Guest Reviews
- douglas (9/5): Great stay - Bit of traffic noise.
- Steven green (10/5): Good price nice caravan . - Very clean comfortable caravan with all essentials and cooking also was a basket with sweets and drinks.
Easy to find and good parking .
Warm shower and nice and warm caravan .
Seating in front of caravan for better weather . Didn't bother me as I have tinnitus but the road behind caravan you can hear bikes and cars zooming by during the night the missus slept with in earplugs in.
- Linda Joanne (10/5): - It was in a very quiet area and central to Hawick the nearest town. Had everything I required and would definately stay there again. Regards Linda Joanne Ritson. There wasn't anything I didn't llike. Found it very peaceful and relaxing as needed a break away for a while. Would definately recommend it to my friends and family. Regards Linda Joanne Ritson.
- Lynn (10/5): Lovely caravan in a beautiful riverside location - The caravan is on a well maintained, quiet site, next to the river. It is extremely well equipped and beautifully decorated. It was clean, cosy and the king sized bed was very comfortable. Good shower. Tea, coffee, milk, bread and butter and breakfast cereals are provided, which is welcome when you are touring. A surprise basket of treats, too. Toilettries are also available. We used the outdoor seating both days as the weather was ideal. Check-in was easy with a lock box. Mike has good communication and helpful directions. The caravan site is next to a road which can be busy at times but I knew what to expect.
- Julie (10/5): - Everything you could ever need provided.
Hearing the water at night was lovely Nothing, should have stayed another couple of days
- Jelena (10/5): -
- Onali (10/5): Our stay was absolutely wonderful, comfortable, and truly felt like a home away from home. - We had such a wonderful stay in this caravan! It was very clean and had all the useful kitchen items we needed — it truly felt like a home away from home. Everything was thoughtfully arranged and well organised, which made our stay so comfortable and relaxing.
We especially loved the interior design. It was beautifully done, cosy, and very nicely organised. The cleanliness was excellent, and you can really tell that a lot of care goes into maintaining the place.
Thank you for everything — we really appreciated it. I would highly recommend this caravan to everyone who wants to have a lovely and comfortable experience! There was nothing to complain about; everything was perfectly done.
- Liza (10/5): A comfortable stay really enjoyed ! - It was comfy and had everything we needed and more.
- Arshdeep (10/5): -
- Jonathan (10/5): Great caravan, definitely worth the stay, the value, the location 5* - Everything is provided, you just need to turn up with clothes, food and toiletries. This isn't a normal caravan, this is a 5* all-inclusive (food not included) caravan
- Hyder (10/5): - Awesome Clean n neat
- Chloe (10/5): Brilliant and cosy - How welcomed we were when we arrived.
How clean the full place was for the price. The fact I had to leave :(
- Gratien (10/5): - Dear Mike,
My family and I would like to express our sincere thanks for the delightful experience we had during our stay at Riverside Caravan Park , Scotland.
The caravan itself was well-equipped with all the necessary facilities, making our time there extremely comfortable. Its coziness provided us with a truly restful sleep, and the setup allowed us to relax and unwind in a homely atmosphere. Apart from the occasional traffic sound, which was a minor distraction, everything about the stay was simply wonderful.
The peaceful surroundings, combined with the thoughtful amenities within the caravan, made it a unique and memorable experience — one that we will always cherish.
Thank you once again for your warm hospitality and for maintaining such a lovely getaway. We look forward to visiting again and will be sure to recommend Riverside Caravan Park to family and friends.
- Michael (9/5): Like a home from home. - The holiday let was clean and comfortable and the added gift basket was a lovely touch. Mike the owner is very friendly and helpful with anything you may need.
- Sheila (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jashaan (10/5): It was a lovely accommodation, great scenery too. Will be booking again next time. - Everything was great. Nothing.
- Hannah (9/5): Gorgeous caravan - The caravan is beautiful, the owners have thought of every little thing. Like a home from home!
The caravan site is lovely, with the walk along the river so close an added bonus! I know it can't be helped, but although the site itself is very quiet the road behind the caravan is very loud from early in the morning.
- Nicholas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eric (9/5): Perfect space. - The welcome package was awesome.
Lot of space in the dining, kitchen, living area nothing.
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Nice riverside walks. Short drive to pubs and shops. Tidy site Traffic noise. Bit ott with air fresheners.
- Helen (10/5): Comfortable. Value for money. Like home. - Pretty much everything! The van is amazing. Clean tidy and if you’ve forgotten anything it’s there for you! Brilliant location. Comfortable and the little added extras make a real difference. Wi-Fi can be off and on but due to location nothing can be done. Not a big deal really.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - The whole experience from start to to finish was excellent communication with Mike always on hand. The caravan itself is really clean and tidy with everything you need for your stay, and for the things you need theres many shops within a short distance .Excellent base point for trips and days out.The goodie hamper was a great little touch and was greatly received and enjoyed by all.
Well done Mike a perfect little home from home will defo see you again and thank you so much. There was nothing to dislike
- Marc (10/5): Very enjoyable stay was had by all. - Clean, well equipped, maintained and welcoming. Nothing
- Rita (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (9/5): I enjoyed my stay in the caravan. It’s was well presented and had everything I needed and more. Nice place to star gaze - The welcome basket was a lovely touch. Although I done drink it was nice to see the gesture. I did eat the biscuits and chocolate though😂. Very clean, tidy and caravan was warm when I turned up. Wi-Fi was a bit intermittent but to be expected in a rural setting.
- Austin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Milena (10/5): Had really good stay, caravan was superb, nice quiet area - Everything
- Natasha (4/5): Disappointing - Very well equipped caravan. Ample space in the caravan. Within close distance to Hawick retail shops. Homely finishes in the caravan. No river view from the terrace as advertised. Cleanliness needs attention. Too much perfume scent in the bedrooms. UPDATE 19 Sep: To add to the overall experience from Mike - your DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER is not appreciated and your assumptions are based on pure speculation even though from the time that we arrived at the caravan we shared our dissatisfaction of the location of the caravan and the false advertising in that it says "the terrace has a river view". The location on the booking information shows that the caravan is right on the river however it is not. On 24 July another guest left a review complaining about exactly the same fact that the caravan is not by the river and does not have a view of the Teviot which is FACTUAL information. NON FACTUAL information is your assumption that we are the type of people that exploit accommodation to take advantage of a one night stay. The reason for the request of a full refund was due the FACT that your accommodation offers false advertising. For people like ourselves , who very rarely have a getaway (this being our second short stay getaway in 17 months) even a policy of a minimum 2 night stay holds no bearing when we are not receiving the experience that is being advertised. UPDATE 20 Sep: We have investigated a way to refer to this case to an ADJUDICATOR to review it based on false advertising. Regretfully 1) Booking.com is not a member of ABTA-The Travel Association 2) UK is not part of the EU otherwise the case could have been referred to the European Commission (Booking.com head office is based in Netherlands). Therefore this case will continue to be escalated within the Booking.com Dispute Resolution Centre until you accept full accountability for FALSE ADVERTISING and refund your part of our cost of the £223.20 for the 2 night stay that was booked. Booking.com has already accepted accountability with compensation of £44.64 from their side.
- Sam (8/5): Very good -
- Dilshad (9/5): Nice - Very nice Just make sure to keep a shoe stand in the living room .
- Hazel (10/5): It was so relaxing and peaceful - It was just so lovely and the snack basket was very thoughtful. I also liked there was toiletries in the main bathroom which was a great idea ! Nothing
- Esther (10/5): Exceptional - The place the view and the accommodation
It was well equipped well kept and clean
We loved the welcome basket of goodies
Lovely games
Kids were well entertained There was a gas leak
Although we mentioned it
Nobody came to check, and the water pressure was low so hot water was not available for shower at times
This needs to be looked at
- Shaun (10/5): Definitely will stay again. - Very pleasant and clean Nothing to dislike.
- Marie (10/5): 10 out of 10 very happy - Very comfortable
Very Clean Nothing all good
- Elizabeth (8/5): A clean comfy caravan, marred by road noise. - Very clean and well-equipped. Comfy beds. Generous goodie basket It's not by the river and you don't have a view of the Teviot. (The site is called Riverside.) The back wall is only a hedge away from a main road, with traffic getting busy by 6.30 am, so it's noisy (not a retreat!). I thought the photos & name were quite deceptive.
The kitchen cupboards were full of food (some of it out of date and including opened packets of cereal) and the shower cubicle and shower room cabinet were full of products (very generous), but there was no room for us to put our own food / soap / shampoo / toiletries / etc.
The tv connection block had fallen down the hole at the back of the tv - I retrieved it and re-fitted the leads, but it felt loose & that could happen again.
Some of the information in the file does not apply to this property.
The was no clothes drying rack or tea/coffee machine as mentioned on the Booking.com website.
- Marie (10/5): I would give a good 10 - Spacious , everything to hand , clean comfortable If I had a complaint but I dont it would be the road noise , however it was fine
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Fabulous stay !!!!!! - Fantastic caravan , very clean and everything we needed was available . A beautiful welcome hamper with lots of goodies for everyone xx Nothing
- Zander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (9/5): Would definitely book again - Really clean and comfortable has everything you need Main bedroom slightly cold
- Kevin (10/5): Booked again - Great caravan loved it The hamper it all
- Megahy (10/5): Exceptional - Caravan was beautiful, very comfortable and cosy
- Niamh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Very hospitable and helpful. Welcome basket is a lovely treat 😊 ❤️
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - The welcome basket was very good, nice surprise. The place was spotless and well equiped. Top notch, electric blinds, good heating. All in all, just a great place. Nothing
- Anonymous (8/5): Nice and restorative next to the river and out the city. - So well equipped in my experience of other static caravans! Nothing, it was great all round.
- Lauren (10/5): Really lovely place to spend time with my family. The kids absolutely loved it too. - Riverside Retreat was a brilliant caravan to stay in! Really lovely, clean and comfortable. The hosts left an amazing welcome pack and were very helpful before and throughout the stay. We loved our time there and will definitely stay again.
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): Great location, beautiful caravan with added extras. - Beautiful, well equipt caravan with some lovely added extras, including a tasty welcome hamper, as well as being well stocked with cleaning products, toiletries, an ample supply of towels and extra blankets! The board games were also popular with the children. Traffic noise was occasionally loud during the night, but I accept this cannot be helped. This personally would not stop me returning, but for those who struggle with sleep, perhaps take some earplugs.
- Russell (9/5): We’ve stayed in similar accommodation on the site and this far exceeded the competition. - Very high quality accommodation, with a welcome basket & useful items in the cupboards. Nothing, all good.
- Curt (10/5): Who is a very clean very nice place to stay a little far for our choice for what we were doing we we - We thought the snacks and bread is alcoholic drink and milk. Everything was wonderful.
- Angela (10/5): Excellent holiday in exceptional accommodation - Great location accommodation was immaculate. Catering pack was a lovely surprise 😊 Nothing
- Russell (9/5): Superb - The owner, Mike, was very accommodating when I needed to check in early. He even provided a snacks basket and fresh milk, which was a nice touch. I think it might be time for an upgrade to the oven. Perhaps a newer model would be better since some of the knobs require fixing.
- Christina (8/5): Lovely stay - Immaculately clean, nice touch with hamper that was left. Due to main road behind property was noisy when sleeping in main bedroom.
- Anne (9/5): Superb - Very well equipped Caravan with modern facilities. The owner went over and above with extra features such as large welcome hamper and all toiletries. Nothing I didn't like.
- Elaine (9/5): Would definitely recommend. - Immaculate condition. Lovely welcome pack with goodies to eat and drink which was very thoughtful. Toiletries, condiments, other foodstuffs and cleaning materials available. Helpful host. Detailed info about locality.
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional - Location, hospitality, little touches, and cleanliness were outstanding.
Quiet location with a relaxing, peaceful vibe about it. Small swing park on site and Wilton Lodge Park a short drive away, which were fantastic for our little one.
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional - Couldn't fault the host absolutely brilliant, There was everything you could possibly want/need in the caravan, Tastefully decor clean pleasant too stay in beautiful, outside area is really good as well especially if you have a young child secure and safe everything was Excellent and the host was pleasant and helpfull My only complaint would be the noise which there is absolutely nothing that can be done it is location related as there is a rather busy road although you can't see it you can hear it, And there are alot of residential caravans on site so people are living there lots of dogs which is fine I like dogs but there was a fair amount of barking which was unfortunate again absolutely nothing too do with the accommodation or host himself on his part everything was excellent
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (10/5): Simply wonderful, nothing not to like. - This property exceeded our expectations. It is just wonderful. Superbly clean, fantastically equipped, super comfortable beds, great shower. Wonderfully comfortable inside and great outside seating area on enclosed decking. The site itself is also very quiet. Host Mike thinks of everything. We arrived to find a great ‘welcome hamper’ with chocolate, biscuits, crisps, beer, G&T, bread, jam, butter and more. Just brilliant. Nothing.
- Aaron (10/5): 10 out of 10 will definitely be booking in the future. - Location was great for work purposes, and all of the complimentary treats made the stay fantastic.
- Anonymous (10/5): Came home relaxed, physically and mentally!!! - The property was absolutely spotless, really comfortable beds and pillows.
There was an amazing welcome basket as well as tea, coffee milk, sugar as well as cereal and pasta in the cupboard.
plenty of seating for outside too.
There was shampoo etc in the bathrooms and plenty of clean towels .
The river is a stones throw away and you can get a taxi into town and get food delivered to the van.
A lovely community. The Wi-Fi was intermittent, although you can argue that we should not have been on it and relaxing!
The main road is quite near the rear of the caravan so can hear the traffic but you do get used to it.
- Rita (10/5): Lovely & spotless - spotlessly clean, lovely walks we liked everything
- Matthew (10/5): Outstanding! Good value, spotlessly clean, well equipped, couldn't really ask for more! 11/1] - Outstanding caravan fully kitted out with everything you could possibly need. Especially well equipped kitchen with all mod cons. Everything was communicated excellently well by Michael beforehand so finding the caravan and getting the key from the safe box was incredibly smooth. Then on arrival was greeted with a lovely welcome hamper of all sorts of goodies which was well received! Also it is worth noting that the caravan was spotlessly clean and incredibly tidy. Overall a lovely 3 night break for myself and the wife on a nice peaceful site with the town of Hawick just a couple of miles away. Would love to return at some point. Can't really fault it although the rear end of the caravan where the main bedroom is located is quite close to the road but that's not anything that can really be helped.
- Michael (9/5): Great family getaway at an excellent price. - Excellent accommodation at a lovely site. Had a lovely getaway with the family (2 adults, 1 child). Comfortable and affordable with a very nice welcome hamper to make settling in after the drive up a breeze. Would recommend 👌 Nothing to dislike.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - The caravan was beautiful. Would definitely stay again.
- Christopher (9/5): Fantastic stay, would highly recommend to anyone - Beautifully presented accommodation with a great range of family friendly beds, plates, cups etc. Welcome pack was a very nice touch as well. The only downside is the proximity to the road which may disturb light sleepers
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was fantastic There was nothing to dislike everything was great. Could not find a fault with anything. Would recommend this park to everybody
- David (10/5): Lovely location and great facilities. - Everything.
- Ben (9/5): Superb -
- Kirsty (10/5): Exceptional - The place was beautiful , immaculate and the welcome hamper was such a lovely thoughtful bonus.
- Jawad (10/5): fabulous and highly recommended - in our package the breakfast was not included but we found that the milk, bread, eggs, butter, jams sugar etc was there. when you reach there at night you dont have to worry about breakfast. you will find every thing what you need. there was nothing to dislike. the only issue i face was poor mobile coverage sometime. but it is not related to property.
