Guest Reviews
- Garry (10/5): Very pleasant would book again - Clean easy to find
- Rupert (8/5): Great location, plenty of space. - Lots of space. Good location. big kitchen, lots of plates / glasses / etc. A wooden spoon, chopping board (apart from the very heavy stone one) and collander would have been useful.
- Andrew (7/5): Good value with good amenities for the price. Needs some TLC. - Had facilities we needed as we didn’t stay in the house much. Good price for the accommodation. Apart from damp, kitchen facilities good. Beds were comfortable. Needs TLC. Alot of the house shows wear and tear with a strong smell of damp in the kitchen. Shower cubicles in bathroom and main room showing age and need re decorating although showers provide a good flow of hot water. 4 adults staying but only 3 deck chairs in back yard area.
- Júlia (10/5): Lovely cottage - We loved this cottage! It was very clean, spacious and well-designed. Especially liked the mining memorabilia and the small details around the house that represent the local history. The host Neil was responsive and nice, he had lots of useful information printed in the house to help us find our way around the area. Nothing
- Andrea (9/5): The property was great, served as a perfect base to visit a few places around my daughter’s graduation. Great comms from - Very homely.
- Marián (10/5): -
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Jakubiak (10/5): Exceptional - The house is very spacious, warm and comfortable with a lot of character :), it has everything you need for self-catering stay.
We loved the location, Coxhoe is a lovely village :) Plus it was our base for day trip to Northumberland (car), Durham (bus) and Edinburgh (train from Durham). Great value for money
Lovely welcoming neighbours and accommodating Host - thank you
- Loraine (7/5): Comfortable stay, clean and spacious, well located for family and amenities. - The property was clean, spacious and well equipped. Location was prefect for us to visit family and lots of amenities at hand. The neighbors were friendly too. The host was easy to get in contact with when we had a problem. The property needs a couple of repairs done which would make a stay in the winter more comfortable.
The door to conservatory needs to be fixed as a draft blow through on the coldest days and back door need to be replaced for the same reason, this would not be a problem any other time of the year. We also had a problem with the electric in the kitchen and unfortunately due to it being the holidays it did not get fixed, so we had to manage with no oven or microwave and using kettle and toaster in the dining room, but it did not spoil the holiday just meant we had to eat out more.
- Dean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roland (9/5): Second visit to this great property - Cozy warm comfortable cottage in for us an ideal location. Nothing
- Suresh (9/5): Superb - Should have additional toilets.
- Fiona (8/5): A very clean and comfortable cottage. - A very clean and comfortable cottage, very well maintained and most things worked well. A second toilet would have been useful. The extractor fan in the ensuite didn't work.
- Mandy (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice cottage, very central for the places we wanted to visit. Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerry (5/5): Just a little attention to detail and it would be phenomenal - It's a beautiful house with a lot of potential. Bedding, towels etc were clean. Local history honoured with mining artefacts It just doesn't look finished. Flaking paint, skirting boards hanging off and only 4 sofa seats in the main lounge despite the cottage sleeping 6
- Justin (8/5): Very good - The property was perfect for our needs. Good location as well.
- Roland (10/5): It was a fantastic base for us while we visited family and the north east - Very comfortable in a quiet location, spacious with kitchen facilities. Good heating Nothing
- Linda (10/5): Durham cottage - Very comfortable including beds and pillows. Good location. Neighbour really helpful. Nothing really,
- Dale (8/5): Huge property nice and clean would stay again - Excellent location in the middle of Coxhoe Need to fix the patio door
