The bathroom doesn't have a heater and may be a mirror for dressing table in family room will be appreciated.

• Kelvin (7/5): Budget Friendly - During our pilgrimage to Velankanni, we stayed at Santiago Illam. The stay was overall comfortable, but there are a few things worth noting for future visitors. Location: The property is located in a remote area, tucked away from the main road. Finding the right route took some time, and the narrow approach road made us hesitant to drive in. However, we managed to bring our car in. Parking is limited, so it’s advisable to explore the area on foot to avoid the hassle of moving your vehicle. Accommodation: We booked the Family Room, which is on the ground floor. Other rooms are on upper floors with no lift access, which might be inconvenient for elderly guests or those with mobility issues. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities, including an attached bathroom. The property is reasonably close to the church, making it a convenient stay for pilgrims. Areas for Improvement: Linen and Bedding: Linen was provided only upon request and in limited quantity. For a family room, we initially received just one towel and blanket. After requesting more, we were given only two extra blankets. It’s advisable to carry your own towels and blankets. Toiletries and Water: No toiletries or drinking water were provided, so be sure to pack these essentials. Hot Water: Hot water is available, but you need to request the caretaker to switch it on. Mosquitoes: There were quite a few mosquitoes, so carrying a mosquito repellent is a must. Parking: The parking space is very limited and tight. It's better to park elsewhere and walk to the property. Overall Experience: Considering it’s a budget-friendly stay, Santiago Illam is a decent option for pilgrims visiting Velankanni. With small improvements in hospitality and facilities, it could offer a much better experience. Would I stay here again? Possibly, but I’d definitely come prepared!

• V (6/5): It was good - Beds Ward robes needed, soft blankets and good quality bath towels should be kept ready, instead of we asking for it. big mirror with lighting should be made available., bed coffee, breakfast to be included., didn't get WiFi network. And location to be in a good place.it is a narrow lane.

• Anonymous (1/5): Bad - Ad mentioned private parking but we couldn’t even get in as the road was too narrow. We were told by the owner to park 150-200m away and walk to the hotel with our luggage. We arrived at 2.30am and had kids and women with around 13 bags. This was ridiculous and we felt mislead. We had to look for another property at 3 am. Horrible and misleading property

FULL OF HUTS AND THE OVERALL AMBIENCE WAS NOT SO GOOD THE AREA AND LOCALITY WAS NOT SO GOOD. WE HAD GONE TO VISIT THE SHRINE OF OUR LADY IT WAS A BIT TOO FAR. NOT UP TO THE STANDARD I EXPECTED. THE WATER SUPPLY WAS ALSO NOT SO GOOD. FREQUENT POWER FAILURE. NO INVERTER FACILITY. IT WAS OK WITH ME BUT NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH HIGH QUALITY EXPECTATION

• Binu (7/5): In the scale of "good, better, best", I would say the room is good and will rate 7/10 - This is a house like hotel within the residential area and has no restaurant. The location is quite good, however, road and parking facility is poor. Only cars can enter the road (location: 100 meters long from sub-main road). The owner and waiter is too good to speak with. Price is reasonable. A family room of 8 members requires atleast two bath room. This room has only one. We found difficult to get ready in the morning for attending the holy mass. However, as another room was empty, that bathroom was given for us to use. Bed sheets were not given. Water was stagnant inside bath room.

There was lot of mosquitoes we have requested to the percentage of all out but he did not give us all of stating that there is a fan an AC you can manage but all night we wear having a mosquito issues please make sure that for the next time move over comes in the room have one all out .
