- Robert (8/5): We had a lovely stay and the cottage is idilic, but fee the price for what you get is a bit high - Beautiful location, lovely host. Very comfortable beds and beautiful bathroom. Lovely property but thought for the price it was missing some basics.
There were no tea towels and lots of the carpet grips on the stairs were loose. There were 3 of us staying but only 2 yoghurts in the fridge along with a glass bottle of milk with no lid and the cereals were large bags of muesli which had already been opened so unfortunately we didn’t touch any of these.
We found the cottage very comfortable but we had to wash the pans before we could use them as they were full of cobwebs. Am not sure if the kitchen cupboards had been damp at some point as they smelt very fusty.
- Janet (9/5): Hosts communiction was brilliant and helpful. Stable Cottage is a real gem of a find and we would definitely book again. - Comfortable, clean, spacious and really nicely furnished. Beds very comfortable. Lovely outside space and plenty of garden for a dog to explore. Cottage well equipped with everything you need and breakfast provision was super with a great choice of cereals, jams & spreads, yogurt, tea and coffee etc. Nothing not to like this was a great find.
- Richard (1/5): -
- Sarahcan (10/5): Charming cottage with all modern comforts - We were met at the end of the drive and welcomed into the house. It's a beautiful location and very peaceful. The house has been modernised to a high standard although it still retains all the charm and comfort. We were especially grateful for the wide selection of breakfast provisions for the morning. A lot of care and attention has been given to make this a really fantastic place. Thank you!
- amy (10/5): Comfortable, relaxing and beautiful location - The beds were super comfortable. Hosts were super kind and friendly. Breakfast offer was generous. Will definitely go back. Nothing
- Chris (9/5): A great place for a short break in Somerset - Spacious and beautifully decorated. Plenty of amenities. NA
- Lynley (9/5): Very convenient. Would have liked to stay longer. - Well presented. Very comfortable bed. Handy location to where we we’re meeting up with family Nothing
- Victoria (8/5): - A really lovely cottage, photos don't do it justice and larger than I thought it would be. Some garden available to take your dogs out to. Normal size fridge/ freezer and some basics and something for breakfast to get you started. Would recommend and happily stay there again. Thank you!
- Chloe (9/5): Beautiful cottage in a picturesque part of Somerset with a lovely breakfast and plenty of board games! We have family cl - Beautiful cottage, wonderfully decorated and breakfast for the first morning which was hugely appreciated, and meant we didn’t have to leave to get it with our two young children. It was lovely, just a few spiders which can’t be helped at this time of the year!!
- Carolyn (10/5): - A warm welcome from the owner. Extremely comfortable stay with an amazing amount of choice for breakfast. Everything high quality, Dusk bedding is wonderful (I have this to).
Lovely outdoor space.
Great communication.
A relaxing place in a quiet village. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Can't fault this place.
- Christine (10/5): - Such a lovely location. So peaceful and lots of lovely wildlife right outside the door.
It was nice to have a little supply of bits like milk and eggs in case we'd forgotten anything too. Really thoughtful. Loved staying here. Would definitely stay again.
- Maxine (9/5): We loved our stay felt welcome our gusts valued our privacy but was very responsiveuf asking a question. We will definit - Beautiful , very modern beautifully decorated very clean and comfy . Beds were amazing really comfy and quality of bedding was fab . Lots of ground to be outside and my dogs loved that they could run free . Nothing everything was good .
- M (8/5): Very good - Well presented in a lovely location
- Lesley (9/5): Satisfactory in all aspects very good on some - Comfortable. Pleasant surroundings Shower and bath
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable & clean
- Rodriguez (7/5): Good -
- Fernanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matt (8/5): Very good -
- Gordon (9/5): Superb - Lovely house with a very large garden
- Charlotte (7/5): Good - V accommodating for last minute booking. Beds very comfy and ample parking space. Lovely electric fire to keep warm and was nice to hear the birds chirping in the morning and late evening. Kitchen cupboard where utensils and cooking equipment where kept and fridge were not v clean. We ended up getting a takeaway so wasnt detrimental to our stay.
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - Just a beautiful spot and cottage. Two Dachshunds enjoyed lots of land to sniff, and the two humans really appreciated the cosiness and comfort. Huge thanks 😊
- Sam (7/5): Good - Lovely location by the stream. This is a big property, with lots of room. Check in , no tour of property. The oven is to close to the wall and the doors don’t open fully.
- Deanna (4/5): NO HOT TUB! Breakfast not worth paying! - We did have the cottage to ourselves and the beds were comfortable and the room is very spacious We booked this accommodation for the hot tub so Friday evening we spent the time doing nothing after driving 4 hours we were not happy.
We then had to go spend the day out Saturday as again there was nothing to do and had to wait for the hot tub which seemed as an inconvenience for the owners.
We booked for a hot tub as it states in booking.com after arriving we found out there was no hot tub in the (winter months) after expressing it was still on the site and we paid for it they set it up Saturday but we couldn’t go in until after 6:20pm.
Once we got the hot tub I got a message form the owner stating I needed to let them know when we were finished so they could turn the lights off and the hot tub itself. We felt we had to get out at 9pm and sadly couldn’t use Sunday morning as it ment messaging the owner again asking permission to use it before our departure.
Breakfast - we were not told anything about breakfast so on our arrival we found Cheap small boxes of cereal. Some eggs & toast spread yes - Milk in the fridge but the bread was was out date. Bannans black. Yogurt not dated. No way to cook the eggs. Ended up going out and paying yet again for breakfast.
Bed - It was very comfortable But when we went to get into it Friday there were some hairs in the bed after being exhausted and frustrated we just gave up.
Hot water - is on a timer and can’t be changed! So imagine having someone with sever exzchma who sometimes has a bath around 10:30 to find the water was stone cold!! Not happy. Woke up and we left this property at 10am to find actual breakfast and to drive 4 hours home.
- Carrie (9/5): Superb - The cottage was great and had everything we needed for one night. The location was good for us as we were attending a family party close by. The breakfast could have been better with the addition of some white bread (we had a child with us). The signage on approach could be better we missed the turn and had to come back
- Collett (9/5): Superb -
- Mandy (10/5): Exceptional - We liked the property,it is maintained to a high standard, liked size of beds, and shower was very good.
The breakfast was also good and plenty there.
The owner was very helpful and would stay there again.
- Sheila (10/5): A clean, comfortable, well-equipped home, with a helpful host. We would gladly use it again. - This is an entirely private property behind the owner's, and overlooking their field, where, with permission, we were able to exercise the dog. There is adequate parking, and the property is spotlessly clean with good facilities and very comfortable beds. DIY breakfast is provided with a choice of cereals plus the option to cook. The electric (mock log burner) fire made the sitting room very cosy on a cold winter's evening. This was a one-night stay, and the property was well-located for our visit, especially as there were two pubs in walking distance, one of which served us lovely meal with a warm welcome. In the kitchen a washing-up sponge, and J cloth would have been useful. Other than that, I missed the bedside clock-radio I am used to, but that's just me, and I recognise it is something not everyone would value.
- Carl (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet, calm and restful location. Exactly as advertised, very comfortable and warm. Ideal for two but plenty of room for two couples. Lovely breakfast provided. Pub within walking distance. Excellent communication! Thank you.
- Jamie (6/5): Pleasant - We loved the layout of the cottage, it felt really cosy and the beds were big and very comfortable. There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like, there were just a few things that needed attention.
The yoghurts and croissants for breakfast were out of date, the light at the top of the stairs didn’t work and there was a beeping noise in the main bedroom which kept us awake for a lot of the night.
- Ben (2/5): A shame - The property is very nice.
One item was very disappointing.
My colleagues room had very dirty stained bed sheets.
Due to this we wouldn't consider staying here again. Cleanliness of the bed sheets.
- Komor (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (10/5): What’s a lovely place. It’s cosy and welcoming. A real home from home. We had a super relaxing time. There are also some - Beautiful location, clean and well equipped. Everything was fine
- Jim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jean (9/5): Charming & spacious cottage - Quiet & beautiful location in Broadway village near the home of family we were visiting. Really enjoyed having two bedrooms, both quite large with comfortable beds, and the very well equipped kitchen, sitting room.
Didn't sit in the lovely garden because it was quite cool with occasional rain showers. Would definitely stay again. We would have liked to have had hand towels in the bathroom, or at least one additional towel. There were two bath towels, one for each of us.
- Christopher (9/5): Excellent overnight stay, en route to Cornwall. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. - Peaceful location in a delightful, quiet, rural village. Pub nearby (didn't use but reviews were good). Very private, well furnished with generous space for three or four people, for a short break or overnight stay. Didn't meet the hosts, but spoke briefly on the mobile when arriving at the property. Ample parking for two vehicles. Nothing.
(Perhaps for longer stays, a dishwasher might have been a bonus, but we didn't miss one).
- Lorraine (9/5): Superb -
- Melanie (10/5): Great spot in Somerset - Well equipped, comfortable cottage. The Super king bed was so comfortable with luxurious bed linen. Great facilities, lovely grounds although we lucked out with the weather so were unable to enjoy them fully. Short walk to the Bell Inn which is a lovely pub with great food and friendly landlady. Lovely local bacon and eggs provided for breakfast along with Bread, milk, Cereals, Fruit and yoghurt. Nothing. Look forward to a return visit with better weather so we can really enjoy the grounds and facilities in full!
- Sean (10/5): Fantastic accommodation , great location and overall really good value for a short break. - Check in arrangements were easy and well managed , facilities were excellent and information provided was all clear and very informative. Bedrooms , kitchen and living room all extremely well presented and whole property and grounds were excellent for the whole family.
- Lee (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic stay. Seperate cottage and Greg was a great host and very personable. You will not be disappointed
- Morries (10/5): Exceptional - Tennis and basketball ball/ football court was great fun. Huge garden, perfect for families. The beds are very comfortable. Under facilities on bookings.com, it says hot tub available. Buy when we we arrived and asked the owners, they said the hot tub was no longer available as the electric expenses were too high and that it was no longer showing on bookings.com but I checked and it is still showing under facilities.
- Jeremy (7/5): Comfortable and quiet cottage - Comfortable cottage in a very quiet rural area, with fox cubs playing in the garden and deer in the neighbouring field. Wonderful garden, which guests can use. The rooms were all a good size and well furnished, although the lounge is a bit dark. Well equiped kitchen, but no dishwasher or washing machine. Parking on the drive in front. The host provides all the items for a continental breakfast which you prepare yourself The cleaniness in the kitchen was not so good. There is no dish washer and I imagine the guests and indeed the cleaner struggle to get the pots, pans, crockery and cutlery clean. Hence the lower mark.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (7/5): Good - The bed was lovely and comfortable, beautiful setting and a really nice pub with lovely food just down the road. Although there were a few hiccups, the hosts sorted it out very quickly for us. It was great having the tennis and basketball court too. When we arrived there were no towels, no provisions for the breakfast, a leak on the bathroom floor, the toilet seat was a bit wonky and there was cleaning fluid dripped on the outside of the toilet bowl. While we were there the handle on the bathroom door came apart but all those issues were quickly sorted by the hosts, and we realized they had had a bit of a family issue to deal with which had probably affected getting the cottage ready for us.
- Nicholas (9/5): Lovely evening. - Great garden and very comfortable for our overnight stay. Very good communication with the owner on arrival instructions.
- Kay (10/5): Excellent stay - Lovely accommodation with everything you need, which is in a quiet location.
- Stuart (9/5): Superb - Fantastic cottage in a very peaceful location.
- Emma (7/5): Fun weekend, shame about the hot tub, would of made our weekend - Lovely place, near a local pub, pretty village, pretty place Really disappointed we didn’t get to use the hot tub, (only reason I booked this place, apparently we were to late getting back from the pub after the England match went to penalties 🤷♀️
Would of liked to have used the fire pit too, looked lovely
- Gemma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jemma (10/5): Perfect stay for some R and R - Plenty of breakfast choice and Greg and Anna were impeccable hosts. I would stay with them again, without a doubt.
- Stephen (10/5): Excellent and very helpful hosts and a very pleasant overnight stay indeed! - Extremely well appointed and very clean. Attractive gardens. It was a tiny bit disappointing that the WC was across the corridor from the otherwise well equipped bed and bathroom suite, but this was only a slight inconvenience.
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julian (9/5): very pleasant comfortable stay - very comfortable lovely setting plenty of space good facilities
- Catherine (10/5): We can't wait to visit again. - We received a warm welcome, tour of the facilities and offer of tea or coffee. Parking was easy.
Our room was large and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. Ensuite gorgeous, with bath and large shower and heated towel rail, two basins.
Excellent breakfast, full range of options, served in beautiful large conservatory with view over landscaped garden.
Good quality food, cooked to order.
We enjoyed the hot tub. A difficult question as the place is so lovely.
Would have liked to have a kettle perhaps in our room to make a cup of tea. Nespresso machine was available.
- Hannah (10/5): Beautiful site with fantastic hosts - Greg was a fantastic host, he really went above and beyond with so many nice gestures, bringing drinks/snacks, lending us e-bikes, recommending local pubs etc
The site is lovely, the best combination of luxury and cosiness, we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend away
- Stevie (10/5): A real beautiful stay - highly, highly recommended. - The property had true character with a modern French twist. Exceptional facilities with literally everything included. Welcome drinks on arrival and the breakfast was superb! Nothing
- Casper-jan (10/5): Exceptional - Due to unexpected road works, I arrived a alot later than the official check in time and this was no problem. I believe all in al, the host is very flexible and more than prepaired to fulfil any request. In that case it would be hard to have any complaints really, anything what would have been a problem will be resolved right away. As they say, the accomodation is only as good as their hosts.
The garden and building looked very well maintained and it being situated right next to a river, made it all quite idyllic. Seems to be perfect for like a wedding or any other excuse for a party really.
I was genuinly impressed with my room. Large bath, large comfy bed, large shower and decorated tastfully. For the price it was larger than I am used to. Since it was all renovated recently, everything was spotless. I believe this is perfect for those longer stays. There was also a beautifully decorated gentlemans room with chesterfield couches, artwork and antiques. I believe there is also a hot tub and an outside firepit, perfect to have some wine and a board with cheese for those late summer evenings. Since it was freezing -6 I didn't made use of that during my time, but the many burning fireplaces was a warm welcome in the cold winter month.
10/10 would book again.
- Carl (8/5): Very good - Lots of space with all the facilities, very comfortable bed and plenty food in the fridge. Good location for travelling around Somerset and close to Ilminster.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (10/5): Exceptional - We were up graded to a wonderful room, immaculately clean. Huge bathroom with powerful shower. Posh coffee maker. Oh and a lovely complimentary glass of prosecco! Quality finishes, felt very luxurious.
- E (10/5): Boudoir & Brunch and so much more - The communication was efficient and informative, the welcome was warm, the thought put into everything was amazing, the breakfast was delicious and the hosts were kind and helpful. We couldn't finish all of the fruit and eggs and pastries. I left my jacket behind and was called within a few minutes to tell me. I can't recommend this property enough, would definitely go back. Saying goodbye.
- Indi (10/5): What a lovely stay we had, my partner and I stayed for one night and wish we'd been able to book longer! We stayed i - Superb hospitality
Quiet, cosy location
- Damian (10/5): Exceptional - It has been a real pleasure to be there. Owners - amazing people, they really made us feel like welcomed.
- Maria (10/5): The best B&B we have ever stayed - Everything was perfect. The best B&B we have ever stayed! Greg and Anna were amazing! Outdoors hot tub, fireplaces, tennis courts, luxurious breakfast, dreamy rooms. A hidden diamond! We are definitely staying again!
- Dee (10/5): would have stayed longer if we could. - Wow! What a find. Could not get a more friendly, helpful and professional couple. The place itself is just amazing. I don’t normally bother to leave reviews but felt compelled to do so. nothing
- James (10/5): Exceptional B&B in lovely location - We enjoyed every minute in this well appointed B&B. The gardens are lovely, and our room on the ground floor was unique and very comfortable. It included a king size bed and a free standing bath tub and separate shower. There is a hot tub on the property and outdoor areas to relax. The owner prepares an amazing breakfast to order. This is one of the nicest places we have stayed during our travels.
- Florence (10/5): Wonderful hosts and lovely room and location - The decor and location was lovely. Hosts were great and really went above and beyond to make our trip extra special, all the little touches to the room and breakfast was really appreciated. It’s located next to a stream which was really peaceful and we had access directly to the room which was great. The bath was brilliant and bed was super comfy. We also got to use the hot tub in the morning after breakfast which made our trip that little bit extra special, thank you so much for having us! We’ll definitely be back again Nothing
