• Emma (10/5): Super! - Ik werd zo fijn ontvangen, het personeel en eigenaar zijn super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Dit is zeker een aanrader om in Bukittinggi te verblijven. Prima gelegen en na 15 min lopen ben je in het centrum.

Da wegen Ramadan tagsüber alle Restaurants geschlossen sind, hat er mir einmal mittags Nasi goreng gemacht und später die Weiterreise nach Padang organisiert. Als ich zwei Tage am Maninjau-See war, konnte ich das große Gepäck hier lassen.
• Lis (10/5): Excellent and charming place with a family vibe - A charming building with a lovely location in a residential area close to the centre and with a wonderful view from the roof terrace. The rooms are clean and spacious with a balcony. The owner and staff welcome guests like family, they are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They give great tips for sights and food and help to organise trips if you wish. It is a really lovely place, I felt at home straight away and will definitely come back.

Membuat kami berasa seperti kawan baik walau baru kenal. Owner sendiri masakkan breakfast untuk kami. English breakfast.. sedap. Breakfast di rooftop yg tiada bumbung, agak panas. Harap owner blh sediakan tempat makan berbumbung atau canopy.

• Frank (6/5): Geht so. - Die Kommunikation vor Anreise und während des Aufenthalts war sehr gut. Hasri hat am zweiten Tag unsere Beschwerde nach Ankunft über die Zuteilung eines falschen zu kleinen Zimmers, daß zudem nach Baufeuchtigkeit roch, aufgenommen und uns ein anderes zugeteilt, welches wir am selben Tag auch wieder für ein drittes Zimmer räumen mussten. Es wurden Hinweise auf Veranstaltungen und auch Bedenken für gewünschte Ausflüge gegeben. Die Lage in einer Seitenstraße reduziert den größten Verkehrslärm (aber anderen leider nicht). Die Betten selbst waren ganz ordentlich. - Die Zuteilung eines für längeren Aufenthalt ungeeigneten Zimmers überhaupt. - Mit Ausnahme des Familienzimmers ist der Zustand der Zimmer nicht wirklich gut: -- Schrankelemente sind geklebt -- Im Bad läuft das Duschwasser quer über den Boden, sodaß man zur Toilette und Waschbecken durchs Nasse watet. -- Kleine Mücken oder andere Plagegeister kommen problemlos nachts unter die Bettdecke und sorgen für fröhliches Kratzen nachts und nach dem Aufstehen trotz DEET. -- Eine Geräuschisolierung fehlt und man benötigt für einen angenehmen Schlaf auf jeden Fall etwas für die Ohren. -- Nicht Unterkunft-bezogen: Generell ist in Bukkittingi und Umgebung der Geräuschpegel ggü. anderen muslimischen Orten deutlich höher wie schon an anderer Stelle im Internet dokumentiert. -- Zum Frühstück gibt es entweder das allseits bekannte Nasi/Mie Goreng oder "tapas" (Rührei, gesalzenes Fladenbrot, Gurken- und Tomatenscheiben, Melonenstücke), was schnell eintönig wird

• sharmayne (9/5): Homey - Central location. Fantastic breakfast spot with great view. Really helpful and kind crew. I enjoyed hanging out with Pak Hasri and Pak Andra. Eating dinner, watching YouTube videos and badminton match together in the hall was cool :) I wish there’s hair dryer though I’ve learned that hair dryer is not so common here apparently
• Lisa (9/5): - The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. In the mornings, they prepare a delicious breakfast with fresh pancakes, waffles, and fruit. You can safely leave your luggage after checking out, and if you return soaked from a tropical rainstorm, they even offer you the use of a shower. They’re also happy to help arrange transport or a guide. A place where you really feel welcome and well taken care of! If I have to mention something, it’s that the bathroom is simple and has a shower curtain, but it’s perfectly functional.

• Jörg (10/5): Excellent place! Clean, friendly and very helpful! - This is a really lovely place to explore Bukittinggi from. The house itself has an unusual layout, but it’s charming, well-maintained, and the rooms are clean and well-equipped. The owner and his team are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We received excellent tips and route suggestions, which we then followed using the scooters rented from the guesthouse. The owner has lived in Europe for a while and speaks very good English. We also got great recommendations for restaurants. The location of the hotel is excellent — quite central yet quiet, about 100 meters from the main road. We felt very comfortable and at home here! There was nothing to complain!

• Hermine (10/5): - Wirklich schönes Hotel in ruhiger Lage – man ist aber trotzdem in wenigen Minuten an der Main Street, wo es viele Restaurants, kleine Geschäfte und Cafés gibt. Der Chef ist unglaublich freundlich und herzlich – man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Er hat viele Tipps gegeben und sich Zeit genommen, nachzufragen, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Mein Zimmer war sauber, gemütlich und das Frühstück war lecker und liebevoll zubereitet. Obwohl ich nur eine Nacht da war, kann ich dieses Hotel absolut empfehlen!

Vielen Dank, lieber Hasret, für all deine Mühen und deine Unterstützung – die - Der Besitzer Hasri ist extrem hilfreich und super freundlich! Kein Problem, keine Frage, die er nicht lösen kann. Schon im Vorfeld konnte ich mich hier sehr sicher fühlen. Fahrer und Ausflüge können ohne Problem organisiert werden. Wäsche waschen, genauso . Tolles Frühstück! Sehr familiäre und nette Atmosphäre, in der Nähe des City fußläufig gut zu erreichen, aber doch nicht mittendrin. Abends sehr ruhig. (bis auf die Rufe der Moscheen, das ist aber überall in der Stadt). Alles top!

• Karolina (10/5): - Zatrzymałyśmy się w tym hotelu podczas pobytu w Bukittinggi i był to doskonały wybór. Właściciel okazał się niezwykle miłym, pomocnym i troskliwym gospodarzem – zawsze gotowy, aby doradzić i sprawić, by pobyt był jak najlepszy. Pokoje były bardzo czyste, a łóżka wyjątkowo wygodne, co zapewniało świetny wypoczynek po intensywnym zwiedzaniu. Na szczególne wyróżnienie zasługują śniadania – zdecydowanie najlepsze, jakie jadłyśmy na całej Sumatrze! To miejsce z sercem, które z czystym sumieniem polecam każdemu podróżnikowi odwiedzającemu Bukittinggi.

• Gabi (5/5): Eher teuer für das was man bekommt - Gutes Frühstück Das Zimmer war sehr klein und miffig. Leider kann man im Zimmer und Bad keine Fenster öffnen zum Durchlüften. Das Bad ist feucht und schimmlig. Die Delux Doppelzimmer sind im Eingangsbereich wo auch die Küche ist. Dort ist es schon früh am Morgen ziemlich laut.
• Wei (10/5): A fantastic homestay! - I was really glad to have found this homestay which is in a quiet residential area just 100m off the main road and just a 10-minute stroll to the clock tower. The best part of this homestay has to be the host, Mr. Hasri and his team who instantly made me feel so welcome and comfortable. As other mentioned, Hasri had lived and worked in Europe, so he understands the few crucial things most of us look for while traveling, namely a comfortable bed which is neither too hard nor too soft, clean beddings and room, good water pressure and plenty of hot water for the shower, a strong air-conditioner for the hot and humid weather, a hearty homecooked breakfast, and someone who can provide more information on the attractions and food options in and out of the city center. I will definitely return to Villa Copenhagen for my next trip to explore the hiking options in Bukittinggi. Just a tip for light sleepers traveling in Padang and Bukittinggi to prepare earplugs as morning prayer starts at 4:30am for an hour.
• Melisa (9/5): An ideal place to stay while in Bukittinggi - The shower had hot water. The a/c was quiet and efficient. The bed was comfortable enough, though quite firm; this may matter to some. The room I stayed in had a balcony with a distant view of Mt. Singgalang; it was a very pleasant place to spend down time. Located in a quieter part of the city; the only real noise was 'neighborhood sounds' like kids playing, the odd motorbike, a rooster every now and then, or the local mosque (whereas in the downtown area, it is much busier with cars, motorbikes, and people, and therefore much louder). It's an easy 15-20min walk to the zoo and its amazing Minangkabau Museum, and to the Jam Gadang/downtown area. The outdoor breakfast area has a nice view overlooking a rice padi. Breakfast was good and they let me request different options on different days; they offered fried rice, fried noodles, or a Western style breakfast with eggs and toast, plus some fruit and tea/coffee to go with. Best of all, the people who run the place are friendly and helpful. There was probably only enough hot water in the shower for one person, so if there are more than one of you and all of you want hot water, plan to shower at different times of the day.

Door was hanging off the hinges. The owner was very friendly at first, but then became very avoidant. He wouldn't respond to messages. We rented motorbikes for 150 each (expensive) and one of the motorbikes was so awful we couldn't use it. Then, he suddenly asked for the keys back on the second night without prior communication (we thought we had it till the morning). I was upset and he left me to negotiate with a man who spoke no English. The man kept saying i needed to talk to the owner, but he was gone. Then he blocked me on Whatsapp.

The breakfast on the rooftop terrace is a nice touch. The property was clean and comfortable. The room smelt a little damp, likely from a lack of ventilation in the ensuite.

Breakfast with mountain view, and there’s also common area provided for us to discuss/chit-chat with our group. The entrance from main road is very narrow, need to be extra careful.

The breakfast were good and the location is not to far from the city. The water heater could not last for 2 person. After we inform the room service, they came and fixed it but still it cant last longer for two. I suspect the installation of the water heater was not done accordingly and since the water heater was functioning.

While still being close proximity to public places. - First accommodation where breakfast window is tailored to guests’ preference, which is convenient and refreshing. Serene environment. The check in and check out time is different from actual. There’s one hour discrepancy.
• Khuzairil (9/5): Superb - friendly and helpful staff & owner, welcoming vibes, spacious room, bed & bathroom, wifi, youtube TV, breakfast, and location. ONLY the water heater is sometimes not hot, maybe because the hot tank is not too big. There is no electric kettle in the room (but the staff prepares us the hot water in the flusk), so we consider this is OK for us.
• Roxane (10/5): Excellent place in Bukittinggi - Excellent location, in a small quiet street, with a lot of restaurants nearby. The room is spacious, very clean and bright. Hot show with good flow. They serve a very good breakfast that you can enjoy on the terrace. The Villa is located 10 min walking from the Japanese Tunnels and with the panorama view over the canyon. You can rent a scooter from them to explore the surroundings. Hasri and his staff are very friendly and helpful and very caring about their guests. I highly recommend the place. • Ajazac (9/5): Superb - One of the highlights of my stay was the delicious French toast breakfast that was served each morning. The French toast was expertly cooked to perfection and topped with a decadent caramel sauce that was simply divine. Overall, my experience at this villa was nothing short of amazing. The cleanliness, comfort, and hospitality of the host made for a truly unforgettable stay. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable place to stay.

• Seth (1/5): DO NOT RECOMMEND - Nothing Left after not sleeping whole night and booked another hotel nearby for the rest of our stay. Bathroom leaking suspicious water that floods the bedroom even when not showering. Room filled with mosquitos. Room not sound proof, can hear people talking in the lobby clearly and can smell cigarette even though there’s “do not smoke” signage in the lobby. Staff does not respond to concerns.
