- Wynsome (10/5): Cosy quiet and scenic. - We liked the location down a quiet lane wth the sea & old tin mines at the end. Compact but well equipped. All good.
- Debbie (10/5): We had a lovely stay and would happily stay again. - Clean, warm, comfortable with everything provided for. Welcome pack for the dog a lovely touch, and the settee throw ideal. Splendid view.
- Juliet (10/5): Thank you- I had a wonderful one night stay in your cottage- homemade cakes, cozy bed, milk for tea - all welcome after - It was a welcome relieve from the oath, clean, homemade cakes, cozy bed and wonderful views Nothing
- Maria Anna (9/5): - Nette, hilfsbereite Gastgeber,
schöne Lage, Meerblick, Sonnenuntergang
- Jevon (10/5): - Lovely little location with some great views also owners were very helpful.
Would definitely stay again Everything was perfect. I had a great weekend away with my wife and dogs
- Lisa (10/5): Fantastic views - Really nice, cosy and comfortable place. The views are exceptional! So relaxing and refreshing. Great stop while walking the path. Wish we stayed longer
- laura (8/5): Nice 1 night stay during a coastal path hike, would stay again - Very close to the coast path
- Lee (9/5): Perfect little bolt hole! - Everything you needed for a stay! Very well maintained. Short walk to a great authentic Cornish pub. It was a little cold (end of March), but blankets were on hand to make us snug.
- helen (10/5): - Proximity to coast path/dog friendly clean warm and cosy well equipped extra touches like christmas decor, fruit, milk and dog treats Nothing
- anne (10/5): Fantastic scenery. Great location. Fabulous hosts all ready re booked for next year - Cosy and welcoming- owners had gone to a lot of trouble to ensure it was Christmassy and had everything we needed. Nothing
- PHILIP (10/5): Fantastic location and very cozy - Excellent location. Lovely and cozy
- Marian (8/5): Lovely sea views, comfortable & clean - Good location with lovely sea views.
Geevor Tin Mine close by
Comfortable & clean
Well equipped
Good space for two Husband not keen on bedding, prefers cotton, fake sheepskin was bit hot.
- Lauren (10/5): We will definitely be returning! - Lovely and cosy in a wonderful setting. Nothing!
- Andrew (9/5): The perfect place with sea view for a couple - The location was perfect with sea views. There were treats such as buns and chocolate and a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge when we arrived. The owner greeted us once we had unloaded baggage and explained about the indoor lighting to be kept on to illuminate a step towards the bathroom during night time. It was warm and the bedding was an interesting woollie style, which kept you warm during the night. The power shower was excellent. The far corner of the living room close the sofa would benefit a standard lamp other than the multi coloured Eifel tower lamp by the door. The tap in the bathroom would be better if it was less stiff to turn on and off.

- chris (9/5): Great place nice touch home made cakes waiting for us when we entered. - Lovely place, really well decorated in a quirky style.. we were walk8ng the South Coastal Path and the location was ideal for that. The only issue we had was as we were walking didn't have any provisions so had to walk to the nearest pub which was a 20 min walk but the pub served great food.

- Naomi (9/5): A little hidden gem - As we arrived, we were greeted by one of the owners who let us in. We were also given the code to the keysafe before arrival. Distant Lights is a little hidden gem which is charmingly decorated with each space efficiently and effectively utilised. Very clean and neat, too. We had welcome-muffins, and welcome-treats for our dogs, too. The kitchen and bathroom were well-equipped. We had everything we needed (and beyond). The dishwasher was a pleasant surprise. The bed was very comfortable. Distant Lights is conveniently located; beautiful coastal paths just down the lane, and Penzance, Land's End, Porthcurno Cove, Mousehole, etc. are all within easy reach by car. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break. Much recommended. I thought it was a little shame about the garden. I could see that it was once an enchanting garden but now abandoned. As I am a keen gardener myself, if it were my garden, I would love to bring it back to life. Still, I loved the gypsy wagon!
- Julie (9/5): Lovely base to spend time exploring the area - The very quiet location was superb as was the view. The place has everything imaginable including a sewing repair kit. Walking distance to the old tin mining area and the coast Parking was awkward but roads are very narrow
- Erika (8/5): Tolle Preis Leistung und Mega Lage - Die Lage war perfekt am SWCP
Sehr freundliche Kommunikation
- Lodewijk (10/5): It was a slice of quiet heaven with a view and great access to the coastal walk - Location, warmth and cleanliness and of course the view! Nothing at all.
- Christine (10/5): - Lovely location.
Very well appointed cottage.
Everything well thought of.
Wonderful welcome.
Muffins delicious. Towels too thin.
- Mandy (10/5): - Very comfortable accommodation with lovely individual touches. Everything you need and excellent use of the space available. Great view of the sea and short walk to the coast path. Nothing

Alles gut
- Emma (10/5): - Third visit to Distant Lights, (we would have been back sooner but it's so popular!), and it is as lovely as we remember it.
It's a well equipped and comfortable living space with easy access to the coastal path and stunning scenery... What more could you want?! A pub in easy walking distance that also serves food? No problem! The Trewellard Arms is a 10 minute, easy walk away and we had a great time there too ☺️
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - Location location location, what a magnificent view!
- Spencer (9/5): A short one night stay but a lovely place that you could happily spend a week in. - It was a lovely, well-equipped apartment with sea views and plenty of comfortable furniture plus milk, tea, coffee and cakes on arrival. Nothing. It exceeded our expectations.
- Hazel (10/5): Fab place to stay both for accommodation and location - Location was stunning and the property was very well equipped and well thought out. Outside space was perfect for us as a couple and overlooking the sea. With great weather we were lucky to see a beautiful sunset. A few minutes walk from the coastal path. Couldn’t have asked for better.
- Nicholas (9/5): Sweet, secluded little apartment. Very remote! - Very sweet host. Amazing views, very private and a great stay for anyone coming from the coast path. -
- Anita (8/5): Excellent relaxing evening after walking coast path - Quiet location, not far from coast path. Clean and brilliant facilities in the cottage.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - This accommodation is absolutely perfect, comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen, great views, quiet location, 5*. Nothing to dislike about this accommodation
- Theresa (10/5): Hideaway Treasure. - We liked everything about Distant Lights. The location was perfect & the accommodation was done to a very high standard. It was spotlessly clean & there was everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again. That we weren't there for longer.
- Angela (9/5): Little gem ! - Cosy place , off the beaten track..little piglets running around in the field next to the property..with views out to sea.
Nicely furnished, with everything you're likely to need . Comfortable sofa and bed . Ideal for self catering and exploring the area Nothing really! Would have appreciated an egg cup .
- Josielw (9/5): Comfortable getaway location - Lovely clean space with plenty of room for 2. Great personal touches added. Comfortable bed. Did have trouble finding the property (looking for a red door that was obscured by a curtain) and had to phone for more guidance.
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional - The peace and quiet and the property was of a very high standard Nothing at all
- Azhad (10/5): Dream home - The house was very clean and tidy, beautifully maintained. Spectacular view from the living room. Nothing.
- Camilla (9/5): Remote location, with breath-taking views of the sea. The property had all amenities for a longer stay, and the host was - The property overlooked the sea, with beautiful views of the coast and countryside. Although we never met the host in person, she was very kind and had welcome treats as well as trail guides/ what to do lists/ recommendations waiting for us in the room.
- John (9/5): Superb - Well appointed kitchen, comfortable living space. Within easy walkimg distance of local historic sites. Small parking area was along a narrow (single lane) road
- Nigel (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice apartment in interesting and good location. Ideal for getting around western cornwall
- Viktorija (10/5): Great stay. - Great location. You could see the ocean from your window. Everything done in great standard. We only stayed for one night but it was lovely to find muffins and fresh milk waiting for us. It was a great stay and we will be back. Have nothing to say.
- Paul (10/5): Excellent, fantastic location. Equiped to a high standard. -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Absolute gem and very good value. Highly recommended - Tea, milk and cake on arrival. Sooooo welcome after long walk. Very comfortable, amazing views, well appointed, good shower. Fantastic breakfast. All , so, so good! Leaving!
- Nancy (10/5): Rxceeded our expectations. - Soon after we arrived we were greeted by our host who made sure we had what we needed. The host facilitated the luggage transfer service we use, which helped us a lot. The apartment is perfect for two and the view of the cows in front and the gorgeous sunset over the water was delightful. There was no cold beer in the fridge after a long day on the SWCP. Just kidding. 😁
- Lindsey (10/5): A perfect spot for a long or short stay to explore Cornwall's 'Poldark' peninsular - The location is idyllic, great view overlooking green pasture and the sea beyond; where we saw the distant spectacular lights of the setting sun, and the distant lights of fishing boats at night; not overlooked at all. Quiet location at the end of a lane with the coastal footpath easily accessible for a scenic walk south to Cape Cornwall featuring the historic remains of tin mines. The Trewellard Arms is a 10 minute walk up the lane for good food and drink, including a good selection of local real-ales and ciders, with a helpful down hill return journey! We loved the design and fixtures of the accommodation, with comfy chairs, sofas and atmospheric lighting. The kitchen is very well equipped, in addition tea, coffee and sugar is provided; and very welcome complimentary milk in the fridge on our arrival. The bathroom/shower facilities were excellent; the heating was set so that all the rooms felt warm and cosy. We felt very relaxed and self-contained, and had the reassurance that Helen and Chris were nearby if we needed anything. We would thoroughly recommend 'Distant Lights'. We could find nothing that needed improvement.
- Soumyadeep (10/5): Natural Disconnect at Distant Lights - The ambience and proximity to sea and coastal walking paths, the disconnect that you need from your otherwise busy life. Be at one with nature. Inadequate soaps and shampoo, not that it is necessary but has become an expectation from other places of stay.
- David (10/5): I would be back! - Cozy place next to the sea. Perfect if you are hiking through the Coastal Path
- Malcolm (9/5): A Great self catering property location, Classic Cornish post industrial coastal landscapes. - host provided clear instructions and just left me to enjoy, A welcome pack was there on arrival with all contact numbers.
The little garden area looking over the field with the baby calf's was unexpected and a real surprise
inside the property the facilities are all modern. Shower / bathroom nice amount of hot water. Living/kitchen are open plan and a great space for relaxing.
I just loved the post industrial sea landscapes and interesting walks The only thing, a suggestion really would be a light at the front entrance
- Paul (10/5): We returned for our second New Years stay and everything was just perfect. - Perfect location for being isolated. Helen makes every effort to ensure your stay is a memorable one.
- Grant (9/5): Superb -
- Sjm1234 (10/5): Perfect - Great host, lovely little touches, including personalised treats for dogs, muffins for us and fresh milk, coffee etc. Also perfect location. Nothing
- Barry (10/5): just what we needed. thank you -
- Jason (8/5): Lovely place, great location and very clean. -
- Julia (10/5): Our two Golden Retrievers where made very welcome by the owners and there was some lovely home made dog treats left for - Dog friendly and in close proximity to Levant Mines. Nothing
- Tony (9/5): Perfect place to chill - Location was amazing and it was a nice comfortable cottage Perfect location
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional - Walking the SWCP and close to the path. The bathroom doubled up as a wet room which was so helpful as we arrived wet. Pub just up the lane and the accommodation had everything we needed. Would have loved to stay longer.
- Judith (9/5): Well equipped holiday base - Extremely well equipped and comfortable. A possible slight improvement would be to make the patio area a little clearer/ bigger.
- Wendy (10/5): We only stayed for one night but would love to have stayed longer. - Excellent location with amazing sea view. Very quirky homely property. Had everything we needed for our stay. I would highly recommend this property.
- Spencer (7/5): Very peaceful - The accommodation was very well thought out and had everything you could possibly need. The hosts were very thoughtful and helpful. It's a very peaceful area so restful. The bed was very hard and the settee was comfortable for me unfortunately. I do have fibromyalgia and so that's why it was difficult for me.
- William (9/5): Superb - It was compact and delightful and amazing position and a great deal of thought gone into the decor etc. There was nothing not to like
- Valeria (1/5): This property is not suitable for overnight stays due to chaotic strobe lights and the messy garden around the house. Ad - Sea view and nature are great in Cornwall During our stay, we asked the owner if we could extend our checkout by one hour, but she insisted that the checkout time was 11AM am, as stated in the policy. When we left some breakfast dishes on the kitchen table, the owner angrily shouted at us while we were already in our car, which was extremely inappropriate. She changed the checkout policy to 10AM just after our checkout . Her partner also entered the property without any prior notice, making us feel uncomfortable. The stroboscope lights at night and the hanging vine bottles in the trees were very distracting and made it hard to relax. The overall messy garden, and the owner's behavior left us with an unpleasant experience, and we have requested a refund. I would not recommend staying here.
- Daniela (9/5): Superb - The size of the small flat was nice to have. In addition the washing machine and hanging system in the bathroom was very helpful. The indications to reach the place were vague and misleading.
- Kate (10/5): Super short break - This was a beautiful location & everything that we needed The outdoor flashing lights- lovely effect in the evening but not after midnight
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional - The location was lovely and the sea view was an added bonus No complaints at all
- Dennis (8/5): Very good - N?A Too few opening windows. No USB ports Could do with more shelving in bathroom
- Roberto (8/5): Perfect place to stay walking the south west coast path - Clean and complete with everythings. Not easy to find, the name of the location is only written on the coloured stones near the entrance
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - The spectacular view to the sea
- Marta (10/5): Full immersion in nature. Wonderful Location and House - Welcome cake and wine, excellent kitchen equipment. Very responsive host
- Robertine (9/5): Superb - A cute and cosy little cottage in a remote location but an easy walking distance from both the SW Coastal Path and the couple of pubs in Trewellard. Muffins upon arrival were a lovely touch. Great place, would highly recommend.
- Anita (9/5): Superb -
- Angela (9/5): Superb - Lovely apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great view looking out over the fields to the sea.
Even though we were staying for one night there was milk in the fridge, tea and coffee and chocolate muffins.
It’s a nice 15 minute walk to the nearest pub - friendly staff.
Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (9/5): Superb -
- Joshua (9/5): An amazing location and brilliant host! - It was immaculate presented and extremely comfortable. The host were very thoughtful, providing milk and delicious cakes! The only negative point is the lack of blinds on the door adjacent to the sofa.
- Paul (10/5): One of the nicest places we've stayed - A beautiful space in a beautiful place. What a great find.
- Sebastian (10/5): We enjoyed the scenic views, the tranquillity, the remoteness, and the nearby coastal path. - Remote location, style of the place and its layout. N/A
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional - Distant Lights is a beautiful, roomy and comfortable apartment right off the South West Coast Path, which was great for us as walkers. Pendeen also has a lovely old historic pub just 1/2 mile from Distant Lights called Trewellard Arms, which shouldn't be missed. Our hosts were very kind and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay. We liked everything.
- Sandra (10/5): Such a beautiful Position and comfortable property - Nothing to dislike. Everything had been put in place for our comfort. Can’t wait to return again. Nothing
- Michel (10/5): GREAT GREAT GREAT little cottage - GREAT GREAT GREAT little cottage !!!
Everything was perfect : the size of the cottage, the large bedroom, all the appliances you could want (oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster etc. etc).
A great garden with a great view on the field and the sea beyond
Very nice and friendly host, available for all our questions Nothing. Sorry we did not stay longer
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (9/5): Superb - It was very clean and comfortable. Helen picked us up from the top of the road after we'd had a hard day walking. We really appreciated the muffins that were waiting for us. It was also close to the SWCPath for us the next morning
- Simon (10/5): An absolute gem! - Fantastic self contained property with everything you wish for and more in a great location. Attention to detail superb, all home comforts provided right down to binoculars and umbrella. Thanks Chris for a perfect overnight stay. Nothing not to like
- Janet (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (9/5): Great little cottage that doesn't get any better for location with an amazing outfitted kitchen. - Excellent location. Easy to find with good instructions. Wonderful access to tin mine ruins and sea walks. Excellent pub right nearby for dinner. The kitchen was miraculously well equipped and having a washer and a laundry tab that brought a huge smile after weeks of travel. Welcome cakes and milk was wonderful. We did find a coffee press in the cupboard. The shrub in front of the window obstructed the sea view from inside significantly. We love shrubs but a smaller one that doesn't obstruct the view would be better. We would have loved a top sheet or a second full bed sized light blanket.
- Charles (10/5): We will be coming back on our next visit from Australia - Beautiful outlook, the property was warm and great facilities and I loved the champagne dreams sign. Thank you for the muffins too - that was a lovely thought.
- Leah (9/5): Superb - Location, lots of care put into the property, great sofa, very lovely stay The bed was a bit small for two and cotton bedding would have been good.
- Virginia (10/5): Exceptional -
