Guest Reviews
- Robert (9/5): Amazing views of the Ruins! - Amazing view of the ruins from Room 401! Big, comfortable room with 3 beds. TV was not working. Wifi went out briefly but was good for the 2 nights we were here. Wait a long time for hot water to be hot, but eventually, it came. Great breakfasts! 5 minute walk to the ruins. Nice refrigerator.
- Lizaveta (10/5): Excellent stay with breakfast and fine view - Cesar met us at Plaza de Armas, which was nice but unnecessary given the excellent location of the hotel. Our room was facing mountains and hence was quiet, tho the hotel is located at the main street so lots of transport coming at any time of the day.
Hot water was available at all times. Room heater that we asked and were given did sufficient job in keeping the room warm, but bathroom was cold.
Bed was comfortable and overall we enjoyed our stay very much. Breakfast had many options tho staff didn't rush to refill plates, bring additional dishes or clean tables after other guests.
- Bryanne (8/5): Very good - Location is awesome. The owner seemed friendly. The view from our room of the ruins was great. Breakfast was awesome!! The bathroom. There were no towels racks or shelves (other than the extremely small one directly above the sink that could hold only just a toothpaste and cup). It looked like there maybe had previously been some there, but they had been removed and never replaced.
- Hannah (9/5): Lovely place to stay with comfy beds - Lovely place to stay with great location, staff and clean rooms. Bigger beds too!
- Rose (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was beautiful
- Annie (8/5): Great location and view. Good service. - 1 - location was super convenient, very close to Ollantaytambo.
2 - the restaurant was super good, we had dinner both nights.
3 - the service was good; our host Cesar always replied whatsapp immediately. In fact, one of the reasons why we ended up staying here is because he responded to my query on booking.com swiftly.
4 - evenings were chilly in the region so we appreciated the heater in the room.
5 - the bathroom was very spacious.
6 - the mattress was soft and comfortable
7 - we had the view directly to Ollantaytambo, which was spectacular 1 - we had to wait a few minutes for the hot water so the showers took a long time.
2 - the internet in the room was not stable, but if you go to the first floor or to the restaurant, it became better.
3 - the floor was dirty and dusty
- Izabela (10/5): Great stay and location in Sacred Valley! - Refugio Andino has the best location in Ollantaytambo. It’s walking distance to the main square of the village and all the restaurants and shops there. We had a rooftop apartment which is spacious and had a beautiful view of the archeological site yet was quiet and provided for a good rest. Cesar was an excellent host and he accommodated all our requests. He even provided a breakfast to go when we left early morning for our trip to Machu Picchu. Thank you so much Cesar for your hospitality! Everything was great

- Lorraine (8/5): Good hotel, centrally located. Bonus for me was a kettle in the room to make a cuppa when I woke up at stupid o’clock - We had a great room with a fantastic view of the ruins. Breakfast was good with a variety of things to choose from. The staff were really helpful with luggage and friendly and smiley at breakfast. For the price and location there was nothing we didn’t like. Would be useful to have glasses and cups in the room to make use of the kettle. I didn’t ask for them though as I’m sure they would have supplied.
- Tao (9/5): Nice place to stay - Cesar, the host, is very responsive and helpful. He helped us arrange many shuttles and day trips around.
The room is spacious. Breakfast is a bit simple.
- Wilson (9/5): Superb -
- Ana (9/5): Really nice value for money, amazing location and restaurant - César was really helpful and kind, I stayed only for one night and he helped me find a transport to visit some ruins further outside city center.
Nice big room with confortable beds.
Good location, just 2 minutes walk from the main ruins in Ollantaytambo.
Good breakfast, although no eggs included.
The restaurant located in the same building is amazing, I had dinner and lunch there and highly recomend it. One of the best I went to in Peru. Transfer by car from the train station would be nice, since I had all my luggage with me and it's a 10/15min walk uphill in the middle of the road, with crazy traffic.
- Rhea (10/5): Exceptional - Restaurant was great, we ate all our meals in their restaurant.
- Elena (9/5): Superb -
- Megan (10/5): Great stay - Perfect place to stay before we started the Lares Trek. Basic room with everything you need and in the town centre. Lovely and very helpful hosts. Allowed us to leave our luggage while did our 3 day hike and pick it up on our return.
- Merry (10/5): Lovely - It was clean, inviting and comfortable Spacious
- James (8/5): Nice hotel, good value… but noisy.Ask for a back room and it will be better - It was a nice place for a quick stay for the night.
The restaurant was a huge surprise. Five stars, you need to eat there it is an experience you won’t forget It was very noisy, with taxis driving by to the train station all night long .we had a corner room by the street. Ask for a back room, much quieter and better view of mountains .
- Gabrielle (10/5): Staffing was absolutely a joy and super caring ! The view is out of this world ! Food is must at restaurant below - I booked the top floor & the view was unbelievable you could see the whole town and when I went to hike the Inca I literally could see my room BEST stop in the room it has a hot boiler and a fridge which I utilized the whole time I went to the market everyday ! Properly has an amazing chef that cooks with a huge passion and puts love into every meal ❤️ I also don’t eat pork and they fully accommodated and made replacements with no problem ! Highly recommend the restaurant attached there’s a beautiful balcony you can sit and be outside stargazing etc There was contraction going on during my stay , they seem to wrap up around 8-9ish and started around 8am ish . It wasn’t bad but if there are people day drinking etc I could see taking a nap would be a problem but other than that I was outside most days so never really bothered me.
- Chanelle (10/5): 10/10 ! - Everything! A lovely big room in the centre of the town, close to everything and only a 10 min walk to the train station. Staff were great, felt comfortable and safe staying here. Nice breakfast as well. Best place we’ve stayed so far in Peru! N/A
- Parul (10/5): Exceptional - Service and location was perfect No water in room. Every thing else was good
- Maria (9/5): Very nice quality-price accommodation - The view A little bit noisy but ok
- Renzo (9/5): Amazing - Best location walking distance to Ollantaytambo ruins, clean comfortable room and the next door restaurant is exceptional
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leomar (8/5): Very good - good location. 15 minutes walk from the train station and the square is just around the corner. the place is a bit run down. water faucet was broken.
- Marcus (10/5): Exceptional - Great location as close as you can get to the Ollantaytambo site, quality hotel (Sol Miranda) for the price, right in the heart of the town. Fantastic value for money. I saw some reviews talking about the heat - I went in winter and the beds were the warmest I've slept in in South America.
- River (8/5): Great affordable spot - Great spot to stay hot showers good pressure great attention to their guest would recommend
