• Rao (9/5): Lovely stay @ Shalom backpackers, Mussoorie - It's a good location (on the busy, bustling Mall Road) with wonderful views from the cafe. Staff were friendly and the food was great. The room is quite spacious, comfortable and equipped with necessary facilities. Lovely place to relax and unwind, especially for solo travellers. Everything was good. Just a suggestion in retrospect: It would be great to have a mini-refrigerator in the room.

• Singh (6/5): Could have been better - The stay is centrally located on Mall Road, with everything conveniently available just outside the property and within walking distance. The passage leading to the stay was surrounded by trash, which was quite unpleasant. The lift was also turned off after 11 PM, causing inconvenience. Additionally, there was no view from the room.

• Zabir (10/5): Great stay,worth every penny - value for money stay,i was in 6 bed dormitory beds where clean,comfy, beds are big and 6.2 ft person can sleep comfortably ,wc was clean and spacious 24hr hot water ,cafe are is lively ,staff and cooks are professional ,food is tasty ,the view from the cafeteria balcony is crazy i saw some snow covered peaks and good view of whole Dehradun and Mussoorie ,location of hostel is good ,live music on weekends and my favorite was uttrakhand special thali i got to taste the traditional food and experience the culture,thali is very tasty .

• Abhinav (7/5): It is a great stay if you’re going for vibes and good food and a spacious room. - That it is in a beautiful and bustling location, it has a working lift, really nice staff and wonderful food, plus the rooms and washrooms are big. It has few issues in switches specifically in rooms like there was no way I could find the switch to exhaust fan and the television.

• githu (9/5): - Very helpful staff who go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. The location is not accessible by cabs for the last 400m which makes it a pain to reach there especially if you have heavy bags

• Sant (9/5): A comfortable stay with great location, food, and views. - I recently stayed at Shalom Backpackers and had a really comfortable experience. The location is perfect, right in the center of Mall Road, making it very convenient to explore the area. The food is delicious and affordable, and the cafeteria has an amazing view that makes it a great place to relax. The geyser could have worked better.

• Najah (7/5): It was absolutely stunning experience with shalom backpackers - I didn't have the breakfast at the restaurant. But because of the convenience of the location, they were a lot of hotels and restaurants nearby. I stayed in the dorm, it was very clean and the washroom was also clean. The staffs were very friendly and was at your service anytime. it is situated at the heart of the mall road in Mussoorie. At the top of the hotel, you can see a brilliant sunrise up from there and is absolutely stunning on a cold morning. Overall experience is really good. The experience with a dorm mate wasn't up to my expectations as I was a solo traveller.

The location is perfect — close enough to everything yet peaceful enough to feel like a retreat. The staff is kind, helpful, and always available for anything I needed. The rooms and common areas were clean, cozy and had a really good vibe. Overall, a nice experience

• Ylenia (9/5): Great value for money, clean and modern hostel - We booked the standard private room and it was very nice and clean. Even though it didn't have a balcony, it offered more privacy than the delux room (window was facing hallway). The terrace is beautiful even though we didn't spend too much time there cause it was very cold. They have free drinking water, books and games. The tap for the shower didn't work properly so the water was steaming hot. Please note the hostel does not accept credit card payment, only google pay or cash.
• SHAHBAZ (5/5): Disappointed 💔 - I was offered a room to stay in Shalom backpacker’s new acquired property (Hotel Valentine). The location is right on the bustling Mall Road. Room was okay. I am writing such a poor review for the first time at booking.com. Very unsatisfactory experience. First of all, non-professional person at reception. You wont feel welcoming. Very rude behaviour and non attending. You will feel like you are in some shady hotel. Bad experiences - 1) Misguided with my booking and offering lower category room. (Later i showed the booking category) 2) My room’s bathroom flooring was always flooded with water. (Can’t help with flooring) 3) When asked for tissue roll at around 9:30pm, the room service first declined to help at that time and asked to give next morning by 10. However after arguing with him on basic facility and asked to complain then only he acted. Other drawback at new facility of hostel - Basic amenities (we expect in hostels) - common space, extra co-curricular activities and pantry (restaurant) missing.

• Stephane (10/5): Great location and views in Mussoorie - Individual room spacious and clean. Bathroom clean and hot water. Rooftop with views on the valley and hills. Centrally located, close to Landour to walk all around. Lots of restaurants and stores around. Just a block from the main road so no noise from the very busy main street. We had our breakfast every morning in the rooftop and it was great indian food. For your taxi, pick up and drop off is at Picture palace gate. Many floors but elevator available. Great deal for Mussoorie We didn't know it was a pedestrian area so that the taxi couldn't reach the hotel. We had to walk the last 300m with our big suitcases and it is very steep ;) We should have paid for the carriers. It is a hostel, and we had, unfortunately, some noisy neighbors from the dorms

Location fantastic, on the Mall road. - Check in time is 1pm which is pretty high for those arriving early morning. - Water kettle was not working - No dustbin in room to throw garbage. - No exhaust fan in washroom and floor gets really slippery with small amounts of water

We had to go to the rooftop cafe everytime. • Lift service goes down late evening, which we felt odd. • Lockers should be included in the facilities and not be in additional services.

They upgraded our room free of charge since the first room they gave us had just been painted and there was quite a strong smell. They were really kind and helpful throughout our stay.
