• Bernd (10/5): Ein Kleinod inmitten von Freiburg - Die Lage ist top! Wenige Minuten zu Fuß in die Altstadt und zum Bahnhof entfernt, liegt das Haus mit Terrasse und Garten etwas versteckt hinter einer Häuserfront. Die Ausstattung des Hauses erfüllt alle Ansprüchen und ist dank der beiden Bäder ideal für Urlaub mit Freunden oder mehreren Personen. Der Bäcker um die Ecke hat sogar sonntags geöffnet und das Backgut ist sehr lecker. Der sehr sympathische Vermieter Herr Schönwald ist der perfekte Gastgeber und versucht alle Wünsche seiner Gäste zu erfüllen. - / -

• Bram (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was clean, all facilities and rooms were exactly as in the description. Everything to possibly think off you might need was present at the house. Special note to the fridge full of snacks which was prepared when we arrived. Also the host was very responsive and friendly, and the property is located super close to the city center. 10/10 experience.

• cécile (9/5): - La chambre était parfaite : emplacement idéal pour visiter le centre, propre, bien équipée. Les pièces communes très agréables. L'entrée dans les lieux est facile et même si on ne rencontre pas notre hôte, nous avons été sensibles à son hospitalité : wifi, encas disponibles... cette nuit a fait partie de notre découverte de la ville. Une belle expérience !

I stayed because I needed to take an exam at the Goethe Institute that is around the corner. Easy to reach by car and provided parking was available. It Saved me the headache to search for one. • Ronald (9/5): Turned out much better than I thought it would. - The kitchen is well stocked for those small items you need to cook for yourself, condiments, herbs and cooking equipment. The fridge is well provisioned with soft drinks, milk and beers. There is a garden and patio to sit and relax outside. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and functional. Overall being close to the bus, tram and rail station this gives very good value for the cost. Well recommended for anyone on a budget. The local area is a bit run down. It was bin day and there were many bags of rubbish on the street waiting pickup. I would appreciate a head board for the bed. However, this is not a big deal overall compared with the positives.

The host was quick to answer, very considerate in the timing of information and the provided goodies. Also it was great to have four keys and the key boxes outside which reduced organizational effort within our group. The rainy weather ^^' but that's definitely not the fault of Haus Schönwald.

There was surprisingly a lot of space in the room and the shared areas of living room, dining room and kitchen were spacious and tidy as well. Snacks were also offered on a donation basis. Since I had stayed in a hotel the night before, I would've liked to have shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom since I did not bring it.

• Galina (10/5): Beautiful, relaxed stay, great host - The room was beautiful and very spacious and well equipped. The bathroom, shared with only one other room, was just next door and clean. Everything was well thought through, there was tea and coffee in the kitchen as well as drinks and snacks against a voluntary donation. So I felt very comfortable and relaxed. I would be keen to come back! The location was very central in a beautiful quiet area. Peter the host was very attentive and friendly. Only tiny things, like a floor towel in the bathroom would have been nice.

Ideal situated near the historical centre with own parking! But very good contact with the owner! Atmosphere very cold - no useless decorations in the room.

• Eddy (9/5): nice place to stay and visit the city - nice quite location in the centre of the city. from a driving standpoint Freiburg is not the most easy city to get in with a car and thus getting there was quite difficult a very nice place located in a middle of the city and perfect to visit the city the house is a warm place and it was clean. als having a parking place under the building was very practical

• Claire (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful house with generous amenities provided by the host. The bed was comfortable and our host offered us tea and coffee in the morning, as well as having the facilities available during our stay. The shared bathroom is only shared between two rooms, so is no inconvenience. The location is good - only 5-10 mins into the centre of town, and the area feels good. I would definitely stay there again!

There is a common kitchen, living room and garden you can make use of and the rooms are very tidy and well equipped The host is extremely friendly, we arrived by car and were allowed to use his parking spot under the building, he provided a thorough explanation about the room and what to do in town in very good English , although he stated it wasn't that good :-), all in all the best value for money I’ve had in a very long time. I could really recommend it to everyone looking for a place to stay in Freiburg. Absolutely nothing

Though our room had a shared bathroom, it was spotlessly clean and not an issue at all. Without a doubt, I'll be returning to this place for my next visit.

• Fogel (10/5): Loved it so much that I didn’t want to leave! - First, the location was great! it was really close to the main train station so it was easy to walk or catch a tram to everywhere that we wanted to go. Next, it was very comfortable and cute! The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious, the facilities all worked great, everything was clean and organized, and the garden was absolutely the best place to relax. Lastly, the owner, Peter, was absolutely wonderful! He showed us how everything worked, helped us get settled in, was super kind and understanding, and was super fun to chat with. He also provided free snacks and drinks in the dining area, and was quick to provide help with whatever we needed. There’s not one thing I can think off that I truly didn’t like about the place! But I will say that the stairs inside are a little steep, so one has to be careful while using them. My grandmother who I’m traveling with did fall on the stairs at one point, so just take care on the stairs.

• Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - I was welcomed at the door and made to feel at home. The facilities are clean and everything works well. I was close to transport if required but I was able to walk to all the places I visited. Make use of Google maps and you will be pleasantly surprised.

There was a drinks and snacks fridge which exceeded all expectations and the coffee was top quality too. The only very small thing was that the stairs creak very loudly which meant I was woken up by fellow guests and also meant I was loud when I got up in the morning. However, it adds to the authenticity and character of the place and was fine in context.

The location is perfect, close to everything (train station, the old quarter…) and the price is super reasonable. It’s such a typical German house in my opinion 😁, super clean, warm and cozy. Even the pleasant smell reminded me of the house from my German parents-in-law 😄. The host is so nice, helpful and attentive. You can have free drinks, sweets and even ice cream. I will definitely stay here again whenever I visit Freiburg :).

The shared facilities were clean and well taken care of. The bedroom had everything - even hairdryer. The fridge was full of drinks and snacks which is definitely thoughtful. Definitely a good bargain! Parking nearby was hard And we had to park far away. We were not lucky with the neighbors who had a shower in the shared bathroom right next to the room at 2AM. Probably one or two healthy snacks in the fridge would be nice :)

Would definitely stay again.I - Peter, our host initiated good communication before we arrived and was on hand at our nominated arrival time. He provided clear and concise information, not only in regard to the property but to the local area and the town itself. Peter was on call to take any questions over the phone and due to the forecast inclement weather, he arranged a taxi to pick us up for our departure. A great host! No complaints, no problems or issues.
