- Guillaume1975 (8/5): Bonne étape à Nanaimo - Très bon accueil. Grande chambre indépendante confortable et propre. Espace jardin accessible. Parking disponible. Bon signal WiFi. Café et thé à disposition. Quartier calme. Le petit-déjeuner est copieux mais les produits ne sont pas faits maison, dommage.

- Frauke (10/5): Eine tolle Unterkunft in Nanaimo - Sehr nette Gastgeber, blitzsauber, bequeme Betten, toller Außenbereich, leckeres Frühstück
- Sheri (8/5): Very good - Lovely home with a private area for guests. The backyard sitting areas were lovely. Great continental breakfast. It's best if the property owner doesn't speak of politics as it is quite divisive and could push away future customers.
- Christine (9/5): We unfortunately only stayed one night at the Rockwood House. However we enjoyed our stay a lot and would come again any - Spacious room with use of the garden, wonderful hosts, generous breakfast Nothing to complain about…
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - The stay was 10/10 altogether. Bonus: Priscilla had a nice list of things to do around Nanaimo, and those were all hits!

- Michael (9/5): Gem of a place. - Real home from home ,very comfortable beds .
Just the right level of contact with our wonderful hosts ,loads of helpful advice on what to see and do on the island ,but enough privacy too. Can’t think of anything
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Dominick (9/5): Superb - Great yard and breakfast
- Elmer (8/5): Very good - Clean; quiet safe location.
- Fraser (9/5): We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful suite. - The room was very beautifully and tastefully done. The back yard was exceptional. We had complete privacy on our stay. I would have enjoyed a softer bed, but this bed was comfortable enough.
- Daryl (10/5): Beautiful stay near Nanaimo - Lovely quiet area. Wonderful guests that were very welcoming
- Kari (10/5): Exceptional - The back garden is beautiful and a wonderful place to have breakfast. We were lucky to have the place to ourselves.
- Melinda (9/5): We enjoyed this well-appointed and comfortable garden level suite and highly recommend it! - We appreciated the warm welcome from Priscilla and Doug. The bedroom was very spacious, the beds were quite comfortable and the bathroom was fine. Even though we didn't use the backyard amenities, they are beautiful and well-kept. Breakfast was generous and everything was very clean. It was all very good, but clarification is needed in the Booking.com description about the bathroom - since we were the only guests we had it to ourselves which was great (the bathroom is in the hallway, not ensuite). If I understand correctly, there is another bedroom, and it was unclear whether that would only be booked for a family or group that was travelling together, or if we could have been sharing the bathroom with strangers. Nice to know ahead of time for decision making.
- Annette (9/5): Beautiful stay in Nanaimo - The breakfast was brilliant. The room was immaculate, and better yet, the outside space amazing.
- Lina (9/5): Great room beautiful backyard - They were great hosts. What a beautiful back yard oasis. It’s
also covered which was great as we got to enjoy it in the rain.
They also provided a list of places to stop on our way
to Tofino which was great Not that I can think if l
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (6/5): Not much privacy and not really a bed-and-breakfast - The backyard is beautiful with a coverage space to sit. Unfortunately, unfortunately, the owners deck overlooks the backyard and he was outside grilling while we were having happy hour so there was very little privacy. It appears there is one bathroom for all four bedrooms? I do not know that for sure but it was not en-suite so if there had been anyone else there we would’ve had zero privacy using the facilities. The light in the hallway was on all night long and she said there was no way to turn it off, but she would dim it. She did not and there’s about a 2 inch gap under the door with the light shining straight in my face all night. You walk into the living room when you get there there is no common space with an actual breakfast. You just get some baked goods from the grocery store some yogurt and juice and fresh fruit. It’s not really a bed-and-breakfast. It’s an Airbnb shared suite.
- Yvonne (9/5): Excellent place with beautiful garden - Excellent place to stay in Nanaimo. Amazing garden with different seat. Superb beds, very clean room and an very nice breakfast. Interesting things to do closeby Everything was totally fine
- George (10/5): Exceptional - Easy find. Quiet and calm. Good hosts
- Ann (9/5): Superb - Cute little B&B with really nice garden. The breakfast was outstanding!
- Robert (10/5): Lovely room, lovely garden, great hosts - A spacious room with everything we needed. Use of a lovely garden. Very welcoming, caring and informative hosts. Good and generous continental breakfast. Perfect. Nothing
- Deborah (10/5): Great stay in Namaimo - Spacious and comfortable room with full use of the garden. We enjoyed a relaxing evening there and it was very convenient for our early start at departure bay Nanaimo for the 6:30 ferry to Vancouver.
- Brenda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional - This is the nicest B&B I have ever stayed in. The room is large, and very comfortable. The yard is gorgeous, and the hosts were extremely friendly. The breakfast was continental with lots of variety. Would highly recommend this B&B.
- Monique (10/5): A 10+ for this B&B - A beautiful large room with 2 very comfortable beds. A private coffee corner. The large sunny garden with several places to relax is completely at once disposal. In the morning we had breakfast in the garden. Breakfast was extremely good with boiled egg, croissants, muffins, beagles, yoghurt and a delicious fresh fruit salad. The host was very kind and discrete. She gave us a tip to have dinner at the Crow & Gate pub. The pub was located somewhat remote but was in a beautiful building with an amazing garden where one could enjoy traditional pub food in the evening sun. Nothing
- Lori (10/5): Wonderful! - This is an amazing property. The hosts were gracious snd welcoming. The facilities were incredible. Such a beautiful place. I highly recommend. Everything was wonderful. From the comfortable beds, the beautiful furnishings to the amazing garden space
- Doug (10/5): Exceptional - It was a continental breakfast and very good
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional - We have stayed in a variety of different accommodations in the past 3 weeks in BC.
But having arrived in Nanaimo, we feel like we had struck the jackpot.
There was no hunting for an access point into the accommodation, no requirement to show ID before getting a key, no bond to be paid on arrival, no issues with where to park.
The room had black out curtains (which seems to be a rarity here), tea & coffee were provided along WITH milk (which no one else has given us), the bedroom was spacious with a writing desk & somewhere to put our bags apart from the floor, there were 4 zoned outdoor areas for our use, a fabulous breakfast & all in a quiet area.
Flawless There was nothing we could fault about our stay at Rockwood House. Simply outstanding.
- Elena (10/5): Very nice place - everything was excellent No comments
- Irvine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julianne (9/5): Superb -
- Douglas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vanessa (10/5): 5 stars - Priscilla and Doug were very welcoming and full of local knowledge. We feasted on an amazing continental breakfast lovingly prepared. Thank you for your hospitality.
- Michael (7/5): Good - To rushed, we had barely ate and wanted a speck more and they we there taking it away We did not feel very comfortable as their rules and presence were quite ever around. Did not expect a family home and b&b in the basement. it was very nicely decorated and every thing was there but just not what we had experienced at other places.we ate in the basement as well, and made our own coffee where at other places coffee is mostly always made.
- Gail (10/5): Wonderful accommodations ! - Beautiful furniture, facilities, outdoor patios Loved everything
- Read (9/5): Superb -
- Jessica (10/5): Perfect short stay with friendly hosts and good breakfast. - Spacious room and beautiful garden
- Jean (7/5): Good - Beautiful private gardens. Nice, quiet neighbourhood. Extremely comfortable beds in a large room. Convenient for the ferry. Very clean. The bathroom is private but not ensuite. Ad says they include a bathrobe but couldn't find it if there. So have to go into a tiny hall to get to the bathroom. While only 1 B&B room there is a student staying in another bedroom in this small area. Owners are upstairs. Could hear them early in the morning as just overhead. Never saw student but heard him swearing and yelling into his phone for about half an hour around 9:30 pm. A bit unnerving. Breakfast suited us fine. Continental breakfast set out on table in hall. Not a complaint but don't expect a full, sit down breakfast as in some B&Bs.
- Joanna (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. It is absolutely huge two huge comfy beds. Absolutely spotless. The bathroom is separate but you can lock if needed. Huge garden to relax in! Breakfast really good left outside our room for us. Bagels, muffins fruit yoghurt. Lovely hosts. Bit far from the centre!
- Eric (10/5): Marvellous - The welcome was perfect Nothing
- Lynda (10/5): Exceeded expectations, and was wonderfully relaxing. - Priscilla was lovely and accommodating for our short time at the bed and breakfast. The place was lovely and the outdoor area was so lovely and relaxing! How short out stay was (a result from my planning) wish we could have stayed longer.
- Gerry (9/5): Superb - Really good for a continental breakfast, which is all we had time for. The host had it available the evening before and we took most with us for an early morning ferry. Nothing
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely comfortable beds. Nice veranda to take breakfast. Friendly host.
- Michael (9/5): Very good B&B - would highly recommend it - Beautiful gardens and friendly hostess.
Unfortunately we only arrived late and left very early so didn’t get to enjoy it. A little awkward with big bags but our issue really
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandy (10/5): We enjoyed the stay very much. I recommend staying there more than one day. - The bedroom with 2 queen beds was huge and the beds were comfortable with good quality linen. Our bedroom opens to the backyard. It is a beautifully decorated private garden with gazebos, outdoor/patio swing daybeds, lawn chairs and a small pond, so relaxing sitting out.
There was a very good selection of fresh fruits. There were muffins, bagels with cream cheese, slices of loaf cake, juice and yogurts. If there were a couple boiled eggs with the breakfast, it would have been nice.
- Pysanyi (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, excellent, 100% from100% satisfying place, one of the best places to stay from my experience. Clean room, beds, and breakfast was awesome. Recommended for sure. 5 🌟 Nothing, everything was good 👍
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Otto (8/5): Very clean and a nice accommodation. The breakfast offerings could be improved. - Good location and very clean. The breakfast could be definitely improved by replacing the Tim Hortons muffins and going with real home baked goods.
The total price should be listed on the website as we did not spot the extra $50 cleaning fee when we booked
- Simon (9/5): Superb - Big room, great tea/coffee facilities, nice bathroom beautiful garden, lovely hosts. No aircon, so very hot in room. Bed also very hot, not sure if this due to a memory foam mattress or protector of some sort.
- Karen (10/5): Fantastic short overnighter. We’ll be back for a longer stay - Welcome, large room, outdoor area, breakfast Nothing- it was perfect
- Thomas (10/5): Doug and Priscilla Rollings are excellent hosts. Great value for the money. - Good location. Very comfortable beds. Nice breakfast and coffee machine. Nothing
- Charlton (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, spacious, well appointed. Pictures didn't do it justice. Very peaceful, beds were soooo comfy, and room was just the right temperature to ensure great sleep. Loved the back yard with all the places to sit, read, be, and those hanging daybeds were extremely inviting. This place is an absolute YES.
Can't comment on the breakfast as we had a pre-existing appointment elsewhere. My one minor concern, more of a comment actually, is that the place is not suitable for mobility impaired persons as there are lots of stairs to reach the unit. Don't get me wrong, it's not like the posting says it is wheelchair accessible, but a note to advise that access is limited to those who can manage stairs would be helpful.
- Ingalls (10/5): Super place to spend a night before taking ferry east to Vancouver City. - Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. N/A
- Justina (9/5): Superb -
- Lynda (9/5): Comfortable and relaxing - Lovely room, easy to find, garden amazing, food lots of choices, bathroom outside of bedroom was slightly inconvenient, outside stairs to access should be mentioned. Separate from room bathroom but perhaps I missed that in the advertisement
- Ken (10/5): You've got to try this one. - When we were looking for accommodation and found a B&B with a score of 9.5, curiosity got the better of us and we booked to see what it was like. Beautifully furnished throughout. The garden included decks and several covered Gazebos where we sat out. Then, what a breakfast. Just the best ever, finished off with good home made jam for the croissants and bagels.
We will remember Rockwood House. Not much. Landscaping in the garden is being finished, but this really didn't detract.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- John (10/5): Very large downstairs suite, two excellent queen beds, superb linens, opening onto gazebo, own door. - very fresh muffins and bagels, plenty of fresh fruit, and two eggs. Condiments, coffee and tea.
- Iris (9/5): Superb - Huge bedroom in walkout to back yard
nice breakfast
lovely back yard with decks and water features lots of stairs in and out
- Annie (10/5): Amazing location. We had our meetings in the garden and walking around a beautiful lake nearby. - The possibility to have our meeting out in the beautiful garden.
- Ginette (10/5): a great stay overnight in a very clean and beautifully decorated space - beautiful accommodations and outside space
- Louise (10/5): Great stay thank you Priscilla - Sound of running water in a lovely back yard Nothing
- Jill (5/5): not veey close to town - decor Inconvienient to have to removeshoes every time u went into room..i have arthritis and am uncomfortable barefoot....Reached out to owner re: broken toilet that forced us to leave without breakfast...there should have been a bit ofcompesationn for our added expense
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (10/5): Great place to stay, very friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts. - Very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. nothing - everything was great!
