• Mylene (10/5): Le lieu idéal pour se détendre, visiter les lieux incontournables de outlander aussi - C’est un hôtel idéalement situé lorsque l’on a une voiture, a seulement 25 mn de Édimbourg. Cela permet d’aller rapidement vers toutes les directions sans être dans les bouchons. Le personnel est très gentil, souriant. L’ambiance du bar est sympa, clientèle de fidèle mêlée aux touristes. Concerts, musique et restaurant indien sur place. Bonus une petite supérette attenante « le must »! Petit bémol: ne pas s’attendre à un petit déjeuner ou l’on peut se servir, les denrées sont limitées (petit dej à l’anglaise sinon c’est toasts et beurre (pas de confiture) cependant vous pouvez en acheter à l’épicerie d’à cote avec du pain frais sans soucis . Si vous voulez partir tôt, prévoyez un peu plus de temps le service du matin est plutôt long.

• Pamela (7/5): Cosy, comfy Cairnyhill - The things that we enjoyed at the Maltings Hotel were the staff were fantastic, a place you would want to return especially if you lived locally or passing through like we were. The pub had everything you need for a nice and relaxing time, with a lovely dining area it also has an outside area if the weather is kind, the WIFI was excellent and the cost of our stay. We would definitely return if we were in the area. I really don’t like to be negative but hopefully owners will take note as the Maltings Hotel has the potential to be something special. We were doing the FCP and the hotel was a perfect location, on arrival we were informed that there was no chef on a Monday after walking for miles we were disappointed as the owners could’ve emailed to inform us that no meals would be available therefore we had to get a delivery. Our breakfast was good, would’ve preferred to have been able to choose as there was no menu. Our room big was clean, bed was comfortable it has a modern shower, tv & heating however the shower overflowed and the floor was soaking, the shower started warm then quickly went cold which was surprising because it was very stylish & modern. Fix the small things and you’ll receive great reviews.

• Heather (6/5): - The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the room looked newly refurbished The new window was very poorly fitted and let in a howling gale, to the extent that I had to put my jacket along the bottom and a towel at the side. In the morning, the window blew open three times before breakfast! I have privately emailed the Maltings regarding this but unfortunately have not received a response to date.

• Gaynor (8/5): Apart from my small incident, my overall stay was wonderful, the place location is perfect & safe - Breakfast was not included in our booking, we had a choice of adding it later but we didn't as we planned on going out everyday early Everything was nice and clean, however, I had to ask when our room will be cleaned after we passed 2 days of being there, so the receptionist gave me some reason which I still don't understand why,but to me whatever the reason, its a hotel and cleaning must be done.

• Linda (8/5): Excellent, value for money hotel - Great rooms, spacious, clean with fantastic shower! Friendly staff and owner with a lovely Indian restaurant attached offering fantastic options of delicious food. Great value for money with breakfast included. Will definitely recommend and will return. There should be a menu offered at breakfast, as well as the English breakfast. It would be a nice touch to offer soft or well done fried eggs and ensuring all items are hot as unfortunately mushrooms were stone cold and fried eggs were cooked solid. It would be nice to have lighter options, including morning rolls with sausage or bacon, etc, or toast with jams/marmalade. Instead brioche buns were offered but they are not the same as morning rolls.

• Mona (7/5): En god natts sömn. - Bra parkering vid hotellet. Väldigt trevligt och proffsigt bemötande av kvinnan som checkade in oss. Och ordnade så att vi fick äta i puben trots att köket egentligen skulle stänga. Rummet var välstädat och tyst och duschrummet fräscht. Det var lördag kväll och väldigt högljutt på puben där vi åt. Duschen fungerade dåligt då vattnet bara kom sporadiskt efter en liten stund.

• Bridges (10/5): We're looking forward to a return visit to eat in the new dinning room. - The hotel is in a great location was very convenient and easy to find. The room was clean and well thought out, the bathroom and shower is hugh and brilliant, all parts of the hotel were very clean and well kept. The staff were absolutely brilliant and very welcoming, the food was amazing and the atmosfear in the Malting bar was just as good. , we will be back. Unfortunately we had only booked one night, we wish we stayed longer and used it a base to come back to as the other hotels in Edinburgh were a bit of a let down after staying here.

More sugars and milks in the tea and coffee station would be handy. Music was loud and we were lucky we didn’t have an early night planned as the noise from the band we would have had no chance of having one. Maybe a pre warning before booking that there was a band on until midnight would be something that would help future guests.

The only option for breakfast was a full English, not even a Scottish breakfast despite the fact that we were North of Edinburgh. No cereals, fruit or yoghurt. Ended up buying my own breakfast from the Co-op next door.

• Emma (7/5): Short stay near Dunfermline. - The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was big, especially the shower. No tea in the room, only coffee, I had to leave a note asking for tea. When it was replenished there was no milk. I didn't see a member of staff after checking in, their presence would have been appreciated.

• Baukje (5/5): Zeker niet voor herhaling vatbaar - We werden met weinig woorden ontvangen. Door smalle gangen beneden naar de kamer boven geleidt. Hotel kon ook zeker een volledige renovatie gebruiken. Buiten de kamer was alles nog van 30 jaar terug. De kamer zelf was iets moderner, en de badkamer was wel al gerenoveerd. Doe dan alles en niet een beetje. Ook werd er luide muziek gespeeld in de pub beneden. Op een gegeven moment ging dat uit. Schijnbaar ging er voetbal aan. Toen de wedstrijd afgelopen was ging de muziek weer keihard aan. Mensen komen naar een hotel voor rust. We hadden de hele dag gereisd dus waren wel opzoek naar wat rust. Hier lukt dat dus niet met kamers precies boven het pub gedeelte.

• amanda (1/5): Is this a scam? - nothing We paid £10 each for breakfast, in the morning we found ourselves alone in the pub with no cars in the car park. We rang and texted the number supplied only to be ignored. We let ourselves out and went on our way, 1hr 30mins later we were texted with an apology and a promise of a refund for our breakfast, over a week later no refund has been issued. Messaged again to remind them about the refund and have been left on read. I would not stay again and would encourage people to avoid this place.
• Joey (8/5): Flughafen Edinburgh gut erreichbar - Das Hotel liegt nahe beim Flughafen Edinburgh. Im selben Gebäude gibt es eine Bar bzw. ein Restaurant. Das Bett war bequem, es gab eine Auswahl an Tee und Keksen am Zimmer und das Badezimmer ist nicht groß aber sehr schön. Die Zimmer sind eher hellhörig. Das Gebäude an sich ist ein bisschen verwinkelt und in die Jahre gekommen (aber sauber und gut instand gehalten/ renoviert).
