After working all weekend myself and two coworkers decided to take a few days to relax in the mountains before heading back home. We arrived around 5 pm Monday evening to check in to Kenny’s cabin. We didn’t look around much because we were all hungry and wanted to grab food. We dropped our bags off and headed out. We got back from dinner around 6 pm and each of our group brought our belongings into a bedroom- we saw a hot tub in the photos when booking, but when we went downstairs to check it out it was out of commission, half filled with dirty water- not to worry we messaged the host to double check. We then went back into the house awaiting a reply and immediately noticed a crusty stain on the right of the velvet couch. A squashed dead bug in the carpet in the living room, which was also scattered with food crumbs, was our warm welcome. Starting to notice it’s a bit unclean, we decided to check out the rooms- it’s something all three of us and most other people do when booking a stay. Upon checking the beds - some looked slept in finding hair / makeup on the pillows and in the sheets, as well as crusty spots and stains on some of the bedding. Checking under the beds we immediately observed how dusty and dirty it was. At this point we’re feeling very uncomfortable and, after still not hearing back from our host, we decide to try calling the number listed on the app for the host (spoiler alert! It’s not the right number). After several failed attempts at contacting our host we decided to contact customer service since he hadn’t answered our original meeeage from 6 PM(unfortunately, they were also unable to make contact with him but did hear out our side and asked for photos / videos which we had no problem providing. Feeling stuck, uncomfortable, and ripped off / cat fished, we decided to take action.
