Guest Reviews
- Adam (10/5): - Good value for money
- Carey (10/5): - Wonderful views from the room and grounds. Room was very clean and comfortable. Communication regarding the free transit pass could have been more clear.
- Jacopo (3/5): - Mi hanno rubato il beauty case
- Paolo (8/5): Alternative to folly in and around Davos - The entirely automated procedures for check in and check out worked well. When I arrived only a rather I’m uncomfortable parking space could be found

- Astrid (9/5): Schönes Zimmer schönes Ambiente - Superschönes komfortables sehr sauberes Zimmer Alles super
- sikyung (8/5): - 깔끔해서 좋았어요
- Meredith (9/5): Really nice place. Would come back! - Great location. Very clean. Good value. Can hear neighbors through walls, so may not be the best for small kids?

- Yu (9/5): - Very easy and smooth check-in. I like the vineyard in the vicinity and views from the castle is fantastic. None.

- Alina (9/5): I liked to stay there, I really rested because the hotel was super quiet. The bed was comfortable to sleep and was clean - The hotel is old but cozy. As all hotels in this area. -

- Lucy (7/5): Great views don’t stay during a heat wave - Lovely views and you could walk up the hill to the castle which was beautiful.
Room was clean and bed was comfy
Value for the area was the cheapest around but still not super cheap
Self check in was fine No air con which was as expected but also no fan in the room even. It was 34 degrees and unbearable to even move or sleep in. Couldn’t open window as it was a balcony door and we were on the ground floor (also mosquitoes and lizards)
For the price I would have expected a fan.
To get to the place is up a steep hill to note don’t notice that anywhere when we booked.
Stood for 5 mins whilst staff chatted and walked off to go look at something whilst waiting to check out.

- Wolfgang (3/5): -
- Elizabeth (6/5): - The room was pleasant. But, it was hot, and we needed the windows open. Because windows were open, my friend was covered with bites. Location & breakfast should be included in the price. Good breakfadt.

- Robin (6/5): Very quiet spot in Balzers - The location is great for exploring Balzers and the rest of Liechtenstein as you are just 5mins walk from the nearest bus stop. The property itself has some stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Despite just booking a single room, my room had two beds and was very spacious, with desk, wardrobe and private bathroom. Compared to similar properties in Lichtenstein and Switzerland, the price to stay here for two nights was good value. The key was located in a safe which was easily accessed through a code sent before arrival. There were multiple aspects of staying here that I found to be rather odd, some which stem from the fact this property is not an actual hotel, and others that were just issues with the room and property design. Throughout my entire stay I only ever saw other people in the property once or twice, as they have very limited reception hours. While this was fine, after I checked in on Sunday night, the who place felt eerily quiet, with the lights off in the hallways and upstairs and seemingly no one else staying or moving about the property. While quiet is always welcome in a hotel, it is difficult to describe quite how spooky (?) the property felt that evening. This wasn't helped by the fact that there seemed to be a bird moving/flying around within the roof above my bathroom (it must've been trapped in there or something), and with no one on reception I simply just used some earplugs to go to sleep. The window of the room was at the far end, perpendicular to the slanted roof. While there were some shades over the glass, there were no actual curtains provided, meaning that as soon as the sun rose, the entire room became light. Eye masks were provided thankfully, but if you aren't comfortable sleeping while wearing this, it's going to be an issue.
- Frank (7/5): Nice but not again - No breakfast included Pay for coffee in the AM?
- Daimon (8/5): Very good -
- Martin (8/5): Very good - Location is scenic. Easy access with both bus and car. Simple guesthouse with easy check-in/out Doesnt seem like the regulator on the wall worked, so ended up being a very warm night.
- Mark (3/5): Poor -
- Colin (10/5): Fantastic trip to a beautiful part of the world - Stunning location , lovely clean room and facilities, even had a wee balcony to sit out which others did not . Nothing
- Moray (9/5): Excellent base for 3 days. I'd have no hesitation in staying again. - Fantastic location, within easy walking distance of bus stops. Fantastic views. Excellent basic rooms. Good wifi. Everything was spotlessly clean. Large, comfortable bed. No kettle in the room, which would have been good.
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Room clean and tidy .The few staff we saw were nice and friendly No facilities in the room for making a drink .Charged for making a drink down stairs .
- Lucy (8/5): Lovely view, basic but comfortable - The room was comfortable and clean, and there was plenty of room. It was simple but that was all I needed. The view across the Rhine valley was amazing.
The instructions to find my key since I arrived after the reception had closed were good. There didn't seem to be temperature control on the shower and I found it far too hot.
At first I walked straight past my room because I thought it was the office behind the reception desk and the number wasn't obvious, so a map or instructions to find my room would have been useful.
- Elżbieta (8/5): Very good - overall ok, wonderfully located. downside was the lack of a microwave in the facility.
- Bryan (7/5): Good -
- Robin (9/5): Perfect - Perfect location underneath the schloss. Basic but comfortable and spotlessly clean and ideal for a stay in Balzers.
- Ilka (7/5): Spartan Room under a beautiful Castle - We liked the location, right under Castle Gutenberg which was beautiful. The room was rather spartan, but did the job as an overnight stop. Wifi and hot water were okay. We never saw any staff at all. The room did not have block out curtains.
- Risto (7/5): Good -
- Sabyasachi (9/5): A Charming and Convenient Stay - Our stay in Balzers was a delightful experience, and this property turned out to be an excellent choice. While we were initially a bit apprehensive about the self-check-in process, as this is the system on weekends, it was surprisingly smooth and hassle-free. Clear instructions were provided in advance, and the keys were easy to locate, which made settling in stress-free.
Location:
The location of this property is simply fantastic. Nestled at the base of a historic castle, it offers a picturesque setting that feels straight out of a storybook. A charming vineyard lies adjacent to the property, adding to the serene ambiance, and the nearby village church enhances the old-world charm. Staying in Balzers provided us with a peaceful, authentic experience, a wonderful alternative to the more crowded and far pricier accommodations in Vaduz, the capital.
Parking and Accessibility:
Another highlight was the convenient parking. We could park our car right next to the door, which made unloading luggage a breeze—especially helpful after a day of travel.
Value for Money:
Compared to accommodations in Vaduz, this property offers excellent value without compromising on quality or location. That said, travelers coming from Italy, like us, should be prepared for the higher costs of staying and dining in Liechtenstein, which align more closely with Swiss pricing.
Overall Impression:
This property in Balzers is a gem. Its picturesque location, seamless self-check-in, and proximity to the castle and vineyards make it a unique and memorable place to stay. For those looking to experience the charm of Liechtenstein without the hefty price tag of Vaduz, this is a perfect choice. Highly recommended for travelers seeking both convenience and character.
- Renato (9/5): Good choice - One night stay for educational purpose. Bed is excelent. An the room was very clean.
- David (9/5): Quiet and friendly base for visit to Liechtenstein. - Quiet location in Balzers immediately under the local castle and close to main bus route across Liechtenstein, Sargans rail station about 20 mins. away. The venue is a conference centre rather than a purpose-designed hotel / guest house but a good breakfast is available by advance request, or there are basic self-service facilities with coffee machine etc. Clean and comfortable, cost compares favourably with accommodation generally in this expensive country. A good base for travel using a bus day pass. No obvious improvements seemed possible.
- Lisa (9/5): Warm welcome; beautiful one of a kind place! Feel lucky that I found it 😊 - The view and location and serenity are unsurpassed. Castle is on property!!!! So cool!!! Warm inside the room, which an open window can cure however there are mosquitoes. Some screen installations could be wise. Also, there are literally nowhere to plug-in devices for recharging perhaps a shelf by the one outlet near the door could be a great addition.
