Guest Reviews
- Mawgan (9/5): Beautiful, period character property in a good location. - The house is absolutely beautiful as is the room. The bathroom is also gorgeous although the suite needs updating. The water gets very very hot which is great as long as you know. The hosts were incredibly helpful. Parking was a little tricky. We arrived on a Friday night and struggled to find anywhere to park. The bathroom suite needs replacing eventually but none of that takes away from the beautiful house.
- Callister (9/5): - Jenni was extremely helpful and willing to go the extra mile. The house was charming and full of character, the bathroom excellent and the bed very comfy. The location is perfect for exploring the nearby areas, particularly the Cotswolds and the neolithic sites of interest nearby.
- Dee (10/5): Charming, good quality house. - The charm of the property was as expected and didn't disappoint. The owners managed our expectations well with excellent descriptors with photos so there were no surprises or shocks. It was private and quiet. The location was excellent for our event we were attending in Faringdon. Nothing to complain of. Parking could be a problem as it's a residential area and as a guest, you're competing for a space.
- Val (9/5): A lovely combination of charming features and comfort. - Very charming with lovely features in a great location near cafes and bus stops. A small kitchenette would be very helpful to have breakfast.
- Mario (10/5): -
- Jayne (9/5): Hidden gem with beautiful character & quirks - Character & quirks Nothing
- Lindsay (7/5): -
- Jack (8/5): - Rustic charm and unusual set up. It was quirky but characterful. The heating was a little too much during the evening and I definitely burnt my backside on the radiator coming out the shower as it was so close so be careful!
- Marissa (9/5): Beautiful sleep - Was very well laid out nice details was lovely
- Karen (9/5): Absolutely lovely place to stay very pretty cottage - Beautiful cottage and gardens Surrounding area not so great unfortunately
- Jessica (9/5): Quiet and comfortable - Very comfortable room, nicely decorated, close to Market square and buses, but very quiet and peaceful steps down to landing and up to bathroom are somewhat awkward, but not a major problem.
- Caitlin (10/5): -
- Noelle (10/5): Lovely little weekend stay - The home was very clean and welcoming, nestled within a beautifully maintained garden. The setting and architecture were very charming, and there are plenty of shops and eateries within a short walking distance. Jenni was a lovely host. :)
- Monisha (10/5): A perfect cosy getaway for exploring the Cotswolds! - Such a beautiful house with a cosy, comfortable room and a perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds. We loved every moment of our stay! The host was wonderful- so welcoming, and even gave me some lovely flowers from her garden. The room was spacious and cosy, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the heated blanket was such a thoughtful touch. We’ll definitely be coming back to this little gem! Nothing!
- Sorana (10/5): Couldn't have expected anything better. - Both my daughter and I had such a lovely stay at this property. Absolutely charming. It's one of those properties that you'd discover all the features of the house and garden one by one, taking you back in time, teaching you a bit of English social history, but keeping you in a present comfort. On top of that we really appreciated the cleanliness, the room temperature (we prefer it not too hot, but have an extra layer of blanket nearby, if needed), hot beverage facilities, the beautiful bathroom, the design and decor, etc.
I had a blast discovering the charm of the town by foot and the surrounding area, by car. Highly recommended. Just because I have a way of dealing with food, I would have preferred to have a small eating area, but probably that's just me and others don't worry about these details.
- Emma (9/5): -
- Westleigh (8/5): Ideal location for touring immediate area - Great location beautiful private garden - helpful host Roadside parking can be problematical as to wether there is a spot

- Peter (9/5): - Friendly welcome, very clean and interesting accommodation Tv set up was patchy, told was recently changed to new provider and found most channels weren't set up to view.
- Carolyn (8/5): - Beautiful house.
- Karen (10/5): Beautiful room and excellent location for the Cotswolds - It was a very convenient location for a course I was doing at Coleshill. The bedroom was large and very comfortable and the house is set in a beautiful garden. Nothing! It was just what I needed.
- Wendy (9/5): Beautiful period property with everything you might need for a short stay. - Lovely period property. Comfortable room with all necessary facilities Lighting was quite dark in the room.
- Reena (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (9/5): Convenient and characterful stop-over - Convenient and comfortable room with easy check-in process Minor point: the TV was totally inscrutable! It needs written instructions for technological illiterates
- Jane (8/5): Very good - The room was large and very clean. The bathroom was lovely. The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated having an electric blanket. I also like the convenience of having a small fridge. The lighting could have been better. I like reading and none of the lights were very good. The chairs looked lovely but weren't that comfortable. I didn't go out in the evenings and would have enjoyed a more comfortable arm chair.
- Leanne (10/5): Highly recommended - would come and stay again. - Beautiful features and attention to detail.
Very comfortable bed - slept exceptionally well.
Beautiful gardens and setting Nothing
- Shubham (7/5): Beautiful place! - The property was really beautiful. It had a nice little garden, and everything was neat and clean. The wifi was too slow, to the point of being futile. The floor of the room was a little tilted as well.
- Harry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lulu (10/5): Perfect stay - Beautiful old house in centre of town. Noisy doors!
- Jennifer (10/5): Perfect stay in a historical home with awesome hosts who gave us our privacy. - Everything! So lovely and peaceful and private. Nothing
- Emily (9/5): Quiet, comfortable and quaint stay. - Great instructions of how to access the property. Very clean room and bathroom. Host provided me with an extra towel I needed to dry my hair. A lovely stay - thank you. There was no full length mirror, which I would have appreciated to make sure I looked good before I headed off to the wedding I was attending.
- Angela (9/5): Amazingly surprised - Beautiful place. Convenient location. Friendly host
- Michelle (6/5): Lovely old property - Lovely room but have never been asked to take my shoes off before entering before! Particularly strange as the carpet was nothing special. Good location for the Faringdon Shops and Restaurants. Took us a while to find as no sign anywhere and Reynolds House isn't recognised on Sat Nav. Room was cold. Radiator must have been put on when we arrived and took a long time to make a difference.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Would love to have stayed longer - It was a charming room, overlooking the garden.
I slept well as it was quiet, and the bed was very comfortable.
- Elaine (10/5): Fabulous, historic property - A lovely hidden gem, absolutely beautiful house. The room was really lovely, nice comfy bed and furniture that fitted in with the house - lots of love and care have gone into decoration and furnishings - loved the artwork. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be returning. Great communication with the lovely host x What's not to.like!
- Emily (9/5): Lovely place to stay in the Cotswolds - Lovely property situated in the Cotswolds. It proved a good base for us to explore the local villages and conveniently had a Tesco nearby. Bed was so comfortable and tea and coffee facilities provided, bathroom clean and we had a towel change during our stay. Host was also very good at showing us around the property and making us aware of the steep stairs which wasn’t a problem for us The only issue we had was that there wasn’t any heating on for the first day so we found the room a bit cold. There was a heated blanket but this was only useful when in bed. Apart from this minor issue we had a lovely stay
- Jason (10/5): Quiet, beautiful, walled property, tastefully decorated to align with the age of the house! - Great location to explore the Cotswolds, in the heart of a small town, most things nearby! Nothing
- Myers (10/5): Ideally situated for visiting the Cotwolds and surrounding area - Setting Location cleanliness and friendly host Jenni Nothing
- Patricia (10/5): Highly recommend - The location is perfect.
The room was very tastefully decorated.
Very comfy bed.
Good value for money.
- Alan (10/5): An idillyic location - Beautiful location and the room was stunning, Jenni the owner couldn't do enough for us Nothing whatsoever
- Sebastian (10/5): Peaceful and blissful. I would highly recommend staying here. - Jenny was very helpful and informative. We wanted for nothing. The property was so beautiful inside and out. Incredibly comfortable stay after a weekend camping.
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely house in a very central position for travelling to Oxford, Blenheim and Cotswolds Nothing
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Tripathy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (8/5): Lovely property and host ! - Beautiful period property in the middle of Faringdon, lots of character The location wasn’t quite for us with little interest in the immediate location around, perhaps with more time we could have explored further but a stroll into town revealed very little
- Ian (10/5): Peaceful, top rating accomodation - Excellent room, host, location, value for money.
Bed was so comfortable.
The best in Faringdon by a mile.
5 * plus all the way Whats not to like!
- Brian (10/5): Fantastic little property that has probably been very underrated, Excellent value for money - Jenni was excellent, gave us clear instructions. Room was lovely situated in an annex dating back to the 1600's. Really clean and tastefully furnished. Parking was available just to the rear of the property. Being an old property, although not a problem to us access up the stairs could be challenging for the less able or very elderly. Nothing much else not to like.
- John (9/5): Lovely place in great house - Excellent room with super comfy bed. Issue when checking in though was resolved fairly quickly. Room was very nice indeed. Location was excellent so will be using this again. Great personal touches all around No breakfast though not the end of the world for us
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful room and bathroom. Lovely furnishings. Spotlessly clean. Quiet and comfortable. The owners have thought about every small detail. Very welcoming. Would definitely stay again. Exceeded our expectations. Thank you. Parking is limited but we did arrive late so may be easier during the day.
One tiny recommendation.....A better quality shower gel and some shampoo would have been welcome but this in no way affected our stay.
- Andy (10/5): Excellent Value - The bed was very comfortable. The property is private and historic, it has been nicely decorated and the room was comfortable and well appointed. Immaculately clean. Parking was difficult.
- Robert (9/5): Convenient, comfortable, quiet, quirky, very English - History, decoration. V comfortable bed. Nothing
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): Very good - Comfortable convenient and clean pigeons cooing at the window at 5 in the morning.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Blanka (9/5): Superb -
- Geoff (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): outstanding, very special - WOW WOW WoW, stunning house in an amazing part of the country. Bedroom and bathroom and host were all outstanding . difficult to improve perfection
- Jo (10/5): Beautiful House - Absolutely beautiful property. A lovely warm and kind welcome from the host Jenni. Gorgeous room, incredibly comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean. Especially loved the bathroom, full of character. Very short walking distance to the town, but when in the property it was like you were a million miles from anywhere. So quiet. Loved it, and if we are in the area again would happily return 🥰 Nothing
- Gary (10/5): Beautiful interior, lovely bathroom, great stay. - Only popped down for a charity event, absolutely fantastic, beautiful interior, felt miles away from the world great escape.
- Chris (8/5): Very good - Very pleasant period house and friendly efficient owner. The owner went beyond the call looking for something I had mislaid. Very kind! No breakfast, but we did know that before we booked. So no compaint just comment that it would have been welcome.
- Jeff (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Really beautiful, well kept and decorated property
- Ovidiu (8/5): Very good - The overall cleanliness, comfortable bed and electric blanket. Definitely recommend it. Friendly and helpful staff. Quite cold during the night in the bedroom and bathroom. Radiator in the bedroom lukewarm.
- Judith (10/5): Gem of a find, beautiful property. Very warm welcome from Jenni and Derek. Responded quickly to query before our arrival - Very comfortable and clean. Decor beautiful. Well situated. Nothing!
- Muzaffar (10/5): Over all a nice and excellent experience to be lived in - House is well furnished, Well decorated and cleanliness of house is excellent. CLEAN washroom and house make a wonderful experience for me. PROPERTY OWNERS have a good moral and nice attitude. If I had a another trip to Oxford then I will again join them.
Highly Recommended Reception desk is not available
- Tanya (10/5): Brilliant - The hosts - Derek and Jenny - were fantastically helpful and welcoming, the room was immaculately clean and well presented, a great bed (with electric blanket😉), great bathroom facilities, a safe and easy to reach by public transport location, lots of nice tiny details in the room (fresh flowers by Jenny 🙏). Swan brewery (2 mins walk) is a great pub. I really enjoyed my stay, thank you very much again, Derek and Jenny! 😊
- Michael (8/5): I was working approx. 10 minutes away and it was very handy and direct for my onward journey. - Very comfortable in a lovely cottage garden setting.
- Donna (10/5): Absolutely fantastic - What a amazing place to stay, the hosts Jenni and Derek were so friendly and welcoming, they couldn't do enough for you. The place is decorated to a very high standard and impeccably clean. The WiFi is very good and the little extras you get here are outstanding. The bed is the most comfortable i have ever slept on and to have a electric blanket is a wonderful extra. The room is large with lots of storage. With so much character and history to this building, it's fascinating to find out the story of this place. Would recommend thoroughly Reynolds House in Faringdon, and we shall be back time and time again. Nothing it was perfect
