Guest Reviews
- Robert (8/5): Near City, quiet & basic but reasonably clean facilities - check how to use the heating if cold - This was a very suitable property for our needs, being a family of 3 who like our own rooms. It was neat, tidy and reasonably clean with what we needed for tea-making, heating up food, basic cooking and living. Being relatively close to the city centre, we only needed to get an Uber at very reasonable cost to the "Offer Day" run by the University of Durham for our daughter. For this we started at "The Castle" which was jut as well, it would have been quite an uphill walk from the city centre itself! We found getting about easy, but didn't want to risk getting lost by walking from the property. The beds were comfy and everything worked! The water was scalding hot, which was great to ensure really warm baths in the chill of the evening in the house. The key safe was very sticky to open on arrival. It was a struggle to open but my husband did this, It is always a worry to get keys from a key safe, Here, even with the correct combination, it took quite a lot of persuading to finally open. The back door key is sticky to open too, so I advise entering from the front on arrival. The house was rather chilly! I guess we are cossetted southerners, so maybe that was just us. It was fair to say we weren't in much, but the chill in the downstairs rooms in particular was notable in the morning when getting a cuppa or at night, when sorting out supper (if we didn't go out). I could have called the owners to find out how to turn on the central heating, but felt it wasn't an emergency, so coped. There were no instructions however, as how to operate the "menu" on the central heating/water heating wall mounted device in the kitchen. I was not confident enough to try as I didn't want to do interfere with hot water. I had to buy a second jumper in the end, to manage sitting in the house but stayed warm with a hot water bottle I happened to bring along with me at night. In the end, We stayed at the end of April, it was still cold though. I left the property early to stay with friends on my last night there as I found it a bit dismal sitting in the chill and couldn't stay out all day. The facilities are basic to the point of spartan, but sufficed. For example, there was a single, partially used, pump operated soap dispenser in the main bathrooms, but no soap in the downstairs bathroom where my husband slept. The kitchen did have hand soap and a basic tea/coffee/sugars and milk hospitality tray with some biscuits - but just the minimum for a day or so. Naturally, you'd buy your own groceries, as needed, but it was notably rudimentary supplies. The windows didn't all have blinds or curtains.

- Melanie (10/5): Lovely clean house with great location for us. - Great property, my team stated the best house they have stayed in.
- Eva (6/5): - La casa es muy bonita, las camas cómodas y las habitaciones amplias. La cocina está bien equipada. En el piso de abajo hacía muchísimo frio, además, la calefacción solo permanecía encendida 3 h y no se podía programar.
- Lynne (10/5): - House waa very well equipped and very clean. 2 tiny suggestions was it would be better to provide tea towels (but this may have been simple oversight) and oven gloves. It was a

- Catherine (8/5): - Very spacious, clean house in a lovely, quiet residential area. Some minor issues with some fixtures/fittings (e.g. no mirror in one bedroom, bedside lamp working but broken, no soap in one toilet).
- Ana (8/5): - Just ok No basics like salt. No sugar. No basic cookings ingredients.
All good otherwise
- Rosemary (9/5): Ideal location for sightseeing - Loved the location as easy to walk into Durham.
Very quiet area. Kitchen & lounge on separate floors

- Ailie (9/5): Lovely modern house in Durham - The house was lovely and modern with comfortable beds. The location was great with a short and beautiful country walk into Durham. There were 7 of us and it would have been good to have more dishes and cutlery.

- Fiona (9/5): Lovely house, very clean and comfortable, would recommend. Just need light out back 😁 - Lovely & clean. Big rooms. Everything you needed. Mirrors in all rooms 😁 hairdryer. Having 3 toilets & 2 showers was great, especially as over 3 floors. Also nice having tea bags, coffee etc there on a tray. Arrived later at night. Keys are collected from locked box around the back. No lighting, hard to find in pitch black or see numbers on the lock.
- Jorge (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (8/5): Very good -
- Judith (8/5): We were comfortable and had all the space we needed, and the neighbourhood was very quiet. - spacious for the 4 of us, kitchen big enough to socialise while cooking, so we barely used the sitting room. The bathrooms worked out fine for us. We found a footpath that took us into the centre of the city very easily. We wished there were front and back doormats to protect the smart carpets and prevent the kitchen floor getting wet. We appreciated the utility room, but no hooks for wet coats. Being old fashioned, we thought a dustpan and brush would be useful, but of course the vacuum cleaner worked well.
- Susan (10/5): Fabulous stay.would stay here again. - The location was a bit out of town but easy to manage once we got our bearings. Download uber for taxis, they were amazing. Lovely place , can't fault it.

- Fiona (7/5): Good location/ suited our needs / some extras required - Location Needed more crockery and glassware for 6 people and more.
No sweeping brush and pan
No extra refuse sacks
Confusion over key box ( 2 in situ)
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Perfect family time away celebrating congregation - It was perfectly situated for a gorgeous walk to durham for congregation- a beautiful walk and a lovely house - 4 good bedrooms, one with an en suite a family bathroom and a downstairs loo. Garden was enclosed and had furniture for late evening champagne drinking! Nothing. There was a minor issue with a sink draining and someone came out on the day to sort- genuinely there was not one issue with the house
- Edward (8/5): Well kept spacious house - Spacious 4 bedroom house with a well equipped kitchen. Hassle free checkin key and instructions waiting for us Slightly out of town with a steep hill to climb to reach the property
- Madhana (9/5): We are very pleased with the stay - The property is located in a quiet area and was very clean and is only 20 minutes walk from the city centre. The kitchen cum dining area always felt cooler even after cranking up the heating controls. May be we should have used the oven more!
