Guest Reviews
- Susan (10/5): Booked our next trip during stay - Excellent location Cottage was quirky and the nooks and crannies and shabby chic added to the atmosphere Comfortable furniture and beds Great bath Nothing really even the occasional cobweb added to charm
- Pat (8/5): Good base boy had to park car on busy road - Plenty of space inside Not enough room to park car on site and lots of noise from the traffic
- Helen (9/5): - Location with all amenities within walking distance. Spacious property. Courtyard garden. Road noise but knew thus when booking due to town centre location.
- Mark (10/5): Great overnight stay. Would definitely stay again and recommend. - Great location a few hundred yards to the centre. Great parking facilities easy access and great communication from the hosts. Nice little touch with bread and milk provided. Nothing
- carl (10/5): Lovely short break - Excellent location close to.local amenities. Spacious accommodation with all home comforts.

- carol (8/5): An enjoyable short break - A lovely cottage , very convenient for Wetherby. As mentioned by others it is on a very busy and noisy road which can be quite difficult to cross. The property has private parking on site and also provides a parking pass which we used as the parking was quite tight for our vehicle.
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent value great location - Excellent location lovely home All fine
- Ian (10/5): Couldn't fault the cottage and wetherby a lovely little town. - Cottage was as described and immaculate Logs for stove, had we been staying longer we would have purchased some. Not a deal breaker.
- Geoffrey (10/5): -
- Patricia (9/5): Property v comfortable. Location excellent - Uniqueness and comfort Parking at property. Difficult but still no problem to park on the road with the permit.
- Rosemarie (8/5): - Food in and milk that was brilliant No TV in bedroom
- Angela (10/5): -
- Ronald (7/5): Lovely cottage with very good facilities - Lovely and clean comfy beds enjoyed our stay there Very noisy road
- Angela (7/5): Quaint cottage within walking distance of Wetherby town centre - All info was provided pre-stay. The accommodation was clean and cosy, with good Wifi, and is within walking distance of the town centre. This is an older property with steep stairs and a bathroom door that we couldn't close.
- Tracey (10/5): - Fantastic location, hosts were very helpful and the charging point was a bonus. Nothing, the cottage was lovely and we all had a great time.
- mel (10/5): We thought the Cottage was absolutely beautiful. We loved the location and the town of Weatherby. - There was fruit, bread and milk.
- Rob (9/5): -
- Sylvia (9/5): Familienurlaub mit Hund im südlichen Yorkshire - + super bequeme und breite Betten
+ sehr gut ausgestattetes altes Haus
- john (8/5): Excellent value in a great location - Excellent location, spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Single bed seriously needs replacing. A bit of road noise but not too bad.
- Vanessa (8/5): Overall we were very pleased with our stay. The small garden was picture perfect and a respite from - The decor and spaciousness of the bedrooms. easy accessibility to shops, centre and petrol station. The noise of the traffic. We were on a main road.
- Leigh (9/5): Lovely cottage in an excellent location. - Excellent location. Lovely comfortable cottage. Bonus of off-street and on street parking with permit available. Nice welcome touches. Lovely sitting area at the back of the cottage. Unfortunately, I found the bed a little uncomfortable. The mattress was a little firm for me, but it didn't spoil my weekend.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- E (8/5): Very good -
- Antony (8/5): Very good - Super location for exploring.
Great facilities.
Nice to have parking and garden to relax in
- Paine (10/5): Delightful large cottage - It's a big cottage! Spacious rooms. Characterful. Well appointed. Welcome pack was very welcome. Handy for supermarket and all amenities. Excellent value for money. Dog friendly, enclosed garden. Nothing negative, all fab.
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robynn (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (9/5): Lovely cottage in great location - Charming cottage in great location. Enclosed garden for our dog. Would stay again. Very small point no hairdryer & some sort of bathroom cleaner be good but really didn’t spoil our stay.
- Diane (9/5): Nice cottage, good location, everything you need. - Lovely spacious, warm and comfortable cottage. Parking nice and easy right next to the property. Generous welcome pack with plenty of choices for breakfast. Close to shops and restaurants. Lynn and Matthew were really quick to respond to any queries we had. The single bed in the 3rd bedroom is a little small for a 6ft adult but perfect for a shorter person!
- Simon (9/5): Very relaxing and great comfort - Clean quiet good location very homely Heating problems - hopefully one off
- Sean (9/5): Superb - Garden Cottage had everything need for a comfortable stay. It was in a really good location close to all amenities.
- Rhiannon (10/5): Really lovely house and great location - The location is fab, walking distance to all shops and pubs. Can’t fault the house, really good value for money and had everything we needed. Communication before our visit was great and all questions were answered. Quite tight parking on the drive, only just managed to get our car in and close the gates which we needed to have them closed as we had our dog. Definitely manageable though and plenty of space for on street parking too with the permit provided.
- Kimberley (8/5): Cosy retreat - Beautiful little stay..
Would love to come back for longer stay x Kitchen could be updated a little x
- Lynn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (7/5): Good - The standard of the third small bedroom was not of the same high standard as the other two bedrooms
- Paige (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely property, hosts left some bread, milk, butter, fruit which was a really nice touch!
- Nick (10/5): Wonderful. - Lovely property with a real 'home-from-home' feel. Quaint and quirky with some lovely touches. I would quite happily spend a week here when I am next at conference-the property grabs hold of you and grows on you. Surprising.
Excellent host who went above and beyond to facilitate a somewhat picky customer (me). Thanks, Matthew. Lovely place. Can't fault it.
- David (10/5): Lovely place - Beautiful cottage in an ideal location. Well appointed, with plenty of character.
- Kirsteen (8/5): Great base for exploring around, cottage was clean with everything we needed. - Gorgeous old cottage with lovely features. So good to have a welcome pack on arrival & private parking. Loved all the information notices throughout the cottage & having a parking permit was great, as reversing into property wasn’t always possible, as busy road. Hosts quick to respond to any queries. Cottage is on a busy road, so traffic noise was a distraction at times, but something that is out of control of owners. Single bed not the comfiest.
- Jean (7/5): Okay dont think i would stay again . - Very central for Wetherby town centre, on very noisy road lots of traffic . Mixed feelings on this cottage . Very steep stairs quite dark inside of property . Noisy road steep stairs very dark inside .
- Yvonne (10/5): A lovely stay. - Very happy with the cottage nice and cosy, the welcome pack( milk bread, cereal and fruit)was a lovely bonus off road parking and the parking pass was great. Nothing major but we thought the bed in the single room would have been a full single bed,but in no way did it spoil our stay in the cottage.
- Caroline (9/5): Superb -
- Gemma (10/5): Lovely little break with friends - Beautiful cottage with a lovely little yard at the back which we made use of as the weather was good to us. Gorgeous little village with a pub and cafe a stones throw away with great food.
- Karen (9/5): Lovely Cottage - Lovely cottage in the centre of Wetherby, free parking available next to the cottage, hosts left a handy welcome pack, very clean and comfortable accommodation, great for a cosy night in with Sky TV, or close to local pubs and restaurants or 30 minute drive from York.
- Rebecca (9/5): A lovely stay - A lovely, good sized cottage, well equipped and in an excellent location. Pubs, shops, restaurants all in easy walking distance.
Lovely hosts provide milk, bread, butter, cereals, tea and coffee, which makes arrival very easy - and 2 parking spaces! Gorgeous comfy beds in the 2 double rooms 👌 The only thing (that made no difference to our stay, but others may need to know) was that the single bedroom had a campbed-style bed in it - low, with quite a thin mattress and small duvet. Fine for a child, but not long enough for an adult.
- Anne (10/5): Great place to stay, totally recommended. - Very clean & welcoming, the cottage was ideal for our stay. Delightful welcoming pack & the location is ideal. Parking is available for a couple of vehicles which is great if it's a group visiting. It's an old property so staircase is steep & slightly tricky to negotiate at first, so be aware if anyone's mobility is challenged.
The road outside is busy during rush hour & there is some traffic noise but it's not a huge issue.
- Geoffrey (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (8/5): Far more poitive than negative. - Excellent location with parking. Good lighting. Comfortable bed. Bathroom door lock was very challenging for an elderly lady who couldnt exert enough force. A simple latch would have saved embarassment if there had been more than 2 of us in a 3 bedroom stay. The multiple notices of advice, warning and pleading could have been condensed into one sheet in the guide book. They were unwelcoming.
- Nigel (10/5): Brilliant. - A beautifully decorated property close to all main facilities in Wetherby. A proper home from home. Having to leave.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Dan (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the quiet location & quirky features of Garden Cottage. The bath was also superb! Nothing.
- Frentzen (9/5): Superb -
- Wendy (8/5): Very good - Great location & very comfy living room & bedrooms . Stairs very narrow & heating had not been put on before we arrived - additional heating in kitchen would be helpful & logs for the fire in the living room .security light outside near the porch would be a good idea
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eileen (8/5): We stayed at the cottage to attend a wedding nearby and had a pleasant stay, - The location was perfect. The kitchen was well equipped and the dining area and lounge had plenty of room. The bedrooms were plenty big enough and the beds comfortable. The garden area looked very pretty but we didn’t use it as it was too cold. Would stay again. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut as it’s a big old door but I think something needs to be done to rectify this.
The bathroom and kitchen need a renovation ideally.
- Carol (10/5): Great overnight stay after the races - All perfect Nothing
- Laura (7/5): Comfortable accommodation, very well presented but marred by noise from the constant passing traffic. - Easy parking opposite with the resident permit provided. Very comfortably furnished. Well equipped kitchen. Great when travelling to have a washing machine. The location on a very busy road meant there was a high level of traffic noise in the front rooms of the property; earplugs were the solution after a poor first night’s sleep. There was a log burner in the lounge but no logs were provided, unfortunately (central heating was more than adequate).
- Richard (10/5): Excellent great location definitely did not want too leave - Really well presented cottage
Clean great communication excellent facilities absolutely 11 out of 10 Nothing
- Gail (10/5): Great stay. Really enjoyed it. - Quaint and old. Nothing
- Lucretia (10/5): wished we had stayed longer - every thing , location , facilities, you could fault the cottage or the owners who very promptly fixed a minor issue the cottage is on a busy street and getting out of the drive way was hard - solution we used the permit and parked on the street people solved
- Anne-marie (9/5): Lovely cottage, excellent value. - Location brilliant. Lovely welcome pack, just the right amount of food. Great condiments, no need to bring your own! Good facilities. Lovely bathroom. Amazing curtains in the bedroom, really luxorious. This was excellent value for money. If Im being picky I would say invest in a more sumptuous duvet and pilows. I would also clean the seal on the shower screen as I see this so many times when I am sitting in a lovely bath.
- Brenda (9/5): Good place to stay, very convenient for shops etc. - Location was very good.
The ability to have two bedrooms was a plus for us both. Road noise.
Bathroom and stairs not suitable for disabled, no safety handles,
- Mari-claire (9/5): Superb -
- Nicholas (10/5): a brilliant 3 nights away we loved everything about it - close to everything and very user friendly hosts will definite - everything it was fantastic 😀😀👍👍 brilliant location really comfortable everything you could wish for 😀😀👍👍 nothing
