I phoned and rang the bell - Nothing, I booked and paid on arrival the gate was not opened and I ended up not sleeping there and my money was not refunded till today They did not open the gate, I did not sleep there

- Malingcwaliswe (1/5): I knocked till I couldn’t anymore. I arrived at the indicated time, 1:40am and knocked with no luck - I never actually slept at selborne. They did not open for me, I slept at a garage in a car.
- Chipo (4/5): - When we arrived we where told booking.com system was down and we where asked to pay their rate which was more than the booking.com rate and eventually got us another place The amount of time it took for them to communicate

From checking in- receptionist was not happu with the fact that i booked through booking.com, telling me that booking.com rates that are not the same as their rates.I felt that was not my problem and wan not supposed to be discussed with me.
Bedding was not clean, pillow cases were torn
We did not have warm water in the shower
Iron was not working
Yard is very dirty and not maintained
- Bonakele Nobomi (10/5): A home away from home - The bathroom looks amazing with hot water and equipped with basics like shampoo, body wash and body lotion. The bed has electric blankets and the best tv channels. I arrived 1h30 after check-in time due to Intercape bus delays and they were kind enough to wait up for me. I was happy that they prioritised my safety as a traveller with kids and I still received a warm welcome. The host got along very well with my 4yr old boy. The ceiling fan is not as effective as an aircon for the December heat. I hope there is a plan in the pipeline to replace the ceiling fan with an aircon.

- Pamella (1/5): Horrible. - The receptionist was so rude and arrogant, we ended up being sent to another guesthouse in Amalinda because Selborne apparently closes at 9pm though we had called and emailed to say we will be arriving late. I will never book at this place again, no customer service whatsoever.

- Dukada (5/5): Passable - The area that is situated in EL is great To be told on the night checking-in that all rooms are full, after we paid booking on the 24th December, and we were moved to another place , instead of checking in in a place that we saw online

They then put us in another location at the back someone yard rhat was filthy and the place was a mess
The lady even had a bad attitude with us
We had no choice as the whole of east london was fully booked
I really hopw thesw guys gets delisted from booking dot come because they operating a circus show

I slept in my own car parked at a garage and when I went there in the morning she didn't even give a damn, she just referred me to Booking.com
