Guest Reviews
- Lucy (6/5): Lovely location, cosy cottage, helpful hosts. But shabby and a bit grubby. -
- Louise (10/5): Comfort, tranquility, beauty and kindness - what a wonderful place! - What a beautiful and peaceful cottage. Characterful, with everything you could need for a very comfortable stay. Beautiful garden where we sat out in the obliging sunshine, watching and listening to nature accompanied by the lovely cats, and cows in the field beyond. Hosts Angie and Tony were kindliness and friendliness itself. Carrot cake and milk were very well-received, and thanks to Tony for helpful maps and recommendations. We loved it here - best nights' sleep we have ever had away from home, and we relaxed completely. Nothing could be better!
- Henrik (10/5): Exceptional - This place is simply a dream! We were very kindly received by the hosts, and they were very helpful all the way through. The house is originally two small cottages, but extended and rebuilt with two sleeping rooms and two bathrooms. There is a nice kitchen and access to a lovely garden with a view of the surrounding hills. It is situated in a beautiful landscape with many good possibilities to take a walk. Since we wanted to visit the booksellers in Hay-on-Wye, the distance to the city center may perhaps a bit too long for people without a car. Apart from that, the place in itself is so lovely that we would not hesitate to return when we wish to visit Hay-on-Wye again.
- Wendy (1/5): Awful - I didn’t ! The facilities were very old. It was extremely tired and unclean. The bed was broken. The back door didn’t lock and there was an extremely funny smell.
- Jamie (8/5): Very good -
- Penelope (8/5): Very kind hosts - Pretty and quirky
- Cathy (10/5): Lovely country cottage full of character and very comfy beds - We loved to be able to sit in the beautiful garden and the accommodation was just like home from home x Nothing it was all great
- Sarah (8/5): A lovely character cottage. Ideal for exploring the Brecons. - This is a delightful character cottage, fitted out with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The location was ideal for us as a base for some walking on Offas' Dyke.
The only sounds out in the countryside were the birds singing.
Local shops were about 5 minutes away. All fine thanks
- Hannah (8/5): Lovely cottage for both short and long stays - Lovely location for exploring Hay-on-Wye and the nearby areas (you'll definitely need a car). We stayed two nights but could easily have stayed more, the property could easily fit a family that wanted to stay self-catered for a longer stay.
The cottage itself is quirky and cosy, with great extras like shampoo, tea, coffee, milk and a lovely cake on arrival! The garden is gorgeous, with a cute pond access to the back fields.
Angie is a lovely host, super helpful and considerate. Like a lot of the surrounding area, the property is accessible by narrow country lanes, so be mindful of that.
Watch your head on low ceilings and beams, they're a lovely feature of the property but caught us out a few times.
