• Moipone (8/5): A private and tranquil home away from home - Pictures don’t do the place justice. The hosts were proactive and responsive. Most issues that were raised in previous reviews were attended to. The fireplace and electric blankets came in handy on cold nights. The jacuzzi took over 3 hrs to heat up but was worth the wait. A few areas of the cottage need some maintenance to bring it to perfection.

• Michelle (7/5): All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Definitely the best views. - The location was incredible, with amazing views of the central Drakensberg. Tranquil and relaxing, just what we were looking for. The house is quite spacious and well-appointed, all rooms face the berg and have en-suite bathroomsT. There is a lovely undercover verandah as well. The woodfire jacuzzi was a nightmare. It took forever to get it hot. We had to supply our own wood (1st bag complimentary), which is an added expense, especially when you buy good wood that burns well. Because you have to add wood constantly, you have to be on the premises and cannot go out to enjoy the activities the valley has to offer. It takes between 3-4 hrs to get the jacuzzi hot enough. Not all the jets were working. It would be better to have an electric jacuzzi. The house needs some maintenance; it is looking a little tired. Plates & cups were chipped, missing essential-sized pots & knives, need new bread boards, and so forth. Could also do with a good spring clean. The garden needs some attention, too.

Justine - Liked that it is secluded and far away, it was so peaceful and tranquil a proper home away from home. Me and my family absolutely loved it. We loved the views from the balcony seeing the majestic Drakensburg mountains, we also loved that it has a jacuzzi. When it rained the rain leaked inside the cupboards in one of the bedrooms downstairs also in the kitchen. There was also a very irritating smoke detector that kept us awake the whole night, but we sorted it in the morning with the help of the host.

• Remona (7/5): A beautiful place - The location and views are stunning. Shiloh cottage is beautiful and has everything you need whilst on holiday. Justine was very helpful with information on places to visit and activities in the surrounding area. The linen and bedding were stained and had a weird odour I reported to the host that the helper had taken a few items that did not belong to her. The jacuzzi takes extremely long to heat up so.stock up on wood bundles and get your own dishwashing swabs, cloths and sponges. Because of the recent storms, the main gate to the estate was left open and we did not feel very safe being the only guests for our stay there.
