Guest Reviews
- Robert (9/5): - Loved 'the Loft' room - very spacious and comfortable. Bed could have been a bit firmer (but that is our own preference)
- Raewyn (8/5): Warm and cosy - Suited our needs. Very grateful for the breakfast provisions. Thankyou!
- Tony (6/5): -
- Tracey (8/5): -
- Jodie (7/5): -
- Gai (9/5): Recommend minimum 3 day stay. - This was a perfect location for our plans and activities. Loved it! Too short a visit!
- Brett (5/5): -
- Karl (7/5): We enjoyed our stay was a great location. - Lovely breakfast home made bread.š Comfortable bed. Beautiful view. The room was a little tired looking.
- Merona (8/5): This was a great place to stay - close to town, good facilities and with beautiful water views. - It was warm, comfortable and had good facilities. There were very generous food provisions for breakfast: fresh bread, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, tea, coffee & even muesli bars. The taps and the toilet flushing were incredibly noisy.
- Linda (4/5): very quiet with outstanding views - Great view, bed was a little soft. Quite old building, Better information regarding the room. has to get staff to help with the air conditioning
- kathy (6/5): - A clean floor would have made a difference. Felt like floor hasn't been cleaned and mopped in weeks.
- Wanda (9/5): - Proximity to all attractions. Nice views. Breakfast basket filled with freshly, home made bread amongst other things.
- Pat (7/5): - Beautiful views The shower being over a spa bath hard for an older person to get in and out of and very uncomfortable on your feet
- Joanne (10/5): Loved our stay, good base for the Gordon river cruise and view 42 is a must for a meal. - It was clean, cosy and very spacious. The view was amazing. We booked the loft, it was great for us, but there were a few steps to get up to it.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Clean
Breakfast Old smell (but not too bad)
- Gary (8/5): -
- Lyn (9/5): It was nice comfortable & clean with a very pretty location - well located & peaceful nothing
- Stephen (7/5): -
- Solveig (8/5): Rainy but comfortable Strahan stay. - Communication, location, size of room, comfortable bed, excellent and plentiful breakfast basket, efficient heaters. No complaints.
- ingrid (8/5): -
- Stanislav (10/5): - Perfect location, clean rooms, nice view over the bay, a small breakfast basket in the room.
- Francine (8/5): - Great view across to the township and waterway of Strahan. There was no sink to wash dishes in the suites. Had to wash dishes etc in the bathroom sink.
Being that the case a dish drying mat would have been appropriate to lie wet dishes on instead of the bathroom towel.
- John (9/5): -
- Lisa (9/5): Beautiful place to stay - The location is beautiful and a lovely view of Strahan. Itās like your own private unit, with lots of space. The bed was very comfortable and I liked that it was a separate room. The variety of food for breakfast was great and fresh bread too. Nothing too major but the light switch for when going to sleep is too hard to reach from your bed, you have to get out of bed to turn it off.
- James (10/5): -
- Mike (10/5): Memorable trip- a sanctuary for recovery - Like a green sanctuary with beautiful view of Strahan harbour
- Adam (10/5): - We stayed in the loft which was spacious and had a good view across the bay to Strahan.
We were able to walk into Strahan which was about a kilometre level walk.
- Geoff (10/5): Highly recommend - views of harbour from our bed fantastic
breakfast supplies outstanding nil
- Nicole (8/5): - Beautifully quiet and amazing view over the harbour It was a bit of a walk to food etc but lovely path to walk on
- Peter (10/5): Great location. - Every thing, even the port that was supplied. Every thing was great, no complaints at all
- Mark (7/5): - Location was excellent.
- Soos (8/5): Lovely location - Location was lovely. Staff superb. We enjoyed our stay. We're able to do laundry which was great for us. Facilities like BBQ, laundry very tired, not clean. Room was comfortable but also a bit tired and needed a deep clean.
- Sarah (8/5): Amazing views, quiet location & an extra comfy bed - perfect spot to stay in Strahan. - Loved the view, the room was a great size with plenty of amenities to make toast, a cuppa, etc. Big spa and a super comfy bed. General cleanliness (found a dirty wine glass on balcony when we arrived) but honestly it was pretty good, can't complain.
- Allan (8/5): -
- Angelika (8/5): Wir kommen sehr gern wieder - Besonders das freundliche Personal! Küchenutensilien im Schrank konnten nur im Waschbecken (Bad) gesäubert werden.
- Pamela (10/5): -
- Tess (10/5): A perfect base for 2 nights, exploring Strahan. - We had the Loft - the suite above reception and it was just lovely. Really clean and comfortable and home made bread ready for breakfast!
- Shannon (7/5): Great location, stunning view but needs improvement - The location is very close to town and the view is stunning. We really enjoyed the breakfast basket but some days felt like they put minimal effort in. For example you get two coffee pods but these werenāt restocked the following day. Tv had Netflix which was a great addition. Our room had a bad smell the whole time we were there. We placed two small towels on the ground to be replaced as we used them to dry our dishes for two days and the towels were never replaced and remained on the floor for 2 days. The bed was half made each morning. I donāt need my bed made but it seems strange to me to half make a bed rather then leave it as is.
- James (5/5): 50/50 - Location and view. ( no other guests was good as it was quiet) Had to chase up gas for bbq as its only way of cooking. Ants all over fridge and bench. Had to wash cups/plates in vanity sink. Ran out of hot water after two short showers. Unaware if staying longer u only get 1 small loaf of bread ( trivial) for duration breakfast. Feel like owner/ management is giving up, maintance needed.
- kim (10/5): So enjoyable and relaxing. - It was very comfortable and quiet. In great walking distance to where we wanted to go. The home made bread was sooo good. It was perfect for us.
- Melissa (7/5): Great pet friendly accommodation - Pet friendly
Amazing view and location Its a bit dated but still comfortable
- Jennifer (7/5): We did enjoy our stay - It was located well. Breakfast was provided which was great. Lovely spa bath. It was not as clean as we would expect for the quality of the accommodation, curtains had mould on them, which they did wash, but they needed replacing and the carpet wasn't very clean.
- Amy (8/5): We had a very peaceful stay in a spacious suite. - Our apartment at Gordon Gateway was spacious and comfortable, we were appreciative of the heating put on before our arrival as it was very cold and wet. Various cooking facilities are provided as is a simple breakfast. The apartment appeared to have been recently repainted. Heat lamps in the bathroom are a great addition. Despite new curtains in the bedroom, light came in at night from the external building lights.
- Leeanne (3/5): This accommodation was overpriced for what was offered. Room needed to be thoroughly aired and amenities/ room inclu - Quiet location
Comfortable bed
Guest laundry
Breakfast supplies were available in room, coffee pod machine and other cooking items supplied to room Room smelt very musty/dank
Towels were thin and frayed, washer was discoloured
Mismatched cutlery and crockery and cups were not clean
No inside locks on door.
Room was not serviced during our stay which meant we had to chase up breakfast supplies for the second day
No shower gel/bath wash or tissues in room
- Emma (8/5): -
- Lovepreet Singh (8/5): -
- Sanet (10/5): Fabulous - All the food was exceptional. Staff were frickin awesome and the coffee⦠DELISH š Everything was excellent. Really enjoyed staying here ā¤ļø
- Anthony (8/5): As described, good value, location and views. - Was clean, great location, breakfast. Only one roll of toilet paper upon check in, no tissues in the box, and no instructions re use of washing machine.
- Salvatore (7/5): -
- ellen (8/5): -
- Tina (8/5): - Check in; cleanliness; location
- Joy (10/5): - I can not speak highly enough of this beautiful resort . I must say the facilities were amazing. The breakfast with home made bread and everything else you need for a great meal to start the day. It was without doubt the best value for money of anywhere Iāve ever stayed . A big shout out to all the staff who were all just lovely and helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and I hope I get the chance to return there again In the future Nothing could have been better it was perfect
- michelle (10/5): -
- Janeen (9/5): -
- Keith (6/5): - Position and view. Yes it was clean, but very dated, went to make a coffee with the in room coffee machine and still had sour milk in the frother. Quite disappointed for the high price. Tv
- Christopher (10/5): great place highly recommend to all - had a great time just what they wife need no
- HEW (9/5): Good value. - Comfortable. Heaters worked. Quiet. On site parking. Nice view across the river of town centre. 2 large balconies. Generous breakfast provided including cereals. Everything worked. Nil
- michelle (10/5): - The little touches(breakfast basket. Nothing
- Timothy (6/5): Lovely stay in Strahan Gordon Gateway had comfy beds & a good kitchenette. - Breakfast was adequate great views but accommodation is a bit dated needs some updating! Staff were fantastic & helped with anything needed! Good basic accommodation & lovely staff
- Klaus (8/5): A short but good stay. - Staff were approachable and helpful
- Anne (8/5): This was convenient place to stay for our exploring around Strahan. - This was a compact apartment with a great view across the bay to Strahan. Plenty of easy access parking. Verandah to sit out and watch the water and birds. The rooms feel a little tired and need a refresh. It was a little disappointing that with the limited kitchen facilities you had to use the bathroom sink for filling the kettle and washing your cups and plates.
- Jo (8/5): Great value, great location and lovely staff. - Location and facilities were great. We were able to use the barbeque to self cater and the fresh bread provided as part of our included breakfasts was great. Some minor maintenance needed to our room (someone had previously opened the door forcefully leaving a hole in the plasterboard behind. The join between the vinyl flooring and the carpet hadnāt been finished so the carpet at the join was fraying. However, these were minor things and didnāt detract from our stay.
- Janet (7/5): -
- Yasmin (9/5): -
- Claudia (7/5): Nice view and location. Maintenance needs attention. - Location and views Our room the flinders had a strong sewerage/ musty smell. We tried airing room but made no difference. I assume issue with plumbing. Also spa bath did not work and we booked room specifically for spa bath.
- Anna (10/5): - Great location. Peaceful and convenient. Breakfast was generous and more than meet our needs.
- moore (9/5): - Lovely staff and service
Fresh baked bread
Beautiful views
Even was allowed to have a fire š„ N/A
- Alexis (5/5): -
- Ang (6/5): Would not be back sorry. - Was good location for what activities we had planned.. It would have been nicer not to be in a room with a barking dog next door. Also spa only worked when you kept hand on button.
- Lochlan (4/5): -
- Bariaa (9/5): We loved it & it was very clean & well priced. - The location & the size of the accommodation was absolutely awesome
The view was stunning
The host was lovely & very accommodating The only thing that disappointed us was the spa did not work!!
- Tony (10/5): -
- Kim (8/5): -
- Helen (9/5): -
- Kathleen (10/5): Comfortable and close to everything - The location and the views There is no real kitchen facilities, just a microwave and toaster. You have to wash the dishes in the bathroom sink.
- Harrison (7/5): Good base for exploring and close to shops and restaurants. - Good breakfast just need spreads for the bread The ground outside on the grass was wet and soggy.
- Jodie (10/5): Very relaxing and perfect for a get away - The property was very equipped the room ( the loft ) amazing The amenities and the quietness
- Jamie (7/5): Fantastic lovely location close to everything with awesome views of the town - Fantastic location with exceptional views A bit outdated with very basic breakfast , could have been a bit cleaner with more condiments available , spa room didnāt work properly but overall ok
- Ernest (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (8/5): Very good -
- Tania (9/5): Superb - It was central to were we needed to be
- Fletcher (9/5): Superb - Looked great and clean. Great view The bed was pretty average
- Cohen (8/5): Fantastic spot and the river cruise was magic - Stunning location looking back over at the main part of Strahan. The BBQ on the side porch was a great and the breakfast basket had all the essentials. With a quick to heat room it was very cosy The fridge was missing a door panel so a little hard to store some items, though not a big issue. Some kindling for the fire pit would have been a little more helpful to
- Craig (8/5): Very good - It's a bit dated inside the rooms but comfy
- Shane (7/5): Relaxing stay - It was very close to Strahan, which made it easy to get around. It had an amazing view. It was close to the Gordon River cruises.
The room had plenty of PowerPoint's. The heater in the bedroom was really good. The TV'S were both smart and able to be used for watching TV shows and movies with our phone. The bathroom is like a wet toilet and reminded the wife of Asia. Water all over the floor all the time.
- Andrea (8/5): We would gladly stay at Gordon Gateway again, away from "town" and traffic. - It was delightful to have a selection of cereals, plus fruit juice, milk, tea and coffee, and a carafe of port or such, waiting for us on arrival. The receptionist, Lydia I think, was extremely helpful in helping us out with some laundry. One of their machines was out of action, and being in a remote location, service people for machines are not readily available. Lydia took our laundry and put it through her own washing machine and dryer, which was a blessing indeed. We walked around the property and enjoyed the bush surrounding the place and the lawns out the front overlooking the river. We are not bright light people so an adjustable lamp would have been appreciated in our sitting room. Just a thought.
- Denise (10/5): Great place to stay - Great location and view . Comfy bed and bathroom had a spa bath which was nice .
We arrived early but the lovely lady checked are room and let us in early no problem. This can make a huge difference when travelling as timing is difficult. Nothing
- Julie (4/5): Lovely view but feel photos on booking.com must be from years ago - Lovely view and very quiet
Close to town We were told we would get a txt message for a no contact check in. We never received one. Then reception wasnāt manned. Spoke to lady through door bell re room etc.
things are a bit dated and could do with a refresh.
Crockery had some chips which is a health issue. Also towels were a bit old. Bed was comfortable but pillows were shocking.
- Luana (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous hosts couldn't do enough for you stayed in lady franklin suite awesome spa bath servicing if you wanted everyday but not needed thankyou loved it perfect view š Loved everything ā¤ļø
