- Wayne (9/5): Great stay at Linden retreat, lovely welcome from the hosts making you feel right at home. - Superb location, great hosts, exceptionally clean, loads of lovely touches here and there which really adds to the experience.
- Mihir (9/5): Cosy historic retreat! - Enjoyed my 2 night stay in this cosy historic retreat!
- Jeff (10/5): Great place and fantastic hosts. - Nice location, the cottage was very clean and comfortable. Paddy greeted us as we pulled in and showed us everything. I highly recommend it.
- Corrine (8/5): Perfect, such a freindly and warm place, met lots of residents, and a few dogs!!! - Very Cosy, great facilities, welcoming, wonderful views, splendid host, gorgeous furnishings!! it was perfect for us, a home from home, despite the short stay
- Natasha (10/5): Smooth check in and comfortable - Comfortable and quiet. Easy check in
- Georgia (10/5): -
- Sabeeka (10/5): -

- Sam (10/5): - This was a really well decorated, cozy property to stay in for the weekend. It comes with everything you’ll need for a short stay - working kitchen, parking, a lovely bathtub with working jets and a super comfy bed. The owners were also extremely helpful and friendly with adorable dogs! Highly recommend!
- Megan (10/5): -
- Steff60 (8/5): Grazioso! - Grazioso appartamentino. Perfettamente curato nei particolari, arredamento molto gradevole. Check-in e check-out snello. Facile da raggiungere con le loro indicazioni. Il proprietario attento e disponibile! Ci vorrebbe una luce fissa fuori dalla porta perchè è veramente buio :)
- James (10/5): Great, cosy warm apartment, beautiful. - Great decor, clean and comfy. Low ceiling not for everyone
- Simon (10/5): -
- Patricia (9/5): - Beautifully renovated historic stone house, truly a labor of love by the owners. Fully equipped with attention to detail. A true gem! Difficult to find even with GPS.
- Le Lan (8/5): Anfitriones amables y atentos - La amabilidad de los anfitriones Creo que éramos 4 personas adultas y el lugar era pequeño. De todos modos tuvimos una buena estancia.
- Nicola (9/5): -
- Melinda (10/5): - Absolutely everything! Thank you Peddy and Rachael for the warm welcome! we had to go home, I wished I could have stayed longer!
- Lee (10/5): What a little hidden gem. This place is a home from home with everything you need provided for comfort and convenience. - Location, views, facilities, decor, bed Nothing to not like
- Vikas (9/5): The hosts were fabulous and our stay was lovely - Cutest cottage living Really tiny kitchen and bathroom
- Adrian (9/5): - The cottage is really lovely - somewhere I would definitely book again and a perfect base for exploring the local surroundings. The lane up to the property is slightly tricky to navigate and turn around in once you arrive at the property but fine for an average sized car.
- Constantin Serban (9/5): Pleasant and comfortable - A very nice and comfortable ground level apartment (bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom), with a fair surface area (for England), in a very old building (preserves old structural elements - wooden beams and stone walls), renovated with style and quality materials and with very tasteful furniture and decorations. Suitable for two guests, it provides all the necessary (including comfortable bed, linen and towels, TV, equipped kitchen and bathroom, underfloor heating) for a short and medium-term stay. We were awaited by the host with a welcome pack - snacks and drinks. Parking place is ensured and the apartment is positioned at 20-30 minutes drive to major tourist attractions in Cotswolds. There is a very comprehensive Tourist Guide folder offered by the host. The price is more than OK - compared with similar locations and taking into account what the place offers. Small things. First, the sofa bed (for two) from the living room, only when unfolded for sleeping, makes it difficult to pass from bedroom to kitchen and bathroom - that is the main reason I recommend this place for two guests. The second is the threshold (one step), between the living room and the kitchen, and the three-step staircase in the bathroom (going down to the bathtub and toilet) - older people and those with mobility issues may have some difficulties. And a night light may be needed in the kitchen (there are motion-activated lights in the bathroom). People taller than one meter eighty may have some problems when moving from one room to another (the ceiling is low). Access to the place is via a steep and narrow road - big cars (large SUVs for instance) may have some difficulties in accessing the place.
- Jane (9/5): Superb & special! - Beautifully decorated and clever use of space. Lovely touches- good books, excellent hair & body products, lots of thoughtful food items. A very special place to stay.. lovely hosts & their gorgeous dogs. Very good base to explore an interesting area. Thank you very much .
- Helena (9/5): Great accommodation - Perfect for our needs Slightly unclear instructions- turn 3rd right once on Churchill Road - we are on the parallel road after Cotswold Close ( where sat nav takes you to) we are the 2nd house on left.
Coat hooks behind front door (especially in colder wet weather) and hooks/towel rail to put dry towel in bathroom would be handy in bath area.
Lovely comfy bed - thinner duvets in summer
Not sure where hot tub was?
- Sue (10/5): A very pleasant stay in a super comfy appartment which was very clean and had all that we needed. - The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The appartment was super clean and we loved sitting out on the terrace in the evening where we cooked steaks on the BBQ. Had a pleasant pint at the Stroud Brewery taproom nearby.
- Antonia (10/5): Perfect getaway for our daughters birthday - Great little place, just right for our family night away. Very clean beautifully decorated and lovely owners
- Nicole (10/5): We loved our stay..highly recommended.. - Very clean..well equiped and comfortable bed..
Warm and inviting..felt like home..
Hosts..Rachael and Paddy were friendly..helpful and full of information on local areas.. Nothing
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely place done to a high standard. Easy to access.
- Sharman (9/5): Amazing! Would definitely go again a - The location was lovely, prefect setting for a weekend away
- Brett (7/5): This is a nice location for a 2 night stay in the area with easy access to canal and cafes. - Good location and comfortable bed. nice decorations very small and dark space noisy water pump going off right by bath as you want peace.
- Clara (8/5): Cute and tiny apartment. Great area to explore. It has everything you need. - Cute apartment in the ground floor of the owner house. Kitchen very complete like the bathroom, modern, clean and tidy. Host was friendly and helpful. 4 people can sleep here, but eating or just hanging out is a bit more tricky as the space is tiny. Low ceiling and as we are a family 1.80 meter tall, it makes the space feel smaller.
- Aesopsfrog (6/5): Disappointed. - Car Parking area was more than adequate. Woman who met us was very helpful with everything we needed help with. eg, put an item in their fridge freezer for us. We felt claustrophobic, kitchen was very small, the fridge is not really a fridge but a mini bar and although I had looked forward to cooking as it stated there was a stove/oven, it did have a lovely stove and oven, but we had to cram our food into the tiny fridge space, luckily we did not buy the icecream we had thought about, as the tiny freezer is designed for ice trays.
- Natzio (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely little 'retreat' beneath the hosts property. Cosy, comfortable, and well equipped. We had a lovely few nights in Linden Retreat and would definitely return. The kitchen is well equipped, and a little boozy surprise on arrival was a bonus! Beds are comfortable, and the underfloor heating was an excellent surprise. Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay. Nothing to not like! Just to note, if you're on the taller side, the ceilings aren't particularly high 😉 not an issue for us, though!
- Amy (8/5): Lovely place, probably best suited to couples - Loved the decor and furniture It’s a little noisy, can hear movement above a lot of the time, as someone who is in bed by 930, I was kept awake for a while
- Justin (9/5): Great location to access Stroud Valleys - Sofa was a little uncomfortable. Drainage in bathroom noisy, but understand macerated needs to do its thing
- Miranda (10/5): Unique luxurious accommodation with a stunning view and lovely hosts. - This is the best booking.com
We have stayed in. Highlights:
Luxury decor- Rachel is an interior designer
Super comfy bed
Vey quiet
Lovely views
Very friendly hosts who could give local recommendations
We felt revived even after only one night away and will return. Nothing
- Melanie (9/5): Perfect - Utterly beautiful place and super comfy bed, lovely hosts Need some Hangers!
- Ilias (8/5): Very good -
- Gnana (8/5): Very good -
- Madalina (10/5): Exceptional - The decor throughout, beds were comfortable, hosts super friendly. Bathroom was a bit noisy when flushing the toilet.
- Edward (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Noel (10/5): Beautiful, romantic, snug, hideaway with a charming character! - This was one of the most beautiful places I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. The decor was finished beautifully, everything is stunning and has so much character! I stayed there by myself, but this would definitely be somewhere for a couple wanting a romantic break. Nothing, the property is perfect in every way!
- Graham (9/5): Superb -
- Angela (9/5): Gorgeous retreat on the outskirts of Stroud, with stunning views. - Good location, beautifully decorated.
- Deborah (7/5): Good -
- Freya (10/5): A cosy stay in beautifully decorated apartment - We had such a wonderful stay at Linden Retreat. Friendly hosts, super easy check-in with helpful directions. The place itself is gorgeous! Really beautifully decorated throughout, it felt super cosy and was the perfect place for us for a night away in the gorgeous Cotswold countryside. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
- Natasha (10/5): Cosy cottage - lovely stay - Beautiful homely cosy cottage. Had a fantastic nights sleep. The hosts kindly let us check out an hour late and generously offered to drop us in Stroud. N/A
- Wendy (10/5): Sweet little retreat - Recommended! - Gorgeous location, lovely property with character and nice facilities. Lovely couple too, who were very warm, friendly and welcoming. And cute dogs as a bonus!! Nothing
- Angela (9/5): Gorgeous accommodation, beautifully decorated. Everything we needed for a lovely stay in Stroud. Highly recommended. - Beautifully decorated, high spec accommodation. Loved the movement sensitive lighting in the kitchen & bathroom. Nothing, it was all great.
- Christopher (10/5): The accommodation exceeded our expectations and will certainly book again. - Accommodation was clean, cosy and comfortable and ideally situated for our needs. After a long day it was the ideal place to rest and relax, the surroundings being quiet. The host Rachael was welcoming. A very minor point, the addition of a microwave in the kitchen to quickly heat snacks/drinks would have been useful - but this did not detract from our enjoyable stay.
- Lee (9/5): Great stay, good find !! - Really good stay !
- Lewis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (10/5): Restful, pleasant after a long day - Very clean, loved the down lights in the kitchen which were sensor active. Bed comfy and beautiful decor and hosts very welcoming. Snacks very thoughtful and appreciated Nothing not to like
- Nurulhuda (8/5): Generally a nice comfortable stay - Nice quaint little place. Location is pretty Not very sound proof as can hear movement from upstairs.
Could be prettier if the wallpaper is a different design.
- Miriam (10/5): Everything was great! And the hosts very friendly - Everything was great! And the hosts very friendly
- Julie (9/5): Had a great stay, with the most amazing hosts - Hosts were amazing and made us feel welcome immediately. The retreat is beautifully decorated and had everything needed for a few nights stay. Nothing - had a great stay
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Gary (10/5): Great place for a peaceful get away - Really nicely furnished and decorated had all the equipment too and had a really nice outlook nice and tranquil surroundings
- John (8/5): Absolute gem of a place to stay, I am definiely going to go back! - The flat is surprisingly big, a lot bigger than I expected, and is very well presented. The design of the interior is slightly quirky, but done very well indeed. Everything was immaculate and very clean, with great facilities to hand and milk and beer in the fridge!!
While there are no views out of the window, you are able to use the patio in front of the main house with great views across the wooded valley below. You may also have the companionship of a very fiendly cat if you do sit there! Nothing of note, although being a basement conversion the headroom is slightly restricted by the sink in the bathroom, but perfectly fine everywhere else.
The owners live in the house above so you do sometimes have the sound of footsteps above, but it isn't too intrusive.
The parking space is right by the entrance to the flat, so is very convenient, but ignore the instructions on the web, you can park in the middle of the space!! I took ages to make sure I parked close into the right hand side but was told I didn't need too! I think the description is going to be changed soon, but if you stay here, don't worry about the parking.
- Jonathan (10/5): Charming and owners were great - Comfortable Nothing
- Simon (9/5): We enjoyed our stay -
- Eleanor (9/5): Would have liked to have stayed more than one night. - A lovely flat, beautifully decorated. Walks on your door, not far from cafe or restaurant. Lovely hosts. Nothing.
- Paul (10/5): Simply lovely - It was lovely, wonderful little place, clean and tidy Paddy and Racheal were brilliant
- Darren (10/5): Exceptional - Location is beautiful. Hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. Sofa bed is also very comfortable Access road is pretty narrow so proceed with caution if you are in a big vehicle
- Rawson (10/5): A gem of a stay, spectacular views and fab hosts - Sharp decor, very well thought out space with all I needed, super comfortable and immaculate throughout. Highly recommended. N/A
- Wilko (7/5): Good place to stay - Friendly hosts. Fast responses. Lovely appartment, spacious and nice decorated. Comfortable beds. Very clean. Everything needed was on hand. Good shower. Nice welcome treats (food and drink), Difficult to find via our GPS, steep road to the appartement. Difficult to park your car. Tiny fridge. Vvery noisy for internal sounds (walking sounds of feet and dogs above your head). The ceiling is quite low which could be cumbersome for tall people.
- Nancy (9/5): Lovely relaxing retreat in stylish flat with outstanding views. - Lovely retreat in beautiful location. The property is very well furnished and tastefully decorated. Very well equipped with a very comfortable bed and relaxing living area. Good bathroom with a powerful shower and plenty of hot water. Lovely extra touches to make you feel welcome - beer, G&T in particular very much appreciated! The property is very quiet so you have a restful nights sleep and relaxing day. Area to sit out is lovely although being renovated when I was there with great views across the valley. The owners are very friendly and helpful but give you space if you need it. This is a basement flat so although very cosy does not have views from the windows and can be quite dark in the daytime. Nothing
- Shaz (9/5): Lovely - Comfortable Bed, loved the spa bath , nice decor and the automatic lights in kitchen and bathroom . Just a small thing needed a parasol .
- Caroline (10/5): Really wonderful & quain apartment, loved the little additionals - mini chocolates, crisps, tea etc -
- Gail (9/5): Lovely but low - Lovely decor, tastefully done
Good facilities
Very comfy bed With a 6ft 3in guest, it was a bit awkward. Very low ceilings.
- Liberty (9/5): A gorgeous find! - We had a lovely couple of days at Linden Villa whilst we were in the area for a wedding. Paddy and Rachel were extremely helpful even though they were away for the weekend. The place is done out so wonderfully, super cosy, feels like a real treat and perfect for a short getaway. Nothing - being SUPER picky maybe a pod coffee machine would be a nice extra touch? Oh and we couldn't find any tea towels in the kitchen... but might not have been looking properly! Otherwise couldn't fault it! I
- Tuula (8/5): Very good - The apartment was indeed beautiful, but... The fridge was tiny and not good for longer stays. It would be better to put a proper fridge where the oven now is and put a micro on the wall instead. A tall person could not stand straight in the kitchen and in the bathroom. You could see out only through the kitchen door. The couch was not comfortable, nor were the chairs. One also hears the sounds from upstairs, even though it didn't bother us very much.
- Takahiro (10/5): Everything we needed was in the rooms and we were very satisfied. - The messages sent by the host the day before was so kindness as they told us how to get to the hotel by car.
We looked forward cooking by ourselves and had a pretty good dinner time in the wonderful room because they prepared all of kitchen stuffs we are able to cook super easy.
Also all rooms are well cleaned.
Thank you for everything and we would stay again. The bathtub plug didn’t work well.
- Sherri (10/5): Quaint town, stylish and comfortable, with added touches such as coffee tea, milk and G&T for the evening! - Wonderful hosts, beautiful property, clean and comfortable bed! Nothing- terrific!
- Romina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (9/5): Superb - Rachael and Paddy are so friendly, they do have great recommendations and have a cosy apartment. I do have a lot of back pain und I can truly say: The bed is pretty good and high quality. OIf you are tall, you maybe will have problems with the height of the flat, but the whole apartment is in general awesome :-)
- Charlie (10/5): Very friendly people, very nice property - Very comfortable
- Callum (9/5): Superb -
- Jack (9/5): Superb -
- Jasmine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (8/5): Very good -
- Leigh (10/5): Romantic, cosy, idllyic and stunning. Such a unique place and the area itself is beautiful. The decor is to die for and - What a beautiful unique gem! the decor was outstanding. It was so romantic and cosy. A peaceful idyllic spot with beautiful views and only 7 mins from the nearest supermarket. The owners were so friendly and helpful and always there if we needed anything but also left us to relax and feel at home for the night. Thank you
10/10 highly recommended! Absolutely nothing at all!
- Oscar (9/5): Superb -
- Honorata (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janice (10/5): My stay was perfect,I had a fantastic time and a peaceful relax at Linden Retreat - The property was very cosy and comfortable, and all the little extra touches made it extra special,it was very homely and Paddy & Rachael went above and beyond nothing was too much There was nothing I didn’t like it was excellent
- B (10/5): Excellent cosy lodgings for those who are looking to explore the Cotswolds and the wider areas. - The property was stunning, arrived a little late in the evening due to traffic on the way up which wasn't an issue at all! The hosts were fantastic, super friendly, and provided a lot of local recommended places. The home itself was super cosy, with everything you could possibly ask for in a short stay. Jacuzzi bath was an added bonus, especially after coming in from the colder nights. Nothing, everything was superb. Only having to leave was the downside!
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Rachel was so friendly and helpful, it was like staying with friends Nothing really
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing little touches, beautifully presented and extremely comfortable. Such a little gem!
- Steph (9/5): Superb - The hosts were helpful, the bed was very comfortable and the jacuzzi bath was a bonus! The hosts had also left some butter, milk and things which was very thoughtful. A great retreat for a weekend.
- Joly (10/5): Perfect stay - Everything - beautiful views, welcoming and helpful hosts, beautifully decorated apartment with everything you need & host on site to help. Comfy bed, good shower/bath. Will be back! Thank you. The only thing is the GPS send you to one street down - the host came to find me and helped me to park the car.
- Richard (10/5): Comfortable, cosy, considerate and complete. - Good space for a couple, beautifully presented. Hosts were very welcoming. All facilities had been considered, including a 'start up' pack of tea, milk, sugar etc (and a G&T and a beer!). It was a delight to stay there. We will certainly book again. Access was a little tight - up a steep hill - and, while there was excellent private parking right outside, one needs to have a car with a reasonable turning circle.
