Guest Reviews
- Machteld (10/5): Friendly, Comfortable, relaxed and safe place to stay - A lovely, green, safe and friendly place to stay in the middle of Osu. Near shops and restaurants.
Nice spacious room, good bed, warm shower, ac and fan. Tasty, healthy and good breakfast. Good dinner as well if you want to eat in. Good communication before we arrived about how to get there and good communication during our stay
We felt very welcome . We stayed here at the beginning and the end of our trip and we felt at home. Would definitely go again and recommend this place
- Vicki (8/5): Lovely garden oasis in the heart of bustling Accra - The owner has taken several steps to make your stay here comfortable and special. There are complementary robes, mosquito netting and Ghanian soap in in your room. The breakfast has fresh fruit as well as homemade yogurt, jam and (the most amazing) home made bread. Tea and coffee are available all day. There was a fairly well appointed kitchen for guests which included a compost bin. For eating, or just sitting and reading a book, there are several lovely garden sitting areas. The wifi was strong and consistent. Though I had a room with a shared bath, it was kept really clean and had nice touches like organic soap and hand towels. The lamp light in the room was not strong enough to read by.

- Rosalyn (3/5): Don’t risk the mineral water in the lobby! - Small guesthouse which felt safe. Lovely breakfasts, beautiful garden. Unfortunately the mineral water container in the lobby was filled with tap water. I don’t know how this happened & when I pointed it out it was replaced with mineral water. I drank several glasses from it which led to me being ill throughout my trip in Ghana.
The cleaning wasn’t thorough, lots of dust.
- gizay (9/5): -
- ROBERTA (10/5): recommend without any doubts - The family vibe felt clean and safe and generally calm at all times the price is a little in the high end of budget travellers
- Corina (10/5): Perfect for your Accra stay! - My favourite spot in Accra! I’ve stayed before and always the best location, team and experience! Not applocable
- Lucy (10/5): A green haven in Accra - fantastic location, near the beach and good coffee shops in the area. - David and the team were extremely welcoming. They were responsive.
I liked the homemade food on the menu and the breakfast included.

- Amanda (10/5): A peaceful retreat and a permanent pot of tea - I was really happy with my 5-night stay at Hechtech House! Loved the location – in the heart of Osu and surrounded by local life, yet set back from the road and full of plants and privacy. A peaceful retreat. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was great, plus I very much appreciated that there was always a pot of tea on the go! My room was clean and comfortable. Was a little apprehensive about shared shower and WC, but they were always clean and available, as were the shared kitchen and the outdoor seating area. Overall a really lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again. (Local tip: visit Salah's shop 5 mins away on Sai Kojo St for her amazing spiced groundnut balls!)
- Olatunde (10/5): Great experience - Greenery and location
- ROBERTA (10/5): being in Nature while centrally located - the basic simplicity but nonetheless the xfect eco comforts I was looking for N/A
- Natsumi (10/5): -
- Line Leontina (10/5): A lovely Oasis in the heart of city - It was a true pleasure to stay at Hechtech House in Osu. From the moment you arrive, the warm and welcoming atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The place feels like a wonderful oasis in the heart of the city, filled with positive energy and good spirits. The staff are friendly and provide excellent, attentive service, and it is clear that great care is taken to ensure guests’ comfort and well-being. A place I can wholeheartedly recommend to everyone.
- Murchana (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay in Hechtech House. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. We also enjoyed reading our books in Dave's garden. The location is quite central and the neighbourhood is very walkable. Highly recommend!
- Aron Handreke (5/5): - Garden, terasse, rooftop, yoga matt, proximity to center Bed bugs (I got new pillows after complaining)
- matthew littlejohn (9/5): - Really liked this place, nice staff, loved the breakfast and a great location in Osu, also just after I booked they responded with alot of information like prices of taxis and so on Everything was fine
- Nanga (9/5): A dynamic and fun refuge for fellow world-travelers! - Excellent Ecofriendly place! NONE
- Gwendolyn (10/5): A hidden gem in Osu - Hechtech House is a little gem in Osu. David and his team are very helpful and friendly. The food offered for breakfast and on the menu for dinner is excellent and all homemade. Delicious. The room has everything one needs, including a small kitchen with a kettle, microwave, and dishes. The garden is beautiful, and so is the view from the rooftop. I liked everything.
- Yingke (8/5): - Beautiful greenery & plants & garden.
Delicious breakfast. High price for what it is.
- Meadows (10/5): -
- Alison (10/5): A wonderful warm welcome in a great location - It had a lovely tropical feel to it and the home made pizza was one of the best I’ve ever had .
Jolly, the golden Labrador is gorgeous Ant fault it, the staff were really helpful and even arranged an early breakfast and taxi for my 4.00am departure
- Follador (9/5): - O ambiente é muito aconchegante, você sente que está na natureza. O quarto é bastante confortável, vale a pena. O proprietário não parecia ser muito gentil com as funcionárias. O horário do check in precisa ser modificado no Booking
- Victor (8/5): Relaxing spot in the middle of Osu - The place is very comfortable, the atmosphere is relaxing with beautiful trees and plants around. The staff is also friendly and helpful for your needs. The rooms and beds are relatively small, not so convenient for tall people. The food is also relatively expensive compared to quality
- Erick (6/5): Pleasant - Very well situated and pleaseant atmosphere wirh a lot of nature It s was not clear that the toilet are shared
- Sevi (9/5): Superb - My stay at the Hechtech was very good. The place is immaculate and the staff were accommodating to me. The food is delicious, they make pizza and burgers which are delicious and affordable. As well, they had plenty of beverages if you need them throughout the day and night. It is a quiet place, which is nice if that's what you're looking for. I don't have much to add to what I didn't like. My overall experience was great, and I would definitely stay there again.
- Sheriff (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (5/5): Passable - I'm quite surprised that the rating was so high. The room was fine and clean, but the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The hall shower was not clean, the water didn't drain well, and there were always mosquitoes in the shower room. It's well located and much better priced than other options in the area, but it didn't feel like a 9.2 (the rating at the time I booked).
The staff were very friendly and helped me do laundry while I was there - I have absolutely no complaints with them! I did, however, overhear the owner berating the staff pretty harshly a few times when I left my room to come to breakfast or use the bathroom - this left a bad taste in my mouth.
Overall this place was fine, but the vibes were weird and the bathroom was not great.
- Georgia (9/5): Superb - Friendly staff and nice location
- Daniel (8/5): Secure and clean with a good location for seeing Accra - Secure and clean. The staff, including the owner David were friendly and helpful. The location in. Osu was quite central so a good base for seeing Accra. A couple of nice restaurants in easy walking distance. Real Thai and Indian food at Zion Thai and Chili.Oppodite the Thai place there is a local restaurant offering lovely Ghanaian food. The light soup and Kebabs in particular. I added them together which caused some amusement! 15 minute walk to Oxford Street, where you can buy souvenirs and most other things. I prefer an on-site bathroom but the toilet and shower were straight outside my room's door so it felt like a private bathroom and never had to wait for either
The security is great and there is a door with a door with a code to the bedrooms which is closed at night and the night guard doesn't have the code. This needed some maintenance and the owner had to be called one night. He had trouble himself and is going to replace the lock.
- Milena (7/5): Good location -
- Kingsley (8/5): Very good -
- Ratner (10/5): A cozy retreat in the heart of accra with the breakfast of your dreams and a staff that makes you feel at home - The ambiance is cozy and authentic Nothing
- Fiamma (9/5): Peaceful stay in the heart of Osu - Really nice garden, comfortable bed and great breakfast. It’s quite unusual to find a place this peaceful in Accra. Nothing in particular, maybe just a bit noisy but nothing that can’t be fixed with earplugs
- Elaine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nadine (10/5): Exceptional - It is very safe and clean. And really near the main locations
- Muktar (8/5): Very good - The greenery was an inspiration and my main reason for choosing Hechtech house. The staff are very polite and helpful. The location is close to many restaurants and downtown Accra is close by. The room isn't an ensuite.
- Sabrina (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was great. I also appreciated the flexibility that was offered around check-in. Will recommend my friends stay at Hechtech during an upcoming trip of theirs to Ghana.
- Timothé (9/5): Very nice stay - Very nice stay
- Ja (10/5): It was a wonderful stay and we would definitely come back ! - The stuff was really nice and carrying, the breakfast and the fresh baked bread are so delicious, we felt really comfortable in the room and would always come back !! -
- Alyrene (10/5): Fabulous! - I think this is the nicest guesthouse I’ve ever stayed in. Everyone is utterly lovely, they even checked on me and offered to get medicines, etc when I was sick. It’s such a calm oasis in the centre of the hustle & bustle of Accra. The garden is beautiful and peaceful. The Wi-Fi is great for working from ‘home’. Breakfast is delicious and fresh. I stayed in the room with a private bathroom & mini kitchen which was fully stocked with cutlery, crockery, pans, a kettle, microwave, fridge, oil, salt, etc. The bed & pillows are super comfortable and you even get a bathrobe and handmade soap. The bed is very high off the ground, worth noting if you have any mobility issues. Great location too, in Osu walking distance to nice restaurants, bars and shops and easy to get a Bolt/Uber from. Absolutely recommend and will definitely stay here every time I’m in Accra!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice, friendly, homely atmosphere, great breakfast, wonderful place, a little oasis
- Sonj (10/5): From booking, our hosts were in touch to provide lots of useful Ghana arrival information. We extended our stay and retu - The rooms were comfortable and dark for sleeping, also decorated nicely for a homely feeling. Had everything we needed. Great breakfast. Location perfect Nothing I didn’t like
- Marion (10/5): My green homebase for so many adventures in Accra. - An oasis in central Osu, quiet and calm place to rest for the rush of life outside. Staying in the en-suite, I felt like I had my own tiny garden apartment. Mosquitoes :(
Even with precautions I got a lot of bites.
- Hardy (9/5): Highly recommended. - A great place as a base to explore Accra.Clean, safe, spacious, perfect location. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast.
- Jakub (10/5): Exceptional -
- Veronika (9/5): Cute, jungly place. Great staff. Very easy and smooth communication and very friendly and welcoming. -
- Rosenkranz (10/5): Exceptional - Great house&garden, great homemade breakfast, great staff. Would defintely stay there again!!
- Lee (9/5): Superb - Very welcoming and helpful staff, lovely breakfast, fridge full of cheap drinks (honest box) and well stocked kitchen and nice chill out garden. Oh and a friendly dog (always a winner for me) All was good.
- Anouk (9/5): Oasis in Osu - Very nice space, oasis in lively Osu, sweet breakfast and nice owner. Be aware that there can be some noise as it’s located in the city
- Corina (10/5): Your home away from home in Osu - Loved it so much I went back again after travelling around the country. Like my home away from home and the team welcome you as you would family. The garden is quite a treat and the surrounding neighbourhood is a treat with close proximity to restos, bars and movement in the city! Not much to add☝🏾
- Jr (10/5): calm - peaceful. nice breakfast
- Corina (10/5): Great team. Stellar location. Just like a home! - Great hosts and a fabulous team! Perfect location and the right cadence with locals, passersby and diaspora coming home! I’m coming back!
- Brendah (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful and quiet environment None
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was good. Calming atmosphere to allow for work to be done. Friendly staff. And the management are very willing to accommodate your requests (within reason of course)
- Prof (9/5): Superb - I had a lovely stay in a very friendly , beautiful environment. I loved the organisation, the privacy ,the hospitality, the freedom, the ambience , the quality , the breakfast buffet, the fruits, the natural interiors, the wifi, the security, and the welcoming staff. They were so much of a HOST even before i lodged. They helped as a guide from the airport to the hotel , my business location, and other tourist attractions. I recommend
- Nicholas (10/5): If I go back to Accra I will make sure to return - The place is a haven of tranquility, understated taste, and care in the details. The breakfast was memorable with beautiful touches of homemade yogurt, juice and fruit. The area came as a surprise. On a Saturday night everything that is marked on the map wasn't open and it was before 10pm. That made the place feel even more hospitable, as David concocted some light food meal with what was in the fridge which was great.
- Chih-jung (10/5): Cozy place with thoughtful touches - Honestly everything is a amazing. From check-in to check-out, lots of thoughtful touches. Will definitely stay here again.
