Guest Reviews
- Sarah (6/5): Lovely break, pool was fab for kids-but a little TLC needed, looks quite tired - Good location and pool for kids was brilliant Place could do with a little TLC-sofa tired and the walls on the small bedroom marked!! a strange smell-potentially the previous guests had dogs!!! The showers are not the best and i feel more clean towels are needed for a 4 night stay!
- Alison (9/5): Superb - Peaceful cottage in a beautiful location with a lovely indoor swimming pool and hot tub. The dogs loved the field. The wifi is bad, which is typical in the countryside but as you're on holiday it's not a bad thing to disconnect for a few days.
- Moya (5/5): Not as good as we thought. - Beautiful location in a gorgeous secluded little village, but only a short drive to Pickering and other little towns and villages.
Nice welcome pack of crisps, biscuits and cake (although a bit of coffee, tea and sugar might have been more appropriate!).
Good lay out inside the cottage. Positive that there was a shared leisure facility, including pool table, table tennis, pool, jacuzzi and sauna (but this needs some TLC).
Plenty glasses, plates, mugs, cutlery etc.
Plenty of parking space.
Good information file with lots of suggestions of what to do locally. Late check in of 5p.m. - latest we've ever had to check in anywhere - especially considering check out is 10a.m. No idea what is done in those 7 hours. Awful, strong smell of dogs as soon as you walk in the cottage. I appreciate that this is a pet friendly cottage - but this was the strongest smell we have ever experienced. Only one tea towel that we could find. Double bed very uncomfortable - big dip in it. Badly stained pillows - only noticed when stripping the beds. Poor flush in bottom toilet. Pull cord light switches - but no weight on the end - just a cord. No bath mat in upstairs bathroom. Cheap toilet rolls. No logs - even as a welcome pack and no response when I texted the hosts to ask where to get them from at 6.30p.m. TV Firestick often needed taking out and putting back to get it to work. Lots of dust and spider webs found - old jammy dodger and crumbs behind the bin in the kitchen, so clearly not cleaned properly. Crockery cupboard had a strong damp smell inside. I had to clean the frying pan and grill before using as they were full of old fat. Pool and jacuzzi has lots of 'bits' at the bottom and the jacuzzi jets squirted straight out of the tub as the water wasn't deep enough. No games or cards to be found - luckily we took our own. The information file did say that the hosts had just taken the cottages over and were refurbishing, so hopefully lots of these issues will be addressed. But in all honestly, a bit disappointing considering the cost for 3 nights.
- Nathan (8/5): Great for groups and families. - Very spacious clean and personal.
The host left snacks which were very kind. The showers were poor. Upstairs bath and shower isn’t suitable for adults. Down stairs shower was a thermostat shower poor pressure. The external facilities such as the sauna, hot tub and swimming pool had an opening / closing time. 10 till 6. This was an inconvenience as we had activities booked elsewhere within this time meaning we were unable to use. We tried calling 3 times with no response about this.
- Richard (8/5): Ideal family getaway lovely facilities definitely return - Lovely cottage, everything needed for self catering. Very comfortable beds. Ideal
Cottage for a family. The teenagers loved the leisure facilities inc the pool hot tub and table tennis Nothing negative to say all round nice place to stay.
