Guest Reviews
- Donna (10/5): - Beautiful view. Responsive host. Problems locking front door
- Sjon (8/5): - Mooie locatie net buiten Inverness. Wifi was super.
- janet (10/5): - Beautiful accomodation & location.Everything we needed in the cabin,home from home.🥰
- Sarah (10/5): Idyllic, quiet and cosy cabin in a perfect location! The best start to our journey - The location was perfect and the property beautiful with amazing views. We wanted somewhere a little quieter than central Inverness but still close links to NC500 route and this was perfect.
The wood burner was so cosy and the bed very comfortable! Shower was fantastic. Very quiet and peaceful and really couldn’t fault this place at all! Nothing to fault!
- Beth (8/5): -
- Hartley (10/5): Fabulous - Super cosy place with amazing views! The bed was super comfy
- Jens (9/5): -
- Rochelle (10/5): - Quiet location, lovely space. Great facilities.
Hosts are easy to contact when we had a little issue to get sorted. Very happy with our stay.
- Janet (10/5): Chilled and comfy stay - Everything you could possibly need for a couple of nights before the start of NC500 ..
Elevated position so fabulous views ..
Liked everything about this place..
Nothing to dislike ..
What a find.. Nothing
- Dawn (9/5): Very comfortable overnight stay - Lovely comfortable overnight stay Nothing
- clare (10/5): Nice stop on route to NC500 - Lovely good sized space tastefully decorated. Had pretty much everything you needed! Cereals, porridge and biscuits provided. Loved the cakes from the honesty cupboard! As said before by other reviewers a gate across the side would make the back space perfectly enclosed for dogs. The back door does not lock. A drop of milk would be good to have.
- Kadlec (10/5): - Lokalita
- Moneo (10/5): - My partner and I stayed here for one night, and the cabin is beautiful. It is in an excellent location if you are looking to get away from the city. It was spotless and in perfect condition when we arrived, well-equipped, and with very clear instructions for everything. We especially loved the wonderful guidebook with local recommendations and the available parking space. Highly recommended!
- Ryan (10/5): -
- Christine (2/5): Reasonable for price - The view quite cosy would’ve been nice to light log burner for longer but no logs available however with storage heater was breakfast cereal and cooking facilities available good microwave Dolls house dimensions but then is cabin style accommodation
Well equipped very limited parking space so access difficult cars travelling too fast up and down road
Someone appeared to be sounding their car horn in early hours loud enough to wake us 3 times
- Hannah (10/5): Well equipped comfortable cabin - The cabin was well equipped with amazing views. It availed a warm cozy centre for our exploration of the many sightseeing highlights. Great location.
Host was very friendly, offering any support during the stay. Nothing comes to mind
- Patricia (9/5): Ideal for short stay, but wish it could have been longer. - Beautiful location, quiet but not far from town centre. Short stay prevented me from exploring the area as much as I would have liked, but a forest walk to a Pictish hillfort was, literally, on the doorstep. Couldn't get hot water in bathroom sink. Not a big deal for a couple of days, but it would have been annoying if I had been staying for a week or more.
- Val & Karl (9/5): Adorable Woodside Cabin - lovely location! - Loved the views! Woodside Cabin is very comfortable, we arrived very late so didn't get to spend much time there but loved the little time we had and would certainly stay again! 😊 There was tea and coffee provided but no milk - it would have been nice to have been able to have a cup of tea or coffee especially as we had travelled 12 hours!
- Alison (9/5): Lovely cabin. Great as a base away from the town but close enough. Views are magnificent - Fantastic location. Great cabin that’s just the right size for us two and our dog. Everything you need and great value for money. Location. Views. Access to walks. Peace and quiet.
- Jonathan (9/5): A Little gem of a cabin - Spotless ,modern cabin ,ideally located in a rural setting but close to the centre of Inverness. Well equipped with everything on hand to ensure a comfortable stay. The owners have tried hard to provide a top quality cabin and it’s a little gem
- Joanna (8/5): - Great place , amazing views Cobwebs and dog hair everywhere
- Ryding (10/5): -
- Ryding (10/5): - The hosts are very helpful. The cabin is nice ,clean and well equipped. The view over Inverness on a night time is amazing Nothing
- Julie (10/5): - Location, amazing views, lovely cabin, well designed
- Allan (10/5): Loved this cosy cabin - Loved absolutely everything about this stunning cabin, clean. compact with every modern convenience you need.
What a sleep we got, the beds and pillows were so comfortable. 5*
Shops and ameneties just 5/10 minutes away
Loved the log burner, added a nice cosy romantic touch at night.
The telescope was a nice touch as well, with plenty of stunning views over the city, especially at night with the lights.
Out on the deck in morning having a cuppa, when we were visited by a couple of horses having a drink.
Oh and a nice foeset walk right across the road
5 star * definitely be back, when next in Inveness. There was nothing we didnt like 10/10
- Peter (10/5): Little piece of heaven. Up in the hills overlooking the city, we absolutely loved it - The location There was nothing to dislike about this property
- Dallas (10/5): Woodside Cabin - The cabin was immaculate and equipped with everything you need. Location was great with Craig Phadrig Woods a hop, skip and a jump across the road; ideal for dog owners, with Inverness city centre so close, if you want busier.
The views from the terrace are great, particularly at night. If you're lucky, as we were, you'll get a visit from 2 horses, and they"re friendly. It all adds up to a really lovely stay.
- Eleanor (10/5): - Lovely little cabin, perfect size for 2 people and medium dog. Owners very helpful in resolving minor issue, getting back to us with the problem solved quickly. Ideal location - easy to get into the city for a mooch or into the woods to stretch the legs. Can imagine the outdoor decking/seating area being absolutely stunning in good weather - we had lovely views over the city and Firth when the fog/rain cleared but too cold to sit out! Would love to stay again! Minor preferences really - firmer pillows? A sponge/cloth for cleaning dishes? Slightly better size range of pans? Honestly such minor details - wouldn't change anything otherwise!
- Georgina (10/5): - Absolutely fantastic location clean and tidy and a view thst was perfect
- Eriselda (10/5): Nice, clean place and a comfortable stay. Would recommend. -
- Ryding (10/5): - The owners are very helpful. The cabin is in a lovely location, extremely dog friendly and very well equipped Nothing, it was perfect
- Chris (10/5): Cosy couch and stargazing by the fireplace. - The cabin was exceptionally clean and cosy. We felt right at home. Attention to details in the decor was astonishing. It's easy to see that someone put a lot of effort and love into this place. The fireplace was an amazing addition and views from the big window were breathtaking during the day and at night. .
- Hayley (9/5): -
- Alastair (7/5): -
- Chris (10/5): we had a very good time. -
- Iona (10/5): - Lovely cabin with everything you need and beautiful view.
- Mandy (10/5): Short break - Great cabin, very cosy and immaculate Nothing
- Jack (10/5): -
- ASoares66 (9/5): - The location is excellent with views over the city. The facilities have everything required and is very comfortable. The outside deck is exceptional to enjoy the view. The shower pressure could be better, but it's not a deal breaker.
- Lisa (9/5): Cosy little cabin. - Lovely little cabin & perfect for an overnight stay. We’ll set up with all you need. Owners kept in touch with all details & responded well to any questions. The garden was not enclosed for the dog & the road outside, had cars passing fast.
- clare (10/5): Amazing thanks 🤩 - Spacious, nice big couch, good size bedroom, had everything I needed for the night - nice outdoor area with lovely views - even had a visit from the horses on the field outside which was beautiful
- lorraine (10/5): - Loved the location. We were able to walk the dog in the woods across the road. The views from the cabin were fantastic.
- Howard (9/5): A lovely place to stay - The layout, open views and tranquility. Immediate access to woodland walks. Very nice decor and immaculate. A salad bowl would have been handy. The decking and outside space was not securely enclosed. As the road is close and fast it was too much of a risk with our dog to leave the patio doors open. A section of fencing at the rear end of the side driveway who have alleviated the need to keep our dog on his lead when sitting on the terrace.
- Lori (10/5): - The view the facility Shower was a little small for chubby people
- Caren (8/5): -
- Yeit Hau (10/5): Wonderful - Very beautiful place and cosy . It has a fire place although we didn’t use it. Nothing.
- David (10/5): Perfect spot - Such a perfect spot with everything provided for a comfortable stay. Outside terrace and view. That we only booked for one night!
- Rachel (10/5): - Lovely little house , perfect for our stay . The whole place was clean , modern and cozy . The bed was very cosy and comfortable. I would definitely book again.
The hosts were in contact with us also .
- Kelly (10/5): Perfect pre NC500 stop - Lovely views, idea for dog stay so close to forest with easy walking. Good run routes with trails and no mud. Well equipped and comfortable stay. The drivers along the road were pretty fast but luckily we had been warned by the hosts about this so could be prepared and keep ourselves safe.
- Lisa (10/5): - Excellent cabin
Beautiful views
Good location
Excellent shower
Comfy bed Everything was perfect
- Jack (9/5): Really nice place! - The location was great and it was a really good space. The sofa and log burner were superb!
Ps the Woodside treats honesty box was a lovely touch. The shower was pretty weak/ temperature was temperamental and the back door didn’t lock
- Manon (10/5): -
- Simon (8/5): - Lage, Ausstattung Könnte etwas sauberer sein
- Goddard (10/5): Amazing cozy place with stunning views - Stunning views. Very clean and perfect location for dog walks . Would have liked a fence
To stop dog escaping the back - perhaps consider installing on where washing line runs. The back patio door does not lock probably just needs fixing but did not affect our lovely stay
- VIRGINIE (7/5): -
- Louise (8/5): - Convenient short stay for onward travel
- Andrew (9/5): - Lovely quiet location with a nice view over town. Everything worked as it should. Great hosts. A bigger tabe to eat at would be good.
- Lisa (9/5): Decent sized cabin in a good location - Location is great and the view was lovely. Nice place to stay. Had a slight issue on check in and got a reply straight away. Woodlands across the road which was good for walking the dog. Main downside was the back area was not secure for a dog, would have been better with a small fence/gate. The road outside wasnt an issue but the cars going past do so at speed so have to be careful pulling out in the car, a mirror to see what is coming up/down the road would be handy.
- ASoares66 (10/5): Recommend for a quiet weekend for two - The location is good with some good views, also very quiet. The space is homely and very well organised for a comfortable stay. I enjoyed the deck outside too. The initial instructions from the owners were quite detailed and easy to follow for location and access into the property. I could not lock the patio door, which was a little concerning, and it was too late to message the owner. It was quite hot when i arrived, so i had to open doors wide for a while to cool down the place.

- Experienced (9/5): Cute cabin near Inverness - Really nice cozy wee cabin. Well furnished. A bit out of the way but that is part of its appeal.
- Sally (10/5): - Stunning location, fantastic views of Inverness, very comfortable. . 5 minutes drive to shops, pubs etc .
- Yolanda (10/5): - Beautiful view and tidiness
- Malcolm (8/5): - Great setting Could do with a small table
- Markus (10/5): -
- Barbara (8/5): In die Jahre gekommen, aber charmant. - Große Terrasse. Ruhige Lage.
- Caroline (10/5): Cosy, comfortable stay with everything you need and more! - The property was fantastic, had all you needed plus more. Cosy and comfortable, peaceful with amazing views.
- Sam (10/5): Lovely cozy and quiet cabin. - All the facilities were fantastic and the cabin was cozy and quiet. Wonderful views and Ali and Kaya were great with communication.
- Andrew (10/5): Cosy weekend getaway! - Great view and facilities. Really nicely decorated. Log burner was great. Made it feel really cosy. No issues finding it or gaining access. Tap was abit stiff in the bathroom but nothing major, due to the long nights in the summer, a blackout blind would have been nice in the bedroom. My Mrs is a light sleeper and can wake up with the early morning light.
- Emma (6/5): Ok fir 2 nights anythjng longer would have been an issue - Remote.. living area was comfortable Shower was poor also needed more towels could do with a fresh lick of paint and they need to upgrade the kitchen utensils no scissors and 1 wine glass. Had to do a late check in due to last guess which wasn’t ideal.
- Kyle (10/5): -
- Sabrina (10/5): Lovely cabin close to town! - We loved this cabin! Check in was very easy (key box) and so was the contact with the owner before and during our stay. Ever question was answered immediately and there was a booklet provided inside the cabin with helpful information. The cabin was clean, comfortable and well equipped. There is a parking spot directly infront of the cabin and it’s close to town (10 min drive). The view from the deck at night is great! As many people mention the busy street and that it’s hard to get out: we never had a problem with that. There is no warm water at the sink in the bathroom but the shower is great with lots of warm water. The bed was really good and i loved the smell of the bed sheets and towels so much!!! We definitely can recommend this place and hope that we can come back one day. Everything was fine!
- Adrian (10/5): Brilliant, the location, the accommodation and the hosts all superb! - Fab location and for 2 people the cabin is perfect. Everything is so well done and has all you need, including the ever vital corkscrew!!
Lovely view back over the city from the decking, in such a peaceful setting. We slept so well and the shower was great!
Ali & Kaya were ever so helpful and very prompt with answering questions. They even arranged a Taxi for us to the City. Taxi just over a tenner each way so great for going out for a wee drink! We had a wonderful experience in the short time we were there and would love to return. Having to leave after one night!! Would have happily stayed there for a week, and will stay again if returning to Inverness.
Also would have loved to have gone on the woodland walks behind the cabin.
- Edwina (10/5): -
- Derek (6/5): We felt it was poor value for money spent. - The curtains in the living room were very nice. It felt as though the owners had lost interest in this project. The shower room smells mouldy and while there is an extractor fan, there is no openable window and hence remains damp with black mould around edges of shower cubicle. Locking the back door was difficult. The outdoor space at the rear is lacklustre with weeds and plastic flowers. The ‘view’ is basically hidden by neighbours tall trees.
- Edwina (8/5): -
- love (10/5): - I loved the location, the view and most of all the cakes. Nothing
- Lauren (10/5): Lovely location, beautiful view - It was a very comfortable place, with a lovely view. We loved watching the sheep and horses walking by our door. It was so lovely to have the wood burning fireplace and the provided wood.
- Steve (9/5): Excellent. Even better with suggestions above. - Location, size, comfort, view. Log burner. Felt very special! Great place. Loved it. Tricky to eat a meal with no table other than folding occasional table. Some lap trays, or better still a larger table or second bar stool (folding if needbe) to allow 2 to yse the countertop would have been handy. A patio table would also be a good addition for the summer. Hot water was a bit hit and miss - didn’t seem to last long couldn’t see how to adjust it.
- Ana (10/5): - Mi-a plăcut foarte mult poziția cazării, posibilitatea de a face foc În șemineu. Patul și pernele foarte confortabile. Nimic
- Malky2019 (10/5): -
- Kathy (9/5): Cosy, mooi en leuke locatie - Cosy, mooi en leuke locatie
- ALEXIA (9/5): -
- Karan (9/5): Good stay. - The location. The view. The facilities. The hosts were very pleasant and responded well whenever messaged. There were pet hair on the bedding which was a unexpected, especially looking at attention to detail for all other facilities which were all very good.
- Bobbie (10/5): -
- Anne (8/5): Quiet location. Woods across the road. - We liked that this was a sort of stand alone cabin, we could get in with a code and had no hassles there. For the whole it was a quiet out of town property. The front door was a little tricky to work, and in the rain made it a little more frustrating. The actual postcode address was to a property higher on the hill.
At night a sensor light kept going off onto and into the whole unit and our bed room and it wasn't even controlled from our property.
There was no hot water in the bathroom sink.
The views are lost now by another properties hedge.
The one thing that really was not cool is that when I woke in the morning, opened the curtains there was a bloke leaning on the fence looking straight in.
On the pics on Booking.com it shows a grassed area with a BBQ. This is actually fenced off and assumably is the next door rental.
Lastly the actual "cabin" is close to the road, not what I invisaged by its name, "Woodside cabin".
- Irene (7/5): - A nice cabin and well equipped. Nice views and a spacious balcony to sit outside. No table to sit at for a meal indoors. No draining board at the kitchen sink and the hot water didn’t run very long. No hot water at the bathroom sink. This was supposedly to be eco friendly! The property was up a very steep hill and no shops or food outlets nearby. However the local Indian takeaway did deliver. The driveway was narrow and not easy to access with a fairly large car.
