- Mark (10/5): Fantastic/comfortable/clean - Good price and early check in was good. Comfortable clean and close to the beach (5 mins walk)⛱️. - Stella (8/5): - Excellent location and great property for dogs with an enclosed garden
- Lomo105 (10/5): Exceptional - Great place, got everything you need. A perfect location for short or long walks. Also a peaceful location.
- Kay (1/5): We love Barmston and really wanted to find a regular place to stay, however, due to cleanliness and the cottage being ti - The cottage is in a lovely location with easy access to walks, the beach and a village pub. From April- November there is a shop at the local caravan park which also has entertainment and serves food. The property was tired, dirty and unloved.
The property had not been cleaned in readiness for the stay resulting in having to clean the same before could use the toilet/workbenches/fridge etc.
There was an unpleasant odour to the cottage which when mixed with the air fresheners made it smell worse.
The bedding was not clean with bits and hairs on the same. Luckily I had taken pillows & throws with me.
The crockery, cutlery and oven were not clean. We were left a cleaning cloth and sponge but these were dirty.
Before our visit I read a similar review re cleanliness and dismissed it due to the response from Tony who manages the place stating they’d had over 400 guests and no one had complained before about cleanliness.
I took some pics and could’ve taken more, however, I had already cleaned at this stage.
We were staying 3 nights but only stayed 2 due to the cleanliness. I did not contact Tony about the same due to not wanting it to spoil our stay.
I have attached pics and choose the 4 I thought highlighted some of the dirt. The dirty cloths that were left, the back of the chairs (this black dirt was on the fire blanket and fire extinguisher too), the cutlery drawer with dirty divider & spoons, and the soap in toilet that had brown stains at the bottom and also shows the dirty window.
