Guest Reviews
- James (7/5): - Very clean. Bed very small.
- Kenneth (10/5): Overnight stay - Excellent accommodation. Tea and coffee making facilities provided along with breakfast supplies. Instant porridge, OJ, yoghurt and pastries. Sadly the pastries were extremely dry and not to our liking. Everything else was superb, even down to the round furry seat pads for the metal chairs outside. As a light sleeper the heating system clicked a lot during the early hours which disturbed us.
Plus the pan au chocolate and pan au raisin were not to our liking.
- CHRIS (9/5): -
- Kevin (9/5): - Neat, spotlessly clean and eminently affordable given the price of accommodation closer to Bristol city centre. Located in a vineyard, we even had the opportunity to sample and purchase the wine produced onsite. Nothing to dislike
- Jacqueline (10/5): An excellent stay in a beautiful setting. - Absolutely everything. What a fantastic experience. We went to the wine tasting event and then stayed overnight. Very comfortable room with lots of goodies and breakfast in the room provided. The view from the room was beautiful and being able to sit outside on the patio was great. Thank you. Nothing to dislike.
- Stella (10/5): Excellent location for Bristol Airport - Excellent location for Bristol airport N/A
- Davina (8/5): -
- Jessica (10/5): What a wonderful find! - Excellent accommodation with great amenities. Comfortable beds with amazing pillows!! Beautiful modern bathroom. Cannot fault anything - but a suggestion of possibly having takeaway cups and cutlery for guests.
- Tori (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Beautiful location - Beautiful setting. Rooms have everything you need and the breakfast provided in the room is excellent. Very convenient for Bristol Airport. N/A
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent overnight stay prior to a flight from Bristol - Such a beautiful setting, as well as being so convenient for an overnight stay before a flight from Bristol airport. Rooms had everything we needed including a delicious breakfast. Arrival/departure was easily completed without needing any interaction with staff, hence no rating above for this area. We just wish that we had more time to explore the estate. N/A
- Rosie (9/5): -
- Nicu (10/5): Nice and clean looking - Lovely place and peaceful
- Guest (7/5): - This place would be great in spring/ summer. It's a working Vineyard and I believe there are tours available. However on a very wet and windy travel day we arrived late afternoon due to traffic delays. It's located down some very narrow lanes with a few passing places. There were many potholes filled with water due to the storm. Decidedly dodgy for driving. On arrival we found our room but due to poor lighting had difficulty in seeing our name on the door. Entered and the room was pretty chilly. Turned up the heating and checked for the nearest eating place which according to the brochure was only 2.2miles away again down very narrow lanes.
On a positive note we had a good night's sleep . Room has everything you need, TV, ensuite, coffee, plug points, fridge and a continental breakfast. One observation...if needing to work there's no table to work on. It's within 6 miles of Bristol airport. Would we stay again..probably not due to its location.
- Rebecca (10/5): What a great little find, so close to the airport! - So close the airport and ease of arrival and departure! No bar open in the evening.
- Lesley (10/5): - The comfort, the location, the fact the room was in an outer location in the grounds was fab. Breakfast! I spoke to the lady in the morning about this point!
- Aspinall (7/5): -
- Emma (10/5): Fantastic, beautiful, clean, comfy accomodation. Will stay again and highly recommend to others - As a family we stayed here over night before our flight from Bristol airport, it was perfect and absolutely beautiful. We both said ‘let’s just stay here for the week’
It was far above our expectations. Not applicable
- lindsey (8/5): Lovely surroundings, peaceful and clean - Clean & comfortable Couldn’t connect TV to internet to be able to use Netflix
- Michael (8/5): - Almost everything. A blackout blind on the door to stop the security light brightening the room would be a very good idea.
- Rhinds (8/5): It was perfect. - No milk for tea sadly but never mind No milk
- Newnham (10/5): -
- Cathy (8/5): Beautiful spot for a peaceful overnight stay - The vineyard tour and wine tasting was great, as was the wine! It's very beautiful and there are lovely places to sit and enjoy the environment.
Bed was comfortable and shower was very good. Facilities on site are extremely limited inasmuch as there's nowhere to get food or drink once the staff leave at around 5pm. A makeshift breakfast was left in our room when we checked in but it was inevitably not that great and we went out for breakfast after we'd checked out.
- jo (10/5): Highly recommend accommodation with beautiful views and quiet location - Rooms were in a private location, were very clean, modern with all the facilities needed for our stay. Breakfast was simple but excellent quality and more than enough for what we needed. Super quiet location with beautiful views and cute patio area where you can sit in enjoy these. Hosts were vey accommodating and easy to reach via email/phone before our stay. Family room could do with a full length mirror (like all the other rooms) but does has big mirrors so not a huge issue for us.
- Michiel (8/5): - De locatie is zeer fijn.
De kamers hebben een fijn terras aansluitend aan de parking.
Duidelijke communicatie rond check-in.
- Jill (7/5): - Quirky location close to the airport. We stayed on a very hot, bright night in the middle of summer.
- Sharon (9/5): A nice rest before the journey home - The room was lovely and also warm on our arrival, which was at 2am in the morning . That was a good reason why I picked this place it allows you to go in any time, especially when your flight is delayed . Unfortunately, we didn't have enough milk or normal tea bags for our breakfast, only enough for one person . My husband went to reception but wasn't open. More pillows. That is my only gripe.
- Prafulchandra (7/5): Lovely location, great room, too light in summer - The location was beautiful & very convenient for a wedding near by There were white blinds & a skylight, so it was too light for us in the morning
- Richard (8/5): Very good - Very cute room in a pretty rural vineyard setting. Breakfast was basic and small with only instant coffee.
- Snieguolė (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evie (10/5): PERFECTION! - Beyond beautiful place! The views are breath taking, the staff could not do enough for you and the rooms were so comfy cozy I was amazed!
Breakfast is set up for you in your room and refreshed everyday so you can eat and drink at your leisure!
We were visiting for a wedding that was elsewhere but used Aldwick as our base and I could have stayed another day for the views and wine alone!
A true hidden gem that is worth the stay for a picnic in the vineyard alone!! Very very minor, while a fan was provided the rooms would benefit tremendously from some air conditioning, the heat is out of stays fault, but would be an amazing touch!
- Ash (10/5): Fantastic place to stay to explore the area. - Love this estate been here a number of times and it never disappoints. The staff are so friendly and facilitated are on point always .
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (8/5): Nice quiet remote spot for an overnight stay - The location is quite remote and so it is quiet with a great view of the Quantock hills. The breakfast was in-room: pastries, pots of yoghurt and porridge, orange juice, tea/coffee facilities. The room was fairly small, well suited to an overnight stay but not somewhere to hang out during the day. The place looks like it is mainly a wedding venue with facilities for individual travellers. Overall, good quality and value for money
- Ronald (10/5): Very good, terrific location and nice and PEACEFUL - It was just about right for our needs. A little more milk perhaps
- Kathryn (9/5): Absolutely loved it here and would definitely recommend to anyone! - Fantastic location, lovely accommodation with plenty of character, stunning scenery and grounds. Lots of lovely flowers, nooks and areas to explore. Some really lovely family history to the property and very tastefully done. Could do with a bath mat.
- Valdas (1/5): Very bad night sleep. No curtains or blinds, light pollution in the room - The location was beautiful Omg, I can’t believe there wasn’t any curtains! Worst night sleep ever. Ruined our holiday , because didn’t sleep very well before the flight. The blinds inside don’t do anything for the light which is coming from outside car park. And honestly, you can hear your neighbors, you can hear everything. So , if you are traveling to Bristol Airport don’t stay here, because you won’t sleep properly. And breakfast is misleading. It wasn’t a frie-up, it’s just few croissants and orange juice. Disappointing
- Benedict (6/5): Pleasant - It was very peaceful Breakfast is virtually non existent.
Best is to either do it properly or not all at
- Jane (6/5): Ok - Beautiful property in an excellent location for the airport. Great breakfast box Blackout blinds or curtains
Don't let people park right outside their apartment their lights woke us up. That together with the cars on the gravel drive meant for little sleep. We stayed to get some sleep before an early morning flight. We went to bed at 8pm to do this. However the other 3 apartments arrived throughout the evening up to midnight. The noise of the cars and as they parked right outside meant we did not get any sleep.
Way too hot needs air con or at least a fan. Room thermostat never dropped below 29 degrees
- Julie (10/5): Absolutely first class - thank you - Location ideal. Room lovely. Quiet beautiful vista Nothing
- Onyinye (9/5): Superb -
- Russell (8/5): Very good -
- Charlie (9/5): Superb - Location, scenic and quiet Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Excellent stay with wine tour and lunch in a local pub - Nothing was great!
- Emma (7/5): Good - Had a shower at 09.10 am and it was luke warm at best which was disappointing and not something I would expect. I phoned Alison the next day and mentioned the lack of hit water.. Staying in Watts room
- Paul (9/5): Comfortable stay - Exceptionally comfortable bed in our room. Room was quite spacious. Walk in shower was great. Breakfast very nice. There was no Internet access although the WiFi was operating. I suspect the router wherever it was needed rebooting. This was only one negative against a very good stay.
- Yampy (9/5): Peaceful and relaxed - Very clean and tidy.
Good sized towels. Not being able to get a taxi very easily!
- Sophie (4/5): It was mostly good, but the uncomfortable springy mattress really let it down. - The staff member that I spoke to for booking was very pleasant. They provided great directions and clear instructions.
The rooms looked great, everything seemed lovely. It was beautifully presented, and the sheets and blankets were lovely. The single beds were so comfy and the room was lovely and warm.
There were lots of places to charge stuff and the shower was fantastic.
There was a great selection of food and drinks for breakfast. The double bed mattress was so uncomfortable and springy.
There were lovely blankets on the bed, but they were dirty. There were some chocolate stains I think on one, and clumps of black curly hair on another.
Around the kettle and food there was also some milk or something dried onto the side that hadn't been wiped off.
- Roger (8/5): Clean, Comfortable and everything works properly. -
- Janette (10/5): Awesome place Hidden Treasure - Lovely place
Spotless Nothing
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Nice clean nice rooms.worth the fee.beautifull surroundings.and quiet.
- Paul (8/5): Good room facilities close to the airport - Simple self-check-in. Good standard of room. Good simple continental breakfast left in room with fridge. Some vinyl floor tiles needed fixing.
- Natasha (9/5): Excellent booked again as ideal for airport - Self check in didn’t need to see any one, lovely facilities, breakfast was brilliant as going to airport didn’t need to worry about getting something on route in early hours or whilst at airport The noise from car park as gravel but not a big issue and noise of other guests which isn’t the facilities fault
- Revay (9/5): Superb -
- Gemma (9/5): Amazing place to stay - Beautiful location, the estate is well maintained and sign posted for directions. It has well kept rooms which were both comfortable and clean
We would definitely stay again if flying from Bristol airport as it was in close proximity. The room breakfast was great!! Absolutely nothing
- Laughton (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet location, there was no restaurant on site, but there was a bar during the afternoon.
You could’ve walk to the nearby reservoir and pubs and a small village were a short drive.
Close location to Bristol Airport Not a mark against Aldwick estate..
Access is down some narrow lanes, so if you’re driving there, which you probably are, you have to negotiate those roads. Some drivers may find it a bit unnerving - but it is well worth it.
- Sascha (9/5): Aldwick estate is a stunning location and the area is beautiful. The room was of a high standard and there was a lovely - Beautiful location, gorgeous views and stunning vineyard to walk round. Very generous breakfast provided. The bed was a bit too hard.
- Nathan (10/5): Amazing picturesque views with amazing facilities - Beautiful estate, clean / tidy and amazing staff who couldn’t do enough for us.
We stayed in what I believe to be the old horse stables and it was magnificent with glorious views
Oh and lovely wine from their vine yard Nothing it was amazing
- Graz (10/5): The property is near the airport in a quite place, so clean and great for family with small kids - The property was near to the airport Everything was perfect
- Bufton (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (10/5): Perfect - The accommodation was perfect for us. It had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were spotless, and the setting was beautiful.
- Ian (9/5): A great location for a relaxing short stay. - The breakfast option was very good as there was a good choice. The location with views of the Mendip Hills, was lovely and the staff, particularly Howard, were very friendly and helpful. The wine tasting tour was great and informative. Nothing springs to mind.
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Abhirama (9/5): Superb -
- Giles (3/5): Poor - no iron or ironing board and couldn't get hold of anyone to obtain one even the housekeeping number no body answered not one staff member on site ? bizarre
- Stefanie (9/5): Superb -
- Dawson (6/5): Pleasant - Views. basic self catering but nothing special without access to any other onsite facilities
1 block of 4 terraced with sound travelling between rooms noisy from 5am so departed as soon as possible not best pleased.
- Ian (10/5): If I am ever in your part of the world again I will definitely book a night or two. - Remote, idylic with friendly and accommodating staff. It was all very perfect
- Carrie (9/5): Was a lovely stay with beautiful surroundings. We were just absolutely gutted that we got caught in bad traffic so ended -
- Snape (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, gorgeous room Breakfast was continental in the room, which I hadn't fully appreciated when I booked, as it just said breakfast included
- Jesica (10/5): Exceptional - A very relaxing place...super clean!!!
- Carole (8/5): Pleasantly surprised with the room. Would return - Very nice room with a good breakfast and the location very picturesque. Could hear next door leaving in the early hours
- Christopher (9/5): Superb -
- Jacqui (10/5): Lovely place for a stop over, will return when I am in the area. - Location was fantastic.
Breakfast was plentiful, but feel they could of supplied some fruit, rather than too many cakes, pastries.
- Jon (8/5): Cosy room really handy for the airport - Great location close to Bristol Airport. Lovely cosy room and en-suite, with brilliant facilities for the value of the room. The takeaway breakfast is a great touch for the value of the room. Our room was in the block that is effectively in the car park so very late arrivals are quite noisy due to the gravel finish. It would have been a big plus if the blind on the rooflight was a blackout blind as the light in the room was too bright from the early hours.
- Jayne (9/5): Wish I could have stayed longer - The room was compact with everything a solo traveller could need. Beautifully presented, gorgeous grounds, helpful and friendly staff, great wine. The location while lovely was very difficult to get taxi/uber from and to. You need to drive if you want to leave the property
- Pamela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeanette (10/5): Excellent - Beautiful location super clean and modern Hubby unhappy no shaver socket 😟
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (8/5): Well maintained room, good parking to leave the car whilst on holiday. - We stayed so we could leave our car and stay overnight on return. The parking was great and good value for money. The room was good and there was a good buffet breakfast left for the morning. The staff we spoke to when making our booking were excellent. The blinds in the room are very light, so when other guests left for the airport at 5am, we were woken and it was light in the room to try and get back to sleep.
Whilst the location, room and car parking are good, the taxi to and from the airport to stay here is expensive.
- Michelle (9/5): Great place and facilities - All of it, accom, food and ease of booking Can't think of anything
- Emma (9/5): Superb -
- Dianne (9/5): Superb - Clean, and well planned. Roof light let too much light in and woke us early.
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phil (8/5): Very good -
- Cazzy (9/5): Quite ideal to get to Bristol airport breakfast to go was excellent. - Quiet and tranquil Did fine a long black hair on top of the duvet
- Andreas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (10/5): Excellent value for money stay. - Excellent 1 night stay for getting to Bristol Airport for an early start. The unit was immaculately clean, in a great location in the middle of the countryside, but just 8 minute drive to silver zone car park. The bed was comfy, and a really good shower. The continental breakfast was excellent. Porridge pots, orange juice, croissants, flapjacks, biscuits, and tea and coffee. I could not fault anything about staying here. Will definitely recommend it to friends. Nothing
- Shaun (8/5): Fab little find.. would stay again - Location great for getting to airport next day although off beaten track. Great view to wake up to in the morning. Peaceful apart from below. Comfortable high quality room. The blinds let I light early morning could do with some sort of black out. Ppl leaving around 5.15am awoke us as noisy shoes on floor & banging back & forth. Breakfast was nice but most of it one of us couldn't eat
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ed (10/5): Exceptional - Immaculate accommodation
- Gill (10/5): Exceptional - The lovely picturesque location Nothing
- Petula (10/5): Lovely location, beautiful room, good nights sleep before flight. - Lovely setting and not far to Bristol airport Nothing
- Charley (9/5): Lovely short stay! - Lovely room with parking directly outside. We arrived later in the evening and the room was waiting with our name on it. The room was well equipped and the breakfast was lovely and very appreciated. Would recommend and would definitely stay again! We loved everything about it the only small thing we’d say is that it was very light in the morning. When the sun rose at 6am the light was beaming through quite intensely. Other than that it was absolutely great!
- Rayhum (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet.
Spotless accommodation.
- Lisa (6/5): Lovely stay - Lovely location, modern room with all facilities needed. The blinds let in a lot of light and we would expect blackout blinds for a hotel room.
Also the TV automatically turned on at 7am, presumably a previous visitor had set this alarm but it was rather annoying to be woken.
