Guest Reviews
- Howard (10/5): Our second stay - Spotless and everything that was needed was provided . Easy parking nearby Nothing
- Caroline (9/5): Well appointed apartment in Tweedmouth, close to town centre and shops. - Great location, comfortable apartment, We were generously allowed an earlier check in. Well equiped - all you need for a lovely stay in Berwick. Chocolates and wine were a lovely touch. Bit of construction noise - didn’t really affect us as we were out during the day. Toilet flush a bit tricky.
- Nigel (3/5): Poor value for money. Way overpriced for location and facilities. - Living room and kitchen good. It is located by a dock so can be noisy. It is not in Berwick, you have to walk 15 minutes or so or drive to get in. Not a great neighbourhood. Bedroom very cramped with a rickety old wardrobe that made it even more cramped. Heating noisy so had to turn of at night to be able to sleep. Shower a little unit that had very little flow. Toilet wouldn’t flush initially until owners husband adjusted it. Then dripped. The reviews made us believe a good option. It was not. Way overpriced for what it is. Unfortunately also found damp in the small inbuilt cupboard which was concerning (see image)
- Janice (9/5): - Excellent location for walks and town centre
Nice accommodation with everything you need for a short break Soft mattress!
- Gavin (8/5): -
- Steven (9/5): Nice Place to Stay - The location was excellent. The kitchen facilities and goods provided were very helpful. Not applicable.
- Ged (9/5): Great accommodation, great location. - Self catering ,great for me. Great location.
- Susan (10/5): A wonderful place to stay - Property was lovely. The perfect location for a visit to Berwick on Tweed, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Eyemouth etc. Quiet location but nearby everything we planned to do and see. There was nothing not to like. Our hosts had thought of everything.
- Linda (10/5): Great base for walking on the coast - The Lobsterpot was a great place to stay while we walked sections of the coastal footpath in Berwickshire. Clean, comfy and very conveniently placed for Berwick and beyond.
- Barbara (10/5): -
- Barry (10/5): Lovely place, great location, nice touches from owner. - Great value, good location within walking distance from the town centre. Some nice touches from the owner including a welcome bottle of Prosecco and chocolates. Handy guides, maps and parking discs to utilise too.
- Dave (9/5): Relaxing comfortable bolt hole - Clean, good coffee pod mc. (With excellent coffee! Nice little sun trap patio area in the evening. -
- Lynne (10/5): Exceeded our expectations in many ways. - Easy to follow instructions on where to find the keys for our cottage. Easy parking right outside the door. The cottage was beautifully clean. There were essentials like milk, tea, coffee etc in the kitchen and shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the bathroom. There was also a lovely welcome gift of Prosecco and Chocolates. Towels and bedding were of a good standard and the bed was very comfortable. Easy to use central heating control. Full instructions for all appliances in the visitors handbook. Lots of information leaflets on the surrounding areas to help. Nothing of any substance to be fair but if I was being extremely picky, the WiFi signal is a little weak. We had to add the network manually as neither of our phones or laptop could automatically connect. Once connected it was mainly ok.
- Macpherson (10/5): Extremely enjoyable stay and we highly recommend the Lobsterpot. Thank you! - We loved everything about the Lobsterpot. It is situated in a great and very handy location for visiting everywhere that we wanted to go. Around 10-15 minutes walk across the lovely old bridge from Tweedmouth into the old main part of Berwick with all or its rich history, shops, bars and good eating places and only a short walk up to the main street where we could easily catch the regular hourly x15 service when we wanted to travel further afield. The property itself is lovely and clean, cosy and very comfortable. We received clear instructions about how to gain access via the keysafe in plenty time for our stay. Good facilities, comfy bed, lovely host, handy shops nearby and great value for money. Nothing not to like. Lovely place, friendly helpful kind host. Delighted and would highly recommend.

- Jo (9/5): Superb -
- Trevor (7/5): Cosy - good location for Berwick and Spittal beach. - The sitting room was cosy: settee was comfortable. The decor could do with some modernisation - the shower was poor: it took ages to actually get wet.
- Oonagh (9/5): Our cottage was a cosy place to return to after walking on the coastal path, enjoying the views! - The hosts were very helpful about checking in, communicating clearly and letting us check in a little early so that we could leave our luggage and enjoy more of our trip.
The cottage was nice and warm and well equipped - just right for us! It was in a quiet part of town but an easy walk to the touristy bits. The cottage was absolutely fine - no complaints at all!

A well equipped kitchen that allowed us to eat in on a couple of nights.
It was warm!
Great location in a quiet spot just over the bridge from the town The one rainy day we had 😂
- John (10/5): John and Jackie's Autumn Escape. - Lovely little touches like Prosecco and chocs as a welcome gift. Milk and water in the fridge. Really well equipped kitchen with coffee machine and cafetiere. Even had a teabag squeezer!😁. Nicely decorated, very comfortable. Close to supermarket and takeaways. The host was very accommodating with our travel arrangements. We travelled by train and there is a bus stop 5 mins walk and a good service. I honestly can't think of anything to complain about or could be improved. If you really need to nitpick, tv reception was a bit iffy.

Accomodation clean, comfortable with plenty of amenities door keys a bit difficult to retrieve. Box lock a bit tempermental.

Very welcoming atmosphere when you come in. Easy to get in. Great communication from host. It is a short walk to town and beach, Asda 5 mins up road. Parking outside door. Lovely shared garden, but feels like it's your own area. Quite honestly, I could live there. Would highly recommend The Lobsterpot There was no faults for us. - Neil (10/5): Great stay - This was my apartment 40 plus years ago when it was first converted. Everything was as expected, bed super comfy, Proseco and chocolates waiting for us, even a pint of milk in the fridge. Shower is a bit feeble but usable.
- Nigel (8/5): Very good - the property had everything we needed, a short walk to the town. a few local shops nearby, lovely walks around the river, very friendly people, and parking for the car the setee was very uncomfortable. the front door was difficult to unlock going out, we didnt want to sit in the garden, but alot of washing hangingout that would put alot of people off
- Jen (7/5): Good - Fab location, property beautifully furnished, the only thing that let this property down was the shower! Shower
- Peter (10/5): We were lucky to find such superb accommodation - The small touches like the availability of essentials, the Prosecco, chocolates and milk. The responsiveness of the owner when we had an issue with the key safe. The cleanliness of the accommodation and the overall layout. Nothing
- Janette (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Good location,no problems with parking and an easy walk to town.
This is perfect for two,but there is a bed settee which our daughter used for one night which she said was ok for a temporary stay, and, of course once it’s up all floor space is used up.
It’s a very warm and well equipped flat in a very central position, and the bonus of a river view and walk on your doorstep A better light in the lounge, maybe a standard lamp
- Anne-marie (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about this place was fabulous. The perfect base for enjoying the beautiful area of Berwick. A special thankyou for the fresh milk and added treats of Prosecco and chockies :).

Lovely little place. Lovely Christmas accents added for the festive season. Hosts were excellent. Left complimentary fizz and made sure we had milk, tea, and coffee. - Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Philip (10/5): Exceptional - excellent all round
- Gashead (10/5): A Very Comfortable Apartment In An Ideal Location - A very comfortable apartment with everything you would need for a stay over several days. The efforts made by the host didn't go unnoticed. A welcome gift, all cooking essentials for tea, coffee and condiments, toiletries and more. The bed is incredibly comfortable and the lounge nice and cosy.
The location is ideal with free parking and a 15 minute walk to the best restaurants in town across the bridge. Holy Island and St Abbs half an hour away by car. We tried cycling to Holy Island but the coastal path was a bit too muddy.
Local shops nearby within 5 minutes walk.
Very strongly recommended. There was nothing not to like.
- Toni (8/5): Very good - Very responsive central heating
Having a teapot!
Location
Comfy bed Huge tv with no instructions
Lighting in sitting room
Didn't seem to be enough hot water for a bath
- Bethany (10/5): A beautiful country escape in the peace of North England; thoroughly recommended! - The Lobster Pot is a perfect size for a couple. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped with everything you could need for self catering. There is a lovely shared garden out the back which we didn’t use much but would be great for summer! It is very well situated, only 10 minutes walk from the centre of town. The lovely personal touches made us feel very welcome when we arrived. We had a lovely time and can’t think of anything we didn’t enjoy!
- Clare (8/5): Very enjoyable - The location was perfect. Quiet but near both Spital and Berwick. The welcome pack was generous and the flat was very well equipped. The tv had been mistuned and there were no bbc Channels and no instructions on how to correct it. As we were only there 3 days it wasn’t too much of an issue. The fire was also faulty.
