Guest Reviews
- Gary (10/5): Lovely cottage in great location - The cottage was lovely with great views over the estuary. Clean, comfy beds, good kitchen facilities. The wooden steps leading up and down to the road were a bit steep and challenging for us in our 60's and 70's. The car park was rather steep to enter and needed guidance to depart from
Good to have a secure space though. Car front fender hit and scraped the road on departure a few times. Luckily no damage to car
- Michael (9/5): Comfortable Cottage in quiet surroundings close to Fowey - This is a cosy, comfortable cottage set on a quiet road, close to the Boddinick ferry. It has a comfortable living space and bright conservatory for sitting out in. It would have overlooked the river at one time, but the trees have now grown up largely obscuring the view, but pleasant none the less. The house was well equipped with everything you would need for your stay. The parking was a bit of an issue. If you have a low front bumper on your car, it was very difficult to get in and out of the car park with scrapping the bottom of your car, as the entrance is steep. The owner did say you could park in layby opposite, but that looked like the entrance to someone's drive. Also, you need to be aware that the last ferry back across the river from Fowey is at 8pm in the evening. So if you were thinking of having dinner out in Fowey you would have to take your car.
- Philip (8/5): We enjoyed our stay very much and had lovely walks and great weather. - Location good with a wonderful view. Road quiet when ferry stopped at 7.30pm.Accommodation provided all we needed. Jordan Cottage website stated there was a pub in the village; it closed last year. Website originally stated on site parking but it was actually a council car park across the road from the cottage with difficult entry and exit.
- susan (10/5): - A lovely cottage in a beautiful area.
- Gail (10/5): Restorative, uplifting, comfortable stay, wonderful cottage, stunning location beside Fowey river. - Absolutely stunning setting, riverside views and woodland, quiet lane, starry sky, hosts care for wildlife so it's lovely to watch birds, see bats, flowers and insects. All home comforts, many helpful items, china teapot and strainer ! To sit in the conservatory and be able to watch the river is dreamy, equally to sit out on patio chairs. Birdsong all around. Sunset colours over the river. . nights are blissfully quiet.. Cottage is handily placed, just approx 5 mins uphill walk from Bodinnick Ferry slip. Lovely pictures on walls. Useful local area information file , appreciated binoculars, maps and ID books, wonderful novel collection, great reading in comfy armchair ! Bed comfy, shower worked well. Many walks easily from cottage , through beautiful woodland, along Saints Way, along coast path. Fantastic beaches walkable distance away... Ferry rides are fun, easy few minutes float across to Fowey, then also can take ferry to Polruan ... Good bus service to Par railway from Fowey (20 mins )£3. Daphne du Maurier festival each May, with talks and walks in/around Fowey. Nothing !
- Caren (10/5): Fabulous and want to stay again soon. - Comfortable, everything we needed for our stay and we cooked at the cottage every night and all utensils were there. The cottage was warm and cosy with the most amazing views over the river fowey. The bed was extremely comfortable. Nothing could not fault it at all.
- Riçhard (10/5): Perfect place to getaway - Very impressed with the cottage. Beautiful views & garden, convenient location, everything you need in the cupboards, super comfortable and clean. The owners have really gone the extra mile here. The booklet of information was very helpful as were the maps & booklets with local things to see and do.
I'm already missing that conservatory! Would definitely recommend! There was nothing to dislike. 10 out of 10!
- Pamela (8/5): Comfy, quiet and good walks. - The conservatory with its view. Steps down to the property
- Gill (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable cottage with everything I needed.
- Leslie (9/5): Very enjoyable and peaceful - A peaceful location with lovely views and easy access to local facilities and walks Nothing!
- John (10/5): JUST GREAT - GENUINE COSY COTTAGE, CORNISH STYLE, PERFECT GARDEN SEATING
- Steve (8/5): Great stay really enjoyed Jordan Cottage and as usual Cornwall was lovely. - The extension -conservatory to the property makes the whole property work- great views and in the summer would guess even better with wildlife etc The parking is a problem- its ok and handy but maybe not for everyone . However the owners do everything in their pre visit message to ensure that they make this information as helpful as possible and although difficult it does work . Apart from that the cottage is extremely well prepared with just about everything you could need to enjoy your visit.
- Martin (10/5): Lovely chilled break!!! - Loved the location, Had everything we needed for a comfortable relaxing stay Garden overgrown and worried about dog at the end of the garden as no fence and a sheer drop, conservatory lovely but no comfortable seating
- Steve (9/5): Superb - Everything was there for us even a scrabble board for the rainy days and late nights. 😊 There wasn't anything to dislike.
- Mandy (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing quiet location. A spacious house with every need catered for, a true home from home in an incredible setting. Nothing!
