Guest Reviews
- Antony (10/5): -
- Catherine (9/5): Delightful location, peaceful, great for walking and cycling, fantastic scenery - Delightful location, peaceful; just what I was after for a few days' break.
- Richard (9/5): Ideal - Friendly, welcoming, homely.
- Guest (9/5): A lovely, relaxing break, very comfortable and nourishing for body and soul. - The breakfast was nice. The eggs were perfectly done. The layout and crockery were lovely. I liked how there was plenty of tea. :) The orange juice was a little bitter.
- Marie (9/5): A family led facility, extremely welcoming and a sense of authenticity. Information about the local area is provided, an - It is surrounded by lovely gardens, has a quirkiness about it with the warren of rooms and facilities. The sauna was a bonus after a long walk to ease the muscles. There was an honesty bar for those who would like a refreshment and the dining area was highly social. Aside from needing a bath to soak away aches and pains, nothing.
- Guest (10/5): Ideal retreat - calm and peaceful - Lovely property nestled in the middle of vast farmlands. Scenic, peaceful and an ideal getaway. With a short drive from the town center it is easily accessible to a number of pubs and restaurants. Ample parking space, cozy rooms, extremely warm and friendly host.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Alma (9/5): A stunning location in which to relax, unwind and to soak up nature. - Everything! The location is stunning, set high in the Yorkshire Dales, with tranquility and nature all around. The house is a lovely, old rambling property which has been converted into guest rooms. The hosts are lovely and they provided a hearty cooked breakfast every day. Nothing - I liked it all.
Be warned - It is not a 5 star luxury hotel, and fairly sure there was no TV anywhere, but I was looking for peace and quiet to read and go walking. It depends what you want from a stay.
- Paul (6/5): Very accommodating and easy going hosts. Rooms were clean and comfortable and location was great. - Location was beautiful and convenient for weekend event. N/A
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Stuart, Josh, and Denise made me feel part of the family, the most congenial hosts.
Lovely oasis in the middle of the fells..
- Brad (10/5): Wonderful stay in unique surroundings - Amazing dark sky location, not far from the village All good
- Bob (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff, comfortable accommodation and a great setting Nothing
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carrianne (10/5): Wonderful place, wonderful people! - We were all looked after really well, well tended to and the breakfast was lovely even though it was a super early morning wake up ready for the 3 Peaks. Only 15 minutes from the start of the challenge. Beautiful grounds, and brilliant facilities. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. Thank you all. Everything was just right. Some of the bigger guys of the group struggled with the size of the single beds, but it is what it is!
- Abid (10/5): Great place with great staff - Great location and beautifully restored building. Nothing
- Gillian (6/5): Pleasant - Limited breakfast choice
No tea making facility in room
No tv
- Lucia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abhay (10/5): Exceptional - The location is excellent and it's a very unique property in terms of its style. Very friendly people.
breakfast was excellent. Plenty of on-site parking is available.
- Thompson (10/5): Exceptional - Warm reception from the High Trenhouse team, lovely cosy bedrooms and an amazing breakfast. If you're coming to do the Yorkshire Three Peaks, this is the perfect place to stay for a good sleep before/after the walk!
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (8/5): Excellent -
- Marc (8/5): Very good -
- Roger (6/5): Pleasant - Location it was where l wanted to be I thought it poor value for what l had to pay.
- Ejai (10/5): Excellent - Breakfast was nice staff was very friendly and helpful and the property was lovely There was nothing i didnt like the only thing Having a kettle with tea and coffee in room even though you can go to bar and help yourself for free when you settled and got pj's it would just be nice to be able to do it room instead of having to go to bar
- Ina (9/5): Superb - Wonderfully situated quiet place in a picturesque location in the Yorkshire Dales. The place is perfect for an extended family vacation, or a team activities or a group of friends.
It is great place to stay for spending quiet time in nature, to meditate or read; suitable for hikes, walks, cycle rides, more intese outdoor activities or a wander to enjoy nature.
The room was very clean, warm and had everything you need. Shower was excellent too: hot, strong jet. The bathrobe was a nice touch too. The facility has a sauna - the best place to be after a cold wet day out.
The hosts went out of their ways to accommodate our eatly start of the day and breakfast was ready at 5:40am!
- David (8/5): Very enjoyable stay. - Lovely welcome - really friendly people; excellent breakfast. Having individual rooms with en-suite at the price is really good. Location is a bit out of the way but a short taxi journey from Malham village. The value for money of the accommodation more than makes up for the expensive taxi (£35) from the village.
- Andy (10/5): Great place to stay in stunning location - Fabulous location and lovely facility. Very friendly, family run establishment and would definitely stay again. Nothing, all good
- Tim (8/5): I would love to visit again. - A wonderful setting, high on the moor. Remote. Staff/owners were friendly, interested in making us very welcome. Delicious cooked breakfast. You need a car to get there, unless you are on a hiking holiday. I don’t think there were any pubs within a couple of miles, which might deter some people.
- Cowley (10/5): Close to nature, a spiritual home from home. - Peaceful tranquil place to come and let your mind escape. Three generations of the same family own and look after the property, which was very unique inside, having been renovated by a prominent London architect in the 1970s. They made me feel beyond welcome, I felt as if I had met them before.
A very special place, not your generic BnB, it has history and stories to tell plus abundant wildlife. It is miles from any busy main roads or towns, and next to Malham Tarn, a large high altitude fresh water lake. Has a resident tawny owl with chicks and cheeky foxes. Plenty of walks, situated within walking distance to Malham cove and Settle.
