Guest Reviews
- Simon (9/5): Would thoroughly recommend staying here. - The cottage has loads of character, in a quiet location, perfect for a weekend getaway The entrance is very tight, for a car it would've been easier, but we had a VW camper van which doesn't have as good a turning circle as a car. A foot off the bushes either side would make all the difference, but in no way did this detract for the experience, the cottage and stay was lovely. The piano needs a tune, if like me, you want to play it. That was the only other minor comment
- Donna (10/5): -
- Benn-winter (9/5): - Well equipped Charming cottage. Narrow driveway difficult to get on and off.
- IJma (8/5): -
- Angela (8/5): Appreciated the communication and welcome pack😁 - Nice property, just a bit tired
- Fiona (8/5): Comfortable stay in the countryside in a lovely charming cottage - The size of the property for the price paid. Comfortably fit 5 adults. The surrounding scenery was lovely. Charming cottage vibe. Some treats provided which was lovely gesture. Facilities were a little bit tired / old. If shower running downstairs, no hot water upstairs. Limited amenities nearby.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional - Was an amazing place to stay. There was just a confusion on the time we had to leave. As we thought due to the booking details was midnight. But turned out to be 11am. Everything ok
- Federico (10/5): Perfect rustic countryside stay - Beautiful calm location in the countryside surrounded by horses. The cottage is perfectly authentic and cozy as you may imagine, and bigger than it looks in the photos. The host was extremely kind and communicative during the stay and the experience was great for both kids and adults Nothing to report
- Paul (8/5): Very good - The cottage was in a very peaceful setting a perfect chocolate box cottage. You need to create the parking entrance to the drive wider it's very tight to get a car in, I damaged the front of my car on the edge.
- Bradley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (3/5): Not great - Lovely looking cottage, ideal location. I contacted the owners the day before arrival as I hadn't received any correspondence from them at all. We arrived on Friday intending to have a prepared roast dinner. The oven wouldn't switch on, the grill worked, we checked online to make sure we weren't missing anything.... so no roast dinner. It was off to Sam's Chippy and we made do with that and put up with the unnecessary expense. The owners did contact us and said the oven works we had turned the dial the wrong way....... really!
Later, my wife decided to gave a bath, she was lucky to get one inch of hot water, in fact it never got much better & she tried every day. The owners when contacting us said, no one had complained before about there not being hot water. That wasn't our problem, there was hot water but not for the bath.
That first evening the pipes started banging and making a loud humming noise, especially in the living room, hallway & downstairs bedroom. From around 8pm to 10.30pm & again at 7.30am. Owners said we should have called them,.... we had no contact number to do this, in fact no information packet at all!
Washing up dishes, in a kitchen sink without a plug. Owners said could have used dishwasher.
As I can't do stairs, we slept downstairs. The radiator in that room remained cold, so that room remained very cold throughout our stay. No comment from owners
On the Saturday evening, a tuna salad.... no tin opener to open the tuna. No comment from owners
Knowing we were having steak on Sunday, we checked to see if there was a frying pan. There is, but unfit for purpose. We bought a new one, again another unnecessary expenditure. Comment from owners: have purchased a new one. ( No help to us though)
Again as I can't do stairs a mirror in the downstairs bathroom would have been nice. You can see there was one there at one time, l had to use my wife's small vanity mirror not ideal at all.
- Julie (6/5): Pleasant - Big house with lots of space. Heating and hot water were easy to use. Comfortable beds. Very old electric oven which tripped the electric every time we tried to use it so we were not able to cook a meal.
Felt kitchen as a whole and all utensils and crockery had been neglected and were not very clean.
Big parking space but it was very difficult to access the property with our van through a narrow gap and off of a narrow lane.
- Timothy (10/5): Great weekend...would stay here again - Location, room sizes, thatched cottage, fireplace...and Christmas tree was on when we arrived in the evening 🙂 No glasses in kitchen and only a couple of regular-sized mugs.
- Hareesh (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage. calm and beautiful location
