- Jodie (1/5): Couldn’t even bring ourselves to stay the night - Nothing, but the location was fine. Not accessible if you don’t have a vehicle and can’t walk up/ down hills Staff were creepy, checking in system was weird, no cold running water, entire property smelt, room was in poor condition. Cheap mattress and thin sheets, there was a gap inbetween the wall and the window. It was clear that people were living in the hotel and the doors simply had a key to lock them, no other security or safety. Would have been very easy for the room to be broken into. We looked around the room and left and stayed in a different one, a horrible gut feeling
- Badji (10/5): - The staff member we were kind enough to upgrade my stay to a nicer room. You're rock this stay beautifully for me thank you! Also remarkably well located. N/A
- Kellie (1/5): - Nothing After being moved from this hotel as it stank of curry and the rooms we had been assigned looked nothing like the photos and our 2 rooms were on different floors I asked for my money back. We couldn't originally get into this hotel as its not manned and had to ring 2 different phone numbers before managing to speak to anyone. They were more concerned about us paying for parking. We asked for are money back but they declined. They suggested moving us to another one of their hotels so we accepted. Again the place stank of curry. Their were curry stains on the carpet. The bunk beds were so wobbly and unsafe we took the mattresses off and put them on the floor. We were given a key safe number to enter the property which was irrelevant as the lock was broke so anyone could walk in. On checking out we had to go to another hotel to hand our keys in which was unmanned after 20 mins of trying some other guests left meaning we could gain access. The TV signal was horrendous u couldn't really watch it. Due to the lack of staff and the broken door we just felt unsafe. We will never be returning
- Valerie (4/5): - Wasn't clean
- Oakley (5/5): -
- Rocky (7/5): -
- Sharon (7/5): Good value - Was good for the price tea coffee towels was impressed The double bed was like sleeping on the floor i got 59 minutes sleep all night
- Tino (2/5): 1 day - The room picture on the website is nothing to do what the really is the room smell horrible The location
- Paul (2/5): Not again - Cheap Beds had to walk to 3 diffrent places to get keys and wasn’t the hotel we booked
- Sebastiano (7/5): -
- Ayobami (10/5): -
- Charlie (8/5): - Space in the room
- Mederic (9/5): Yes - Good No
- Sandra (1/5): a complete disaster - when arriving at the hotel, I had to phone the owner to let us into the hotel which was not expected as we arrived at 7pm, he led us up 2 flights of stairs to our double rooms which where not close to each other, but two of our party where disabled people, we did relay this to the owner before making the booking and he reassured us that this would be okay, he then phoned his wife who brought the keys to some downstairs rooms at the back of the hotel, both rooms where small one had a single and double bed inside and the other was a double bedded room, both rooms where depressing as the walls where white washed very crudely the carpets where shabby no nice soft furnishings like in the online photos which we checked over before booking, the bathroom areas looked very dated and needed replacing, no towels as shown in the web photos, also no lamps as shown on the online photos either, there was an unpleasant smell in the room with the single and double beds, we could not stay in these rooms and left telling the owner we where not staying and put the keys in the designated box near the reception desk, I also paid £30 for parking for the duration of our stay from 07/08/25 to 10/08/25 but we did not stay, I did not take any photos of the rooms as one of the party has mental health issues and wanted to leave as soon as possible. the above statement should be in this box.
what we did like was the parking availability for our stay and location.

- Colette (5/5): Adequate - Staff were friendly, a phone call was needed to get one of the staff to open the main doors. Location was perfect for us for the international convention centre. Plug sockets and extension leads need fixing and updating. Basic accommodation 2 Star rating is correct for this place so it’s correctly listed.
- Simas (1/5): Awful - Absolutely nothing I had to go to a completely different building to check in the bed was hard as rocks there looked like there was blood on the door which was painted over every room stunk off weed the shower did not work
- John (1/5): Awful - There was no breakfast, not a bad location, clean fridge, clean towels, Clean bedding and a comfortable bed. Everything. At 13.12 hrs I received a message telling where I could pick the keys up at, which was at a differant hotel. He wanted I.D. I don't have a driving Licence or a Passport he took a photo of a photo card. He then walked me across to the hotel, he said if you want to stay again phone us and we'll give you a better price. On approching the hotel It looked alright from the outside. He opened the door and I was met by a badly stained carpet and there was a mattress leaning against the wall. ( If the money was refundable I would have turned round and left) the stair carpets were thread bear, went a couple of flights of stairs no where had been vacuumed. When reaching the room 204, he stood so I couldn't see the opening side of the door, he gave me the key and went, the room had not been vacuumed, the carpet was stained in a number of places, the table in the bay was not safe (if you leaned on it, it rocked.) the chairs were stained so I couldn't sit down (I had to sit on the bed) Knob missing on the drawers, holes in the walls, at some point the door had been forced which hasn't been repaired properley, they've just screwed the frame back together which is not Secure and could be pulled apart, from the outside it looked like someone had used a crowbar on the door (I didn't see this on entering has he was stood there). The Bathroom had not been cleaned properly. There were two side curtains one was half off the runner and both were dirty, the central blind was badly stained. I couldn't log into their wi-fi it kept coming up with poor signal. It's a good job that I was only there for one night because I couldn'd leave anything there. The next time I'm in Bournemouth I'll be back to my normal Hotel.

- Aaliyah (6/5): -
- Vilija (6/5): - The property was old building, but the staff were helpful
- Hawa (6/5): - The location was great - very close to the beach, clean, pleasantly quiet." The shower had very weak water pressure, barely more than a trickle.
- Nigel (8/5): - The hotel was unmanned.no Aircon in room. shower was okay but a bit small. parking was very limited.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay Somewhere Else - This hotel is absolutely terrible. There are no staff on site, it’s absolutely boiling, stinks and the state of disrepair is shocking.
We booked a city view and we were overlooking a horrible dirty old shed in a tiny, messy courtyard.
We arrived at five and the rooms weren’t ready even though check in is at 2:00. The reception area is obviously closed and full of rubbish.
There is a massive fridge in the room that makes a very loud humming noise all night, and the walls and ceilings are so thin you can hear people getting out of bed if they are above you. The kettle didn’t work, the curtains didn’t fit, the windows didn’t all open and there is paint peeling off the internal doors.
You have to go to a separate hotel to check in as they run about five hotels with the staff for one.
Worst place I have ever stayed.

- Angela (2/5): Sleepless night - so poor it was almost comical, like Faulty Towers ... avoid like the plague!!! - Location was good and we secured a parking bay right at the front of hotel, we were here for one night only... Everything was dated and looked like it not only needed a clean, but a mega paint job throughout. Carpets were worn, stairs were creaky, very old fashioned but had it been clean and decorated well that would not have been a problem. There was a strong smell of Indian Curry as we entered (even my local indian restaurant dont smell like that). Room had dirty fan on the desk, TV on wall had hanging extension cable, and another extension cable on top of fridge. The bathroom had no cold water working in the sink or the bath/shower - hot tap only. Therefore we could not shower or make a cup of tea, kettle was also not the cleanest. We immediately let hoteliers know about cold water and they said they would send someone. We went out assuming it would be fixed by time we came back, 3 hrs later. Returned and still nothing done, no one had been. We now have 3 adults in this room waiting to shower and get out. Rang again to be told someone will come. Waited another half hour, no one came. Rang again and was told we could be moved. Had to pack up as they moved us to basement studio but only had 2 beds, 3rd bed was mattress on floor and we would have to make it up - not what we were expecting! Complained again and we were moved this time to new hotel round the corner Crystal Beach Hotel, not ideal as our car was parked at Serenity, but we were rushing for time now. Crystal Beach was also very dated but somewhat better. TV had 2 channels only that were not tuned in correctly, so was intermittent, fridge was manky. Window curtain hung down back of fridge, fire hazzard! Sunday morning fire alarm went off, no one came to check and everyone was hanging around the Grd Flr not knowing what to do. I should add also that the fire bell could not be heard from bathroom but was a loud bell that could be heard everywhere else, just hope no one is in shower if there is ever a fire. I managed to silence the buzzer and we waited for hoteliers to come check...no one...
- Chris (4/5): Disappointing - location was good....parking good,,,even though at a cost , had to check in at another hotel over the road . room was to hot , windows were open to all even with curtain pulled , ( no privacy )the basin tap was broken ,,no cold water ,,and the hot was way to hot , and the shower controls did not work work either it was stuck in the warm posistion .
- Joana (2/5): Very poor - Location No cold water poor accommodation and poor hygiene.
- Julio (2/5): - I had a terrible experience at this hotel. The infrastructure was in very poor condition, and the entire place seemed neglected. Our check-in was delayed by three hours beyond the agreed time, which was extremely frustrating.
When we finally got to the room, it was dirty and clearly lacked basic maintenance – broken fixtures, dust, and an overall feeling of carelessness.
This was by far one of the worst hotel stays I've ever had. I do not recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or reliable place to stay.
- Kevin (4/5): - I parked at Serenity Hotel but had to walk and check in at
- Roxana (10/5): The hotel was quiet and very clean, with everything you need for a comfortable stay — from fresh towels to basic toiletr - The room was very clean, and I was pleasantly surprised to find hair conditioner — something you rarely see in hotels. It had two windows, so I could enjoy a nice breeze. The location was great — less than a 10-minute walk to the ocean and close to the town center. This hotel is definitely underrated! For the price, it was more than I expected. Most people come to Bournemouth for the beach. Since check-in is only after 3 PM, we had to carry our backpacks with us to the beach. It would be much easier if the hotel had a luggage storage room, so guests could leave their bags and enjoy the beach before checking in. This small change could encourage more people to return. Otherwise, many will look for hotels with earlier check-in times or luggage storage.
Also, I didn’t like finding the hotel door locked when I arrived. There should be someone at the front desk to welcome guests. The note said to collect the key from a different hotel, but honestly, most people don’t read the small print — they just expect to walk in.
That said, the staff at the other hotel where I picked up the key were very friendly. Thank you!
- Deborah (8/5): Not booking again - Location The bathroom had a horrible smell
- Deborah (1/5): Experienced bed bugs jn n the room - The fridge Bedbugs in room
- Adrian (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (4/5): Ave stay - Basic room tired
- Malcolm (4/5): Forgot to take any - Clean No continental breakfast which we expected as it was on there website!
No plug to wash basin in bathroom.
Couldn’t adjust shower temperature!
USB plugs on double socket did not work.
No fans available.
No check in staff at hotel reception, had to go to another hotel to check in and get key.
- Malgorzata (6/5): - Not enough space for 3 adults in the room,no AC.
- Sandra (5/5): Passable - The location The ceiling was coming off, there was only two sockets which were for the fridge and kettle.
- Rob (2/5): AWFUL, AWFUL - We arrived and were informed that the room we had booked months in advance was not available. We were told that they had another room in the building next door but one. We were given a key and door code, which did not work, and directed to the hotel. The hotel smelled very strongly of damp and sewage. We had booked a family room, what we got was a tiny room with bunk beds, fairly clean, but tiny. Tiny mirror in the bathroom. Certainly not what we ordered on the hotels website. I went to complain and ask for a room change. Nobody was available. There was a phone number which I tried several times before it was answered. When I explained my situation the guy on the other end could no longer speak English very well at all. We spent until 12:30AM driving around Bournemouth and surrounding areas looking for an alternative. Speaking to other hoteliers, the serenity was well known for doing this. Due to the Isle of white festival and, a big international cheerleading competition, which our daughter was taking part in, no rooms were available at any price
Overall, we did not get what we paid for. The hotel was truly awful.
- Aoife (2/5): Awful - Check in was supposed to be 2pm but they lost the keys until 5pm.
Total mix up with rooms. They gave me keys to a room where someone lived.
Very stressful.
- Valeria (1/5): Stay away - No receptionist, outdated premises, dirty carpet, and a shower that doesn't work well. I ended up not sleeping there.
- Doug (1/5): Abysmal! - Upon arrival I found only a locked door. There was a phone number which I called. After waiting some time for my booking to be found I was told that registration had to be completed at a different hotel. The lady came to fetch me since I didn't know where this hotel was. After crossing two roads we arrived at the other address. It was as well that it was not raining!
It was there that I was told that I would be charged £10 to park my car! This was news to me since I had not seen it on my booking. I told the lady to cancel the booking and walked away.
I thought that this was a poor way to treat a customer.
I would certainly not book with these people again.
No refund has been forthcoming despite complaining to booking.com.
- Andrew (3/5): Very very disappointing would not recommend or stay there again - Don’t know why you call this a hotel as it had no staff on promises no amenities. Paid for a 2 night stay had same cups for the weekend. How this can be classes as hotel is beyond me
- Garry (3/5): Extremely disappointed - The location to the Bournemouth international centre and parking available and a cost of £10 a day No staff at the hotel had to go to another hotel 100yards away to collect the room key.
The water ran brown so had to buy bottled water to use in the kettle for both hot drinks and washing facilities as there was not enough water pressure to enable a shower.
There was no milk in the fridge so we had to buy our own.
The mattress on the double bed was solid so we both had to sleep together in the single bed as the mattress was more suitable.
There was no bedside light available.
There was not a breakfast menu available and only a small room with a microwave if you wanted to bring back a takeaway meal.
Would not recommend this hotel
- Charlotte (5/5): Great stay apart from no cold water, only found out when came back after work - Great location for work No running cold water out of sink tap and taps over bath leaked when turned on. Room 309
- George (2/5): Way over priced - The bed and bathroom was clean We turned up at the property and couldn't get in we tried the door bell with no answer. A man who was staying told us we had to check in at another hotel to be moved here.th ceiling had a massive water stain and the paper was hanging on. It was to hot and couldn't sleep. Also parking was £10 a night. I couldn't justify the price at all it's a complete waste of money.
- Tia (7/5): Good - The room was tidy and the bed was so comfy. Liked the bows on the toilet rolls. Liked that there was a fridge freezer in the room. Also the hairdryer. There was only 1 bedside table and no lamps. The floor in bathroom was slippery with no shoes on. The shower doors didn't meet in the middle. Could have done with an iron. There needed to be more plug sockets.
- Laura (7/5): Met my needs perfectly and I'd stay there again - Location was ideal for spending the weekend at a convention at the BIC
Accommodation was roomy, clean and quiet (thanks to location at back of building and other guests being considerate)
Ability to park out front was super helpful and the daily charge was much cheaper than any other alternatives.
I was also grateful to be able to check in early (luck of the draw I guess).
Didn't see any staff at the hotel but the team at the sister hotel with welcoming and helpful Suggested improvements
1. I'd recommend notifying guests that they need to check in at the sister hotel (about a minute walk away) ahead of their arrival. If you arrive tired after a long journey or it's late or the weather is poor, it might not go down well.
2. Also suggest putting a simple map on the notice of the front door, to help those who process things visually work out where they need to go.
3. As breakfast isn't available at the hotel, suggest provide a list of places that offer breakfast (cafes, hotels that allow walk-ins etc) and also directions to the nearest convenience store (there's a NISA a couple of minutes walk away) if guests wish to do their own thing.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very basic facility, no breakfasts available
- Sarah (5/5): Passable -
- Bobby (4/5): Ok if you just want to rest your head, but it was lacking. - Hotel was in a central location, easy to get into the city centre and beach The hotel was not manned, had to call a number where they requested I go to another hotel to check in. Not knowing Bournemouth, and after driving 3.5 hours, It was not possible. Fortunately they did come after 5-10 mins to let us in. The room I was in had no water pressure at all literally I sweat more than was coming out of the shower head, and the light in the bathroom constantly flickered. It would have been great for a lightning scene in a horror movie but the light on the mirror worked so I was able to use that whilst cupping my hands under the drips of water in the shower.
- Javed (1/5): Bad - Staff requested me to add a review online immediately on check-in.
- Stewart (1/5): Disappointing, uncomfortable, unwelcoming - Location was great & it was clean Despite being allocated an updated room the wallpaper was stained and hanging from the ceiling, the window was not secure could’ve easily fallen out of it, no instructions prior to arrival at property about lack of rec, parking arrangements & no reception staff to welcome us. Made to feel like an inconvenience
- Skye (3/5): Poor -
- Monika (9/5): Superb - Liked the location. The room was spacious and clean
- Hilton (7/5): It was good for an over night stay, - There was no breakfast offered. Bathroom very small and water pressure in shower not very good.
- Badji (10/5): Exceptional - The cleaness and the warm room after a day out and even the hospitality. No towels provided.
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Rochester (5/5): Passable -
- Rochester (5/5): Passable - Near town center You never see any staff and someone should visit to ask if you needed more tea or coffee could not get the tv to work properly and when I called respeption there wasn't anyone to come help...
- Jeremy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Joanna (5/5): Handy, cheap but not great - Location was convenient. I was given a double room as they didnt have a single. it was clean and cheap I might have been upgraded to a double room but it was stiflingly hot despite my efforts to turn radiator off. No bedside light, Noisy fridge/ freezer in the room struggling against the heat just to keep tiny long life milk pots in. No staff on premises. No catering at all. More a hostel than hotel. Extra charge of £10 cash for a permit to park in the empty car park that I had not been advised of.
- Luise (9/5): Nice and affordable little hotel near the sea - My room was comfy and clean. The hotel is very near to the sea, beach and town centre which is nice. Wifi, water and lights were all great. Tea, coffee and a water boiler were avaiavle in the room. The bathroom could use some renovation to clean out a bit of mold. I didn't mind it but other guests might feel uncomfortable.
- Susan (10/5): - Everything was good and easy to get
- Chris (6/5): Pleasant - Location It wasn't clear that you had to go to another hotel to book in. The bin hadn't been emptied and the bed was unmaid
- Amanda (9/5): Superb -
- Melanie (6/5): Pleasant - Staff was a kind man Everything else was acceptable for the price
- Bernard (8/5): - Very pleasantly surprised by the condiition of everything.
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miss (9/5): I like this place 👍👍 - Comfortable bed, ensuite, room, clean, and well maintained, free tea, coffee with a kettle in the room and a fridge, competitive price A couple of flights of stairs and no lift
- Mark (5/5): Passable -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect size rooms with plenty of space for items. Separate bathrooms with soap and shower wash.
- Steeve (8/5): Good location , value for money but small room , not the most comfortable - Great location up the hill, good value for money as i booked in advance, just needed a room for the night, it did the job. Good to have a small sink in the room. Decent strong bed. Room was quite small, you can see they tried to divide into smaller rooms to get the most out of the building, small shared toilet and shower with poor water pressure
- Karina (8/5): Very good -
- Kathryn (7/5): Accommodation basic, clean and adequate in an excellent location making our stay great. - Excellent location and clean. Friendly, helpful staff. It had a fridge!!!! Thank you and well done for providing a fridge. Only one curtain with very few hooks at large picture window. Would have really liked two proper curtains.
- Hong (6/5): handy location. friendly staff, clean bathroom. - upgraded to double bedroom had to pay for hotel parking. had a view of a wall
- William (10/5): Good -
- Frederick (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were great 👍 All the hills in Bournemouth
- Ken (8/5): Very good -
- Katy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rusiecki (10/5): Exceptional - We liked the Serenity hotel because it has a nice location 5 minutes walk to the beach and pier and 5 minutes to the city center we had a quite spacious room in addition with a fridge which pleasantly surprised us the hotel is clean and nice we will definitely come back to this hotel and we recommend 👍
- Downham (2/5): Absolutely horrible - Bed rock hard kept hitting the metal bed frame smelt musty no bedside light no one on reception as completely shut had to go to two different hotels in order to check car in and check in 10 pound parking per day meant to be a deluxe room far from it worst hotel we've stayed in ever for Bournemouth never again totally not recommend to anyone A different hotel
- Ihor (8/5): Staff amazing - I liked that men cleaned up nicely and quickly. he is very friendly. Many thank him the room smelled like someone was smoking. the ceiling creaked from above. we heard our neighbors, every sound, loud music until 12 at night. it needs repair. that is, you can hear everything. the view from the window is not good. it is not worth the price
- Wheeler (5/5): Passable -
- Adriana (5/5): Passable - The mattresses are very hard
- Ali (9/5): Superb - Location, cleanliness
- Jacqui (10/5): - Checked late so only slept in the room. Very comfortable mattress. We has a lovely sleep.
Clean room. Walk in shower in good order.
Night staff friendly and very helpful.
I was given a choice of three rooms.
Would definitely stay again.
- Adrian (1/5): Bad -
- Yvonne (2/5): - Worse thing here was our room which is situated the other side of a fire door where there were 2 other rooms. The fire door had no handle on it so for half a hour we were LOCKED IN UNABLE TO LEAVE. In the end we had to alert someone on the street through the window of our room who had to find their way in to where we were. Had there been a fire we may well have lost our lives.
Place Needs a serious update. So basic… awful bathroom & shower with no extractor nor window that opened. Very cheap fittings and so old. Whole room smelt musty as no air con nor had it been aired. Only one bulb in centre with switch out of reach of bed. Noisy fridge. Nasty carpet. Nothing nice about this room. Only redeeming factor was the general cleanliness and bed made up well. I feel sorry for the staff who have to work here.
- Andrew (6/5): I get it's a 'value' hotel but some very basic additions would make a big difference. - Pleasant enough and good location. The Hop Inn which is just across the road do a great value English breakfast. I'd read that the hotel had been fully refurbished but I don't think you can call a lick of paint 'fully refurbished'. Still very dated; only one light switch which is by the door i.e. you have to get out of bed and walk to the switch. Only two hangers in the wardrobe. No hooks anywhere in the room not even the bathroom for a towel or hand towel. No toilet roll holder!
- Ruth (6/5): Bournemouth Convention - Location great for my needs ...
A steep hill climb but l didnt mind was good exercise..
Lovely manager.l was not happy with my room and he moved me after 1night. A bit noisy at times but tolerable...it is August after all so holiday season .Many people around....
- Natalia (1/5): Very disappointing - Staff and website says that hotel has parking included but I got a fine of £90 for parking In front of the hotel. When I complained the staff didn’t want to take responsibility for giving wrong information to the customer. Awful I personally asked the receptionist and she reassure it was ok to park there without paying.
The hotel smells runk
- Hamidouche (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (1/5): Dreadful never again in a million years - Location fine
Nothing to like Knock the building down and gut it
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kimberley (7/5): Good -
- Greg (1/5): as much as the host was nice, i would rather have spent a night camping naked on top of Snowden - worst hotel ever, it was like being in an immigrant detention centre broken sink.
no hot water
broken shower
very damp room
mouldy furniture
