• ABHINAV (10/5): Most comfortable stay in Nubra - The room was the cleanest i have been to in Ladakh. The host was really generous to us and recommended great itinerary ideas. The conversations with the host were great and comfortable throughout our stay. The room had all that was needed surprisingly considering the low end price we paid. If you are planning to visit Nubra valley, this accommodation in Diskit is highly recommended. None

The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with all essential amenities, offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. Ansaar, the host, is warm, generous, and exceptionally gracious. He even went out of his way to offer me a ride to the Diskit bus stop. The home-cooked meals were simply exquisite. Charming little paths nearby lead to the sand dunes and the river, each about a 30-minute walk — perfect for those who enjoy a quiet stroll amidst nature. In sum, I wholeheartedly recommend Travellers Nest to anyone seeking a comfortable, peaceful, and memorable experience in the Diskit-Hundar region. A gentle request to fellow travellers: 1. Please refrain from bargaining with the hosts. They work tirelessly to provide us with a wonderful experience, often in the face of limited resources. Let us honour their efforts with fairness and gratitude. 2. Kindly do not lament the absence of urban conveniences or modern infrastructure. This is a village — serene, unspoiled, and extraordinary in its own right. While we are here, let us cherish what is present, rather than focus on what is not. Beyond financial support, the greatest gift we can offer the locals is our appreciation and respect.

• Prarthito (8/5): Nice stay in Deskit - The rooms are spacious, clean and staff is very supportive and helpful. One night we didn't order any food till late night and owner was kind enough to cook and serve us food even when half the town was closed. Toilets are clean and well maintained. Separate eating area is available. Terrace is open for guests to sit and enjoy night sky. No fans in the room. The weather gets quite hot and arid in summers and I would request owners to include fans in all rooms. Otherwise staying in room becomes very uncomfortable.

• Jean (4/5): Nice on the inside, but not so much looking outside - Lovely room, comfortable bed and welcoming host. Very nice on the inside. I felt unsafe to walk outside—there were a lot of loose dogs roaming about. The bathroom drainage system emitted a sewer odor which could easily be fixed with A U-shaped pipe. Our room window looked down an area of people living in tents and buildings in disrepair. Trash and plastic were occasionally burnt outside.

Please place a bench outside to sit while removing the shoes. Please do not forget to keep the soap or promptly bring one when asked for. The property is right on the sub main road and vehicles with lots noise kept passing by in late at night.
