Guest Reviews
- Alexander (8/5): Relaxing and comfortable park home that provided a great base for a short stay - Nice countryside setting and great place to relax and explore the area. Clean, comfortable and warm. Responsive host. Only one shower - which may be an issue for groups staying there. Had difficulty locating the actual holiday park as GPS sent me to the wrong location.
- Susan (9/5): It was only a quick 2 night break for a relaxing time and we enjoyed every minute . - Very clean and comfortable and in a lovely location, it was in a quiet area of the site and the scenery was fabulous We liked everything ☺️
- Angela (8/5): Fantastic location to get out & about in Northumberland . Super comfy bed for a caravan stay . Ideal for 2 people bu - The location is great , the bed was super comfy . For a property that allows dogs , found it a bit strange that the sofas had no throws on them or supplied . The kitchen utensils were poor . Flimsy forks & knives . The seating area to eat was a bit strange not much room luckily there was only 2 of us One wine glass that had glitter on it . But that just me being picky .
- Alison (9/5): -
- Tracy (8/5): - Great location for exploring Northumberland
- Ben (10/5): Great stay, great location. Clean and helpful owners - Clean and comfortable Nothing
- Katie (10/5): -
- Carl (3/5): Over promised , not worth the price unfortunately! - Not much , only location, No gas for cooker , 0 instructions for any issues, very grubby utensils, which is not acceptable, no wifi which was a main issue as my wife needed wifi to work , rv was hanging off the wall , very dated and felt very dark with the horrible dark gray paint, smelt damp .
- Glen (8/5): Perfect for a weekend away! -
- Wayne (6/5): - Location was perfect for what we needed. Initial issues of not having any gas were resolved quickly. It needs a little work and refreshing. Some of the boards on the walls were coming away, there were rawl plugs visible from where the TV used to be. Just little attention to detail. Definitely not a massive issue.
- Kirwin (6/5): Enjoyable stay - Lovely site, nice and quiet with well.kept grounds. The lodge was nice and very clean with lovely comfortable and warm bedding. We had a very relaxing stay and appreciated the quiet pretty site. It was lacking basic ameneties which made cooking and preparing meals challenging. There was also no anti bacterial spray etc for cleaning down surfaces. When we arrived, the decking was completely frozen and was extremely slippy. My mother is disabled, due to the icy decking and darkness, she slipped several times as we all did. Given the temperatures, it should have perhaps been salted prior to arrival to avoid any potential falls.
- Ian (8/5): A decent van at a good price - Comfortable holiday home at a decent price, this was definitely the deciding factor for us other places on this park can ask extortionate prices. Couldn't get oven to stay on, and lacking a little bit in finer details, I.e there was no whisk, or potato masher, just little things.
- Benjamin (10/5): Thank you for giving me and amazing weekend with my daughter ❤️ - Fantastic location, I only wish I knew about the golf before coming because I would have brought my clubs 😂. My daughter had the best time there and really appreciated the WiFi 😂A massive thank you to Kayleigh for the stay & I can’t wait to book again Honestly, nothing. The only negative was that the nearest shops were a bit of a drive away. The stay itself was fantastic!!
- Stephanie (4/5): Wouldn’t stay again - Sky tv Bedrooms smelt like acetone or paint stripper
No instructions on using the heating
Asking to take the rubbish away with no map of the where the bins were
Very tired and holes in the wall
Non matching towels even in sizes let alone colour
A lot of money for what we got
- patricia (8/5): The park was quiet and very well kept. The caravan was tired - The shower was good
The beds were comfortable The sofa was terrible
The decor was drab
- Wozniak (4/5): No thank you - Not much tbh It wasn’t clean, the living area was really dark sofa was broken , no place to sit down . The caravan had smell damp . Not recommended that’s at all
- May (5/5): Although the bedrooms and toilets were very nice, and very clean, the issues highlighted impacted on our stay , which wa - Area was lovely. Caravan site very nice Lounge very basic. The original caravan interior had been removed and whole room painted in a very dark gray with gray blinds. Only one sofa. No dining table/ chairs. Stools at breakfast bar too tall to sit and eat comfortably. Kitchen area very shabby, coating peeling off doors. Marks on side panels of breakfast bar. No coffee table of side tables. No instruction manual for heating and tv.
Batteries had died in heating thermostat so no heating until we were able to
source batteries ourselves. Remote for bedroom tv not working.
Oven, grill and hob not working. Apparently owner is due to replace the cooker. We had brought food to prepare all our meals but there was only a microwave and an airfryer.
Decking not clean, poorly maintained, lots of bird poo and a nail sticking out on exterior under lounge window.
- Amy (10/5): Perfect spot to relax and unwind. - Nice quiet location, very peaceful. Plenty of walks nearby, very accessible to the A1 and nearby coastal towns. No negatives all good.
- Rebecca (9/5): A perfect home from home for the weekend. - It was a lot more spacious than I was expecting and was extremely clean. The sofa was very comfortable, as was the bed - we had an excellent night’s sleep. The kitchen was very well -equipped and had everything we needed - we loved that there was an air fryer too! Liked that there was an en-suite toilet in the main bedroom and the shower was very hot and powerful. Lovely location of the lodge, didn’t feel overlooked at all and the fairy lights around the balcony outside was a lovely touch. Would have preferred plain white towels but will just bring our own for next time.
- Paula (8/5): A little getaway - It was very nice the beds were very comfortable had everything we needed Needs a small table as the chairs at the breakfast bar were to small. The bar/restaurant was about 10 mins from the lodge and the lighting on the way was poor so take a torch
- Anna (9/5): Perfect location and very comfy beds. - Spacious & clean Nothing
- Louisa (7/5): Good -
- John (5/5): Adequate for weekend - Idea base for Northumberland Lack of lighting in lounge area
No information for appliances
Sitting area needs updating, sofa inadequate if used for families
- Rebecca (8/5): Great location for visiting places, lovely and quiet - Very comfortable caravan, plenty of space for us I small table and chairs would have been ideal as the breakfast bar chairs are too high to comfortably eat at
This isn’t to do with the caravan, but we felt the site was missing a small shop where you can buy essentials
- Martin (9/5): lovely property, great host and good location -
- John (8/5): Great break, relaxing and great dog walks - Location, excellent base for Northumberland Dark sitting room area, needs table and chairs
Lack of information for appliances
- Carole (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (8/5): Clean, tidy and great value. - The lodge was spotless. bedding and towels supplied to a very high standard.
Everything you needed was supplied and the welcome tray was a lovely touch. I liked everything however my husband was not keen on the Newcastle sign outside the lodge as he is an avid Sunderland supporter. lol
- Don (8/5): Very comfortable property. - Lovely location An instructional welcome regards appliances
- Lucy (10/5): Perfect in every way. - Perfect location, we were visiting family in Wooler and Ashington so was spot on half way. Very welcoming, very comfortable, fully equipped with little added extras. Amazing place to stay. Nothing it was great. As a suggestion
Barstools were a little high so couldn’t eat up the breakfast bar and a bean bag for the floor would be good as an extra seat.
- Commons (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place to stay handy for all tourist places
Badgers Reatreat was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The site was immaculate, a little park for our grandchildren which they loved. There was nothing to dislike.
- Ann (8/5): Comfortable stay in a lovely area. - The location was great and we had no trouble finding the caravan. Everywhere was very clean, the beds were comfortable and I slept really well. There is a good sized bathroom with powerful shower and a smaller en suite WC, which was handy. Sky and WiFi are available so we could keep up to date with the Olympics or watch something on Disney + or Netflix. There is only one big, comfortable sofa, which for three of us was fine but if a family of four you may need more seating. There also wasn’t a t-towel to dry the dishes. Only a small niggle but If I’d known I would have brought one.
- Alicia (10/5): Exceptional - lovely and clean everything was amazing x
- Jill (10/5): Great van, good location, clean and spacious - Lovely clean van, spacious, great welcome card & pack from owner Nothing
- Jane (10/5): Great location, lovely accommodation and great weather - location was a quieter part of the site which was ideal. We have stayed on this site before and it is very handy to discover both the coast and Alnwick. The little extras left in the property was a lovely gesture thank you for that. nothing everything was great
- Sandra (10/5): Would love to stay here again in the future. - Lovely location and felt very homely. The owner is very friendly and the tv has Netflix and Disney+. We enjoyed the walks on the site too. Perfect base to go to Cragside.
- Catherine (8/5): Very good - open plan and spacious nothing
- Lucy (7/5): Pleasant, tidy and comfortable - Well equipped lodge. Comfy beds and sofa. Welcoming touches e.g. biscuits Could have done with more seating areas for eating e.g. dining table
- Vasil (8/5): I would stay again if come in the area - Location was convenient. Was clean and quiet. The price was affordable. Clear instructions by email about check in.
All appliances worked as I expected except heating. Heating wasn’t set to work overnight. It was pretty cold and I wasn’t able to set it up.
- Anne (10/5): Excellent accomadation. - The location was excellent, near to the Northumberland coast to drive. The Caravan needs a number 5 attaching, so you can easily find it. Especially in the dark.
- Nicola (8/5): Very good - Lovely lady to deal with
Very pleasant stay
- Mr (10/5): Great base for our short break - Cozy, comfy a great base for our short trip away Nothing it was lovely
- Felician (9/5): Superb - Excellent location, property as described, well kitted for our stay; excellent comms with the host.
- Beverley (9/5): Superb - Very quiet site. Comfortable bed. Great shower. Clean caravan. Easy check-in. Sky TV. Easy access to places round and about.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Property was amazing, comfy, clean and a perfect little get away!
Gorgeous little tray of goodies was also there for when we arrived - which we appreciated!
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - It was very cosy and immaculate. Everything was thought of. We’ve stayed on that site before and the location is central for everywhere There wasn’t really anything to dislike
- Clare (7/5): Good -
- Phil (10/5): Exceptional - Was a great stop gap to go visit Bamburgh, lovely snacks and treats provided Could do with a name or number on Caravan to help finding it easier.
- Julia (8/5): Quiet and peaceful - Spacious and well equipped.
Quiet and peaceful location.
Lovely goodies and snacks provided. Directions hard to follow so got lost in the dark and pouring rain as we arrived late evening!
No instructions about how to work the heating.
- Gary (10/5): Wet and windy - looking forward to returning - Very well presented The interior decor was updated from standard caravan style
- Suet (10/5): Exceptional - Cleanliness and the facilities available. The owner was very patient too
- Donna (9/5): A great stop gap before onward journey continuing holiday. -
- Andre (10/5): Excellent stay, we would highly recommend. - Nice welcome, just what we needed and well cleaned. The only thing was difficult to find in the dark, we couldn’t find a number or name.
- Simon (8/5): Very good - Spacious clean relaxing lounge / kitchen. The location is great 15 to 20 minutes to get to places of interest. Would happily book again. Having a house number on the patio / decking would be helpful. :)
