• Louise (7/5): - Location was perfect for visiting family. Comfy beds and some nice decor. Kids delighted they both got double beds! Lovely quiet location, so good sleep was had! Really appreciated having plenty of crockery etc rather than one of everything meaning it had to be washed up before next usage. The wifi code sent with the check-in info was not for the right internet provider. There was a different provider's code on the front door, but that also was incorrect. Emailed the contact email the first evening we were there, but have still not had any response to the email and we've been home a week. Whilst it's not the end of the world to have no wifi, because it was advertised and therefore expected, it was quite frustrating. Especially as it also meant the TV was not usable. Particularly disappointing for the 2 teenagers with us(!), but more disappointed that no one responded to my email. There was a pack of card in the drawer, but the game of Pictionnary didn't have the necessary white board pens, and the dart board only had 2 darts. Some of the door handles were loose, there was no heating in the ensuite as the towel heater wasn't working, so it was a bit of an ice box as was a snowy weekend, and grouting was crumbling around a tile into the ensuite every time we stood on it. It was great there was a washing machine, but it would have been helpful to have a drying rack - certainly wasn't the weather to use the aerial line outside (but the clothes would have hit the fence it was up next to if we had used it!)

• Amy (4/5): Not Clean, Neglected and Disappointing - The location suited our purpose because we were visiting family. It was easy to get off street parking for 2 x cars. The property had not been cleaned (carpets dirty, dusty surfaces and cobwebs with spiders everywhere). The fridge and freezer were off, stinking, and mouldy, with moulding chips in the drawers. The cooker was dirty with food still in it (looked like cheese). The pan draw could not be opened, there was no cleaning products, dining chairs were all flimsy and unusable, bathroom sink plug got stuck, upstairs shower was cold and went scalding hot only when water used downstairs (making it unusable), the front bedroom plastic wall facade creaked and banged as it contracted in the hot and cold disturbing our sleep, the wood patio is rotting so avoided using it and there are loose paving slabs which could easily give way on the patio. Steep drive not ideal for elderly members of the family. When I reported the majority of these issues on arrival to the host I was offered late check-out from 10am until midday (the first time that I had received a reply to this request) but have still had to pay for cleaning as part of the original booking fee, despite leaving it cleaner than when we arrived (because we had to buy cleaning products and clean it ourselves due to it being so unhygienic and unusable).
