Guest Reviews
- Corina (8/5): -
- Sheryl (10/5): Would definitely stay again when visiting Tauranga. - Breakfast was offered(bread and eggs) and there were cereals available and a huge bottle of fresh milk. Coffee capsule machine with capsules provided which was welcome.
Beautiful tranquil setting in the country.
Hosts were lovely.

- Charmaine (10/5): A Safe and homely environment, a home away from. - It was rural and quiet. Could take lovely walks, do puzzles, play cards and read. It was fairly close to most things but you do need a car to get there. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and always on hand if you need anything. The available breakfast and the occasional dinners was also a lovely touch. It could do with better water pressure in the shower. I couldn’t really make use of the bath because by the time the water had half filled up it was cold already. This is not a luxurious cottage by any means, there were a few issues with puddles of water coming into the bathroom after heavy rains but has everything you need to be comfortable.
- Esther (10/5): Cozy and cute! I brought a friend who was visiting from Australia and she had the best time! - The key location was discussed.
- Roger (8/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): Great value for money with a lot of nice finishing touches. - There was a generous selection of foods available for breakfast including, tea, coffee, juice, eggs, bread and cereal. The hosts also provided a small amount of firewood for the chimney which unfortunately we didn't get a chance to us but was a lovely touch. Nothing to complain about , we had a great stay.
- Kaushal (10/5): Exceptional - Rupali and Puneet were wonderful Host, they came and greeted us after arrival to ensure that everything was OK and guided us about near by places. Also we had a chance to spend some great time with the Host and their Family to the near by stream. The location was stunning, very beautiful and quiet. The House was spotlessly clean with everything you needed for self catering. We would highly recommend staying here, one of our best stay in North New Zealand. We hope to come back again. Not to miss, Holly is an amazing Dog.
Thank you very much Rupali and Puneet. Nothing
- Sam (10/5): A secret amazing place - The hostess were so nice and welcoming.
The facilities and views were great.its definitely worth staying because it's so quiet but so close to town.
I've been here twice and will definitely come back again(:
- Pradeep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lakshitha (9/5): Lovely quiet place away from the town - Lovely place and the host was very friendly. They have a small farm and let us feed sheeps and chickens.
Facilities were really good.
- Tamara (9/5): Great hosts, the property had everything we needed during our stay, including breakfast. - The location was perfect for us as we were visiting friends close by. Great hosts, the property had everything we needed during our stay, it was great to have breakfast supplied which was just perfect. Very quiet, pretty location.
- Gareth (9/5): Superb -
- Sylvia (7/5): Nice feel to the place and we were made welcome. We would stay again. - Great location, quiet and peaceful, with a lovely outdoor area - especially loved the swinging chair! Friendly and helpful host, who provided thoughtful little touches and treats along with generous breakfast provisions (the bread was especially delicious!). Bedroom rather cramped, but at the same time the large wardrobe shelving was really handy.
Shower could be better.
- Wilhelmina (8/5): Very good - Very quiet location. Very nice owners
- Mario (8/5): Very good - We recently stayed at Kereru Cottage and had a mostly enjoyable experience. The location is peaceful, surrounded by nature, and perfect for a relaxing getaway.. The main bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped for preparing meals.
That said, the outdoor area and natural surroundings were a highlight, with native birds. The hosts were friendly and provided helpful local recommendations, which made the stay more enjoyable.
Overall, Kereru Cottage is a lovely place for a couple or a small family, but it would be even better with improvements to the sofa bed and its cleanliness. However, the sofa bed was quite short and uncomfortable, making it less ideal for sleeping. While the cottage is perfect for two adults and children, it’s not the best setup for four adults. Additionally, the sofa bed sheets could have been cleaner, which was a bit disappointing.
- Mary-anne (9/5): Provided everything we needed and the owner was lovely - Lovely country feel. A perfect stay. It wasn’t really a problem but the opening and shutting of the big gate was more of an inconvenience
- Liv (10/5): Perfect - We instantly felt at home in this beautiful cottage! We had such a warm welcome and the hosts were lovely! Couldn’t have wished for a better stay. Thank you! Nothing :)
- Soal (10/5): A home away from home - The cottage was so homely. The hosts have payed such careful attention to ensure that every need is met. The cottage is also located near a lovely forest walk.
- Vanessa (9/5): Under-promised and over-delivered - The hosts were amazing, the property surprised with extra activities like feeding the chickens and sheep, access to a trampoline and a wonderful peaceful setting and garden. The property and hosts overdeliverded for sure
- Soni (8/5): A Wonderful Family Retreat! - We had the most delightful stay at this charming farmhouse, and it was truly a perfect getaway for our family. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The peaceful and scenic location provides a perfect backdrop for a relaxing break from city life.
One of the highlights of our stay was the opportunity to interact with the lovely animals on the farm. Their dog, Holly was an absolute joy to be around—so friendly and playful, making our stay even more special. The hens were a hit too, with fresh eggs being collected every morning. The kids had an absolute blast feeding the sheep. It was such a joy to see them learn about farm life and connect with the animals.
Our kids had a wonderful time playing with the hosts’ children, Meera and Arjun. They quickly became great friends, exploring the farm and enjoying each other’s company. It was such a special experience to see them bond in such a natural, outdoor setting.
We also can't forget the yummy breakfasts! Every morning, we enjoyed fresh eggs straight from the farm. It was a great way to start the day before heading out to explore or relax at the farmhouse.
The owners also have a beautiful cultivation garden, where they grow a variety of fresh produce. It was such a treat to see how much care and effort goes into growing their own food. We even got a chance to sample some of their fresh fruits—such a lovely touch that made our stay feel even more authentic!
The farmhouse itself is cozy and well-equipped, offering all the comforts we need. The outdoor area is spacious, with seating areas perfect for evening chats. We were also impressed with the warm hospitality of the hosts—they made us feel like part of the family.
Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat, an interactive farm experience with kids (and pets!), or a relaxing evening with a barbecue, this place has it all. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a family-friendly escape!
Thank you Puneet, Rupali, Meera and Arjun!

- Kim (9/5): Good value with really great hosts - Was a great place to stay and excellent value for money The pull out bed was a bit uncomfortable for older people, would have been great to have an additional mattress to put on top. But this is very minor matter - main bed was fantastic
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louisa (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet, peaceful, lovely facilities and environment
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Everything - the views, the friendly hosts, the chickens and dog greeting you every day, the breakfast, listening to the birds, taking beautiful walks nearby :)
It is a good base for trips to Tauranga, Mt Maunganui or Hobbiton. The WiFi was patchy, but that gives you more time to enjoy the scenery and accommodation.
- Taher (10/5): Good place for an amazing stay with friends - Unfortunately, I couldn't make it myself (damn you covid!) however my friends thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Very value for money and great hosts Everything was great including the booking communication

- Esti (10/5): Exceptional - Very quaint and comfortable cottage, well appointed and very functional, super clean, nicely decorated, in a superbly quiet country side location. And yet not far to either beach (Mt Maunganui) or pristine native bush (the Kaimai Mamaku ranges). Very friendly and accommodating hosts and free range chickens roaming around. Nothing, all was superb.
