• Caro Lusnia (10/5): Exceptionally friendly service - The room was cofortable and private, with a nice common area on the rooftop as well as options for AC. Everything was very clean and well kept. However, the highlight of my trip was the exceptional service from Ramya, the host. Not only was she very friendly but she went out of the way to help me book safaris to Nagarhole reserve and event went as far as taking me herself to the safari when the Auto driver did not show up. I cannot recommend her place enough. The place is close enough to Nagarhole reserve government safaris without being as expensive as some of the resorts, so it's good for traveling on a budget.

Remia is an incredibly kind and warm person who is always ready to help with anything you might need. She creates such a welcoming and caring atmosphere, and her family is just as lovely and friendly. The room had everything I needed - a comfortable bed, all the essentials, and a cozy, relaxing vibe. It was also affordable. I especially enjoyed the small garden terrace in front of the room. The food at the restaurant downstairs was delicious too! It was a beautiful and memorable stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming experience.

Une belle aventure en Inde, Ramya est chaleureuse, gentille et porte à cœur de vous rendre le séjour le plus agréable possible, elle essayera de répondre à tous vos besoins. C’est familiale, on s’y sent comme à la maison. Elle sait recevoir et le fait avec sincérité, c’est une femme formidable, très courageuse et mérite qu’on la rencontre ❤️ Le restaurant, c’est de la cuisine authentique, faite par maman, c’est hyper bon, surtout ne chercher pas à aller ailleurs ça sert à rien, manger juste en dessous, c’est délicieux et vous resterez en pleine forme ! On a mangé Plain Dosas et un plat typique du sud de l’Inde : Riz, Saaru (rasam), Sambar , Palya (vegetable stir‑fry), Pickle , Papad, Mosaru (curd), Payasam (sweet) Merci infiniment Ramya de nous avoir réservé le safari du lendemain matin, en jeep, c’était fabuleux, on y a vu 3 tigres, phaquochere, biche, oiseaux et la réserve est trop belle. Ta maison est très bien situé on y est très vite !

• Emily (10/5): Best place you could choose - Such a good place to stay. Room is very clean, bed is comfortable, warm water in the bathroom, AC and Vent. The owner helped me with everything i needed. I had food everyday at the owners restaurant. It was super comfortable because I didn't have to go somewhere alone as solo traveler. Also she organised me a driver to the safari. Everything worked just well. I felt like home at this place. The best things where the dogs in this area. They are so cute and nice. Also the owner is a very nice and kind hearted person. I would definitely choose this homestay again and would recommend to everyone also since this is the best and fairest price you can get in this area.

• Bartosz (9/5): Great place to stay for safari visits where you also experience the locals life, cuisine and culture - Main value of Arasu Homestay are definetly people that run the place. Even before the arrival I felt taken care of, willingness to help and organise safari, plan next steps in journey, get to know the city etc. really make you feel like you belong to the community even for the couple of days. Owners are really engaged and eager to help with every matter (I managed to plan my safari with them, get to know local cuisine, really good restaurant they also run and take care of some souvenirs). For this price one of the best deals I had in my whole trip, the rooms are modest but clean, definetly recommend given the price they ask. For the price I wouldn't change anything, however you may not find much in there if you're not willing to socialize and get to know local customs/life

• Fred (9/5): Best family stay for Kabini Safari - I was looking for a clean and comfortable budget stay at HD Kote near the Dammanakatte Kabini Safari Center, and Arasu Homestay fit the bill perfectly. It either takes 20 or 30 mins to reach the safari center from the stay in th morning or afternoon respectively. Ramya, the host, is excellent. Very helpful and caring. She had all the information I needed to accomplish my tasks and successfully complete both safaris. Rooms (with attach bathrooms) are basic but the best I've stayed at in HD Kote. It's ideal if one is only looking for a stay to spend the night. Room size is ideal for two adults and a child. There are limited rooms. Prior booking is recommended. HD Kote is a rural town with farms and forests, so one needs to be okay with bugs and bees that get attracted to the lights. Keeping the doors and windows shut from dusk till dawn helps. Air-conditioning ensures the room isn't stuffy. This is perfect for young families and solo female and male travellers. I would not recommend this to the elderly or the specially abled as the rooms are on th 3rd floor and accessible only by stairs. Food: One needs to step out. Both veg and non veg options within a few meters from the stay. Property is on the HD Kote main road on your right as you drive from Handpost and there is ample public parking for two and four wheelers at owners' risk. (Motorcycles bring your disc locks and chain locks, and you are good)
• Jakob (10/5): Lovely stay that felt like visiting family - Best, most helpful and kind host ever. She planned our activities, like the safari, and even went to special places with us on her motorbike! I accidently just booked one place on the safari, but Ramya managed to get both of us on the jeep without any extra charges! The food of the family restaurant is also very delicious and diverse. Shout out to her Amma. We loved the energy of this family-run business.
• Sjoerd (10/5): An unforgettable stay with amazing hosts - It was very clean and their restaurant was right below. Ramya and Pavan and the people around them have their heart on the right place. They arranged so many things, even very last minute. Also her whole family and friends were incredibly welcoming. We spent a lot of time together and they took me to amazing places to show me around. It felt like we knew each other for much longer and had so much fun. Definitely my #1 stay in India 🇮🇳🙏

• Sharath (10/5): Exceptional - Ramja was the best host you can possibly imagine. First of all she gave us a good feeling from the very first moment on the phone, helping us with bookings of safaris already then. She told us where to park and gave us assurance it would be safe, which it was. She organized every single trip we wanted to do. Her connections in the area are limitless. We basically asked for food, ayurveda treatments, and safaris, and she got everything organized and booked for us for very reasonable prices. In the end, she refused to take any extra money that she deserved so much, saying she just enjoyed having us there. The connected restaurant is also extremely good. A place where healthy food is available, veggies so delicious, and so many different nice dishes. The workers there share the values of generosity that Ramya was showing to us. The town itself is a bit worn down. But this also has charm or is an experience. We felt safe and inspired by the fish fried in the streets and the market that went on late night serving all kinds of delicious food.

The host is amazing and helps you with everything you can imagine (bringing us fresh snacks, organising our safaris and even taking us to it when our taxi driver didn't show up!) The room is large and very clean, and the terrace area is just lovely to sit out in the mornings and evenings. Also you can eat just downstairs at their family restaurant which serves delicious food for a very good price! We felt so looked after - it was great! If you are looking for an alternative for doing a safari you should definitely book this lovely place 😊 Nothing it was great!

Everybody tries to fleece money from you but not this place. Food in their mess was simple, hygienic and tasty. Room was neat, clean, comfortable. Hot water for bathing was really hot. Location is in a market and still within 10:minutes from kakanakote tiger reserve. Rooms are on second floor and no elevator, so older people may find it difficult.

Arasu mess: Homely, Healthy and pocket friendly food. Great experience and stays are recommended Limited Rooms: With only 3 rooms, one needs to book early.
