Guest Reviews
- Janet (9/5): Definitely would recommend - Very clean and modern fitments in the grounds of Rokeby Hall. Excellent showers and efficient heating
Parking was easy right outside
Extremely quiet location - no traffic or anything to disturb the peace
Great location for visiting Bru Na
Boinne, some local beaches and Drogheda. Only an hour from Dublin and Trim Castle Beds not as comfortable as we would like - I could feel the springs
Kitchen equipment is limited - needs a sieve, potato masher, potato peeler, more cutlery and at least 2 more wine glasses
WIFI was excellent when it was on but it kept dropping out

- Claire (8/5): Comfortable country vibes - Plenty of space inside and out Few cobwebs and spots needed to be cleaned
- Houghton (8/5): Really enjoyed it, stunning surroundings and beautiful place - Very clean and modern Just lacked a few bits like mirror in the bedroom etc
- Corrina (8/5): If it was properly cleaned it’s a nice place - Nice location , the guy that runs it was lovely, bed was comfy and very spacious The kitchen was very dirty, benches and dishes were all dirty even this they were in cupboard , dishwasher was very dirty and badly rusted with rusty kitchen utensils still inside , washing machine smelt so bad you wouldn’t use it
- Leanne (10/5): A fabulous rural retreat with tonnes of character and style - Very well appointed. New renovation. Spotlessly clean and in a beautiful location. The hosts were friendly and I felt the communication was great.
- Mackenzie (10/5): Would go again. - Clean and presentable
Near to family
- Carmel (9/5): - The location was prefect, the house was comfortable and clean. The area was quite.
- Dasa (10/5): very nice - Beautiful stone cottage in a stunning setting. It was cozy, clean and warm, and we felt very comfortable there. Only the big spider on the stairs gave me quite a fright – maybe he was the guard spider keeping order in the house. A few more cutlery and cups would be great, so we wouldn’t have to wash a spoon after every single use and a little dishwasher would be perfect – a holiday helper in the kitchen .But these are just minor details that are easily outweighed by the quality of the accommodation
- JoKing76 (9/5): Great, quirky place. - Fab, quirky little cottage, all facilities we needed for a week visiting family. There were quite a few big cobwebs in the upper ceilings in the bedrooms. The lounge/dinning area has the entryway, which is double glazed doors. But there is no curtain or anything over the door, so moving from bedroom, to bathroom etc you are totally on show to anyone walking by. It is very quiet, but backing on to the stables, there was the odd time people were walking past. Inside the shower couldve done with a proper shelf to out shampoo etc in. And the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable, this is a personal preference which you'll never get right for all visitors.
- Gerard (10/5): - Very clean, comfortable and modern, great spot

- Smits (10/5): Amazing property! So impressed, highly recommend. - Amazing property! So impressed, very clean and exactly like description. Thank you for having us Nothing
- Adrian (10/5): Looking forward to returning again - An extremely peaceful setting not too far from bars, restaurants, beaches and such, but still remote enough for that peace and tranquility we sometimes desire. The Valley Inn just down the road has the friendliest proprietor, staff, patrons and the food is just wow.. best steak I’ve ever had and I’m a fussy foodie…. No live tv channels was a minor inconvenience but the smart tv with Netflix etc as an alternative was plenty good enough.

- Kathleen (10/5): Second time staying at rokeby cottage and have already booked for next year - This is our second time this year staying at Rokeby cottage and we have already booked for next year, the cottage is perfection at its finest, the grounds are private and quiet ,we are musician's that had gigs on the Friday night in drogheda which is only 18 mins from the cottage and on the Saturday night we had a gig in wexford which was only 1hr and 55mins on the motorway , the cottage is ideal with safe parking and a place to relax in luxury, with the peaceful surroundings the guys even got inspiration for a new song for our upcoming album next year , we didn't want to leave

- Josephine (9/5): Superb - The environment and the quietness No public transport but the taxi drivers were very helpful and friendly
- Amba (8/5): Nice place to stay - Horses outside on the other side of courtyard.
Soft pillows. Nice showers. Good towels.
Good location. Quiet and peaceful. Some welcome items like tea and snacks can be helpful. Shower gel/shampoo would be good. More info about how to use hot water and other appliances would help.
- Cynthia (9/5): Rustic Irish Country Charm - I absolutely adored our stay here. The grounds were like stepping back into the early 1800s. The views of the expansive fields framed the majestic horses…if you have a love of immersing yourself back in time, this place will make you smile! Like all old things, it is quirky. It is still a working farm and it’s trying to expand into the guest lodging world.
The 2 bedroom suites are spacious and well appointed. The 2 bedrooms are separated perfectly by the kitchen, living room area, giving guests a little separation.
The guest accommodations is a new venture, so don’t expect perfection but for the quality of the space and the magnificence of the property, it is 100% worth every penny and I would recommend to all my friends. Think rustic working farm with very nice self-service accommodation.
Be sure to take a tour of Rokeby House next door, the grounds, gardens, and the host is happy to share the history of the property.
- Maggie (8/5): Fab scenic remote location - Fab renovated cottage in remote location Bedroom upstairs had a rafter extending out over the stairs hit head off on the way down the stairs

We would highly recommend this place and was pet friendly which was a great facility to have and that's one of the main reasons we booked. Everything was spotless and we had everything we needed for our break.

- Cathy (8/5): We had the most enjoyable time! While we were late arriving the place was warm and cosy! There was plenty of space for e - We actually liked that it was quite isolated, it was so peaceful and we felt so safe with our girls been able to enjoy the outside area For our family the 2 rooms were at opposite ends of the cottage which didn’t suit our sleeping arrangements with children and so that is really nitpicking!!
- Tom (9/5): Superb -
- June (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - What an amazing place to stay. My kids and I had an amazing time, was so peaceful and relaxing the hist were great. Would definitely book again. Tv struggled to connect but internet was fine so used alternative.

- Kathleen (10/5): Amazing cottage - We loved rokeby cottage ,if we were to score it out off 100 we would give it 200, it was private ,peaceful and very safe , we are musicians, we had two shows we were performing at this weekend ,one in Dublin and one in drogheda, we travel with alot off equipment ,so we needed secure parking and a peaceful environment before and after the shows, this was heaven to us ,we were so relaxed and refreshed for our shows , we travelled from Donegal and Dublin is only an hour from the cottage and gerry very kindly let us check in at 2pm on Friday ,which gave us time to relax and get to our first show in Dublin in plenty off time ,our second show was in drogheda on the Saturday which is 20 mins from the cottage, we had such a wonderful time at rokeby ,the fresh air ,animals and the knowledge that we could park our vehicles with our equipment in a safe environment made our weekend one off the best we have had ,we are back home refreshed and very happy vikings
We had everything we needed in the cottage
There was fresh milk in the fridge and plenty off tea and coffee , the cottage was warm and the beds were so comfortable ,
Thank you Rokey cottage

- Sean (4/5): Short stay in Louth - Nicely laid out cottage. No hot water.
TV kept losing internet connection.

Door to upstairs bedroom would not close fully.
- Szilvia (9/5): Superb -
- Bernadette (9/5): Cosy and comfortable - somewhere different. - Lovely rural location yet within easy driving distance of all local attractions eg Bru na Boinne, Hill of Tara, Trim Castle, Battle of the Boyne visitor centre etc. Clean, comfortable, beautifully appointed. Quiet setting meant a great night's sleep. Dog loved it! Maybe a dishwasher if anyone wanted to cook meals. As we were only there a short time it was fine without one.
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
