Le sol chauffant de la salle de bain très agréable. Bien sur la vue magnifique qui est mentionnée dans tous les commentaires ! L’insonorisation. Il s’agit en fait d’une maison transformée en un gite au rdc et un autre au premier étage. Nous etions au rdc et heureusement les personnes au dessus ont été très peu bruyantes parce quon etendait chaque pas et quasiment toutes les conversations….

Clean spacious comfortable accommodation in the most beautiful location. Having to rent bedding and linen. It wasn't expensive but it was still an additional cost and the towels were very old, thin and poor quality. Bed linen smelt bad. Location link wrong, use the exact address to find the house.

• Shaan (9/5): Stunning fjord views from a conveniently-located, comfortable home! - The view here is unbeatable, it was definitely the highlight during our stay! We had everything we needed here and more, it was really lovely and we felt at home right away. It's a spacious bottom-level unit of a house, so just a heads up that there are other guests living above you! We saw a lockbox for the keys but had to wait for the host to meet us and hand over the keys, we wish the check-in process had been a little smoother.

It's a very nice and properly equipped apartment. Even though I knew it on the date of booking, it's still a pity that linen and towels are not included in the booking price.

• Susana (5/5): The view compensates all the other detais - View is just amazing The outdoor area is very beautiful, with sheep all around. I found the place simply perfect. The view is first-rate! However, the house is very old and not very clean. There were even cockroaches. But that was expected since it’s an old house, and I was already anticipating that.

• Harris (9/5): A very lovely place, and really nice people, too - Very beautiful location, had everything we needed. It was a rather oldish building, but that didn't matter to us. Maybe some towel racks in the bathroom would have been nice

My first visit was great and we used 3 bed room house. in my second visit i booked 2 bed room house and there was a bad odor/probably coming through a door closed near the bathroom. something smells like bathroom drainage or toilets drainage. We had to sleep while windows are open to minimize the bad odor. Hope they have fixed it now.
• Kellow (10/5): See above comments. We had a superb and unique stay in this wonderful old barn converted into a gracious living space wi - The building itself. We loved that it’s an old old barn that was so authentic with turf on the roof and an old carriage in storage inside and just all the old features of the building on the outside. Then the inside is completely renovated with big picture windows, and a number of beds more than we needed And modern appliances and comfortable living space. The view of the valley below and the mountains and the water is absolutely spectacular! My five-year-old granddaughter was thrilled with all the toys she found to play with there! Horses running across the pasture behind! Even the use of a swingset and a trampoline for granddaughter. We visited the old Steve church in the village and that was very interesting. And then we drove from there to the countryside and back. We had a superb stay here. We were sorry we didn’t get to meet the owners. We did read parts of one of the books that describe life there. We struggled a little bit with the appliances, which are very modern and also quite different from what we’re used to. There really wasn’t anything we didn’t like just a couple of comments. We did have some trouble communicating. I think before we got there, but it all worked out well and we were able to get in and there were no problems. Thank you so much.

If you're looking for a cookie cutter hotel with fancy amenities, this is not it. But if you want to feel at peace and immersed, this property is perfect. A hair dryer and bath rug would've been nice additions.
• Martyna (9/5): Superb - Spectacular views. The house overlooks a beautiful fjord - you don't even need to go outside to enjoy it. There was a place to have a meal outside. We expected difficulties getting there based on other reviews, but we had no problems finding the right address and it was just off the main road, quite easy to reach. The kitchen could use some more plates, utensils etc.

Felt a bit overkill to have to pay for sheets, and while finding the place wasn’t the easiest, it was where google said it was and the host was very responsive and helpful

Apartment seems to be in process of restoration and not quite finished. Some electrical fittings, heaters, main lights and lights over counter and cooker didn't work. Recommend this apartment only for people with their own transport.
• R. (7/5): Enjoyable stay with gorgeous view - The view is phenomenal and compensates for whatever faults the apartment may have. All bedrooms and the living room have the same gorgeous view on the fjord and from the kitchen you look towards the end of the fjord (Flåm). We spent an afternoon on the picnic table outside the apartment, reading and intermittently taking in the view…wow, wow, wow. The apartment is spacious (we stayed in the three-bedroom apartment on the top floor) and the owners are friendly. Location is excellent to visit Flåm, Stegastein viewpoint and the rest of the area. Hike to Mount Prest highly recommend (but you should have a bit of hiking experience for it, nothing too serious but still). As all previous reviews mention: The house is rundown and in dire need of repair/ renovation. There are indeed hardly any amenities although there was hand soap. For us not a big deal, we had all we needed with us but it would be nice to replace e.g. the table cloth which had holes and the washing up brush which looked like being in use for quite a while already. The kitchen was a bit grimy so needs a more thorough cleaning session and the bathroom was smelly (though generally the apartment made a clean impression). The kitchen table is way too small for six (we were four, so no problem). Access road indeed steep gravel road and parking required some careful manoeuvring but for us not a problem (no 4wheel drive necessary but we do have a car with a good engine and we had driven much worse / more difficult toll roads before). Having said all this we enjoyed our stay very much and would not hesitate to come back. It also seems that the owners are working on the house and premises, slowly making improvements. Let’s face it - you pay for the view and boy, it’s worth it!

The parking was on a edge of a cliff...totally unsafe. The approach to the apartment was a steep slope from the parking that was difficult to walk for our parents.

• Luther (7/5): worth the m - Greet location. That's the only reason we choose this. You can see the fjords from all bedrooms. Kitchen could be furnished a bit more - like a bread toaster... Apartment is very old and need refurnishing. But the owner has tried to keep it clean.
• Abesh (8/5): Superb view but lot of things should be changed by the owners - The best thing and only good thing about the property is its view. It overlooks the beautiful fjord. From the rooms, you can see fjord and cruises passing through. It is a perfect viewpoint. Due to the superb view, we could not rate it much lower. However, other things, as mentioned below, need to be changed by the owners to improve guest satisfaction. 1. They expect the guests to make the beds ready with the bed sheets, pillow covers provided. They did not keep it ready. 2. The towels provided were of very poor quality in spite of additional charge for towels and bed sheets. I did not understand the logic of this additional charge for towels. They could add it simply in the room charge 3. The light in the hall was not working. They knew beforehand but did not repair before or during our 3 nights stay 4. The location as per booking.com is wrong. We could not find the property it was our luck that we met the owner on our way and could reach. They should immediately update the location and create clear instructions for guests for check-in as a welcome message like other homestays. They have a property in a beautiful location by rectifying the above. they can create really good experience for the guests.
• Sofia (3/5): Poor - The view is the best part. You will feel a bit like an intruder. First, because you have to make your own bed (and are charged for sheets). Second, because there are appliances around (vacuum, etc.) and barely any amenities (no rugs, toiletries, etc.). Additionally, you’re asked to take off your shoes. While I usually do this, it should be my choice, and I shouldn't be expected to keep the floor clean for the next guest. Yes, it’s a cheaper stay, but there are certain things that make people feel welcome everywhere. It’s a bit rough.
• Liam (6/5): The large home had great views and was clean, but we were not allowed to use the fireplace, there was no shower gel/ - The location, the views and the spacious home. There are no supplies: shower gel or shampoo, tea or coffee. No consumables. Additional fee for linen and towels but they are old and thin, stained and some even had holes. Have to make the beds yourself and strip them before checkout. Not allowed to use the fireplace, the whole home was very cold. The curtains let in a lot of light. There are no hooks in the bathroom or bedrooms so there is nowhere to hang your towels.

If it wasn't for the view we would have left early. Smells not fresh, carpet in living room old and dirty. Kitchen old with charmes and clean but oven needs to be exchanged. Beds new, clean and fresh. Rest of appartment is unacceptable.
• Jo-anne (5/5): Passable - The apartment had reasonable facilities (although the kitchen was old it did have all that we needed). Beautiful views. Beds were comfortable. Lounge room was comfortable. Couldn't walk anywhere safely as the road was narrow so cars could barely get fit on it let alone people walking safely as well. No real walking paths. My children got in trouble for trying to walk down to the water from the farmer that owns the property. They were pretty upset and that did make us feel uncomfortable for the rest of our stay. We felt a bit like intruders. If it had of been explained in the beginning that you cannot walk around on the property it may have saved a misunderstanding happening. There are two units one above the other. Was confusing when collecting keys. had to wait for someone to come up from the farm to give us the keys. Also no where really to park car while finding out how to get in to accommodation, as this is a very steep area this made it difficult. We did not realise we had to bring our own sheets and towels. they did provide them to us at a cost which was fine.

Lack of flexibility about timing of check in even though there was a lock box for keys. Note the location as indicated on the map on booking.com is wrong (but the address is correct).

• Meytal (5/5): Difficult to access and problem with check in - Very nice view The check in time is 17:00 very late, but even than, there is no one at place and they came late so we arrived at 15:45 email the host but nobody answered, we waited for an hour and a half until somebody showed up!, at 17:15.. The house is outdated and not in good shape from outside, the door for example was old and dirty. The road to the house is hard to access and they don’t give you any directions how to get there and where to park. It took us 15 min. Just to turn the car around! All in all service was disappointing and the property condition was disappointing as well.
• Arun (9/5): Superb - The location was superb and value for money. Photos mentioned in description are exactly the same . They charge you extra for bed linen and didn’t allow our own.
• Catherine (2/5): Expensive and uncomfortable place with beautiful view. - The view was amazing. I didn't like anything except for the view. The towels - which I had to pay extra for - were ratty and felt like sandpaper. There was nothing to take a shower with so we didn't do that. The owner expected us to make and strip our own beds with the crummy linens we paid extra for. She even told us to take out the trash. The apartment was outdated and the people upstairs kept me awake/woke me with their walking around. I barely slept I was so uncomfortable. If this was a cheap place that would be one thing, but it was expensive - much more expensive than the nice hotel we stayed out the nights before and after. The location wasn't convenient, either -not in town and had an awful parking area.

• Dodo&me (1/5): A Terrible Experience - The view. The view. The view. The view. When we booked, we let the owner know we'd get there between 6 and 7pm. A few minutes before 7 we finally find the place at the end of a difficult dirt road. No-one there to let us in. No note, we can’t open the key box as we didn’t get the pin code. Very annoying, disquieting, unlike anything we experienced in Norway. We call the owner... answering machine! We're tired and hungry, and we get this? We try to call Booking.com, but get into a loop with their robot asking us our booking number, we giving our confirmation number... We try to call the owner again, 20 minutes later. Now somebody replies. He says somebody will come asap. At 8pm, a person arrives, not friendly and rather defiant. She says she waited for us till 7, which clearly wasn’t the case: our first call registered at 6:59. Why didn't she leave a note at the door? Why didn't we get the code to open the key box? The lady lets us in. The place is rather strange, barren, not cosy at all, undecorated rooms. It doesn't look like accommodation for tourists. We tell her we think we should be compensated for this annoying and stressful experience. She says she can't decide, she isn't the owner. We insist she take up the matter with the owner. She says she will, and that he will answer us through Booking.com. The space of the apartment is badly used. The ceiling is badly insulated, we can hear the upstairs neighbours walking. Even without counting the horror of the reception, our stay is a disappointing experience, the worst value for money. We paid more than ever before and got the worst stay we can remember. The owner never sent any message. That is an unfriendly and unprofessional attitude. It is also unprofessional to use the person we met as a go-between. The owner stays out of reach, while the lady gets the blame from both sides. We think these people aren't fit for the tourism/hospitability business. Stay out of there!

• Ng (6/5): Like to stay again this apartment for future trips but perhaps is better to rent an E-mobile smaller car - Very nice view of the fjord. Very clean and neat place. A well equipped kitchen that has everything we need to prepare meals. Mattress are very comfy, that give us a very good sleep during our stay Very challenging to drive into Aurland area in search for the apartment - roads are narrow and steep. Having some difficulties to locate the apartment. Challenging to drive to the door step of the apartment, hence is more feasible to leave our luggages in the car.
• Addie (9/5): Highly recommended. - We really appreciate the host, spaciousness, cleanliness and location of the apartment. The apartment offers a fantastic view of the fjords. We have traveled for more than 2 weeks in Norway, staying at several places. This is one of my favourites. Set on a farm, it's lovely to hear the baa and the bells from the sheep. Really appreciate the good WiFi as we have had problematic ones at other places. Kitchen dinning area is a little small for 6 people. And possibility to do laundry would have be excellent.

• Nycolle (10/5): Perfect - This is amazing! Stay just for the view alone, you'll never get tired of it. People come from all around the world to see what you'll see from your bedroom and living room. The apartment is also very large, very clean, warm and comfortable. Adorable sheep farm in the back. The town of Aurland is very close with restaurants, a cafe and a supermarket. Flam is 15 minutes away by car, very easy to reach. Incredible value for money. Wouldn't have stayed anywhere else!
