- Natalie (7/5): Short business stay whilst working in the area -
- Natalie (1/5): Very disappointed - awaiting refund - Location is great Boiler broken and needed to be topped up (written on previous review also, yet still rented out property)
Excessive mould in bathroom - bathroom walls, ceiling, shower head, washing machine, kitchen ceiling - owner claimed to not know about this issue but it’s clearly a build up over time. Couldn’t use shower or washing machine due to mould.
Beds uncomfortable (also mentioned in previous reviews)
We left early into our stay due to having a young child.

- Peter (5/5): Lovely location but some important areas need improvement - Location, near to the beach for walking our dogs 2 night stay This was our second visit. After the first visit my husband advised the owner that the heating wasn’t working and the toilet blocked up on the last morning. Unfortunately the same issues occurred on this visit, despite the boiler being worked on an hour before we arrived, the work had not been completed but we were advised on how to rectify the problem should it occur. The toilet again overflowed onto the floor and up through the sink! We have been advised since it was due to a problem on an outside pipe. We also discovered the WiFi cable used to operate the TV had been pulled apart and had to replace it. Little comforts were missing on both visits, toilet roll (2 sheets?), no hand wash although washing up liquid was available this time.
- Rachel (1/5): - Location
Quiet neighborhood The house smelt musty & damp on arrival, probably down to the boiler not working, water was coming out at the bottom collecting in a bowl. I contacted the owner who came out, advising to fill up tank. We did get the heating on but I had to keep filling up the tank & emptying the bowl. The microwave had a huge crack on it, the owner replaced this. There were a number of issues with the property. Toilet seat moving, shower hose bracket was loose, grout in bathroom was very dirty, the toaster only worked on one side. Cobwebs everywhere, dado rail missing in the lounge, 2 chairs in the dining room for a big table, a broken chair left on the landing, wallpaper & paint peeling in most rooms. Garden front & back uneven path/patio. Garden shed Broken pieces. Dirty outside windows. I was disappointed as this was my third time in Redcar, since last October 25. I was contacted by the owner through booking.com. at 3:58pm when we were due to arrive at 4pm that the boiler had an issue and the plumber was waiting for a part. Perhaps I should have known about this earlier so I could have arranged alternative accommodation. I previously stayed at The Armada Guesthouse an excellent accommodation. I thought I would try a different accommodation as my mum came with me & my daughter.
- Gordon (9/5): - Clean and warm
- Shayne (6/5): Overall not bad - Comfortable clean warm No toilet paper shower rail holder not fixed to wall no condiments in kitchen radiator leaking in back bedroom
- Peter (7/5): Nice house, good location , comfortable stay. - The location was good , the property was comfortable and well laid out. The heating was not working on arrival and I had to repressure the boiler, there was only one loo roll left for a two day stay and no soap in the bath room.
- Steve (4/5): Clean and warm but otherwise disappointing. - Very clean and warmed up quickly.
Good location for our needs...a funeral nearby.
Nice clean beds and lovely towels. We are elderly and the bathroom wasn't really safe. Very steep slippy bath with shower overhead with no safety mat or hand rail. There was a tiny amount of diluted washing up liquid, we arrived too late to find a shop and shouldn't have been necessary for one night. The quilts on the bed were clean but far too thin for winter/ spring use. Small things like the toilet seat was cheap and light and didn't fit, outside was awful, broken swing on grass and a mess outside. The lounge fire didn't work. Some radiators didn't work , needed bleeding but we couldn't find a key. The tv was logged in to other accounts and no instructions. We only needed a bed and we were warm and clean but anyone staying more than one night would be disappointed I think. Not really suitable for older clients. It needs sorting and the renovation needs completing before rental again I think. Lots of flaking paint and evidence of damp. Old out of date food packets in one cupboard. Not ideal. We have written a polite e mail to the owner on return but not heard back. Hence our review.
- Jenna (1/5): - Nothing much tbh Damp, mold

- Lindsey (4/5): Overpriced for the quality of the property. - Great location, short walk to the beach. Morrisons daily around the corner, quiet and spacious. Property has a lovely layout. Carpets wasn’t clean, food left in cupboards from previous guests. Garden was overgrown, bins overflowing. Rug left outside the back door and bags of garden waste left near the shed. Toilet seat broken, microwave door broken, drawers in the bedrooms jammed. Smell of damp in the kitchen primarily. Sofas and cushions not clean.
- Phil (10/5): Try the honey, see the bees and walk along the river - Amazing little cottage tucked away. Lots of walks and lovely honey
- ian (6/5): Lovely Location and Good Value – A Few Tweaks Would Make It Excellent - The house is in a lovely, peaceful location just a short walk from the beach, which made it perfect for a quiet and relaxing break. There's a great pub nearby with a friendly atmosphere, and overall, the property offers good value for money. The owner was friendly and responsive — when we arrived to find there was no toilet paper, washing-up liquid, or teaspoons, he came round the next day and sorted it out quickly.
With a bit more attention to maintenance and comfort, this could be a fantastic place to stay. The location and value are definitely strong points, and with improvements, we’d be happy to return. There were a few maintenance issues that let the experience down a bit. On arrival, we noticed a black bag of rubbish and some dog poo bags left in the back garden, which wasn’t ideal. During our stay, we also had problems with a leaking washing machine, a broken extractor fan and toilet seat, and the drawers in the bedside tables were jammed. The beds were not very comfortable, which affected our sleep. Although the owner promised to fix these issues, unfortunately, they weren't resolved during our 9-night stay.
- Neil (7/5): Good -
- Damian (9/5): Superb -

- Matt (9/5): Perfect for a dog friendly break - Roomy, great for us to have a short break with the dog. Nice layout downstairs with separate dining, lounge and kitchen - great size back garden. Bedrooms were comfortable, bathroom was nice and the shower was decent water pressure and spacious.
Super close to the beach which the dog (and us) loved! . Amazing value Couldn’t find a bottle opener… that’s all :)
- David (8/5): Very good -

- Steve (8/5): Nice home away - Home from home feeling. Nice co ordinated fittings. Heating good after initial issue, quickly sorted by owner. Didn't seem to get comfortable in the bed.
Usual to have a starter pack provided , even just a bottle of milk.
Door code was not current, had to call owner.
- Gideon (9/5): Superb -
- Nicole (8/5): A transformed house - At first nothing, the light did not stay on long enough to get the combination into the lock box, the light in the hallway is a glimmer, the boiler was broken, there was no heat and no hot water and during a cold shower next day the water leaked into the kitchen- then the owner said things would be fixed and we walked back into a transformed house - a warm glowing welcoming house, with comfortable beds . Amazing. Judge by what happens when things go wrong- because things can’t always be right. See above.

- Mark (8/5): Ok stay. Good location. - Good for what we needed. The property needed a little bit of attention with a few things. Good location. Parking. Car was scraped as no room in the drive really. Needed a few odd jobs doing. The bins were full outside so the ones on inside still had rubbish in them.
Had to message a few times re deposit refund. Asked about a dog toy left but didn’t get any response - they were going to ask the cleaner… Door sticking and they were aware from previous people and it was been sorted on the day we were due to leave.
