• Denis (2/5): Difficulty in accessing help in the first place was a bad start - N/A A cottage that had not been cleaned Bins not emptied No kitchen roll Heating set at 23 Vacuum cleaner that was full to overflowing Sofa that was nearly on the floor with hardly any padding

• Mick (8/5): Short Break - Needed maintenance to sink plug and it was sorted within hours. Tele reception poor in lounge but good in bedroom. Not much of a view from windows in flat. This property is a good base for a break but not to dwell in. We prefer a lodge to an apartment. Starfish shack is up a flight of stairs which is a problem for us. Missed that on booking.
• john (7/5): Comfortable , cosy and practical . - Location was good .Sea a short distance away, Very easy to get to distillery which was the reason for visiting Filey. A practical place to stay . The charm grew on me during our two day stay . The accommodation was good but the resort itself felt very artificial , as of course it is, but not really a complaint as we knew what we were BOOKING .

Great stay.the bed was comfy, and it had all the extra little touches. The only downside, was no outside seating area.

• Gary (8/5): Overall, great. - Decor was good, well equipped and quite spacious for two. I didn't realise when I booked that it was on the first floor. As we are both approaching 70 with osteoarthritis and recent hip replacement this was a struggle.

• Dean (10/5): Served our needs perfectly. - First and foremost the location, practically on the doorstep to the amenities, health club, pub, shop etc. Some units would be a fair walk to these but Starfish Shack is very well located in that regards and a short walk to the coast/beach too. The accommodation itself was as described with no surprises and we were pleasantly surprised and happy with everything within the accommodation. The site is self contained and semi private in regards most folk there are on holiday too being a holiday park, most units are slightly different to each other which gives some charm and character to the place with easy access to the beach and a decent walk or short drive in to Filey itself. We didn't get to try the on site health club and some facilities were closed due to our visit being out of season but as a whole the facilities looked ok. The 10 score relates to Starfish Shack primarily, the entire site would probably be an 8 for me. Being honest the site itself whilst lovely and serves it purpose very well just felt a little bit like the old TV series "The Prisoner" ha ha or rather akin to living on a film set, probably just me but being that it is purpose built for holiday lettings I guess what I'm saying is it didn't feel naturally placed, that isn't to detract from the place at all and it served our purpose for visiting and needs perfectly. The on site pub the The John Paul Jones was pleasant but the food is mediocre at best (from the only selection we had anyway) but tbh we didn't expect a great deal from a generic pub on a holiday site. Harsh maybe but just being honest. Oh also to add, I did message the owner directly and he was brilliant, very helpful. However the emails you receive from the site's anchorbayholidays, OMG too numerous and so long with repeated details forever.

• Deme (7/5): Good - Easy to find, good location, small problem with the fire alarm going off briefly on when we arrived but Anthony was very approachable and understanding and speedy in his response. Thank Anthony Unfortunately the weather was shocking for our visit so we spent much of the holiday soaked and were unable to dry off due to heating control restrictions.

May have been a tight fit x clean comfortable everything you need I didn’t realise it was a first floor flat, my mistake would prefer ground floor with access to sitting outside? Personal preference
