Guest Reviews
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent no complaints would stay again. - Excellent standards great location perfect for 4 friends to meet up. It’s only a suggestion… Maybe a bath mat in the bathroom.
- Louisa (9/5): Would 100% stay again - beautiful cottage, great location and responsive hosts. - Fallow Cottage is beautiful and only a short 5 minute walk into central Lyndhurst. The welcome hamper was not expected and greatly appreciated and the hosts were extremely quick at responding and helpful. The cottage has everything you need and more and is beautifully decorated - felt at home. The hot water stopped working one day and within an hour or two it was back up and running thanks to the hosts being super responsive and dealing with the problem quickly and even leaving a bottle of fizz and biscuits as a sorry for the trouble.
- Patricia (10/5): The perfect break - For a short break between three friends to spend time catching up, Fallow Cottage was perfect. The house is very comfortable, clean, relaxing and peaceful. The kitchen, with doors out to the lovely garden, was equipped with everything we needed together with a very generous complimentary welcome basket. Mark's (the owner) communication was friendly, helpful and professional. If you're looking to base yourself in Lyndhurst to explore the beautiful New Forest, then we would have no hesitation in recommending a stay in Fallow Cottage. Nothing
- Rafael (10/5): Superb cottage in the heart of the New Forest - Perfect accommodation and great location. Cannot be faulted.
- Tom (8/5): A great stay in the New Forest! - Clean, tidy, well appointed and a great location.
- Patrick (10/5): Excellent property and location - Lovely lovely house. Great location Not applicable. Will be coming again
- Gavin (10/5): Lovely, quiet, comfortable property. - Great location in the centre of the New Forest. Property was spotlessly clean, and heating was excellent - zonal heating meant we kept the bedrooms cool and the living areas warm! Lovely property all round. Minor gripe that I had to chase up the owner for details of the key box on the day, but he did respond quickly and entry was simple after that.
- Martin (10/5): Wonderful short stay. - Great location. Within easy walking distance of town centre and forest walks. Central to New Forest attractions. We know the forest well and this property makes a perfect base any time of year. It is comfortable, well equipped, clean and in very good order. All good.
- Colin (10/5): Wonderful - Close to where we wished to visit
Lovely welcome hamper on arrival
Very clean and had all amenities we needed Nothing
- Emily (8/5): Fantastic cottage with great amenities and extremely clean - Location is great to the high street
The property is very clean and spacious with well thought areas and decorated very nicely. Check in time could be a little earlier as with a young family 4pm can be a little late but that would be the only thing to mention and is very specific to our circumstances. If we didn’t have a small child, it would be less of an issue
- K (6/5): Good location to things we wanted to visit - Space as a family not cramped into hotel room Small driveway which also had 3 boxes of bottles in with ants crawling all over them so hard to get on drive and open car doors. Would have been nice to have towel rail in bathroom for towel when showering and rails or hooks to put them on in bedroom
- Antoon (10/5): -
- Jack (10/5): Excellent- we will return! - The location was fantastic, walking distance to the high street with lots of coffee shops, a couple of supermarkets and pubs/restaurants. Very quiet street, and the property itself was very spacious and beautifully decorated. We had a great stay and we will be back again!
- Sarah (10/5): A beautifully kept cottage within walking distance of everything you need - An immaculate cottage, close to everything that you need. Nothing to dislike
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house in a perfect location. Nothing.
- Sarah (9/5): Lovely house. - Great spacious house for a 2 bedroom. Lovely garden. Very clean. Great to have a dishwasher and products to wash up with, soap, dishwasher tablets etc.
Host was very nice, we had a small issue on our stay which they resolved for us.
Lovely decoration.
Fans were very welcome as it was warm when we stayed there.
Great location. The drive is very small, we managed to park our estate car on it but it stuck out a bit and you could then only get in 3 doors.
Somewhere bigger to hang towels in the bathroom would be good.
Instructions for appliances would be nice too, we had to look them up online, the microwave was a bit strange!
- Elizabeth (10/5): Fantastic property! - Great location, lovely decor, bright and airy, spacious and relaxing.
- Stuart (9/5): Superb - Very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to the High Street.
- Bradley (10/5): A wonderful few days at Fallow Cottage! 10 out of 10 - We had the most wonderful time at Fallow Cottage and will be back again. We had a lovely welcome pack and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Its a short walk to the shops and the high street and in a quiet road. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Really couldn't recommend enough.
- Linda (10/5): Great central, quiet location a few minutes' walk from town. Lovely, homely feel. Highly recommend. - Great location, away from the main road but a few minutes away from town on foot. Managed to park a small car on the driveway. House was clean and spacious, with a lovely, light kitchen diner, even in February. Would highly recommend.
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage, very well furnished in a great location. Nothing all good.
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brooker (10/5): Perfect In Every Way - Awesome stay. The cottage has been exceptionally well maintained and the owners have left no stone unturned to provide everything you need and more for the perfect cottage break.
Well located in a quiet road just a few minutes walk to the village centre and it's many amenities.
Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back in Spring to enjoy the New Forest in all its glory.
- Cathy (10/5): Had a wonderful few days with my grandchildren in this superb cottage so close to all amenities in this picturesque vill - Beautiful cottage, tastefully furnished and extremely well equipped. Very comfortable, perfect location. Thoughtful touches - Christmas tree and welcome hamper. Very minor things - Guide to using oven/ microwave would have been useful. Separate toilet would’ve been great.
- Chloe (10/5): It was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday with my partner. We had such a lovely time exploring the area and the hous - It was pristine in every way, furnished and finished like a proper house, didn’t once feel like a holiday letting. The bed was so comfy and the kitchen was amazing. Perhaps a couple more cleaning supplies, more cloths, dish cloths and a spray to clean the sides.
- Marilyn (10/5): very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend..(have already!) - great location easy walking distance into lyndhurst...plenty of local info and games supplied...generous welcome pack.
tasteful decor and modern appliances(instructions please)..plenty of crockery and good to have a dishwasher(with tablets).
- Gill (10/5): Wonderful break in the New Forest, highly recommend Fallow Cottage, can't wait to go back! - Fantastic location - less than 1 minute walk to the edge of the village to see the ponies in the New Forest & 2 min walk in the opposite direction into the town's high street with plenty of food outlets and interesting shops. Plenty to see and do in Lyndhurst including the 2 churches, tourist information centre with museum of New Forest life, Ferrari dealership and close by to Foxlease, a Girlguiding activity centre. By car lots to see and do including Beaulieu Motor Museum, Hurst Castle [suggest taking the small ferry from Keyhaven, pub is very lovely near the Quay too], Highcliffe Castle and Christchurch, Mudeford beach for a stroll, Bucklers Hard, Burley and lots more.
Cottage was superb and far exceeded our expectations, not only very clean and tidy, it was well equipped and thoughtfully laid out. Very quiet locations with lots of places to walk to. Couldn't fault the cottage or our stay
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Becky (9/5): A great stay in a fantastic property - It's a beautiful cottage in a great location -Lyndhurst has everything you need and the New Forest is stunning. Extremely well equipped, gorgeous decor, lovely garden, lots of places to sit and eat/talk/play games/watch movies as a family in this property. We loved the walks nearby and seeing the ponies everywhere and hired bikes one day and loved cycling in the forest. Tried 4 different beaches (all of which within half an hour's drive) and was pleasantly surprised that nowhere was too busy and crowded. We had a great week here and would highly recommend. I almost don't want to write this because it is such a personal thing AND it didn't stop us having a lovely week here, so please remember everyone is different in this regard. For us we found the beds too hard, but for someone else, it could be perfection, my husband definitely found it easier than me or my daughter, but that is very common isn't it and we found workarounds by sleeping on top of duvet and adding blankets, so all good in the end. At the end of the day we were on holiday, so it didn't matter too much, simply writing at Booking.com request for all feedback. If you had a really big car might struggle to get on the drive but it's a lovely quiet road, so no problem to be sticking out a bit.
- Elizabeth (10/5): A wonderful, relaxing and memorable stay and we would love to return one day. Thank you to the host - The location is excellent for shops and restaurants and for a nice walk. It is also quiet.
Very nice touch of a welcome hamper on arrival.
The cottage was everything we hoped it would be - very clean, modern, well presented and comfortable.
The cottage had a homely feel and we slept well.
Everyone's needs are accommodated, for example, there is a fan in the bedroom for summer months and nice little touches everywhere. Nothing could have been better. It met all our expectations.
The only thing I could possibly think of is that it was July and inside the lovely hamper was some milk, which might have been better placed in the fridge, but that is such a small thing to even mention, but it is the only comment I would say may be a good idea to do in the future.
- Nolawi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gaynor (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was absolutely perfect for our stay and visiting family who live nearby. It was roomy, modern and very clean. The owner's attention to detail was exceptional and the welcome basket of goodies was a very thoughtful touch.
Cottage was a short walk to the high street where everthing was so convenient (supermarkets, butchers, chemist etc). Could not find any faults
- Lynn (10/5): We will be returning - The property is a beautiful cottage and we loved the open plan of it all. Beautiful garden to sit in and plenty of birds to see. Was very kind of the host to have a welcome basket ready for our stay. Nothing
- Jennifer (9/5): A really great house, everything you need and close to local attractions. - Lovely welcome hamper, the house was exceptionally clean and tidy, well decorated and a great size for us. We were really pleased as soon as we opened the door! It was great that there was a high chair and cot available. It was great to be a short walk to the town centre and to the countryside. And easy to get out of the town in the car to places we wanted to visit in the day, short drives to popular attractions. Could have a fan for hot weather.
