Guest Reviews
- Ian (3/5): Very poor, won’t be going back - Nothing Dirty, what kitchen utensils there were , were filthy, whole property was dirty,2 towels between 3 guests
- Ann (10/5): - It had everything you needed for your stay.
- Zieliński (1/5): - Nothing Everything
- Dodson (8/5): -
- Zoe (1/5): location was good- disgusted by the rest. - The location. We had arrived in Huntingdon for my nan’s funeral ( drove from France ) and ended up having an even worse couple of days that we had anticipated due to this apartment. It was filthy, the bed sheet in the bedroom up the stairs had big stains on them, there was no linen for the sofa bed and yet we had booked 5 people. Crumbs in freezer , dirty fridge, dirty oven, mould in the shower, sofa and chair being suede ( extremely unhygienic) stained all over and as we opened up the sofa bed it was full of crumbs. Toilet seat broken and not the right size. Front door had no handle was broken. We asked as soon as we got there for fresh linen and no one got back to us. TV did not work. There was “ clean me “ wrote in dust on the blinds. Old coffee stuck to the bottom of a jar that we have discovered now this had been mentioned in a review over a year ago. I am waiting for booking.com management team to get back to me on this appalling apartment.
On leaving this morning we see a cleaner who had told up she has been on holiday so did not want to be at all to blame. We see it was filthy and she replied I go there now to clean.
We have sent all the photos to the email booking.com has provided us with.
- NICOLA (4/5): Disappointing- definitely not a luxury apartment! - Bed was comfy. Location near to where I wanted to be. Nowhere to park- other cars from a business were there. Bare light bulbs in bedrooms. 2 bath mats and 1 hand towel were all that was provided in terms of towels! No teatowel. Stair case to get to apartment was filthy. Description of location poor. Opposite Costa was fine but then above old bank- a visitor doesn't know what used to be a bank. Why not say above Garden City. Then you have to go round the back to find the door. Owners didn't respond to my parking query until the following morning- too late. Fan was pratcically useless but it was the hotest night this year. Would have been nice to have a couple of sachets of milk so we could make a cup of tea. Tea bags were provided.
- Ben (6/5): Comfy and cute, but some improvements could be done - Very cozy and compact but spacious Front door of the apartment looked like it had been broken into, and having no knob turn close without locking just using the key was worrying, toilet seat was also broken m, parking instructions may need to be clearer
- Russell (10/5): -
- Ondřej Josef (9/5): -
- Timothy (6/5): We were not in the apartment for long and it served a purpose which was to sleep. - No parking available. Towels smelt nasty. Fridge had a nasty smell. Toilet seat was broken.
- Claire (9/5): - Right in town It was very hot in the middle of the night and as we were in the centre of town you could hear people talking whilst walking to work on the morning- but this would not put me off from staying there again
- Angela (1/5): Didn’t get to stay there! - Didn’t use the property The property cancelled at the last minute as their cleaner phoned in sick. At the time they offered us a full refund and we had to drive back home as no other places to stay. Now they are refusing to credit us the money saying we did stay there when we never entered the property. They have stopped responding to messages.
- Shane (10/5): Excellent stay would recommend - Communication and access was very good and easy
- Oliver (4/5): No towels - Nice modern place in a good location NO TOWELS
- Samuel (10/5): -
- Natalie (4/5): Uncomfortable, sparse and soulless - The place was completely soulless and sparse, with plastic plants. There weren’t enough towels. There was not a hook or anything to hang clothes on. The beds/pillows weren’t comfortable, nor was the living room. The bedside table had a lamp but nowhere to plug it in.
- Ortiz (1/5): Terrible experience. DO NOT STAY HERE. - The check-in and check-out times were incorrect, and we ended up waiting for 2 hours with our luggage in tow for them to let us in. The advertised address was incorrect, and 2 hours after our expected check-in time, the host provided us with the correct address. The apartment was in the back of a very shady alley, and front of the apartment were homeless people smashing items with table legs. There were at least 3 people who looked like they slept in the alley. As we walked by, I had to physically shield my children from debris that was flying from the shattered things (lamps, pots, etc.). I highly suggest that no one stay in this apartment. It is not safe and the host are unwilling to help in any way.
- Clare (7/5): Nice, comfortable and roomy - The beds were comfortable, it was a lovely set up apartment. And had everything we needed for the night. The double room was two single beds put together and I kept falling through the gap.
Also communication wasn't that great, i wasn't aware I was moved to a new accommodation so spent a long time trying to get in the wrong apartment. I also had 3 different numbers messaging me with different instructions.
The new apartment i was put in is built in a graveyard so the kids were pretty scared and there is limited parking which is pay and display despite the first apartment being free parking.
And finally, the apartment is clearly not completed and has a few repairs that need seeing to. I think maybe these are just teething issues but over all it was a good experience.
- Carol (1/5): Appalling - We never got to stay the direction keep taking us to a building of flats that were very rundown with broken windows after 2 hours and seal attempts 3 phone calls 2 texts we had to find alternative accommodation as my disabled children were distressed and we could not contact the landlord
- Michelle (1/5): Appalling will never return - Location only Property was filthy dog hair everywhere floors hadn’t been cleaned not enough crockery or cutlery. The tv stand was propped up with cardboard not enough bedding provided all the crockery and glasses needed washing before we could use them the shower hadn’t been cleaned. Broken chair left downstairs not enough seating provided. Bathroom window was cracked. When I spoke to the staff they assured me bedding would be dropped off ready for the second night and a proper clean would be done! We returned and nothing had been done accept 3 new towels put in which were dirty
- Jonathan (4/5): Disappointing - Good location When we arrived at the property only 1 of the beds had linen on it with the other one not made. There was a pile of dirty bed sheets and towels on the floor of the bathroom and there were no clean towels. It appeared that somebody had started cleaning the property but not finished it.
I tried to phone DH Apart Hotels but they would not answer the call and I received a text message asking me to message my enquiry to them which I subsequently did. They then messaged with a number for the Huntingdon area team and said I needed to call them. I phoned this number several times with no answer.
I eventually managed to speak to somebody who arranged for the cleaners to return to the property later that evening to make the bed, remove the dirty laundry and leave clean towels.
It is totally unacceptable to arrive at a property which was not ready and had not been cleaned, especially at £142 per night. The initial customer service from DH Apart Hotels was really disappointing.
- Richard (5/5): Not the cleanest of places
This property is certainly not luxury - Great location Difficult to find entrance and parking
Not geared up for 4 people
Not particularly clean
Dirty crockery and not enough for 4 people
Hard beds
- Séamus (9/5): Good location could do with a light around the front door though - Great location. Parking available and free but depends on the time of arrival as there are some takeaways where people use the parking later in the evening It is a very dark (short) alleyway from the main street with some takeaways at the end so could do with some light
- Arthur (8/5): Very good - Clean and tidy. Spacious. Parking space was blocked off. Noisy area.
- Gillian (9/5): Perfect central location, clean & modern. - Exactly as the photos. Clean & modern.
- Yu (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (5/5): Nice place, but wouldn’t say it is luxury - slightly on the expensive side for what it is - Great little apartment (we stayed in apt B), with comfortable beds. Has all the basics facilities needed for your stay. It was a bit difficult for us to find, but we called the mobile number for help and were given directions straight away.
Easy check in and check out with lots of guidance on how to do so provided before and during the stay.
Fantastic location in the centre of town, great access to all the shops and takeaways if you don’t want to cook.
(Note: We stayed on a Saturday night and due to the location there was some noise, especially from people walking down the alleyway next to the apartment, it was a very hot day and humid night so we had the windows open too though - we didn’t mind the noise, but just mentioning it in case someone else is bothered by it)
Overall a nice place to stay for a night or two. Noticed some cobwebs on the ceiling and spiders in the living room. It was great that all the basics were available in the kitchen but there were tea, coffee and sugar pots, 2 empty (which is fine) 1 with old dry coffee in the bottom which looked and smelled like it had been there for about a year!
Unfortunately we were also unable to connect to the WiFi as it was down (yes we followed all instructions and contacted support who said they were getting maintenance to look in to it).
This became a nightmare as we had 2 boys with us who were extremely excited about a new feature on their games that they needed to be connected to the internet for to watch! Not only this, but the TV seemed to work off the internet too, and without it you could just ‘watch’ freeview which kept freezing and loosing signal.
We had spent the day at a theme park and were ready to just make something to eat and rest before going to bed, but having to deal with these issues were somewhat frustrating.
- Colin (8/5): Useful for an overnight stay - Good location and size It’s not really luxury so lose that from the description. Not enough seating for 5 beds
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was extremely clean and spacious.. it was in the heart of the town which was very convenient for pubs and shops. Just a short walk to the river too. There was free parking behind the property on a fist come first serve basis.
- Mario (8/5): Very good -
- Sandra (6/5): Nice place and great location - Place was great, only stayed for 2 days, I had requested for 5 of us, there was only 2 towels (I had to purchase some) WiFi was not working for first day, also would have been nice for the extra bedding to have extra sheet or a quilt cover. Supply correct bedding, correct amount of towels for the number of guests.
Some of the pans needed cleaning.
Also link sent stated Air-con but none in the apartment.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lesley (7/5): Super central location with parking but needed more help with the directions to car parking otherwise presentable - Convenient in centre of town but therefore a bit noisy late at night Shower room almost too small and corridor leading up to flat very dusty and dirty (builders dust)
- Wales (10/5): Great apartment for the night working away from home - Clean, modern, comfortable, affordable.
- Balasundaram (5/5): Passable - Location, cleanliness, parking etc. It is sad that there is no Internet connection.
After talking to the staff, I was given an option to try Vodafone mobile log-in details. Unfortunately, that was also very poor quality. I am surprised that this day and age, there is this property without broadband connection!!!
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mairead (10/5): Exceptional - Location of the apartment was perfect. Cleanliness was exceptional
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Mike (9/5): Slightly strange layout and a very small bathroom, but the flat was clean and modern - Modern and clean Nice kitchen
- Dave (8/5): Comfortable, clean, well appointed Apartment, hosts communication was excellent throughout - Central location, clean and well appointed
- Haleema (7/5): Good - The bathroom was warm Some of the towels had stains on them. I had to put it in the machine wash.
The flat wasn't cleaned properly. There was black hair on the kitchen floor and food from before I arrived. There was a broom but nothing to collect the mess with .
- Tony (9/5): Superb - Very helpful owner helping me to find the parking by phone Finding the parking was difficult. Hidden behind shops
- Jane (5/5): Soulless student digs, not a luxury item in sight. Pleased we only stayed one night. - The owners always answered the phone when I rang but didn't reply to messages thoroughly.
The property could accommodate 5 in beds. Beds were comfy enough although the bedding was low quality.
The heating worked well when it was eventually on but all the radiators had been turned off and there were no instructions for the heating so we sat in the cold before realising. This just shouldn't be described as luxury. It definitely isn't so don't expect high quality furnishings or Egyptian cotton sheets! My kids' uni accommodation is superior.
It was cheap and cheaply done out - we were limited in options in Huntingdon so we had little choice.
I was irritated that I specifically asked about the crockery situation as previous guests has indicated it was lacking. There were 3 dinner plates. For a property for 5? Three of our party were lucky enough to drink out of the 3 wine glasses. There are 4 dining chairs (flimsy and very wobbly) around a tiny table.
Despite the owners stating they had put a lamp in the living area/kitchen in a response written to previous guests who complained about the lack of ambience, it was missing.
There were no dishwasher tablets left for us.
The wi-fi NEVER connected.
The stairs are filthy.
There is parking but it is not reserved and it makes it less than ideal if you have food and bags to carry in.
I know this sounds critical but for a company marketing 'luxury' accommodation I'm sure they know they should be doing much better.
- Peter (10/5): Very enjoyable!! - Very spacious and clean apartment that was central with places to eat close by, free parking.
- Terry (9/5): Superb -
- Alan (8/5): Extremely Clean - The apartment was modern, spacious and extremely clean. Also well equipped with washer, dishwasher, iron etc.The owner was very helpful and accommodating. Felt the location a little unsettling at nightime.
- Grant (10/5): Stunning appartment from the 1800's - Everything the appartment was very nicely furnished and location was great Very difficult to find if you dont know the area
- John (9/5): Very clean and modern apartment in a great location -
- Sheilah (10/5): Lovely place -
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (8/5): This apartment was lovely and ideal for what we needed.Had a bit of trouble working out the parking but rang the agency - Very clean, great location and nicely decorated. N/A
- Cholie (10/5): Lovely stay thank you very much - Location is great
- David (7/5): Good - comfortable and very convenient for town - Historic Street location little noisy at night but otherwise ok
- Jeremy (10/5): Great location, super clean and easy pay - Newly renovated and super clean, close to restaurants and pubs with easy parking right at the bottom of the stairs.
- Claire (5/5): Just OK - Size and layout of flat was good.
Only 1 fork in the drawer?
Flat is for upto 4 people, would need double crockery if 4 were staying. One of the bedrooms had not been cleaned and had dirty sheets. Company contacted and photos sent.
Not acceptable.
Main door to properties needs to be fixed. Too easy to be locked out. Which happened to me as occupants of other flat did not follow instructions. Door needs to be fixed. Not a good position to be in for a lone female
- Kaiser (7/5): Good -
- Seamus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danielle (8/5): overall very happy ! - the style The rug hadn’t been hoovered. also location was very hard to find, however when I phoned staff for help to find the place, they were extremely helpful!
- Abbie (7/5): Good - flat was very practical hard to find the property
- Darren (8/5): Good value apartment with just one or two shortcomings. - Everything was fine about the apartment itself. Clean, spacious and comfortable. Parking is hit and miss, as there's only room behind the shops for about 3 cars. We were unlucky as there was nowhere to park, so ended up parking nearly half a mile away in a public car park.
We also struggled with the apartment lock. The key wouldn't open the door. Tried for 10 minutes and was about to phone the landlord but finally managed to get in. It definitely needs sorting out.
Also, a lamp in the main room would be nice as the main lights are too bright.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (7/5): new apartment with some snagging list issues - location, once you find it
owner helpful in getting heating turned on no mirror in bathroom
blinds very unreliable
tv gets interference and often unwatchable
directions to property pretty poor
freezer doesn’t seal properly and needs defrosting
- Gary (7/5): Nice flat needs a few tweaks to improve it. - as someone who travels on a weekly basis it seems to me that the owners are new to this business. Parking is an issue and by chance which isn't ideal. Other things that need attention are no tea towels provided. No tea spoons in the cutlery draw otherwise kitchen was ok. Bathroom is fine except there is no shaving mirror. With regards to billing be aware that although Booking show this as being a vat business it isn't so is 20% more expensive than you may consider.
- Lesley (8/5): Very good - clean and comfortable very hard to find
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional - location and overall quality na
- Dean (8/5): Very good -
- Martina (7/5): Good - The apartment is beautiful and good value, very comfortable beds and perfect for 4 or five friends .Really enjoyed our break.Had Netflix and WiFi very quick .Would recommend. Also provided towels and toiletries plus tea and coffee. It was hard to find ,its a new building some things need doing , no mirror in the bathroom ,no instructions for cental heating. No tea towel or kitchen roll .
- Tim (7/5): We enjoyed the apartment once inside and it was well appointed, but better information needed - Nicely presented, clean and spacious
Friendly agents Finding it and access to parking is challenging. Neighbours frequently blocking access with parked cars
A few niggles like broken toilet seat and lack of mirrors (esp full length). Limited toilet paper
Wrong access key location initially provided
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (10/5): was only there for one night, had no complaints at all, the apartment was clean, tidy, fresh clean towels, beds very cle - clean, tidy well equipped. nothing I’d be bothered to write about.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - well presented, very clean spacious apartment, providing everything you would need for self catering.
- Neal (9/5): Short Drive to Grafham Water - A clean flat, everything looked new.
Quiet location, but close to a varied range of restaurants. Instructions to parking could have been clearer.
Parking and entrance poorly lit.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maksim (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was amazing, clean and nice. Location was perfect, right in the center of the city! Simon is really nice person! He made everything for us in the best way and was really helpful and supportive! I would highly recommend to stay in this beautiful place as we really enjoyed being there!
