Guest Reviews
- Richard (8/5): Relaxing weekend - It was well located Nothing bad to stay
- Paul (8/5): Very good. Very convenient for central York. - Size, furnishing, facilities. Location Nothing
- Keith & Di (10/5): Weekend in York - We liked a
everything. Nothing to dislike
- Maggie (10/5): Perfect place to stay in York! - The location was perfect. Right beside the city wall! Within walking distance to all the attractions. Car parking was right in front of the house, very convenient. The house was SPOTLESS! So clean and tidy. The beds were very comfy. The shower had a good pressure and temperature. Excellent place to stay for a weekend in York! No soap in the bathrooms, but that is a minor point.
- Charlotte (9/5): Lovely York gem. - Stayed for my husband’s birthday. Very good location. Was so nice the city walls were close. Quiet as in a little close. Spacious, and had everything we needed. Bed was very comfortable. Will definitely stay again. Parking was a little tight. Couple of things in the apartment were not clean such as table mats, dust in corners however not a major issue.
- Andrew (9/5): Absolutely brilliant stay at the property and York - Location and facilities None
- Anushka (9/5): - Property was spacious and had all essential facilities. It was near the city centre. The 1st floor where kitchen and living room was could’ve been cleaner, there was stuff on the dining table (tablet, food crumbs etc). The sofa wasn’t clean, had stuff (food crumbs, hairs etc) on it.
House was very cold before we arrived, heating could’ve been turned on prior to us arriving as each room took a few hours before they were even at a warm/comfortable temperature.
Bathrooms weren’t very accessible for elderly or disabled people as there was one downstairs and one on upper floor, but living room and kitchen are on middle floor (just a warning for those travelling with limited mobility individuals)
Parking was a nightmare, not the most spacious or accessible spot. Took at least 5-10 mins to fit car in, to ensure enough space for neighbour to park.
- Lorraine (7/5): Very nice place to stay and enjoy York - Close to the town centre Parking a bit difficult wasn’t big enough turnaround space
Problem with getting the key code to get in
The bed in the master bedroom is in the wrong place needs turning around kept banging head on the slope ceiling
But still had a great stay
- Katie (9/5): Would definitely stay again. - Brilliant location close enough to walk into city centre but also very quiet. Beds super comfy, and a spacious house. Loved the fact that each room had a double bed. You can't get ordinary freeview TV. If you don't have any sign in details for any apps you're stuck with re runs of Seinfeld on repeat on Sony TV.
- Raymond (9/5): - Good location, just a ten minute walk from the station and close to the city centre. Nothing really, just for me bedroom on the third floor as I sometimes struggle with stairs, I'm in my 70s
- Heather (8/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): - We liked everything about this property it was everything we could have asked for and more Nothing
- Janet (8/5): - Comfortable and clean. 10.5tog duvet was a bit warm for me but used blanket from lounge instead. Some basic condiments such as salt and pepper would have been useful. Also a bread bin.
- Nicholas (9/5): Apart from the minor points in my feedback i would definitely book again when visiting with friends (only one parking sp - The location is fantastic for exploring York, we’ve normally stayed in hotels in the centre of town but being able to come back to the comfort of a home is appreciated after a few long days on your feet. Free parking is also available. Some lively bars and a few restaurants close by if you don’t want to venture into town. Extremely close to one of the city walls which is an enjoyable walk. The only feedback i would have is that there is no Iron site, understandable when carpets are throughout, but maybe make this clear in the listing. We also couldn’t get free-view to work in the lounge although it is a smart TV so you can login to your own apps (don’t forget to log out when leaving). Although the TV turned on in the master bedroom we couldn’t change the channel. The spare double room makes the accommodation more than big enough for two couples. As both bedrooms are located in the attic perhaps fans and not winter duvets should have been provided in this unusually hot visit.
- Jill (10/5): Fab location - Great location, very clean, good facilities, great views of the city walls, parking right outside the door. Nothing
- Sally (10/5): amazing - location excellent. house beautiful nothing
- Tyreman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annabel (9/5): Great location, lovely comfortable town house - Location was excellent, quiet, good for heading into town or the station, lovely little town house in a quiet courtyard, great little kitchen and dining area, everything you could need, great area for lounging, lovely outlook, really comfy bed, lush carpet
- Mark (9/5): Excellent property, great location. - Great location. Peaceful surroundings. Wi-Fi. The most basic BT circuit. Needs an upgrade. V slow with 4 adults all trying to use after a day sightseeing. And not much better with one on Wi-Fi only. Not great in 2024/25.
- Sandra (9/5): Superb -
- Vijay (9/5): Great location, clean and nicely furnished. - The location was good. Close to city centre, shops, restaurants and bars/pubs. Very nicely furnished and good facilities. There was nothing that I did not like about the property.
- Alessandra (9/5): Fantastic location and house for a short stay - Location, comfort (soft carpets, pillows, duvet), TV entertainment options, private parking, all the recommendations for drinking and eating (we went to a few and were fantastic!!) TV in bedroom didn’t work… we had to use the amazon fire-stick from TV in the living room in the bedroom and then switch it back
- Kevan (10/5): Enjoyed staying at the premises, all our requirements were catered for - Self catering.
Location was good All was good
- Patrick (6/5): Good location, slightly odd set up - The property is in a quiet cul-de-sac, right next to the York walls. It's really easy to walk into the city, and there's parking for a car. It feels all very safe and secure with a family.
There are a few pubs behind the house, and they're a bit rowdy late at night, but you're completely separated from them and can't hear them indoors. A few, odd, small things.
- When we arrived, the house was completely unlocked (front door, back door, and inner door to the garage)
- There was a car in the garage for the entire time - no idea whose - as well as a kids bike and a load of boxes
- There is a storage room downstairs, which was unlocked the whole time and had a LOT of random stuff in it - baby's chairs, toiletries, toys etc
- I had to clean the hoover on behalf of the property, as I tried to use it and it wouldn't work as it was rammed full of stuff
- Dishwasher didn't work - just kept stopping after 1 minute, despite me trying every setting. The rotor also fell off, which was great
- There were a load of (harmless) spiders in the house - in the corrider and garage - which clearly hadn't been cleaned properly / put outside
- Anonymous (7/5): Nice place to stay in but the cleanliness wasn’t good. - It was very spacious and had comfy beds, good location.. Crumbs on chairs in dining room and food on sofa, hairs in bed and in toilet. Cups and plates extremely dirty.
