- Thibaut (10/5): Super accueil, logement plein de charme et idéalement situé, tout était parfait - Super accueil, très bon emplacement avec beaucoup de charme, tout était parfait
- MALVA (9/5): -
- Aneta (9/5): Aneta i Łukasz maj 2026 - Bardzo przyjemny właściciel.
pieszo. Jedyny zakupiony bilet na transport to bilet powrotny na kolejkę centrum-lotnisko.
- Mohamed (8/5): -
- Eren (7/5): The location was perfect . We were there on February . The room was so cold . The heater should open before we arrive . - Location
- Jyrki (8/5): Pariskunta Suomesta - Hyvä sijainti, kohtuullisen rauhallinen, vaikka keskustassa. Mukava ikkunasta seurata ohi kulkevaa liikennettä kadulla ja kanavassa. Kuninkaan päivänä todella hyvä paikka seurata ohi kulkevia laivoja. Mikroaaltouuni olisi täydentänyt varustusta.
- Stephanie (8/5): -
- Hector Daniel (10/5): Muy agradable! - La ubicación y la vista al canal…inmejorable El tamaño, y estaría bueno un par de elementos más….escoba, algún plato y cubiertos
- Tol (7/5): Good - Location was perfect No toothpaste in the room and it was cold.
- Joanna (9/5): We loved staying there mostly for the location and how quiet it was - We really loved the location; so close to the busy central area, yet on a very quiet, residential canal. The room is in an historic canal house and looked right onto the Herengracht Canal. David made us feel so welcome on our arrival and the arrangements made that morning for meeting at the property (made on Whatsapp) were kept to and he was there before us. He not only explained the facilities in the room, but told us a bit of history and recommended a few places to eat or have a drink. He was very friendly. Although my partner thought the bathroom was "ok" I thought it was a bit tired and could do with some work. For example, there is no shelf or hanging tray in the shower to keep your things so you have to put them on the shower floor. It could do with more towel rails too. The one is too high and I couldn't reach it! Little things, but they make all the difference.
- Amanda (9/5): Lovely apartment, very close to transport and would definitely reccomend - Lovely little apartment right on the canal side and within easy walking distance of the main train station.
Plenty of space for the three nights we stayed there. It has a little fridge which was useful for keeping drinks and bits for breakfast.
It had a hairdryer and plenty of plug sockets.
Its a really beautiful old building. Although it doesnt have a canal view (which the owner is very clear about), it didnt need it.
The owner and his cleaner were very helpful and communication with them was excellent. He even let us check out later which was very helpful as our flight was an early evening one.
Fantastic stay and would definitely reccomend. As it is an old residential building, with wooden floors and wooden staircases, it can be a little noisy when people are moving around, but this can't be helped.

- İpek (7/5): - Konum olarak ve ısınma konusunda iyiydi. Sorumlu kişinin ilgisi yeterliydi. Yatak küçüktü ve rahat değildi. Odanın içinde örümcek ağı ve örümcek vardı. WiFi konusunda çekim gücü zayıftı.
- Cristina (7/5): - David was very welcoming and accommodated our early check in. The room is cozy and clean, there’s everything you need. The location is great. The only downside is the noise. One can hear everything that’s going on in the street as if it were happening in the room, but you get warned about it at the time of booking.
- Laura (8/5): Ottimo rappprto qualità prezzo, posizione ottima , staf molto gentile e alla mano - La posizione Il bagno
- Loretta Ballas (8/5): Excellent location in a wonderful city - Location was great. David meet us at the apartment and was extremely helpful even for restaurants etc Bathroom shelving space
- Martyn (9/5): Perfect location, very comfortable, with no unnecessary “hotel type services” - The location is absolutely perfect. It’s central, but quiet and on (probably) the most beautiful of all the canals in Amsterdam. There are also some excellent restaurants and bars close by Nothing really. It’s quirky, which we liked but some may not (eg, if you’re expecting hotel services, then you’ll be disappointed)
- Donna (10/5): Loved our stay. - We spent 3 enjoyable nights here. It was nice and clean and felt spacious with beautiful high ceiling. The host responded quickly if you needed him and met us at the property at check in. He also advised us of a great breakfast place and we ate there 3 times. We also loved watching the children being brought to school across the canal in the mornings in the bike carriers. We had everything we needed here, thank you a lovely stay.
- Valentina (10/5): - Posizione ottima, proprietario davvero gentile e accogliente. Camera accogliente Potrebbe dare fastidio la doccia un po scomoda
- Bénédicte (8/5): I really enjoyed - The place is very nice. The house itself is very nice, typical, and ideally located.
There is no breakfast, but I enjoyed the coffee machine, kettle, the many tea bags and coffee pods, and chocolate ! I was a bit afraid about the outdoor noise, but in fact, the street is rather quite, and it was fine
- Jackie (9/5): -
- Eva (8/5): - Die Lage ist perfekt. Sehr zentral.
- Erhan (10/5): - Ev sahibi David çok yardımsever ve cana yakındı
- Zani (10/5): We stayed for a weekend and I think it was a perfect choice for a couple. The location was very accessible and near every - The room was very cosy and romantic, the decor was a mix of modern and vintage. It was comfortable enough. Everything was nice.
- Cristian Calderon (8/5): Excelente ubicación - La ubicación No había donde dejar la ropa, lo cual para estadías mas largas es una complicación
- Andi (8/5): -
- Sid (9/5): We loved the area and the people as well as our host and the cozy small room. - Quiet, on the canal, clean.
David was a brilliant host
- Emily (9/5): Superb - We loved our stay here! Perfect location, amazing, lovely and super helpful host! You don’t feel how small the room is at all. Very clean and tidy, we just had to get used to using smaller size towels but this wasn’t an issue at all. I would recommend this room to everyone!
- Bolman (7/5): Good -
- Cameron (10/5): Exceptional - Central, great little room that’s bigger than it looks, owner met us and gave us tips for the area Nothing
- Joanne (9/5): Lovely studio on a quiet canal - This is a lovely studio on a quiet canal with easy access to cafes, restaurants, tram line and the main railway station. David is a fabulous host who welcomed us at the property and was always available if we needed anything. The room was comfortable with a beautiful outlook. Would recommend staying here.
- Carlson (7/5): Great location but very small - Location is perfect—central, beautiful, and surprisingly quiet. Space is very tight, best for one person or a very short stay. It was not clear from the booking pictures or description that our room did not actually have a canal view.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Premium location in canals, great host, ground floor, cosy room. Nothing, would stay again.
- Patrick (7/5): Good -
- Susan (10/5): Loved our amazing view - The view of the canal was fantastic!! Could sit there all day and watch boats and people pass iconic Amsterdam setting. The room itself was bigger and more comfouthsn expected. Fridge was a bonus. It's also quite close to the train station. Lots of restaurants, stores, bakeries nearby Bathroom door was quite squeaky. A really minor complaint
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - This was the perfect place to stay and David was such a kind host! Place was very clean and the absolute perfect location.
- Zaragh (10/5): Fabulous - Perfect in every way! Comfy bed, clean room, perfect location and to top it all off an amazing, friendly and helpful host. David thank you so much !💚
- Séverine (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice room and awesome host! I recommend!
- A (9/5): Nice quiet room along the canal - Very nice location, close to center but quiet and relaxing area. The room is a nice antique design. Some nice touches like coffee machine, etc. Small but useful TV for Netflix, etc.
Very warm welcome and check-out from David. David also checked in throughout the stay to make sure we were alright and resolved any issues we raised. As others mentioned, the space can be a bit noisey from the adjoining hallway and other rooms. It's manageable however. The space is limited of course, but would love to see more shelves or spaces to hang or keep personal things during the stay.
- Paul (7/5): Lovely traditional house on the bank of the canal close to all the sights. - Lovely flat in a really good location. Only 10 minutes walk to central station and most of the attractions and sights are within a 15 - 20 minute walk. Edith was lovely and very helpful. The room was clean tidy and very well presented with good WiFi and a smart Tv with Signed in accounts for Netflix and other streaming services which was a really generous perk. It’s not a hotel but if you want a traditional house on the banks of the canal I don’t think you will find anything better for the price, location and condition of the room. The flat was very cold we tried to turn up the heating but it never got warm even with the lovely weather we had during our stay. The hot water was lovely and warm. We found the duvets very thin so with the cold room it made for a chilly nights sleep. Also it would be really handy to offer a luggage drop even for an extra charge. Even though the lockers at Amsterdam station were only 20Eur for the day and a short walk away we had to get there early as there are not that many available especially the size you would need to fit two reasonable sized suit cases. It gets really busy about lunchtime with many people not finding a locker at all.
- Leanna (10/5): Perfect - This was a beautiful wee room overlooking the canal, it was perfectly located. Couldn’t ask for more. The host was so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place. It felt like we actually lived in Amsterdam. It was a little noisy but we’d been warned about this and it didn’t bother me at all.
- Jessica (10/5): Staying at Canal Hideaway was perfect. It was the best choice I made for my first trip to Amsterdam - The location was perfect - it was close to Amsterdam Centraal and accessible to many other areas by foot. It was quiet, very safe, well-lit with lots of food options nearby.
The bed was comfortable, the pillows were soft and the sheets were smooth. I fell asleep quickly every night! The washroom was compact but was a good use of space and had the essentials included (hand soap, toilet paper, shampoo and body wash).
David was very kind to work with. He was easy to reach, courteous, and friendly. He was so wonderful to meet upon my arrival. Nothing I would change, other than maybe having a clock on the wall. Just makes it easier to keep track of the time instead of always running to my phone 🙃
- Molloy (10/5): Canal Hideaway - David was a very friendly and helpful host and the apartment was clean and in an excellent location.
- James (10/5): Comfortable and convenient - Excellent location: in a pretty, historic building, in the city centre but on a quiet street; in easy walking distance of station, museums, Royal Palace, cafes etc. It's only a small room but that was all that we needed. David was friendly and helpful.
- Gabrielle (7/5): Good - Lovely property! Quite small but that was described when booking. Perfect location
- Claudia (8/5): We could not have had a better location. It wasn’t roomy, but it was sufficient. - Fantastic location. The place was clean, though small. It was a good home base for our exploration of Amsterdam. It was tiny, no place to put toiletries.
- Wala (10/5): A view from haven - The room is super amazing, cozy and very comfortable…. The view of the canal was haven … felt like home and you just want to set and enjoy the view … David the host was really helpful and very welcoming such a great guy he even sent me a list of things to do and see to enjoy my visit in Amsterdam… loved everything Nothing all was great
- Phoebe (9/5): Superb -
- Tony (10/5): Fantastic stay - David the host was so friendly. It was a real pleasure to meet him. He gave us all the information needed plus he's a local so had a lot of knowledge about the surrounding areas. The room itself was very cozy and private. Great location and a beautiful area of the city. I would definitely recommend this place and will likely book again in the near future.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Location is perfect and host has many good recommendations also decorated the room for my girlfriends birthday 👍
- Aigerim (10/5): Stay was amazing, location is perfect, room is so cute and cozy. Many thanks to David for his fully support and hospital - Location N/A
- Pat (9/5): Superb -
- Benson (9/5): Superb -
- Ross (10/5): Great host, Great location, Great price. - Property was clean and ideal size for couple, well located to city centre but not to close to busy areas. Host was so friendly when handing over keys, and was very accommodating with check in and check out around our flight times. Noise from opposing hallway, however well detailed in description so were prepared prior to arrival.
- Gabriel (8/5): Perfect location, cozy stay. - The Canal Hideaway is perfectly located along the Herengracht, allowing any guest to feel a part of the city without getting bogged down in the crowds of tourists. It’s a cozy space with everything as described, and David was super helpful with recommendations and getting us situated. The room itself was as described, but it was definitely on the smaller side for the price. The same can be said for the bathroom. I understand that this is a prime location in Amsterdam and that comes with a premium, but it did seem a bit steep for the size and amenities.
- John (9/5): Would stay again. - Great location on the canal. Good communication, very friendly welcome and contact while we were there. Nothing.
- David (10/5): You will not be disappointed as long as you understand this is a room, not an apartment. - The entire situation, from the quaintness of the loction to the idyllic setting on the canal exceeded our expectations immensely. David, our host, was concerned and attentive to our every need and was very helpful with suggestions only a local can offer. The room was perfect for our needs and the location is unbeatable if you love to stroll around Amsterdam on foot and take in the sights and sounds and wonderful charachter of this beautiful city. The Canal Room is quiet, peaceful, and delightfully calming after a long flight. We had a wonderful time and will happily do that again if the opportunity arises. Honestly, there was little we can even recall that was even mildly disappointing. The bed was comfortable, the facilities were all we needed for a comfortable stay.
- Ling (9/5): Superb -
- Rizol (10/5): Wonderful - The location was excellent, we had access to anything and everything we could want. N/A
- Dragusha (10/5): Cozy room with an amazing view and location - We loved the table with the view of the canal and drank coffee/tea there first thing in the morning. The location was amazing, so we mostly walked around, unless we had to go to the east side of the city when we used bikes or ferries. Furthermore, the host was wonderful and extremely helpful; he always responded quickly to our texts with accurate and reliable responses. The room and bathroom are a little small and sometimes noisy from the outside, but we were aware beforehand so we expected that. Overall, we would choose this place again for our next visit to Amsterdam.
- Laurie (10/5): Charming and cozy. Steeped in history. - Quite charming and cozy. Steeped in history, it’s all about the setting, right on atmospheric canal. Meticulously well-planned use of space. Fair price, given the neighborhood. Easy Uber pick up. David’s a wealth of information about what to do and where to eat. We took all of his recommendations and we’re so glad we did! Helpful hint: pack light and live small. You don’t need as much stuff as you think you do🤣. And enjoy the experience. You might never stay someplace quite like it again.
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic place to stay. Not far from the city center but very quiet and relaxed area. The view from the room to the channel was beautiful. David was a great host.
- Jhellaina (9/5): Superb - This place was located on the quiet part of the canals. Therefore it was very peaceful at night and morning. It is best for people who like a quiet place to stay but is also located at the old town's city center. Walking distance to most of the touristy places and the AMS central station. A bit small with people with big luggage but we were informed ahead of time about the place so its expected.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional - We had a brilliant time in the Canal Hideaway, perfect for travellers and had everything we needed!
- Hanna (10/5): We stayed at Canal Hideaway for 3 nights and loved our time here. - We loved the location- it was a perfect spot to explore all that Amsterdam has to offer. Loved being right on the canal and being so close to major attractions! The host was friendly and helpful upon arrival and throughout our stay. Would definitely book again! Nothing- it was just what we were looking for!
- Sue (8/5): Very good - The location was great. We had a wonderful view of the very busy canal and really enjoyed all the activity. We were walking distance to everything we wanted to do. We felt safe in the location. The letting manager was very flexible with our arrival and departure time .
- Marc (9/5): Superb -
- Alexandru (9/5): Good - The host was nice, location is good, small fridge in the room, heater if it's cold, small coffe macine with a few capsules included. Bonus: the watter from the sink is good to drink in Amsterdam and it's verry good. Some noise from the upstairs rooms( the room is situated at the first floor of a house) but this is something that you can get anywhere. The shower is in the corner of the bathroom on the floor. Beacuse of this the curtain is not helping that much and you will have watter on the ground. They have a tool that you can use to push the watter towards the leakage after you finish which is useful.
- Peter (8/5): A great stay. - The location was great for those looking for a base to access central Amsterdam. 10 min walk from station and easy to navigate to from. The house is on a picturesque road and is quiet at night. David was very helpful with check in and recommendations . This is a beautiful old house and as such is not sound proof, any sounds were not unbearable and we felt this added to the character of the stay.
A hair dryer would have been useful, but certainly not a deal breaker.
- Manveer (9/5): Superb -
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location, right on the canal and easy walking distance to the central station and main sites of interest for a first visit. The host was very nice too
- Marie (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - The Canal Hideaway, was everything we needed. A cute little place right along the canal with a stunning view on a quiet street. We loved staying here and the host David was great. Gave us recommendations for attractions food and activities for our stay. Would definitely stay here again!
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent Location and David was really nice and helpful!
- Katherine (8/5): Very good -
- Macintyre (9/5): We had a great stay, the host was very friendly and helpful! Lovely location on the canal. - Great location, clean and comfortable.
- Grumpy (9/5): Superb - Location and view was great, host was great. Quite thin windows and street noise comes through
- Assuero (8/5): Very good - Undoubtedly the location. Next to train station, restaurants, coffee shops and sightseeings. Because I arrived at midnight at the property, I was charged additionally in 50 euros. That’s nonsense.
- John (10/5): We had a great stay at the Canal Hideaway and would recommend to any young person or couple traveling to Amsterdam! - The property was clean and in a great location! Everything matched the description. Tons of charm that made our stay feel unique and unlike every other hotel. The bathroom was small but we expected that so nothing to complain about.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Arnis (10/5): A good place to stay for few nights in a quite location. Plan to stay there again. - A perfect location - few minutes away from the Amstredam Centraal, but very, very quite with a nice canal view right in front of the doors and good places to have breakfast / lunch just around the corner (or, across the bridge - to be more precise) .
The room is not too big. In fact, it's quite ascetic - though there is a private bathroom with shower and bed is very comfortable - much better comparing to well known hotel chains in Europe.
The building is historic, which means one sometimes can hear some noises from other persons living there (like somebody climbing stairs), but that definitely is a minor thing - it just confirms the authenticity of the building.
David is very friendly and helpful person. It's easy and pleasant to communicate with him and to agree about the details.
- Abigail (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lewis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - It was very clean and very comfortable for the few days we went for, the host was really lovely and greeted us at the door I’d definitely come here again I can’t recommend this place enough !!
- Kimberly (9/5): Superb -
- Allan (8/5): Very good - Great location
- Singh (8/5): Very good - Not in a busy area but still close to everything with a cool view of the canal right outside. The host was super friendly and gave a great list of recommendations which were very good. Not their fault, but the sand from the canal got into our room through our bags and shoes (recommend taking off before entering). The shower curtain was also flimsy and fell down a couple of times, but still, these are small negatives for an overall amazing stay!
