Guest Reviews
- Donald (10/5): Perfectly situated getaway! - Marcus and Fae were a joy to have as hosts. The breakfasts were superb and the historic house was fascinating. The view across the inlet with swans and the ruins of Aros Castle were beautiful. Loved every minute of our stay.
- Peter (10/5): Relaxed, friendly, very comfortable, great food, great hosts. Perfect - House is spotless and in perfect condition. Marcus and Fae are wonderful hosts. Breakfast is whatever you want, beautifully cooked and with homemade bread and marmalade. The view on the brilliant sunny days we had is spectacular and the house is within easy reach of Tobermory, Salen and Craignure (or Fishnish). Nothing could have been better. It was perfect. Just watch out for the tight right turn into their road if approaching from the Tobermory side.
- Alessandra (10/5): A gift of rest and respite. - It was a great privilege to get to stay with Fae and Marcus. Their warm hospitality felt like staying with family and the positioning of the lodge with its commanding views over the sound meant that, even whilst resting at home, you could enjoy the beauty of Mull’s surroundings. The food was delicious, Fae’s studio is a gem and my stay was incredibly restful and restorative. It was hard to leave!

- Steven (9/5): Great hosts. Nice room. Would go again. - Very accommodating hosts. Good location. Great grounds and views. Outstanding breakfast A little tough to find, especially at night.
- Claughton (9/5): - Had a wonderful relaxing stay at Glenaros Lodge . With comfortable beds, private bathroom, great rainfall shower. The bedroom had fantastic views over the Sound of Mull. Marcus and Fae were excellent hosts offering advice on places to visit including on the day it rained. If you wanted to relax in the sitting room there is lots of reading matter and a cosy wood burning stove. Lovely breakfast. Hosts couldn't have done more. Highly recommend a visit.
- Alistair (10/5): Wonderful stay at Glenaros Lodge. - Property very happily situated with a lovely view out over Mull Sound and the mysterious Aros Castle.
Marcus and his wife were quite simply delightful hosts. I found them helpful and attentive with a great depth of knowledge on what to do, where to go, etc. I was travelling on my own and was made to feel very welcome indeed. In addition the house was tasteful, homely and harmonious. Breakfast was nice with great sea view. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to the Isle of Mull.
Thank you, Marcus and Fae.
Alistair Brown There wasn't anything I didn't like. Car recommended which I was unable to secure due to last minute booking but is on a bus route between Craignure and Tobermory.
- Philip (10/5): A perfect stay in a beautiful part of the world - Location fantastic. Facilities were great, hosts were lovely and welcoming. Views from rooms were amazing. Nothing
- Pavel (10/5): - A magical place with very nice,pleasent hosts
- Pandit (10/5): - The hosts were absolutely amazing. Breakfast was great! The house itself was immaculate! Loved our stay and would highly recommend. Location is great for north mull but a bit far for South mull and Iona. Plan accordingly.

- Ken (10/5): Couldn’t have been better; can’t recommend highly enough! - Every detail was exquisitely chosen - the house was perfect. And the hosts were wonderfully attentive without being intrusive. A fantastic stay - thanks Far and Marcus.
- Duncan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lesley (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay, blessed with beautiful weather - Breakfasts were freshly cooked each morning using local produce, which were very tasty indeed. In addition there was fresh fruit, yogurt & cereals, home made bread and lovely coffee. The bedroom was really spacious with chairs and table in the window overlooking the estuary. Tea & coffee facilities in the bedroom, topped up daily, we particularly liked the biscuits! Lovely bathroom with traditional bath and separate modern shower. We also had use of the downstairs sitting room in the evenings with a log fire. Marcus & Fae are lovely welcoming hosts without being obtrusive, we would recommend their lovely home to anyone visiting the island. Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): Perfect - The house is simply beautiful, it is of the period with original door handles/coving floorboards windows with a beautiful warm and worn patina. Steeping back in time where items were cherished, polished and repaired - very comforting and relaxing. The view absolutely outstanding
Fae who made a delightful breakfast and was equally delightful to talk to I can honestly put my hand on my heart and say nothing was wrong
- James (10/5): Exceptional - The location is really good for travelling around Mull. Vety comfortable bed and fantastic hosts. The view out the window at breakfast is stunning. Everything was great.
- Lorraine (9/5): Cosy Glenaros Lodge - Beautiful accommodation, cosy and comfortable. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. The location was stunning with beautiful views. Breakfast was absolutely gorgeous, with choices of cooked or yogurts with fresh fruit and berries and cereals. The only fault i could fault was that it didn't have a big enough sign outside which made it very difficult to find in the dark.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Gracious hosts, lovely home & decor, delicious breakfasts. I would definitely come back!
- Sára (10/5): Perfect spot on Isle of Mull - Marcus and Fae welcome us warmly. We feel like being at home and that nothing is problem. We have delicious breakfast with fantastic view over the bay. Room and bathroom were both spacious and big. Also the location is very nice. And moreover they have lovely dog 🙂

- Fisher (10/5): Cosy beautiful cottage in peaceful surroundings. - I loved the house! It's such a beautiful homely place and the gardens are stunning too. Our hosts were so kind and did everything to make us feel comfortable.
Breakfast was delicious and nothing seemed too much for our hosts. Fae entertained my little girl so I could eat my food in peace which was very sweet! There was a lovely log fire lit each night in the living room for us and we had a lovely evening chatting with Fae.
The room was very comfortable and the decor was exactly how you would expect in a traditional cottage. The bathroom was clean and spacious with plenty of hot water and warm towels on the radiator.
Perfect place for a peaceful retreat on the beautiful Isle of Mull! Can't really fault anything.
- Jane (10/5): What an exceptional treat in every possible way. Thank you both. - Simply superb in every way. Location stunning, house and accommodation very luxurious but also comfortable. Great attention to detail in terms of quality of bed linen, range of teas/ coffees provided etc . Hosts very knowledgeable, extremely helpful- even managed to get us onto a fantastic trip to Lunga and Staffa that had been previously full. Nothing was too much trouble . Would stay there again without a doubt. Nothing could have been better - it was exceptional.
- Elaine (10/5): Beautiful house, inside & out. - Beautiful house with log burning stove & private lounge. Great breakfast, v comfy beds & a warm welcome.
- Paul (10/5): A wonderful Mull stay. - A stunning location with delightful hosts. Fae and Marcus were so welcoming and helpful. The house is in a stunning location, and you get to eat the lovely breakfast whilst enjoying the most magnificent view. A big bonus for us was the electric car charger that we were able to use overnight. All in all such a great find. Highly recommended.
