Guest Reviews
- Doran (8/5): Exactly what we need to wind down. - Had everything you needed, beautiful and quiet. Lovely easy walks in the area. We are ex South Africans and only took BBQ meat and couldn’t use the BBQ, made a plan though so all is good. I would take your own tea, coffee and sugar as the ones on the shelf didn’t look inviting. Everything else was perfect.

- Stephanie (8/5): Great as always, I’ll be back again! - This was my third stay at the shepherds huts. Comfortable and private, super easy to reach the park and ride into Oxford. I don’t think the coffee machine was working and the instant coffee provided needed refreshing. Not a big deal, I usually bring my own when travelling anyway but forgot this time! It’s quite a walk from the parking spot to the further hut (the sheep shed) with luggage.
- Krzysztof (8/5): Nice quiet place - It was peaceful and quiet place to relax.
- McGuigan (7/5): -

- Christina (10/5): Perfect place to stay for an enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable break in the country - The Shepherd's Hut is cosy, stylish and has everything needed for an enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable stay. The bed is exceptionally comfortable. Bathroom is great with a powerful shower. The kitchenette is perfect and has everything you need for rustling up a simple supper, morning coffee and breakfast. The hosts are really helpful and have set the hut up with all the information you need during your stay. Popcorn treat that they provided on arrival was a lovely touch; great for a film night. Location is peaceful and looks out over open farmland. For those that like a spot of bird watching, there was plenty to see. Check-in was smooth and easy. It was perfect. There was nothing that I didn't like.
- Carol (8/5): Had a peaceful stay. Enjoyed the geese as breakfast neighbours! - Clean and in lovely location Drafts from windows and gaps in door. A curtain may be more effective than blind as blinds rattled in wind.
- Shirley (10/5): Peaceful and comfortable - Very cosy and quiet
- Sarah (10/5): Cosy, comfortable and very peaceful - Lovely cosy shepherds hut, thoughtfully designed and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The bed was extremely comfortable. It was everything we hoped it would be but more luxurious. Thank you.
- Stephanie (8/5): Lovely cosy stay for two, easy commute into Oxford - The hut was really cosy and had everything we needed. It was great to have some little treats waiting for us when we arrived. The directions were easy to follow, and it was a really easy drive across to Oxford Parkway for the bus to town. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the various facilities available like a fan, hangers, and smart tv - it was especially good to have so much packed into such a small space. Everything was clean and tastefully decorated. We could have done with an extra tea towel for washing up and a small shelf in the bathroom for wash bags. The wooden sign for the parking space could be more obvious.
- Weekes (9/5): - Peaceful location, wonderful views
- Benjamin (8/5): - Amazing location and beautiful sunsets A few bugs in the bed! But I guess that comes with the territory
- Jane (10/5): -

- Jan (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location, quiet and close to where we wanted to be for a friend’s wedding. Compact but comfortable and well equipped
- Michelle (8/5): Super cute but restrictive - Super cute little hut in the middle of nowhere Couldn’t unpack our bags because there’s nowhere to put anything. No oven to cook just a microwave on the floor under the sink .
- Wendy (10/5): Had a great stay. The characterful accommodation is in a lovely setting. - Peacefulness, characterful accommodation, comfy bed, location. Nothing.
- Sharon (10/5): Excellent stay in beautiful place - Easy to find, secluded, peaceful and quiet and cosy.
Clean, tidy, compact and had everything we needed for a short break away. Nothing
- Lynsey (10/5): Exceptional - Loved how quiet it was
- Simon (8/5): Great place for a short stay in this area. - Hut was quite small (as expected), but things were well organised, in good condition and generally we had everything we needed for our stay. Tea/coffee and other essentials were provided and useful upon arrival. Instructions on how to get there were clear. Some of the guidance in the booklet needs updating (e.g. pubs have closed in nearby villages or have specific opening times). The main door is draughty when there is a wind blowing (which there was).
- Paul (8/5): Realaxing - Peace and tranquility Walk from car to Shepherds Hut.
- Harvey (8/5): Very good -
- Cameron (10/5): Exceptional - Very cosy, great hut, clean and well maintained. Beautiful surroundings Arriving at night wasn’t super clear where to walk but wasn’t really an issue
- Connor (10/5): Throughly enjoyed our stay and will be back in the summer. - Unique location and extremely cosy. Will be back again
- Arron (9/5): Superb - Perfect little retreat, we thought it might be cold but there was a heater and it was lovely and cosy.
We were left some snacks and a bottle of milk, location is perfect and we were lucky to have perfect weather and the view was amazing and tranquil. If I had to be picky the shower was small , with no shelf.
- Stuart (9/5): Superb -
- Stuart (9/5): Superb -
- Arnold (9/5): Superb - Excellent location, near to all the places we were visiting. Peaceful, set in glorious surroundings N/A
- Katie (10/5): Highly recommended to anyone who likes solitude and nature. - The Location was beyond my hope for an escape. It was excellent. Quiet. Beautiful. Everything I needed was there. Wifi Excellent. Maps and Local information. All handled remotely without any interference. I could concentrate on work and enjoy the nature surrounding me in total seclusion. Brilliant. The blinds could only be up or down. A tiny gripe. They just need their mechanism sorting. Insect screens at the windows would have enabled me to keep the windows open at night. I sat in the dark to enable air as it got darker. It was particularly Hot when I was there.
- Philip (7/5): Nice and quiet, quirky place , ideal to relax away from hustle and bustle. - Lovely and peaceful location A little bit out the way
- Anne (9/5): Superb -

- Sorrelle (10/5): Picturesque and comfy country retreat. - Gorgeous setting in the middle of a field with lambs playing outside! The hut is perfectly designed and a cosy bolt hole after a hard day’s horse riding.
- Steph (10/5): Nice quiet romantic place - The piece and quiet. It was so lovely and not far from shops ect. The TV didn't work. There was sound but no picture but wasn't too bad as I had brought my tablet.
- Mr (9/5): Superb - Very quite and didn't see a sole I was a longer walk than stated , but i guess vehicle access is limited due to ground conditions.
- Kathleen (10/5): Perfect country retreat. - Lovely, cozy and stylish, with great facilities. Nice quiet country location. I loved it. You have to walk down a track to get to it, but that's part of its charm.
