- Sandra (9/5): Lovely property, very spacious and lovely location - Great location albeit down a country lane. We used our phone torches on walks back in the evening. Great pub nearby. All excellent, thank you
- Michael (10/5): Great accommodation for a nice and quiet getaway. Had everything we needed. - Beautiful and peaceful lodge. Easily accessible!
- Elizabeth & Joe (10/5): Relaxing stay in beautiful countryside setting. - Huntleys Lodge is a gem! Hidden away in the beautiful countryside of East Sussex, it is a wonderful place to stay. Quiet, immaculately clean, well-appointed with lots of thoughtful extra touches, a very comfortable bed - what more can you ask for? Rachel is a very welcoming, friendly and helpful host. All in all, we couldn't fault it. Nothing.
- Mei-Ling (9/5): -
- Natalie (10/5): Ticehurst Treasure. - It honestly felt like a home away from home. Tucked away in a lovely garden with everything you would need. We even had a delicious box of shortbreads supplied for us to enjoy...and we most certainly did. Nothing.
- Anne (10/5): Lovely location - can walk to Bewl Water and Ticehurst. Spacious property. Comfortable bed. - We loved that Rachel phoned us on our arrival and made a point to meet us in person as well.
- Janet (10/5): Most enjoyable & we hope to return soon. - Very comfortable lodge in beautiful surroundings.
- Nick (9/5): - Beautiful location. Lovely property. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back. I believe they have had a water leak recently. The smell of damp was quite bad.
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional - Location was perfect for us
The attention to detail was lovely.
Host was very friendly and very helpful My only negative was I couldn’t find anyone to deliver food to property
But we ate out at local pub which was lovely
- Patricia (5/5): Not up to our expectations - Quiet location was good Furniture was old and poor condition
- Ben (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Tiziana (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (10/5): If only we had more time to stay …just going to have to make that long drive back one day. - Fantastic location deep in Sussex countryside but only a short walk to a good pub serving great food. Walks around Bewl Water are so enjoyable. Nothing!
- Manda (10/5): Beautiful Huntleys - Stunning location - very quiet and ideal for exploring this beautiful part of th
e country.
- Helen (10/5): Fantastic place to stay. - perfect location within walking distance of Bewl Water and Ticehurst, plus the pub which is 15-20 minutes on foot. The property is beautifully bright and airy, with everything I needed and lovely views across the fields. Very peaceful and relaxing. The bed was amazing - so comfortable I struggled to leave it! it was a bit chilly at night despite the gorgeous weather, but the heating is very efficient. Normally I don't do tv on holiday, but as it was just me I enjoyed some movies in the evening - great to have that option with proper streaming services. the kitchen was also really well equipped. Rachel, the owner, was super helpful and really lovely. Very keen to go back!
- Sue (8/5): Good central place for visiting the gardens of west Kent. Private and quiet. - The cottage overlooks open fields and feels relatively private. It was quiet and dark at night. It was central for the places we wanted to visit. The sofas and bed were fine, but all quite firm.
- Ian (9/5): A superb place to stay. - The host was very warm and welcoming. Lots of little extras flowers, milk, shampoo, etc
Very peaceful location - no nearby roads or street lights. Much to see and do in the area.
Thank you Rachel Leaving.
- Gillian (9/5): 'Musical Retreat' in a beautiful location - Gorgeous little home from home cottage with everything you need for a country break. National Trust a plenty, Tunbridge Wells and Rye within easy reach. I booked this because it had a Piano and Guitar, and they both worked, so we had a really great time. Rachel and Alexis are so helpful and make you feel very welcome. The cottage is in their garden, and spring flowers and hot cross buns were very welcome on arrival. Plenty of heating and hot water, comfortable large bed. Could have done with a little freezer section in the fridge for my ice packs. Property located at end of the village, accessed via a small track, down to the garden with plenty of parking. Idyllic peaceful location. We would definitely stay again. We had a slight issue with the Front door key sticking in the lock, but it was sorted immediately by the owners.
- Graham (10/5): Lovely cottage, good location and good host - Lovely light and bright propert
- Helen (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay - Lovely property in an ideal location, very well appointed and comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, host Rachael very welcoming, nothing too much trouble. Wish we could have stayed longer.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - The location was perfect, so peaceful. The lodge has every you need for a relaxing stay. We would definitely stay again. Nothing, it was lovely.
- Nick (8/5): Very good -
- Charlie (10/5): Very accommodating host - There was everything there you could possibly need
- Francesca (4/5): Disappointing - A) Off road parking
B) Lovely bath tub
C) Idyllic views and setting A) Cleanliness poor - rubbish from previous occupants left overspilling in bin under sink (may have been left for a long time as there was a stink). One of the first tasks we had to do on arrival was to bin the previous occupants' rubbish. Not acceptable
B) Repeatedly run out of hot water - limiting use of bath. The shower - both temperature and pressure was poor
C) Heating - heaters were temperamental and the bedroom heater in particular did not work (making stay uncomfortable due to being below zero temperatures during our stay)
D) Lighting - a number of the light bulbs were out or on the blink
- Glen (10/5): The perfect place for a cosy, comfy getaway in the countryside - It was absolutely wonderful staying at Huntley's Lodge and Rachel was a fantastic host. The house was clean, comfy, quiet, and most of all it was cosy and homely. It has all the facilities you need for a couple of nights get away from the stress of every day life. The bed was comfy, the place was warm, and some lovely touches around like cute books and a working guitar and piano. Ticehurst itself was lovely, and would recommend eating at The Bell, which was only a short drive away. Really hope to return again. Nothing. Everything was perfect
- Reed (9/5): Superb -

- Margaret (10/5): A lovely relaxing stay in very peaceful surroundings in a charming cottage. - Everything! Nothing!
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eline (10/5): Charming cottage, amazing bed, peace and quiet. - We were warmly welcomed. The cottage was so charming, very clean and a big plus was the comfortable bed. The quiet was just what we needed.
- Antony (9/5): Beautiful Little Lodge - Huntley Lodge is a delightful little oasis set in the beautiful countryside. We loved the fact that so much care and attention has gone into creating a real homely feel to the lodge.
We stayed here for three nights and explored the local area, including day trips to Bodiam Castle, Battle Abbey, and the seaside town of Eastbourne.
There are two great pubs in the village, The Bull, which is walkable down the lane from the lodge and The Bell in the centre of Ticehurst village. Both were excellent for both food and drink.
Ticehurst village has a good village store and post office and a couple of small cafes.
We followed the advice to walk down to Bewl Water one afternoon and found the recommended sundowners spot.
We would 100% recommend this charming accommodation. Nothing everything was perfect
- George (9/5): A fabulous slice of country life - A beautiful bolt-hole, offering peace and tranquility in the spectacular countryside. The lodge was light and decorated perfectly, well located for quiet walks picking blackberries and close to a wonderful local pub. There's loads to do in the area, including horse riding, Bewl water park, and Bedgebury Pinetum (with "Go Ape"). Struggled to think of anything not to like. The only drawback was lack of a dishwasher but for just the two of us, washing up was no big deal!
- Esther (10/5): Absolutely perfect 😍 - Loved everything about this property - it was so beautiful and cosy and such a wonderful location, Rachel was such a fabulous host! Nothing!
- Lynne (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (10/5): What a little gem for one or two people. Extremely light and spacious property. Well equipped - Peace and quiet. The lodge was set in the grounds of the hosts home and surrounded by wonderfully lush planting. We were met by the host who was delightful and only too happy to help. Nothing
- Andrea (10/5): You will not be disappointed - The Surroundings it was very peaceful and pleasing to the eye.
The Owners where very Pleasant and helpful. What l didn't like and no fault of the Owners. 10pm so very dark
My Sat nav took me to the drive way of another house.
After a phone call and 100m down the road right hand turn just before the left bend was the narrow road to the lodge.
- Bernard (10/5): Great stay - So comfortable and lovely little touches like fresh flowers, yummy biscuits and spotless Left blank must be a reason!!
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pamela (9/5): Superb - Excellent
- Jim (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely breakaway. Extremely close to Bewl water and country walks.
Beautiful lodge. N/a
- Louise (10/5): Brilliant from start to finish - Communication from the host was brilliant, responded to messages instantly. Location was perfect and the property was clean and tidy.
- Sue (9/5): Nice accommodation in a tranquil location. - It was light and well furnished. There were plenty of good quality towels and nice toiletries provided. The lodge in in a very tranquil location but within walking distance to a pub. There is lovely walking from the lodge with Bewl water close by.
- Yves (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great! A lovely "peace nest" to rest within a very charming and delightful environnement. The owner was lovely, very welcoming and shows exceptionnal kindness and very warm humanity . No regrets at all.
- Charles (10/5): Sweet lodge in lovely surroundings - The lodge has everything you might need for a relaxing break, is very clean and tastefully decorated and is set in idyllic surroundings. We loved that getting to Bewl Water edge was a pleasant twenty minutes walk away. The hosts do things properly and the attention to detail makes a difference. Looking forward to visiting again.
