All round good stay! The bathroom was clean but the shower could do with an upgrade, as could the tv. The owner is currently sorting wifi but that is something we expected the property to have.
- Stephen (8/5): Cosy cottage stay - The cottage was a lovely cosy space with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The garden has a lovely little seating area which gets plenty of sun. The kitchen is very well equipped and all of the crockery is lovely quality. The cottage is surprisingly bright and airy and there's a plethora of countryside to enjoy around As it's an older cottage the windows are a bit drafty and let in a lot of noise from the road. However this is really minor. There's lots of heaters in the property to keep warm
- Maggie6891 (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic place. Home away from home. Sue is very caring about guests. Thank you so much for everything. Hopefully we will come back soon.
- Geraldine (10/5): A nice, cosy and snug cottage for two - Perfect location for our trip to Ynshir. The cottage is cosy and comfy with everything you need. We thought the roadside location might mean noise from the traffic but we both slept really well It was a bit cold when we arrived but it warmed up nicely with the log fire on.
- Rhys (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (7/5): Beautiful charming cottage. - Furnishing and facilities were excellent Main road was extremely close …maybe I missed that in the descriptions?
- Ryan (8/5): Lovely cottage, clean and cosy. - Nice and cosy cottage. Clean and comfortable. Close to a main road, difficult to walk from property without being on the side of main road.
- Josie (8/5): Very good -
- Veronica (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Clear instructions for check in. Friendly & helpful neighbours. Cottage was lovely and spacious. Has everything you need. Nothing
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful cottage in a beautiful, stunning part of Wales. Sue the host was attentative to my needs and explained various parking/ relevant details prior holiday. Definitely one to return too 🥰♥️
- Darren (10/5): A lovely cottage. - This is a great cottage in a lovely location and was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The host/owner was very accommodating with our earlier arrival and couldn’t have been more helpful. I’d highly recommend the property.
- Lawrence (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steve (9/5): Superb -
- Josephine (10/5): Fabulous stay - Beautiful cottage that had everything I needed, and in a great location; lovely and quiet and exactly what I needed for a get away Nothing
- Lawrence (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (8/5): Charming indeed - The cottage was as charming as described with some lovely period features and a very comfortable bed. The house was chilly and needed the log burner to make it comfortable. Not the fault of the owners, more to do with the construction and shady location.
- John (8/5): Good couple of nights in a comfortable cottage - Charming layout and decoration Front door lock difficult
Close to main road
- Gareth (9/5): Superb - lovely cottage, nice and clean. was perfect for a short break. no microwave, and very close to main road
- Linda (10/5): Lovely winter break! - Lovely cosy cottage. We had a few days in an area we hadn't been to before and were surrounded by wonderful scenery. We spent the evenings in the cottage which had everything that you needed. We slept very well, bed comfortable.
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nick (10/5): Cosy, comfortable, wonderful. - Some places feel like home as soon as you enter. Add a log burner and things do not get much better. This place is fabulous and you will not regret staying here.
Both me (and the dog) will look forward to returning at some point. Enough said. Just lovely.
- Jayne (8/5): Very enjoyable apart from the parking situation! - The cottage lived up to its reputation of ‘charming’. Very comfortable and well equipped, having no Wifi was fine as it was clearly stated in advance and didn’t matter for a few days - probably could be something to look at providing in the future. The parking was a challenge as the road is very busy and even a small car parked outside the front didn’t really fit comfortably - also wouldn’t have liked to park in the layby down the road as an alternative. Shame, because it would be a detractor for re-visiting, as the rest of the property was marvellous.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Eduardas (8/5): Ideal if you would like to stay nearby Ynysir restaurant and can’t get a room to stay on thier premises. - It has all you need for a comfortable stay. It was tricky to locate as all the cottages are numbered sequentially on the same side of the roads and rental cottage didn’t have a number on the front. Shower unit is switched on not only by the switch on the wall in the walk in utility room but also by pulling a cord attached to a ceiling
- Julian (9/5): Perfect for our short stay break. Shame regarding the traffic noise. - It was very clean and charming as advertised Front door, and both front windows old, poorly fitting, and only single glazed which let through much unnecessary heavy traffic noise. Downstairs window lock broken.
- Vanessa (9/5): A very comfortable clean little cottage. - Clean and comfortable, thoughtfully furnished, tastefully decorated. Parking a little stressful, fast busy road at times and limited parking space, not for some of the ridiculously large cars of today (luckily not ours)
- Dylan (8/5): Very good -
- Lynne (10/5): Exceptional - Cosy and comfortable, with everything you need. Very busy road.
- Nicola (9/5): Cosy cottage, really enjoyed our stay! - Lovely, well presented cottage. Thoughtful extras like milk, tea, coffee. Comfy bed and clean linen and towels. Parking is a bit of an issue but that can't be helped.
- Neil (9/5): Good location, such a lovely cottage, loved the log burner in the evenings - Perfect for the 2 of us & our 2 dogs
- Whitbourn-hammond (7/5): A bit noisy! - Clean, tidy, comfortable ,well equipped. I don’t think you can really say it has parking!!! Garden a bit overgrown.
- Cheryl (8/5): Charming cottage. - It was a sweet cottage. Everything there that would be needed. Good communication from host.Easy vheck in. Lovely neighbour. Busy road but was quiet over night. It was a bit awkward to park being on a busy road, but the neighbour was very helpfull in letting us know how much space we could have and the host had sent us details too. The bed was a bit uncomfortable.
- Jasmine (10/5): Beautiful place to stay, everything was perfect. - Beautifully furnished, loved everything about it, so cute and quant would recommend if you’re coming back from Snowdonia or in the area, we needed this after a few hikes. Had everything we needed there and was so comfortable and cosy. It is on a main road, the windows blocked the noise of the cars though! The space is tight out side but plenty of other parking options available if full and was easy to find!
- Francesca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathleen (8/5): Sweet little cottage - Sweet little cottage. Lovely garden in evening sunshine. Thanks for leaving milk and eggs. Very kind. Shame there is no Internet. The water pipe leak outside in the road made unloading the car and packing it very difficult. Cars passing at speed and showering us with dirty water! Not your fault, we appreciate. Hopefully only temporary.....
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Emeline (9/5): Superb - It was charming and cosy.
- Cumberlidge (9/5): Lovely little cottage - Charming cottage very clean Busy road
- Andy (8/5): Very good - Lovely through out, well kept property
Fantastic taste
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harvey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (8/5): Lovely place - Mostly everything Garden needs TLC
Stank of dog in the kitchen.
- Dorota (8/5): Great for one night - but off busy road. - Self contained and has a real cottage character. Communication with host was great. Well equipped kitchen, welcome milk and eggs for breakfast and nice neighbors. And a real fire to make ! The owner is making a real effort for this to be nice. Smell on the ground floor (not of damp more of animals - and i have a dog but this was a lot stronger), no heating and no internet. Parking is not really easy as it is off a v busy road and there is no safe place outside. Also off busy road means noise and traffic.
- Saleem (10/5): Very homely atmosphere - Clean, Tidy, Cosy and thr Host was very helpful from beginning to end. A very nice little cute cottage. Highly recommended for couples. The weather lol
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect little cottage, loved the decor, art, bedding and the fact you left shampoo and conditioner as well as local eggs, coffee and milk. Lovely home from home in a great location with friendly neighbour The garden had very steep steps for my elderly dog but we made it work
- Winifred (4/5): No wifi no parking, the nice man next door moved so we could park. - On a busy road Traffic
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (7/5): Perfect for what we needed it for - The location was ideal for us The downstairs smelt of wet dog but other than that it was value for money
